Uki · 09/04/2008 07:57

HI All

Sorry not been on, less and less time now, any one else finding these babes demanding

Pink - lots going on with you, Tate sounds well. My LL is not sitting yet either, but does like a tummy crawl. WOW my dh won't go the big v, I think men who do are fantastic, as it is the best option if you don't want any more. i find it hard to say I don't want any more yet

Tash- WOW hun, that's a big decision for you all, thinking of you. I think if you are only terminating for dh, then it would be very hard. You sound quite doubtful about it all. I hope dh and you can work it out. there was a thread on here not long ago, where dh said he would leave and didn't want 3rd baby. He did come around but was very hard/rough going for a while.

LL was only having 1o minute day naps for the last month and waking constantly through the night. so I have been rather wasted, nurse suggested wrapping him again and it has really helped, amazing.Hope it lasts though and is not some one off miracle.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 09/04/2008 10:06

Morning! Aaw knickers your first scan pic, ok NOW I'm feeling a tad jealous lol (that could have been me, we tested same day remember!) are you happier with it all now? Aaw I always think your little girl is gorgeous, look at her standing up!!! You'll have to lower the cot if you haven't already. We're going to lower ours soon as it's on the very highest setting still and he's almost pulling himself up to sit.

Last night I stripped him off for his bath and he was having a bit of naked time on his mat, rolled over and tried to crawl whilst nudey. He found it a lot easier and managed to get his body off the floor finally. He got a bit of a carpet burn on his willy though, felt bad afterwards for encouraging him to move without thinking that our carpet is a bit scratchy on delicate bits! Won't be long now til he's moving, it's scary. I don't know how I'll cope, we don't even have a stairgate yet

Hi Uki, long time no see, glad you're ok! I still swaddle James on occasion when he's being a fusspot. He sleeps really well when swaddled!

He's currently "driving" a packet of babywipes round the floor like it's a toy car. He does have toys, honestly!

James

Lexie has a permenant carpet burn on her head. She crawls all the time and when she tired she still crawls but with her head down rubbing on the carpet.

touch wood we have conquered (sp) the eating breakfast and not throwing it over mummy the last 2 days she had 5oz milk at 6.30am and a small amount of porridge at 7.30am.

It's funny isn't it lexie is almost a month younger then james (just 7mths) but she is crawling and sitting herself up, i think i am going to have another early walker Lizzie was walking at 9mths.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 09/04/2008 10:32

lol, yeah they're all different aren't they! I think James's mobility is hampered by his weight a little bit, it seems to take a lot of effort to get that big tummy off the ground, bless him. But as soon as he IS moving the tummy should reduce a little bit so he'll just have to get around it.

He's quite good at tuning around etc. As I type he's slowly commando crawling around the floor trying to grab all the crap I put down for him (cake tin, whisk, wooden spoon, blocks, balloon, his favourite kitchen roll tube a crappily designed sippy cup with a few cheerios in it for shaking as he won't drink out of the bugger and I'm determined to get my moneys worth) lol

Yay, In The Night Garden time! half an hour of absolute silence peace while I have hot coffee and slimming world approved biccies!

Hi All
Tash - Just read down and saw you news, how are you doing? I had a termination when i was 18 and NEVER regretted it but i was too young to have children then. Hope you are ok.

James - tate has a little carpet burn on his legs from when he pushes himself round the carpet, he seems to roll everywhere and making no attempt at crawling yet! ( Thank god!)

Is it really bad to give your baby a handful of cheerios he will eat rather than fannying with making toast he probably won't eat? I'm sick of cleaning philedelphia off of everything. I swear I use more babywipes on his toys than on his bum! Cheerios are wonderfully clean.

Pink I know what you mean, I'm dreading him getting properly mobile. Mobile = accidents and licking the toilet.

i know how you feel kinickers, we are also going away in may and dont want him moving to much as then he will be happy to sit in his pushchair!

lol @ knickers blessing James's willy! He's alright I smothered it in bepanthen last night and it's looking less sore today.

Sorry about the headaches, knickers. I usually have the odd headache and had none throughout pregnancy at all, it's weird how it affects everyone differently. How's the MS?

OP posts:
My2Weegirls · 09/04/2008 10:44

Hi all ? hope you are all well?

Tasha ? how did you get on at the dr?s, make sure you take your time and get help deciding what you want to do and what is best for you and your family. I forgot about the legal situation over there. a lot of ladies used to come over to Scotland for terminations and some to give birth and then put baby up for adoption.

Oh james ? poor J, hope his carpet burn gets better soon. Dd2 gets them on her chin from the scratchy rug.

Both dds are choked with the cold again. All I can say is thank f**k for medised (meant that both them and us got some sleep last night).
Though both of them were up at 5am this morning.

gill - how's the headaches - have your tried taking ibuprofen? does it make a difference at you gp for taking taking it more seriously. if notthing improves then you should go back and see another gp.

My2weegirls, sorry to hear they're poorly again, thank god medised wasn't one of the medicines they banned recently, eh? James has still only had one cold and one bout of diarrhea - I'm worried it means he won't be immune to loads of stuff when he's older, but what can you do, go around to snotty people's houses on purpose and wipe your baby on them?

Glad the ms is easing knickers, I didn't realise mine was ms as I didn't know I was pg for almost 3 months so assumed it was carsickness as I was getting a lift with someone who drove like a nutter. I might have questioned it otherwise! lol

Off to get tidied up, my sister is over in an hour or so and I haven't even tried to scale Mount Laundry yet. James is yawning, eeeexcellent.

Hello all. Work is manic and this is my first break I've taken this week so I don't feel bad about being on for ages trying to catch up

Ds is doing really well sitting. Yesterday evening I sat him next to a box of toys and it kept him amused for at least half an hour!! He's so much happier being able to sit so he's not stuck in the bouncer or laying on the carpet.

Dd went to another party at a soft play place called Monkey Bizz at the weekend. They had a dedicated baby area with walkers. He loved being able to stand up and see everything around him. I wasn't going to get one for space issues but I decided to get one after all.

James - Ds is 23lb now and I think that's one reason why he's not moving much too. I read dd's red book last night and she was crawling and walking around holding on to the furniture at this age.

Can't remember who said their dc's don't eat much. Ds doesn't stop eating. He has a bottle between 5:30 and 6:30 followed by at least one weetabix plus a small banana at 9:30. Then he has a bottle at about 2 followed by a relatively large dinner, some fruit and a large petit filous yoghurt. He then proceeds to help me eat my dinner at home and then has a bottle before bed. I don't think he would care if I took away his milk. He only had one bottle at 3am on Saturday.

My2weegirls - That's great that dd2 doesn't cry when you leave her. It's definitely a good thing. Must mean she's happy there I hated weaning dd but ds has been a dream to wean. He will eat anything, lumps n all. The ibuprofen helps a bit but it's really just shifting the problem and not actually addressing it. I think I'll wait til I get some time off work and then go back to the docs. I can't make an appointment so I'm generally off work for half a day. We never see the same doctor so it's unlikely I'll get the same one as last time.

Sorry if I've missed anyone. I'm hoping to get on a bit more often.

helibee · 09/04/2008 15:36

hi everyone, just about caught up on everything

big hugs tasha, my cousin has 4 dc's under 5, it's hard but she says she doesn't regret it (only 1st and 2nd ones were planned)- anyway i hope you are ok, still thinking of you.

my2weegirls-hope you find a morning routine that suits you soon

bogwoppit and james-thanks for advice about bed stuff-going to get a bed guard this fri and a fireguard and stairgate!

James-Callum is the same with bugs, aside from a tummy bug, slapped cheeks and cold which he has had almost consecutively, they're his first illnesses really!

I've not had C weighed for a long time, he's growing though, getting taller and def putting on weight and he's happy so not worried. will try and get him weighed soon though just out of curiosity!

C is still crawling backwards and gets on his tiptoes and tries to go forwards but just sits instead! He can now walk confidently with me holding just one of his hands so I'm dreading him being fully mobile and having to move everything from it's current location

helibee · 09/04/2008 15:40

oh gill-hope the headaches get better soon-it's VERY unlikely that the headaches are in a reaction to paracetemol (more likely with codeine or co-codamol as it has addictive properties), If they carry on def insist that they take you seriously! hope work gets a bit less hectic

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 09/04/2008 16:38

wow, sounds like he's almost walking helibee! They're really coming on now, huh. How are you these days? Hope you're feeling better.

Hi Gill, was wondering where you were Don't let them work you too hard, no wonder you get them headaches! That sounds very similar to was James was eating a few weeks ago but while he usually has a 7 month jar of food for dinner and usually something like a pot of banana porridge, yoghurt or fruit puree, the rest of his day is blw all the way now so he naturally eats less as it's harder to eat lots iyswim. He's definitely getting slimmer gradually, his arms and legs are less bracelety already!

Just made some banana and prune muffins as the recipe is relatively healthy and I had some brown nanas to use up. James is currently stuffing his face with one so I guess they get the thumbs up! here's the recipe if anyone wants it for the babies, they're not too sweet but nice and fruity. I had no vanilla so used plenty of cinnamon, and use tinned prunes as that's what I had in.

helibee · 09/04/2008 17:49

hi james-yes i'm better than i was in feb-the consultant thinks it was a bad kidney infection and kidney stones! My FM is no better but i just love being a mummy-makes all my fatigue and pains seem worth it!

the muffins sound good-callum tried my ice cream yesterday (silly me thought he'll pull a face and find it too cold but no he loved it-big mistake )

My2Weegirls · 09/04/2008 20:26

getting busier on here! hooray - though more to try and catch up with

helibee - glad your are doing better, we'll need to arrange our meet-up soon!

DP hsn't done either of the dropping off or picking up of the girls from childminders yet. however I've got a meeting in Ayr (the name of the hospital is the same as my DD1's ) next tue which i'll probably need to leave home about 7am ish to get there in time so he will have to do it all himself....must remember to leave clothes out for them both.

thansk everyone for wishing them both better - think it's helped . dd2's 5th tooth has come through today - so think that's been part of the cold issue with her (and no 6 is very nearly here). DD1 had 8 teeth by this age.

off to lie in bed and read

hope you all sleep well

My2Weegirls · 09/04/2008 20:28

mmmm muffins sound good!

tasha22 · 09/04/2008 22:01

wow it was busy in here today! yay

gill-sorry to hear your headaches arent getting any better can you tell me what was in that box of toys because i cant seem to put lo down without him screaming.

uki-good to hear your ok and i hope the wrapping works for you theres nothing worse than being sleep deprived. my lo always hated beiing swaddled and i bought a swaddle blanket

james- you will soon see that with boys you all of a sudden become an expert on willys lol there has been countless amount of times that ive had ds1 down the doctors with his one incident was when he kept complaining that it was sore too pee so i took him to the docs and the silly sod had been fiddling with it (as they do) and pulled back the foreskin and its not suppose to come back till way later! so he had split it and as for playing with the baby wipes do you ever feel like theres no point in buying toys??? your muffins sound lovely mite give them a go with ds1 he enjoys cooking

lizziemun- LOL at lexie head crawling! sorry shouldnt laugh

pink im ok still havent decided though. had docs appointment today EDD 11th dec and he made me a booking in app with midwife and he gave me a number to phone and talk abouot my options. ill mabe give them a wee ring tomorrow.

my2weegirls- hope your dds get better soon. lo is loaded with the cold atm too and he has an awful cough and wheezing ive got him on calcough calpol and something the doc gave him for his breathing but i havent tried medised yet must give that a go. yay for more teeth! my ds1 got all his quite quick but the other 2 seem to be dragging it out with ds2 still not having all his but ds1 had number2 make an appearance today

knickers course you dont sound like a bad mum for putting her in her hop n pop. i have to set lo down and step outside and count to 10 sometimes so i dont murder him so i must be very bad mummy lol

helibee- thats reasuring thanks and echo james it sounds like hes nearly walking! and its good to hear your feeling better

i went down town today bought 2 tins of pain and painted my whole room in time for dp coming home so he was well surprised. it was quite stressful but im well proud of myself
