ta - spent a week in seil - fab wee island! you have to drive over the 'bridge over the atlantic' to get to the island.

procrastinating.....

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 27/03/2008 14:52

procrastinating here too, meant to be tidying but J is asleep on me. I've hoovered, done some washing and we've had lunch but it's not enough, really!

OP posts:
My2Weegirls · 27/03/2008 14:57

he's not been well so he needs cuddles from his mum.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 27/03/2008 16:34

lol, wonder if that'll work on dp when he gets home and the washing up still isn't done

My2Weegirls · 27/03/2008 17:13

at least you've had an excuse! i've been child free all day - will need to say that the place was spotless but the 2 of have caused choas since they got home.

off to make dinner now...

lizziemun · 27/03/2008 17:28

I have closed my doors into the dinning room so i can't see the mess does that count .

tokentotty · 27/03/2008 23:53

(TT creeps back to thread in dead of night in attempt to be subtle.....)

Erm......er.....um.....ah.....ahem, well, so...... Chicks, just don't know where to start. Guess an apology for going awol would be a start and I genuinely am sorry for just vanishing. Not even begun to read through threads as I haven't even come within 100 miles of Mumsnet, let alone lurk and not say hello.

All I can start with is a huge hello and well wishes to all who even remember me and assurances (if even needed) that all is very, very well here with me. My absence has been caused by a) having a computer only up in my bedroom which is a loft conversion and therefore far too many flights of stairs to get up after the seeming eternal number of times I go up and down the 'normal' stairs during the day; and b) a small boy who can only be described as the hyperactive lovechild of Timmy Mallet....

Now, as I've mentioned, I haven't read anything of the last few months postings yet so if I've missed anything huge and made a big faux pas then please forgive me and I'll attempt to catch up. I really, really hope all your littlies are blooming as much as my fat chap and I'm going to attempt to update pics now before doing some serious reading....

Huge kisses to all
TT

Ok, I know I have no right to comment on thread titles having relinquished this duty on my disappearance but hey, haven't even read more than the thread title and want to hang myself !!! Am SO not back in skinny feckin' jeans!!! Quite frankly am currently in bigger jeans than ever in my life so you just wait 'til I read this thread and find out who the show off is.....

lizziemun · 28/03/2008 07:56

TT i'm with you on the jeans and the 'love child of timmy mallet' only add a 4yr old as well .

I must have great physic powers as i was only thinking yesterday morning how you and tasha were and lo and behold you both reappear.

Hersetta · 28/03/2008 09:15

hey TT - glad to see you back. Glad all is well with you and Paddy. Have you been to Spain again recently? Caitlin and I have been 4 times now - she's a well travelled baby. Just got back this Tuesday and weather is fab if you're off soon.

I'm back at work full time (boooo) but DH is having a lovely time with Caitlin 3 days a week and the childminder she goes to 2 days a week adores her so no real worries - she really hasn't even missed her Mummy, which I don't know whether to be happy or sad about!

Cute photos of paddy - he has filled out and looks beautiful - actually looks quite similar to Caitlin - pics on my profile. I think they could easily pass for brother and sister.

tasha22 · 28/03/2008 11:01

hasnt been too busy lately then.
TT- glad to here you are all keeping well
lo was up half the nite with teething i think he has another one coming. ive given up on weaning because its too awkward for him so im going to ask on his next appointmen which they keep bloody changing, if he can get a plate fitted. ds2 has an appointment at the hospital again on monday because the lump is still there and ds3 has an appointment for his hips did anyone else get one of these? they check there hips when they are born and my hv refered him. ds1 is getting refered about his eyes because he has a turn in one. honestly cant keep up with all the appointments and they are across 3 different hospitals, doesnt make sence.

leifmum- good luck on the move hun. hope you get the internet sorted soon

my2weegirls-we got ds1 a trampoline for his bday and dp and his friend were out the back for 2 hours putting it together lol i kept going out and saying 'are you two still at that' i got some dirty looks lol.

james-yay on the talking progress. ill have to get james to have a word with my ds2 lol still nothing more than hiya!

ahhh stop talking about tidying my house is a tip!

ok off for a coffee

lizziemun · 28/03/2008 12:18

Tasha

Yes, Lexie had to have her hips scan at 7 days and then again at 21days as she was a breech baby. They just checked to make sure the joint were ok. It is just an ultrascan. Are hips a bit clicky.

tasha22 · 28/03/2008 12:35

no they dont seem to be hv said it was because the creeses didnt meet but they seem fine he walks when you hold his hands

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 28/03/2008 14:04

Hello all, Hi tt!! Good to hear from you, glad all's well! Can't stop as I'm off down to s/wales AGAIN this wkend to visit friends. Hope everyone's ok and have a lovely weekend!!! xxxx

OP posts:
lizziemun · 28/03/2008 16:13

have a nice time james.

GillL · 28/03/2008 19:37

Hi TT. Glad to hear you and little paddy are both well. I was thinking about you the other day too. The jeans title was in my honour. They are in no way skinny jeans but I finally fit back into clothes I was wearing before I was pg the first time. My ds is definitely blooming. He's very heavy and won't stop growing.

Ds has an eye infection. I've been having to clean out luminous yellowy green gunk from his eyes the last couple of days. I took him to the doctors and got some drops. He wasn't too keen (screamed blue murder) when I tried to put them in this evening so I'll have to wait til he's been asleep for a while.

Hope you have a nice time this weekend James. I'll be taking dd to a friend's birthday party tomorrow morning. I was hoping to take ds with me as my friends haven't seen him since before xmas but I don't want to risk passing on his infection.

Bogwoppit · 29/03/2008 13:38

woohoo we have a tooth finally. ds2 was so not himself Weds & Thurs. high temp puking every feed, but i think it was all related to this tooth erupting.

hes got a cough now poor thing too & my boobs have been bursting from the increased feeds from limpet baby the last few days!

have spent the morning clearing out halfthe garage on a mouse hunt - we've caught 4 of the little b*&@%&s so far. It's raining now so i can't do other half, plus I need dh back home to lift the heavy stuff.
can't see where they are coming in, but i think it was the grass seed i'd bought that qattracted them.
thelittle gits have eated part of my pushchair basket too grrrrrrr.

Gill hope your ds is better soon
James - hope you had a good w/e away

back to school on Monday

Bogwoppit · 31/03/2008 12:39

Bogwoppit sits watching the tumbleweed

GillL · 31/03/2008 13:03

Hi Bogwoppit. Sounds like you've had a hectic weekend. My ds has another cold and cough too. It's been waking him early for the last few days. Ds' eyes are much better now thanks. It only took a couple of doses of the drops to sort them out. I think Easter hols start next week round here, not that it affects me as mum takes dd to pre-school.

James - hope you had a nice time with your friends.

I've decided to start looking for a new job. I've been getting more and more fed up here recently and Friday was the last straw when an internal email I'd sent was taken out of context and sent to our customer who was not best pleased. I've had enough of working with people who do stupid things and don't care about the customers. And I'm fed up with having to be nice to people who constantly moan at us even though we do everything we can to make them happy. I've got to get out of customer services.

Rant over. Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

lizziemun · 31/03/2008 22:05

Just joining Bogwoppit to watch the 'tumbleweed' .

Bogwoppit

I wish Lexie teeth would brake through (think she cutting all 4 front teeth at once ). She like that dog from 'turner and hooch' with all the dibble.

My sister got a thing you plug into the mains which sends out a signel which keeps mice from coming in to the house. She got it from a garden centre if that helps.

Gill I hope the job hunting goes well. As at the moment i can not go back to work (can afford childcare and DH is on all call 24/7 so can not even do evening work). So i have just sent of for a correspondence course to try and make (find) brain work again.

Anyway on a lighter note can i superglue lexie to her cot, as she keep moving in her sleep and getting stuck in the corner of cot.

helibee · 31/03/2008 22:37

hiya, just trying to catch up again with everyone.

Callum is now better from his slapped cheeks but we went to see my brother and his wife this w/end and i think Callum may have caught a cold!! It just seems one thing after another! Anyway we had a good w/end.

Hope everyone else is ok.

TT-i didn't know you from before but hi, was looking at the pics of your wee one-very cute. I'll try and update pics soon.

James-hope you had a good weekend and hope J is all better now.

my2weegirls-is it this weekl you go back to work? Good luck and big hugs to you.

Gill-def see a doc about the headaches-i get migraines a lot and not much belps but it's reassuring to know that you've been checked over and they may be able to prescribe something that helps.

Tasha-glad to see you back, sorry all your boys need to go to the hosp for various things. Hope ds2's lump goes down soon. Callum is also extremely clingy atm and isry whingey if he's anywhere but my lap or hip-which is a tad restrictive and frustrating!

Callum is being really fussy eating atm-he is only eating bread, organix carrot sticks and organix sweetcorn rings and occasionally a bit of chicken and carrot, everything else he is screwing his face up at-lets hope this doesn't last long!!! He did let me feed him 1 spoonful of yoghurt today so thats progress on the not letting us feed him front!

Hersetta · 01/04/2008 10:34

Where is everyone?????

Glad Callum's slapped cheek is on the mend - typical though that he now gets a cold.

Caitlin is all arms and legs at the moment. She loves playing on her mat and shuffles accross it on her bottom. She's also obsessed her my glasses at the moment and before I can react she's ripped them off my face and stuffs them in her mouth so the lens is covered in dribble - thanks for that Caitlin!

She's sleeping well though - haven't heard a peep out of her at night for ages now - she crashes out usually within two minutes of being put to bed wide awake and that's the last we hear from her. This morning she was still asleep after 12 hrs and DH had to wake her up to get her to the child minders on time. That was unusual though as she only usually has 11 hours sleep.

We have a new word now which she jabbers away with non stop. She's progressed from Mum mum mum to dada. DH was well chuffed yesterday when she pointed at him and said Dada.

GillL · 01/04/2008 13:17

It's a nice day here today - sunny and warm. It started off rainy and cold but it cheered up quite quickly.

Ds is still all gums. I have no idea when he's going to cut his teeth. He's got lots of big lumps but he doesn't really dribble that much.

Hersetta that's lovely that Caitlin says mama and dada. Alex is still quite happy blowing raspberries , especially when he's eating, yuck!

Glad Callum is better helibee. These colds just go round in circles. Just when you think they're over they get another one.

Lizzie - ds changes position in his cot constantly. I never know when he's going to end up.
