lizziemun - hope lexie gets better soon. dd seems to hva epermanent cold but touch wood never develops into anything worse. lots of green snot trails today though!

knickers - dd sleeps 7.30-7.30ish. that pretty much suits us fiine. gives us enough of an evening on our own and means i don't have to drag myself out of bed too early! hope the ms isn't too bad today.

just had a letter from solicitor dealing with our move. he has no record of our title deeds for this house. we don't have them.....desperately hoping fil knows where they might be. just want this all to hurry up now. each delay gets me worrying it will all fall through. don't think i can handle that

tasha22 · 04/03/2008 10:38

sorry i cant keep up. ds2 is sick not too sure what it is. he has high temp and just wants to cuddle up on my knee. ive got a horrible cold. i didnt go to the appointment as i couldnt get a babysitter so a someone is going to phone me to try and arrange a more suitable time/day. my tutor just emailed me and my assignment is due in tomorrow and i cant get my printer working as ive lost the disc.

lizziemun-hope the wee woman feels better soon.

leifmum hope your fil has them. it must be so frustrating

kinki hope your dh is feeling better?

hope everyone else is well. havent had time to read all posts.

My2Weegirls · 04/03/2008 10:54

i can't keep up eiher!

dd1 has passed her latest cold to dd2 - i keep up with wiping the streaming eyes, nose (number eleven as my brother calls it - the 2 permanent streams of snot running down), the drooling which is ten times worse since she's got to breathe through her mouth. if i don't wipe it all away quickly she does her popeye face and sooks on the snot - yuck!

tasha - maybe they could come out to you? can you email your assignment?

leifmum - i'm sure all the house sutff will be fine.

of all these babies that sleep through and for so long!

kinki - how's your dh?

i've forgotten everything else that i was going to say. hope all's well

GillL · 04/03/2008 11:25

knickers - my niece goes to bed at 6pm (she's 2) and has done for a long time. She generally stays asleep til 7am. I would put ds to bed around 6:30 if I wasn't worried that he would wake for a night feed. He has his dinner at about 4:30 - 5pm and then has a few oz of milk when he starts to whinge - I try to leave it as long as poss but it's normally no later than 7 and then he goes straight to bed.

loler - that tyre stuff looks good. My dad is forever having to repair punctures on my mum's buggies.

I don't use reusable nappies for the same reasons as you James. I have enough trouble keeping up with the washing. I did 4 loads at the weekend which emptied my 3 washing baskets and I now have 3 more loads to do including towels. I have to admit to using one set of clothes plus pjs every day. I would reuse if the trousers didn't smell of wee or poo but that doesn't happen very often. Invariably his tops get covered in dribble or food.

Hope everyone who's ill plus dcs are feeling better soon.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 04/03/2008 15:07

Knickers, James doesn't have a set bedtime, I just go off how tired he seems, it can be anything from 7.30-9pm. He generally sleeps for 12 hours-ish so I don't mind if he goes to bed later as it means he gets up later (means more sleep for me) If I thought he needed to sleep at 6.30pm I'd have no qualms about putting him down then, I say go with your instincts. You sound like you have her in a good routine!

If your lo is fond of toast, why not try spreading different things on the toast to get her used to new flavours on a platform she already likes? You could do melted cheese, cheese spread, eggy bread, hummus, marmite, unsalted butter, fruit puree, mashed banana, mashed hardboiled egg, tuna in spring water mashed up with a bit of fromage frais, mashed sardines in tomato sauce, veg puree or thick soup/stew, smooth peanut butter (if your family has no history of allergies, although you may want to wait til she's one) apple n pear spread (from healthfood shop) or make your own toppings such as mushroom and onion sauteed in a bit of butter then whizzed down in the blender to a spreadable consistency.

I'm hungry now! Off for some toast.

hi everyone, i hope all dc's and mummy's who are poorly feel better soon.

Callum doesn't go to bed till 10.30pm but thats mainly due to my FM and CFS, but he has been like this since he was new born and he kind of made his own routine, if he wanted to go to bed earlier then that would be fine. it's nice as we get time as a family in the evening all snuggled up on the sofa. But i agree with James, just do what you think is right for your own wee ones.
However he still wakes up in the night for an ounce or two of feed [frustrated face]

Anyway I'm just back from the dentist with a numb face [weird sensation face]!, however i have a very sexy dentist so it makes up for it in some ways

Callum has decided to eat his pic book rather than his bread and pear? strange baby

lizziemun · 04/03/2008 18:42

Knickers

Lexie is only having about 20oz of milk aday (i'm only starting to wean as she is one of the youngest on this thread will be 6mths on friday), but she does not like milk and i struggle to get to get her take a bottle can take up to an hour for 6oz and with me warming it up again as she will only drink it warm.

But strangely (sp) she does love her porridge, rice pudding and other milky puddings. I have strange children when it comes to eating Lizzie went to a birthday at Macdonalds at the weekend and would only eat chicken nuggets, a fruit bag and a fresh orange drink .

Helibee

I hope your face comes back to life soon.

Tasha

I hope you feel better soon and get an appointment soon as well.

helibee · 04/03/2008 18:43

ooh just been reading some back posts from beginning of this thread and we've got the baby sit and step from mamas and papas and it is great-Callum loves it. If your wee one can sit up then they are great for amusement!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 04/03/2008 20:38

Lizzie, surely if you added the milk to her porridge etc it would still "count" as a feed? It's odd she doesn't milk! I wonder why (perhaps you should add some nesquik)

James has 3 x 8oz bottles a day, usually 7.30am, 2pm and 8pm ish with food imbetween. Much as he likes his food, he LOVES milk, and would probably give up all solids for two extra bottles of milk a day.

For dinner tonight he had a corn on the cob chopped into wheels- first time he's ever made proper "mmmm" noises about anything! Not sure how much went in but he thoroughly enjoyed them anyway! Carried on chewing the one in his hand between every spoonful of fruit and custard- lovely combination.

Hope Helibee and Kinki's dh, and all the poorly babies are feeling better this evening!

Leifmum, got my fingers crossed for a smooth easy move for you guys!

Tasha, hope you're ok and ds2 is feeling better. I'm sure they won't mind you emailing the assignment in, just explain about the printer, these things happen! Hope you get a new appointment soon and you can arrange for your do to be off for a couple of hours. I'm waiting to hear about an appointment myself.

I could have done with someone to talk to myself this morning, I felt really down. But dp has fed, bathed and amused James this evening so I could get some work done, which has really helped and I feel more human now. I think he's starting to enjoy spending time with James more now, (especially as J idolises him and bursts into hysterical laughter at the slightest silly face daddy pulls, and even copies when dp taps on things, James does it too- I know dp thinks that is marvellous) Plus it's nice as I get a bit of me time, even if I am working, just a couple of hours when I'm "off duty" and he isn't asleep. It's like taking off a heavy coat!

we searched around when we moved for someone who would take nhs patients as i wanted to make use of my maternity exemption certificate. Also as i say having a very dishy dentist helps you turn up to the appointments!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 04/03/2008 21:57

Knickers, she's got such a cute little cheeky face! I bet she's a right little monkey in the flesh.

Oh, don't talk to me about sodding dentists! As we speak I have toothache, shooting to my ear, I really really need to make an appointment tomorrow. Got big work that needs doing, it's going to take a road drill and a pickaxe.

Speaking of knickers, I had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction yesterday! I decided this morning to wear some super duper arse covering knickers, proper up to the tits down to the thigh, no-says-no industrial jobbies, designed to calm the ardour of the lustiest male, but OHMYGOD they're comfy and warm!

I had obviously been sat about all day not moving much because I didn't realise they were so loose- halfway to the post office I felt an ominous loosening, and they fell down into a massive bunch around my thighs (thank god I was wearing trousers!) and there was nothing I could do, couldn't even hold them up as I was pushing the pushchair. Well that was a fast and furtive stomp home! lol How come whenever you're feeling paranoid about your appearance there's always a group of teenage lads walking behind you?

james, you should be employed as a comediene!!! you always make me laugh

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 04/03/2008 23:02

My dp does actually refer to those pants as my passion killers! lol I bought them when I was pregnant for hospital visits (somehow assuming the midwives would faint at the sight of frilly elastic) and they've just kind of stuck. Well, until they unstuck yesterday.

lizziemun · 05/03/2008 07:07

LOL james. Why is it that never happen at home.

I think Lexie takes after me, I only have milk in tea. Eat my cereal dry , and she is certainly not keen on food or milk first thing in the morning.

tasha22 · 05/03/2008 08:59

lol james ive got into habbit of wearing them constantly. cant get back into the habbit of wearing uncomfortable ones.

lo still on 5oz of milk. sleeping from 7.00 to 7.00 he wakes in the night but goes back down with dummy. i emailed my tutor asking if i could email it and she said no unfortunatly you have to post a hard copy so had dp running about last night trying to get it printed eventually got it so ill post it today(its due in today). im off to london on friday morning! and off to see a medium tonight. hope she says im going to win the lottery

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 05/03/2008 09:32

ooh why are you going to london, tasha? Hope the medium has good news for you. How's ds2 today?

I'm almost at the bottom of my washing basket, I've just got our bedding to do, hooray! Got an absolute mountain of clothes to iron fold and put away (sod the ironing, I'm crap at it anyway)

Oh well, off to shovel some weetabix into lo.
