DS is really excited about it and was telling me he is arranging a "special secret treat" for me, which is bloody lovely, but I don't really want to get ino the whole MIL thing.

We've never really got on that well, and I just know she will say something hideous and untactful but, as everyone lets her wayward gob slide (an "oh, that's just mum, you know how she is" attitude), I'll be expected to grin and bear it. But I don't know if I'll be able to hold back from giving her a mouthful

but, she is DH's mum and he should see her.

but otoh, it'll be another black mark against me if I don't go

and part of me wants to go and spend it with my sisters.

so in six minds about it really.

sorry you asked yet?

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 23/02/2008 15:14

not stupid foxy . tbh I've been trying not to think about it too much.

My dad died the week after father's day, so we had a whole year to adjust and it didn't seem that bad when it came round. This is just a bit too close for comfort though

foxythesnowman · 23/02/2008 15:20

No, not sorry I asked!

Could DH take the DCs and you have pilates session?

I think, given the circumstances, you could be given a leave of absence from the ILs!

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 23/02/2008 15:40

We've had a chat about it . He's going to take DS to see his mum am, then back here for a nice lunch then I'm off to pilates and then we'll go out to the local curry house for their Sunday "all you can eat for £8" buffet

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 23/02/2008 15:41

please stop me from buying more fuzzis. I need to sell my two parters before I go anywhere near a pocket nappy.

foxythesnowman · 23/02/2008 15:54

Sounds lovely Daisy!

After long deliberation I have decided NOT to include a near-complete bar of Chilli Chocolate in with that book, you'll be pleased to hear! Honestly, I considered it. I think that is weird.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 23/02/2008 15:56

what, weirder than sending your half eaten comsumables halfway around the country?

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 23/02/2008 15:56

bugger, it's hard to be clever when you spell things wrong

foxythesnowman · 23/02/2008 15:57

well, it is only a wee bit nibbled on the corner

foxythesnowman · 23/02/2008 15:57

you think I noticed?!

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 23/02/2008 16:05

lolol

Is HOLLY about today? A reg MNer is selling some wonderoos (used for 6mo at £8 each with inserts). I think she still has a few left.

milkyJammy · 23/02/2008 16:30

I just had some hot chocolate with chilli and was rather disappointed. But when DH had chilli chocolate at Xmas I liked that.

foxythesnowman · 23/02/2008 16:36

Is that with choc/chilli powder?

Wonder what it would be like if you made it with the chocolate itself?

milkyJammy · 23/02/2008 16:39

It was some chilli flavoured hot chocolate powder we got from Whittards

FairyFay · 23/02/2008 16:40

I got some chilli choc for xmas and it's still sittng in the cupboard - well all but 2 squares are. I think that sums up my opinion on it....

Foxy, nice as it sounds to meet up, as you say 2 of us and 6 children doesn't make for a relaxed mother's day .

Daisy, I think you are well within your rights to have the morning/day off and not have to see your ILs.

foxythesnowman · 23/02/2008 16:57

Any takers for a couple of opened, barely eaten bars of chilli choc then?

Oh I am a BAAAAAD Mummy. I have phoned for a pizza. Tonight I introduce DS2 to the delights of Dominos Delivery. The others are having pasta, so I don't feel too bad!

FairyFay · 23/02/2008 17:06

That makes you a GOOD Mummy in my book

foxythesnowman · 23/02/2008 17:25

Thanks FF!

For those of you who have Organic Veg boxes delivered, I got a free one today. I started Milkman doorstep delivery from Milkandmore.co.uk (very good they are too) and it was a really nice box. Their prices are quite reasonable by comparison and the contents not obscure (kohl rabi anyone?).

Also got a free baby box from Abel & Cole the other week thanks to the MN code (and I have ordered from them before, so it works even if its not a first order).

This is me being productive, btw.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 23/02/2008 18:07

Slight thread hi-jack here....

jammy......

the nappies I have available are:

  • seven bambineo nippa bamboo shaped terry with booster(three pink, two cream and two pistaschio)
  • four new style (folds out booster) pink fleece bumhuggers (two applix, two popper)
  • 1 babybeehinds birth to potty cotton/bamboo (including 2 pop in boosters) in bubblegum pink
  • 1 baby beehinds brth to potty cotton/hemp (plus boosters) in natural
  • 1 little lambs size 2 with microfibre liner (there is a terry booster for this but I can't find it)

Only one of the bambineo has had some use, but still in nearly new condition, the others were only wshed four or five times and have still to reach full absorbancy yet. There isn't any staining that I can see.

the bumhuggers were only used three or four times as she was still really in the smaller size.

the little lamb has been washed but not used.

I scanned the thread but couldn't find your e-mail address that you posted the other day, but e-mail me back on daisybump at yahoo dot co dot uk if you are interested. I'll be listing them on used nappies otherwise.

....or if anyone else is interested?

I'd just ordered all the bigger sizes when her bottom broke out, hence the lack of use.

hi-jack over

milkyJammy · 23/02/2008 18:39

milkyJammy · 23/02/2008 19:03
