Wow fury, sounds like your gp is a superstar! Glad little fury is ok now, poor little mite. How scary that a cold can produce such symptoms. I would have shat myself!

Daisy, my ds is OBSESSED with pram wheels! Completely and utterly obsessed! He spends half his life in the dining room just playing with the pushchairs. I have to make sure I check really well when we come in that there is nothing dodgy on the wheels! He also has some sort of shoe fetish !

Had my start up paperwork through from AQA this morning. They want me to get up and running by the weekend, so I've now got to trawl through all the dos and don'ts and how to use the system today and get it all back to them so they can get me on the system tomorrow! Then we'll see how much money I can actually earn!

LittleMissNorty · 07/02/2008 12:54

Oh Fury - what a relief....glad the little fella is OK.

We've just been shopping - and everything I bought was for DD....she doesn't need anything, I just needed to get out ....god I love Waterstones....we watched jackanory the other day on the Cbeebies website with the gruffalo - what a fab story, so have just bought the book....think I'm reliving my childhood here!

right off to wash carpets....dog has an upset tummy....need I say more.....

which reminds me....I dropped a nappy this morning poo side down (loverly ) and before I got a chance to put the baby wipe on the carpet the dog had licked up the excess for me....who'd have labradors eh?

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 07/02/2008 12:57

hi guy, likes fairy i was lurking on the other thread wondering what you were all doing while i was still in my pjs!

fury that's great news about DS. poor mite, good job you got him checked out. I never would have realised a cold be so bad. But great that he is getting better.

Thanks for asking after me guys. Daisy you are are very thoughtful Just having a bit of a wobble. Any advice on getting past this stage? What do they call it? 'separation anxiety'? DD just sobs every time I leave the room. It's getting very wearing. Do you think it stems from when we left her 2 weeks ago with my SIL?

annobal · 07/02/2008 12:58

LOL Holly - apple doesn't fall far from tree eh?

Fury, so glad that baby fury on the mend - how scary!

Just doing ds3's oz passport - can you believe it has to be lodged in person! What a faf - I'm sure i didn't do that with the other 2...

LardyMardyDaisy · 07/02/2008 12:59

eeeeew norty! my sister's retriever acts like a canine baby wipe as well.....but has only ever licked a clean bottom!

I'm going to have to bail out soon; the batteries have gone in the mouse and we haven't got a single AA battery in the whole house. am thinking "can I take one out of one of the DCs toys, but then that would be really sad, wouldn't it?

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 07/02/2008 13:00

Btw, good news on the teeth norty! she's a big girl now!

Holly what's AQA?

annobal · 07/02/2008 13:02

sorry, x-posted - eeeuuuw LMN (but at least you didn't have to clean it)

Bumper - glad you're having a better day. Not sure what to suggest except they do grow out of it...

LardyMardyDaisy · 07/02/2008 13:04

no bumper; they all have to go through this; it's part of realising that they are a separate being and it will pass. Just keep reassuring her by still talking to her if you pop out of the oom for a bit, and always coming back! She'll figure it out in good time.

Like I said on your other thread, DD went through this, but now that she can crawl, she just follows me and is much happier about me leaving her.

I'm sure it had nothing to do with leaving her with your SIL.

DD's latest one is to get really shy. she cried when the milkman came round to collect his money last week, and she sees him once a week and is usually really friendly.

LittleMissNorty · 07/02/2008 13:06

Can't you get one out of a remote control Daisy - that's what I do

Dirty bloody dog I have .....he also eats his own puke and anybody / anything elses....but this morning was a first

Bumper....hope you are ok x (I'd be interested to hear how people handle clingyness, cos DD has just started and tbh it pisses me off and I let her scream ....but if she starts at nursery, she'll have me in tears....

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 07/02/2008 13:10

Mostly I just let her cry though it norty, but it's completely counterproductive as it makes whatever you are trying to do v stressful. It's very unlike DD.

LardyMardyDaisy · 07/02/2008 13:11

I found this, on separation anxiety and clingyness which is quite insightful.

milkyJammy · 07/02/2008 13:11

With the jamlet (liked that one, thanks Daisy ) I did the whole talking to her, telling her all the time I'll be back in a minute etc, and of course actually going back, and it has largely passed, though she can still be a right pain when tired. And if I need to be out of the living room for a while, I decamp her, a rug, a cushion, and some toys to the kitchen or wherever.

LardyMardyDaisy · 07/02/2008 13:12

babyboo is realising there is a world outside the patio window and keeps banging her head as she tries to crawl through it......silly baby

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 07/02/2008 13:12

DS is past the anxiety stage. I just kind of ignored it and let him carry on

LardyMardyDaisy · 07/02/2008 13:13

, you're welcome jammy

OP posts:
milkyJammy · 07/02/2008 13:15

Ouch for babyboo - I walked into a glass floor to ceiling window once, thinking it was an open doorway. Bloody hurt and I gave myself mild concusion

annobal · 07/02/2008 13:19

Poor babyboo (hope you're getting it on video though )

Bumper, it's a really difficult stage, I hope it passes soon and doesn't drive you too mad

LardyMardyDaisy · 07/02/2008 13:26

I walked into a mirror at a nightclub once; thinking, Oh that girl looks just like me, then wondering vaguely (in a pissed up wooly fashion) why she was walking straight towards me when there was plenty of room to pass.....then blam, full face plant into the mirror.

stupid daisy

OP posts:
annobal · 07/02/2008 13:27

ROFL Daisy

milkyJammy · 07/02/2008 13:31

sorry Daisy, but tee hee

FairyFay · 07/02/2008 13:34

Daisy, i did a similar thing when i was a student. There was a club in Nottingham that had a mirror that was in an arch that looked like a doorway. I was a teensy bit worse for wear (ok, I was bladdered) and i walked into it, bumped my head and then did it again, much to everyone else's hilarity

foxythesnowman · 07/02/2008 13:36

PMSL Daisy!

Sorry!

Bumper, perhaps you could put her down and leave the room for two minutes talking to her, then do it for a wee bit longer. She needs to figure out you haven't disappeared and coming back.

They also go through that 'what do you mean there's more to life then me?' phase when they realise there is and get the hump about it.

LittleMissNorty · 07/02/2008 13:37

PMSL.....

FairyFay · 07/02/2008 13:39

Bumper, sorry you are feeling down, they do all go through it and then come out the otherside. btw, are we still on for our coffee this weekend?

FairyFay · 07/02/2008 13:40

DD has just said 'Don't dance Mummy, you're not good enough'. I give up
