LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 23/02/2008 12:54

Aw thanks foxy

BZ, you should probably hang onto yours......they only get worse as they get older

lol andiem; you are going to have a lot of bestest friends ever soon!

.....any plans for renting it out when you're not using it, eh? eh?

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 23/02/2008 12:55

my very snotty and earachey DD has been asleep since 10:45 . Not sure whether I should wake her or let her sleep it off?

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 23/02/2008 13:00

oops, dilemma sorted........her mistresses voice is calling me.

Later laydees

FairyFay · 23/02/2008 13:02

Personally, I'd let her sleep Daisy. My view is that if DS or DD sleep longer than normal then they probably need it to allow their body to repair itself.

Right, I'm going to a wedding over the Easter weekend and another one in mid June. I need an outfit that will do me for both, in a size 20 . I'm really disheartened about looking as it just makes me feel fat and frumpy. Does anyone have any ideas where I should start?

FairyFay · 23/02/2008 13:05

Oh yes, and I'm 5ft 11 and have size 9 feet so I can't really wear anything that needs killer heels to look good.

HellHathNoFury · 23/02/2008 13:36

Hey Fairy
Debenhams have a good range of dresses, some of them are lovely that go up to a size 20, and some of the sizings are pretty generous too.
They are about £60-£100 though so that's something to consider.

I have just been to Monsoon, John Lewis etc as I have 3 do's to go to, tonight, next Sat and the follwoing Fri so I have needed to get kitted out. I am a size 18 (just dropped from a 20) so can empathise.
Monsoon were expensive and this season not great IMO
John Lewis only go to an 18 and were expensive
Debenhams had some great stuff but £££

I know BHS go to a 20 but not sure what they have for a more formal occasion. Plus the clothes from there tend to lose shape IMO.

I also would say don't rule out Tesco who occasionally get in some gems for the bigger sizes. I have some smashing (and cheap) stuff from there.

Also check out Next online, I saw some brilliant dresses and outfits around £25-£50. I went for one of these actually and DH thought it looked gorgeous. I would say this might be your best bet?

Anyway. Hope it helps.

HellHathNoFury · 23/02/2008 13:37

I think it helped I bought a trinny and susannah butt hugger thing

FairyFay · 23/02/2008 13:41

Thanks Fury. In fact the only place that I have been so far was Monsoon. I usually like their things and had thought I was bound to find something - but I couldn't find anything that I even wanted to try on. I got really disheartened and gave up.

I hadn't thought of Debenhams but I will venture into Kingston next week and give it a go. I will also try out Next. I'm not a fan of BHS tbh, as everything I've ever got from there has gone mishapen and bobbly really quickly.

Where are you off to tonight?

milkyJammy · 23/02/2008 13:49

Back from Toys R Us - they gave us a full refund on the booster seat without any hassle So no quibbles with them, but at Dorel/Safety First

milkyJammy · 23/02/2008 13:51

And also at Bournemouth pad. I think it's the nearest bit of coast to us though, so if you're down there, you might get asked if you're up to being visited for the day.

foxythesnowman · 23/02/2008 14:03

Righto, who's for a Bournemouth meet-up then?

Quick, Andie's out for the day - if we arrange it, she won't be able to refuse!

HellHathNoFury · 23/02/2008 14:16

I would do a Bournemouth meet up - but can only do weekends.

Fairy agree with BHS - it looks good when you try it on but dies after a week.

I think you will find something at Next/Debenhams - I too got really disheartened after looking in Monsoon and had to spend hours finding stuff. The next stores don't have the whole range that they have online btw.

Tonight I have a friends 3oth, next sat is my sisters 40th, the friday after is my Mum's 60th!
Not forgetting its my brothers, Dads, SIL and Mothers day in there too...my wallet has gone ouch

foxythesnowman · 23/02/2008 14:21

Pah! Bugger off with your social life

FairyFay · 23/02/2008 14:30

Fury, you are a social butterfly . Have fun.

Well done with Toys R Us, Jammy. That sounds like a really duff product! I think handysits are great, if you are looking for an alternative.

I'd be up for a Bournemouth meet-up - I'll go almost anywhere for a day out

FairyFay · 23/02/2008 14:31

[[http://www.handysitt.biz/ handysitt]. They are quite expensive though

FairyFay · 23/02/2008 14:32

handysitt

FairyFay · 23/02/2008 14:33

Sorry, a couple of duff posts there - handysitt

foxythesnowman · 23/02/2008 14:34

LOL! Andie hasn't even bought the flat yet! Listen to us!

DP is away next weekend. Not for work, but for fun. I was meant to be going too, but thought 4 days away from the baby was too much. Didn't realise he'd be away for farking mothers day as well.

FairyFay · 23/02/2008 14:36

Foxy, my DH is away next weekend as well, on a stag weekend. I too am a bit peeved that I'll spend Mother's Day looking after the DCs on my own

foxythesnowman · 23/02/2008 14:52

My immediate thought FF was to suggest we go meet up.

But 2 adults and 6 children does not make for a relaxing mothers day!

foxythesnowman · 23/02/2008 14:53

'we go meet up'. what??

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 23/02/2008 14:55

s-o-c-i-a-l l-i-f-e ???

even if i spell it out, it doesn't mean anything to me.

anyone?????

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 23/02/2008 14:59

not looking forward to mother's day here either . It'll be a trip to the blardy PILs for yet another "Is she not on bottles yet?" conversation, and having to sit and watch her poke and prod at DD (whether DD is liking it or not)

Would it be unreasonable for me to send DH and DD to visit and then stay at home in bed with DD for the morning then get DH back here so I can go to see my pilates instructor mid afternoon?

foxythesnowman · 23/02/2008 15:03

Daisy, how do you feel about this years Mothers Day?

FWIW I think this one should be about YOU. So no, you are not being unreasonable.

foxythesnowman · 23/02/2008 15:05

Sorry, a bit of a stupid question.
