My dd was the same daisy and she was in disposables! She was always sore on the botty and had really dry and scabby skin on her legs and body. Doublebase didn't make much difference. She has grown out of it now. Within a week of being out of nappies full time her skin was completely healed.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 22/02/2008 14:52

Sorry, that wasn't very helpful! I just meant to say that maybe it is not the nappies, maybe she just has sensitive skin.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 22/02/2008 14:57

holly, I had a graco pram for DS which started creaking and groaning after only 4 weeks and they wouldn't replace it. They wanted me to send it back (at my expense) so they could service it......I tried to fight for a refund but gave up in the end and gave the bloody thing away I was so fed up with it.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 22/02/2008 14:58

that's OK holly, I knew what you meant. DS had similar issues (but never in the nappy area), and he grew out of it by the time he was four.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 22/02/2008 14:58

my children are just delicate peaches

foxythesnowman · 22/02/2008 15:06

I've been on the Which site and Good Housekeeping and can't find anything of any use. The Greco Teatime was Which's best buy, but I don't know when the tests were done.

You have the choice of buying a new harness for about £7 from M'care, asking Greco for a replacement harness, banging your head against a brick wall, or haranguing Kiddicare.

Ebay it and buy one from Ikea for £14. They are IME by far the best. Though we trip over it everytime I go into my kitchen as it doesn't fold, I wouldn't fold it every time anyway. It is easy to clean and holds LO in securely.

All my posts are really quite bossy. Sorry.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 22/02/2008 15:15

I think I might ebay it tbh. Graco don't do replacement harnesses or harness extensions and I don't want to get a reins type harness as I wanted a highchair with straps that came out by the shoulders so I didn't have to fish them out from the bottom everytime I used it. IYSWIM.

Foxy, you are most helpful and not at all bossy!

Graco are shit!

foxythesnowman · 22/02/2008 15:19

did you get your boiler sorted?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 22/02/2008 15:26

Sort of. The BG dude replaced a part, but said we need a system flush to clean it out otherwise it is going to get worse. It'll be ok for the moment though I think (or hope). The heating will be going off in a couple of months anyway, so hopefully it'll be ok.

Thanks for being angry on my behalf everyone! It has made me less stressed being able to rant! I just hate it when companies fuck you about.

Gonna shut up about my stupid highchair now!

foxythesnowman · 22/02/2008 15:38

Will they do the system flush? We had one when we got a new boiler and it made a massive difference. Also had something called a 'hydroflow' fitted by BG to break down all the limescale.

Euwwwww, I just had some of that Sainsbury's Mexican Chocolate with Chilli. Not a pleasant experience! I know Bumper mentioned it once, and have been curious about it since. It is wrong, wrong, wrong. It makes chocolate an unpleasant experience - which I never thought was possible.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 22/02/2008 15:39

Yep, they'll do a system flush, but it'll cost £700 ! I think my dad could probably do it though, I'll have to see.

foxythesnowman · 22/02/2008 15:41

Anything which isn't in the Homecare contract get a plumber to do. They quoted me about £6000 for a new boiler then they start banging on about 'discounts' for this, that and the other. Still vastly overpriced. They are con-men and should be on Rogue Traders, along with Kiddicare!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 22/02/2008 16:56

No no no Foxy, not chilli chocolate, lavender chocolate this stuff, I get it from Waitrose. Chilli chocolate is just wrong!

Holly what a PITA about your high. I must admit that I am a real complainer when products don't come up to scratch. dh thinks it's really negative and i have too high standards

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 22/02/2008 17:40

it was me with the chilli chocolate foxy....I like it , but then again i like chilli beer as well.

I've just been out and about with the DCs and had a very funny turn. Every time I move my eyes I feel all faint and dizzy, like I'm gonna keel over and my head, as DS so succinctly put it, feels all blurry. And with traffic noise, and DD squealing, and DS babbling, i thought my head was going to explode. Very weird and not at all pleasant. It's calmed down now that I'm not outside and having to look at things, but I don't feel very right at all

DH will be home soon thankfully, and then I think I'm going to lie in a darkened room.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 22/02/2008 17:47

HOLLY....over HERE.

she's a bit norty posting this in the nappies section, but looks like a bargain!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 22/02/2008 18:14

daisy sounds like a migraine, hope you feel better soon.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 22/02/2008 18:26

bumper, can you have migraines without any pain?

I've had this on and off for ages now, but today was by far and away the worst it's ever been.

I'm off to google migraines.

LittleMissNorty · 22/02/2008 18:27

Oh Daisy take it easy....could well be a migraine. At least DH is home tonight

Now DD is getting medicine every 3 hours, she seems cooler - still 38.5ish but I'm much calmer.

Mind you, no dirty nappies today . Have I constipated her? Any ideas / tips on how to help things along?

LittleMissNorty · 22/02/2008 18:27

Get your BP checked as well Daisy then

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 22/02/2008 18:28

and holly, you should post up some piccies of your table project here. Associated Arts and Craft thread here

foxythesnowman · 22/02/2008 18:56

Norty, I always recommend keeping a few ice cubes of dried fruit compot (boil up some dried fruits in a little water and blend). Then you can drop one into her morning porridge. Its very sweet and good at doing what you want it to do.

Bumper, I am doing an Ocado shop as we speak as I have a voucher to use! Am going to check it out - sounds MUCH more palatable.

Daisy, yes, that is weird!!!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 22/02/2008 19:18

Daisy yep you can get painless migraines. DH gets them, they make him feel quite ill, but not necessarily a headache.

foxythesnowman · 22/02/2008 19:20

Oh, the chocolate thing is weird Daisy .. not the migraine ... I'm sorry - v insensitive of me

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 22/02/2008 19:28

Nah, she's definitely a weirdo

hairy toes!

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 22/02/2008 19:34

oi, you lot, I'm listening you know

bumper, that was to be our little secret
