Holly, can you quote them trading standards?

HellHathNoFury · 22/02/2008 12:39

goord lord look at this on their FAQ section:
Question
My order has been returned to Kiddicare, how do I get it sent again?

Answer
You will need to re-order your goods as your order will be cancelled when it is returned to us by the courier.

You need to click here to contact us with your original order number for your refund to be issued, however you will be charged the cost of return which is £20.70 for the fist 10kg and 48p per kilo after.

foxythesnowman · 22/02/2008 12:43

That's how I ended up with a crappy double buggy. Would have cost me too much to return it.

HellHathNoFury · 22/02/2008 12:45

DS still has no teeth. I find this fairly amusing.

I am so OVER dieting... I haven't lost a pound this week and I live on lettuce! ARGH

foxythesnowman · 22/02/2008 12:45

Holly, it doesn't do what its meant to. Do Trading Standards have a website? It ISN'T fit for purpose!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 22/02/2008 12:49

I have just spent ages with a screaming squirming ds trying to adjust the straps to fit him and it's no go. I can just about get them done up without the shoulder straps on, but the whole reason I bought the bloody thing was because it had 5 point straps. Ds is really wriggly and I don't think 3 point straps would be safe enough.

They've got me over a barrel really.

And one of the knees of my 3 week old jeans has just gone! It started off with a small hole and is now a great big rip. I am thoroughly annoyed now.

Is it too early to start drinking?

And farking dp has given up smoking, so I can't even have a crafty fag !

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 22/02/2008 12:50

I shall have some lunch and investigate the trading standards website!

Thanks for listening to me rant!

HellHathNoFury · 22/02/2008 12:53

Holly also write to watchdog - you never know!

LittleMissNorty · 22/02/2008 12:56

Oh Holly - I'm fucking for you. That really pisses me off. I would lose my rag with them, tell them they're a bollocks company, you or any of your M&B group will never use them again and then flog it on e-bay.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 22/02/2008 13:30

I can't keep up with you lot today...there are about six different conversations going on at once

bumper, has she had spinach or anything like that? the blueberries might be doing it, but DD has only had a few of those so I have no experience.

holly, that's shit about the highchair. DD was in a Graco one the other day and I thought the straps were huge on it; even at the shortest setting she could still wiggle out of them. Is it possible that the one you have is faulty. Measure the length of the straps and then e-mail them. Maybe someone else can check against the length of theirs. I've got an IKEA chair, and the straps on it were rubbish (only waist ones) so I bought a harness in mothercare to use, or I'd check for you.

I don't have any other BTP pockets, but annobal sent me a load of fuzzi bunz in bigger (toddler?) sizes. There are some petite sized ones, which might fit your DS if he is a big lad, maybe annobal can advise on that one?

Hi Clara....were you on the AN thread? foodwise, we give DD whatever we are having as well; usually past or rice based or meat and two veg. She loves my homemade soup, and she has on occasion had sausages (only the very best gluten free ones though), and home made oven baked chicken nuggets. She isn't really bothered for breakfast, but when she eats it, it's either hipp baby bisks (weetabix, but lower in salt than standard), weetaflakes or rice crispies (especially good if I want to keep her occupied for ages whilst I get DS ready for school). she loves to munch on bread and butter as well so often has that at breakfast (not too keen on toast).

I often think of catsuitgirl and hope things are OK; she lost a twin early on in her pregnancy iirc. I Catted and e-mailed her a couple of times but never got a reply.

foxy....stick em in front of a DVD; that'll keep them quiet for a bit

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 22/02/2008 13:32

OMFG

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 22/02/2008 13:45

I know daisy, I saw that earlier! And we think we have it bad! I suppose at 16 you'd have more energy than in your 20's or 30's...maybe!

I am on the phone to Trading Standards...hope they can sort the fuckers at Kiddicare out!

Sputnik · 22/02/2008 13:53

Funny, I was thinking of Catsuitgirl too today.

Clara, my DS has suddenly started eating us out of house and home too, batch cooking and freezing is the way forward for us, I'll cook up a load of veg that can be eaten with rice, pasta, cous-cous or whatever. Then you can add cheese or fish (we consume loads of tinned mackerel in this house) or meat to that, or have it seperate. DH gets home too late for us to eat together so I cook later for us, but at the weekends soup is good for everyone, and easy.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 22/02/2008 13:55

No spinach daisy. DD not keen on greens yet. She is loving tomatoes at the moment (she just sucks the seedy bits, can't eat the flesh yet) but has turned her nose up at some lovely fresh homemade bread (not before smothering it with her soggy hands though so I can even eat it).

I wonder about Catsuitgirl too, she did lose a twin Hope everything else worked out for her.

at that new article. Good grief!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 22/02/2008 14:00

I am in the right, but TS say I will have a hard time proving it. Yawn! Can I be arsed to get into a big arguement over the £10-15 it would cost me to send it back to them?

I think I need to go to Mcare and M&P and try out some different highchairs so IO've got something to compare it to.

I might start a thread and see if anyone else has got one and has the same ishoos.

foxythesnowman · 22/02/2008 14:19

Yes, get back to them and tell them you have contacted TS who have confirmed that they are not {umm, struggling to think of the right word as dozy} meeting your statutory rights.

Then see what they say.

If they stand their ground, tell them your next step will be Small Claims Court.

I bet LOADS of people don't return things because of this.

I'll have a look on the Which? site (of which I appear to be subscribing ) and see if there's anything on there.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 22/02/2008 14:25

Thanks foxy.

foxythesnowman · 22/02/2008 14:26

what make and model is it?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 22/02/2008 14:28

It's this one.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 22/02/2008 14:33

holly, I hope you get it sorted out. If it doesn't even fit an 8mo old, how the hell is it going to last for another two or three years.

foxy, I had a phantom which subscription as well. It took me ages to get rid of the feckers, at £6 a mont or whatever it was!

I've put DD in a small fuzzibunz and am amazed to find it stil fits. I might replace all my two parters with pockets and berry plush if it's a success on the scabby skin front!

milkyJammy · 22/02/2008 14:39

Sounds like exactly the same problem we've got with this It's meant to fit 6m - 4y but won't do up round C's waist.

foxythesnowman · 22/02/2008 14:40

Hi Daisy. How is DDs skin? Did it clear up?

foxythesnowman · 22/02/2008 14:42

I think you should both contact the manufacturers.

And ask them to replace it - with the next model up! Manufacturers are generally more generous than retailers.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 22/02/2008 14:47

she's still scabby and sore . I've got a prescription for doubkebase and some oilatum bath emollient.

I used Aveny hair and body wash in her bath last night, and when we were done my hands felt really dry, so lord knows what it does to babies skin

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 22/02/2008 14:47

Unfortunately foxy it is the top of the range model! That's why I bought it. It has the same features as the M&P Prima Pappa or the Chicco Polly, but is £50-60 cheaper. That'll teach me to try and save money ! I have spoken to Graco and they're not interested.

They are all twunts!

Jammy, that is shit too! Is your dd quite small? That seems really odd.

I have just eaten a whole packet of chocolate biscuits and am now feeling less pissed off!

Daisy, hope you get the nappy sitch sorted!
