It will be my parents paying for it (thank god) as it's their house. My dad is tight as arseholes, so he will prob get about a bzillion quotes! Hope it isn't expensive, this house has cost them a bloody fortune!

LittleMissNorty · 20/02/2008 21:36

only (only) a couple of hundred for a flush usually....

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 20/02/2008 21:47

Bargain highchair if anyone hasn't got one yet. Same features as the Chicco Polly or M&P Prima Pappa, but half the price! Think I'm gonna flog my beautiful wooden, but oh so impractical, highchair and get one. It looks much more comfy, safer and easier to clean!

Evening all. I've just finished mt stint of home-working for tonight (looking at criteria for disposal of radioactive waste if anyone's interested [yawn]). Had no internet all day until DH got home from work and fixed it and now too tired to catch up properly, but thought I'd just pop in and show my face. Hoping for another good night's sleep: after a troubled evening, waking a few times between 7 & 11pm, the Jamlet then slept through until 7.45! I woke at 6.30 with the most swollen boobs you can imagine, and one arm of my jamas soaked in milk.

Unfortunately this morning I started itching - a not-infrequent reaction I get to cold viruses. But I went straight out and got some antihistamines and they are helping. Previous times this has happened I've not taken them soon enough and once the itching has built up it's too late, so fingers crossed it won't be so bad this time. Last time it happened (when the jamlet was just a few weeks old) I had a rash all over for about a week. But you can imagine that after having this cold for 3 weeks, and having had an ear infection and still having ear problems, I wasn't best pleased when this started this morning

Sorry for the big whinge. Off to bed now. Sleep well everybody!

milkyJammy · 20/02/2008 22:06

Ooooh, before I go, hope this makes you smile. I got a letter from an ex, with news and photos of his little girl (a VERY belated Xmas letter). His wife is pregnant with their 2nd and he said that when they told the daughter they said it was a secret. But she was so excited she told the grandparents "I've got a secret, I can't tell you, but it's in mummy's tummy and it begins with a B and it goes in a stroller!"

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 20/02/2008 22:16

Awww jammy, how sweet! You can't expect a little girl to keep a secret like that!!

Dp has okayed my pushchair purchase! WooHoo!

Ds is dancing! Dp is playing him "A Message To You Rudy" on his phone and ds is bopping up and down and laughing! He is gonna be a little Ska boy!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 21/02/2008 08:31

LOL at the little girl jammy! She's a better secret keeper than my mother!

Another pushchair Hollyhun?

Urgh, I'm all bunged up, I have a horrid cold and can't breathe. I keep waking up in the night as my mouth is so dry as I am sleeping with it open. Can't even breathe in olbas oil.

HellHathNoFury · 21/02/2008 08:35

Morning all
DS slept through last night! No doubt that's because after his 'tea' at 4pm I gave him an adult size serving of bangers, mash, veg and onion gravy at 7pm.

He's getting dead fat.

Foxy - on the more babies note - DH keeps trying to throw away my pill, and I am happy to as well, just need to secure a permy job as I cannot spend another year unemployed like last time! Contracting can be a bitch.

LittleMissNorty · 21/02/2008 08:40

Morning all

Poor Bumper and Jammy - dose yourselves up and do lots of sitting on the sofa drinking tea.....hope you feel better soon

Fury....glad DS slept through the night. My DD did as well but still knackered

They'll love you Fury, get a perm job and then go on Mat leave

No work today - - but loads of bloody housework

milkyJammy · 21/02/2008 08:42

Morning.

Hugs to poorly Bumper. Hope it doesn't last long. In the meantime look after yourself.

Fury - hope you get that perm job soon then!

Had a fairly good night She woke at 11.30 (DH haffalumping up the stairs!) so I fed her, and she then slept until 5.15, had a feed, and then slept until 7.30 I don't know if I dare say that her sleeping is getting better, but ...

LittleMissNorty · 21/02/2008 08:45

touch wood for you Jammy.....

Fury - have you taken all your photos off of FB?

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 21/02/2008 09:05

morning
bumper poor you it's horrible when you are all bunged up

norty to the housework too I whispers still have a cleaner even though I am sahm it was one of my conditions of giving up work was that she stayed now you can all call me a lazy beetch

fury defo get permenant job but you will have to watch the qulaifying period for mat leave with ds1 I started in the may and then went on mat leave the follwing may I timed it to the day as to when I was entitled to the full maternity pay

jammy hope the rash is ok we had a better night here as well the 3 am feed seems to have gone for the last 3 nights so am hoping it is a permenant departure

we are off to wisley today my strategy for half term is to go out every day

foxythesnowman · 21/02/2008 09:08

Am with you their Andiem! We are having tomorrow at home, but thats it (and I am bloody well looking forward to it!). The children need a day to be left to get on with it together, to re-group and re-bond . That's my strategy for doing limited parenting for one day at least!

Suppose I'd better feed them.

foxythesnowman · 21/02/2008 09:09

'their Andiem'? All that money on education wasted...

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 21/02/2008 09:16

I need a bath! I'm too scared in case the boiler breaks again! I'm going to go to toddler group unbathed and go to my parents' for a shower! My hair is a mess!

All this talk of babies is making me ! I could never have another one, my body couldn't cope. I would end up with a 12lber and a c-section or worse.

All you ill folk have my sympathy...I have tonsilitis [yawn]!

LittleMissNorty · 21/02/2008 09:16

Oh I love Wisley....have a good day...

Working on the cleaner....have an ironing lady and someone to walk the dog but cannot persuade DH to get a cleaner....perhaps I'm keeping the house too clean...

milkyJammy · 21/02/2008 09:21

I want to go to Wisley. When the Jamlet is a little older perhaps ... [wistful]

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 21/02/2008 09:46

foxy I now have a hampton court family season ticket and can take another adult and 3 children in so if you fancied it in the easter hols we could do that
also have family ticket for wisley so can do the same anyone else welcome too!

I love wisley too the shop is fab the cafe is fab aaah can't wait and the sun is shining

foxythesnowman · 21/02/2008 09:47

Norty, now you are back at work, insist DH does his share of the chores (taking turns at washing out the dustbin, cleaning the toilet, cleaning behind the washing machine etc). After 3 weeks ask him about the cleaner again

foxythesnowman · 21/02/2008 09:47

How lovely of you Andiem! Yes please

LittleMissNorty · 21/02/2008 10:05

Good idea Andie - he only does the jobs he chooses atm (although he does quite a lot it has to be said)....he says "we know where each of our strengths lie" .....

LittleMissNorty · 21/02/2008 10:06

Sorry meant Foxy

Just given in to Calpol.....god the screaming....think its the teeth (and not my lack of patience...)

HellHathNoFury · 21/02/2008 10:09

Yes Norty - I am gone from FB - it has caused me too much trouble.
I have left it so I can still do messages but that's it.

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 21/02/2008 10:44

foxy are you on the same easter hols as us 7th to 21st of april ie not actually over easter

foxythesnowman · 21/02/2008 10:50

I think so, Easter Weekend doesn't fall in the Easter holidays
