Foxy yes I forgot about that!
Yes the agency will no doubt do ok out of it. I am trying not to make too much noise about it, I have expressed an interest and might mention it again next month.

The only name I have for any of DS's character traits is 'sod'.

Foxy, what new thing do you want? I think you should buy it. Tell DH it is for your emotional wellbeing and flummox him with girlspeak.

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 19/02/2008 17:35

hi everybody been awol as we had visitors last week have just about recovered but it was lovely. It was my bf and her dh and 2 kids so lots going on

can I ask bfers who is still feeding at night? d2 is still having 2 to 3 feeds in the night as well as 4 feeds in the day and 3 good meals I am thinking he could manage without the night feeds what do you guys think don't want to post on bf board as I know loads of people will say oh carry on blah blah but with ds1 I stopped night time feeds once he hit 6 months and he was fine obviously lo was weaned later but is now 8 months

fury sounds like you really enjoy your new job

hi everyone else enjoy the new pram mhc

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 19/02/2008 19:13

andie, I must admit that after DD went from waking once in the night on the odd occasion to two or three times a night and feeding each time, I decided enough was enough, upped her food intake through the day and then just ignored her at night when stirred. she soon learned to settle herself and even on the nights when she croies rather than just whimpering, I give her a few minutes and by the time I've decided that I need to get up for her, se stops!

reading that written down it sounds a bit harsh, but I know she isn't hungry.

good luck on the permanent job thing fury. I'm sure there is some way they can bypass the agency and avoid pissing them off.

foxy what do you want to buy?

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 19/02/2008 19:41

daisy I am thinking the same way thought i might introduce snacks as well as meals like a big mac

foxy come shopping with me I will get you to buy something reaaallly nice

milkyJammy · 19/02/2008 19:44

The jamlet is still waking, sometimes just once, often twice, occasionally thrice per night. I leave her for a few mins before going through and sometimes she'll settle. Think I might start getting a bit tougher though, as would be lovely not to feed at night, and I'm not convinced she actually needs it.

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 19/02/2008 19:53

I feel the same jammy I don't think he needs it I think he likes it

HellHathNoFury · 19/02/2008 19:58

DS wakes every night without fail at midnight for a feed. If we ignore it he just screams every 15 minutes til he gets one.

I am thinking of putting him on a stomach drip.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 19/02/2008 20:04

lol fury....you've given birth to a human dustbin

andiem, for sheer calhorrific value, you really should be going for a quarterpounder with cheese

how's the new buggy mhc? is it helping with your wrists?

right am off to drink herbal tea and knit.

HellHathNoFury · 19/02/2008 20:11

Well I suppose looking at his parents you could say it was genetic.

foxythesnowman · 19/02/2008 20:12

Back now. Bloody hard work!

Another night feeder here, but thats to do with co-sleeping. When she doesn't sleep with me its once, but otherwise 2/3 times. She is on 3 meals, sort of. TBH I find weaning a right PITA.

I want a breadmaker!

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 19/02/2008 20:18

foxy I know what you mean about the weaning I am fed up of cleaning the kitchen floor

foxythesnowman · 19/02/2008 20:57

clean? are you meant to?

foxythesnowman · 19/02/2008 20:58

Is anyone else reading the 'random act of kindnesss' thread? Tis lovely

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/02/2008 21:01

I have a night waker too. Once, twice or thrice. He wakes, feeds for a while and goes back to sleep. I don't really give him much solid food though. Today he has had some baby cereal for breakfast and a chip for dinner! I keep trying to up the day food, but he doesn't ask for it, so I forget. It doesn't help that he usually sleeps when dd and I eat, so he just gets forgotten about! I'm perfectly happy about it tbh. The longer he keeps mainly on breastmilk the easier it'll be when I start giving him more solids (and my periods haven't returned yet, which is a plus. I put it down to the many feeds)!

I'm not holding out much hope for sleeping through- my dd didn't stop the night feeds til she was 13 months!

Hope you love your new buggy MHC. What did you get in the end?

Daisy, my ds bit me and drew blood the other day. 'Twas v painful for a good few days. It's horrible isn't it? He hasn't done it again though. I think it may have been the shriek I produced when he did it! It frightened the life out of him!

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 19/02/2008 21:04

lol holly, maybe I'll try shreiking at her then

I've resorted to the lansinoh again this evening....thought I was done with that stuff!

hotel babylon beckons....goodnight all!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/02/2008 21:07

Ohhh Hotel Babylon! I love that show! I just asked dp to turn it over, but he won't. He is watching the dull football...BOO HISS!!

I have just put loads of my nappies on usednappies.co.uk and on ebay. Do you think it would be ok to buy some more now? I want to try a Swaddlebees and a Wonderoo and possibly some others. I have only really tried two parters and I want to have a go with some pockets and AIOs.

foxythesnowman · 19/02/2008 21:20

I have just found a bag of lindt eggs (remember those soft filled yum ones?) from last year . Still, they taste OK!

Off to scoff them.

N'night xx

annobal · 19/02/2008 22:19

Been madly ebaying all evening and still only half way! Am getting very sick of it.

Another night feeder here - DS3 goes down at about 6.30 and wakes about 2-3am usually (would probably go back to sleep without a feed but too tired to leave him) and then again at 6.30 am. He's also on 3 meals a day (2 of them with protein usually). I think the night feed is often because he wakes up doing a poo. It doesn't make a difference if I wake him and feed at 10/11ish.

Holly & Daisy, i also love Hotel Babylon - luckily it's on repeat so I can watch it tomorrow night (we watched CSI).

Enjoy your lindt Foxy.

Night all

thanks for the wise words MHC ....its a very trying time...think Bumper is going through the same thing as well....enjoy the buggy

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 20/02/2008 08:53

Morning chicks!

I think the seperation thing is easier when you have two children. Ds will sometimes scream if I leave him, but if dd is in the room with him he is usually quite happy to be left.

Unfortunately that is the only thing that is easier with two!

How exciting MHC! I'd love a Bug, but dp would go absolutely farking mental! He hated the Frog when we had it and he doesn't like the Buzz either. If he had his way we'd have the P&T and a Zapp. He lurved the Zapp!

Finally sold my Ziko, so now I only have 3 pushchairs! I am also hankering after the new M&P Skate. It looks really cool. I know that it would only be a matter of time before I felt like throwing it in front of a large lorry though. M&P pushchairs are shite!

Annobal, hope the ebaying is going well. I had a major clearout yesterday and have put loads on ebay. It took me nearly all day though and bored me almost to tears. I can't imagine how hellish it must be for you, you must have so much to put on.

Hope the Lindt was good foxy! I had a Lindt Santa that I was saving for times of chocolate shortage, but my dd found it the other day and ate it !

Have a lovely day andie! I loved the Tudors at school, it was the only bit of history that I can still remember. Hope your ds enjoys it too.

Dp is off work for a week next month and we are going to the British Museum to see the Terracotta Army exhibition. We are v excited! I heart museums!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 20/02/2008 08:55

Grrrr...dp has gone to work without taking the ebay parcels! I can't even go to the PO myself as I need to wait in for DHL. Silly man!
