Jammy I'm just impressed that you had a few goes at it. If we were interrupted that would probably be it for me!

Just got back from salsa, it was great. We did a salsa class then afterwards we did a quick session of reggaton, think beyonce Crazy in Love! It was great, but my thighs are going to ache. There was a girl there who asked if had a baby as she recognised me and couldn't think where from. Eventually we established that we had met at our surgery when DD was teeny and she was PG and I said something along the lines of was it her first and was amazed to find she had a 2 year old boy, and I was completely in awe as she was in full make up and looked impossibly glamorous but she had reassured me that it was only because her MIL had helped her that morning.

milkyJammy · 18/02/2008 21:52

Well I have just enjoyed the delights of online shopping with Sainsburys. See if I am still delighted on Wednesday morning?

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 19/02/2008 09:15

With sainsburys you can say no substitutions or you can say which things you don't mind substituted. And they put them in a different bag so you can decide quick if you want them or not, and my money always gets refunded in 2 days or less if I send something back.
I have used sainsburys deliveries about once or twice a month or more for almost a year and only ever had one problem - the bread went out of date quickly so I complained and got my money back.
I think they are very good - at least my local one is.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 19/02/2008 10:20

another vote here for sainsbury's. Never had any problems, and the delivery man is always nice and friendly.

Only problem I ever had was with apples that were a bit soft, but we get a veg box delivered now, so I usually just order grocery stuff; nothing fresh.

got a reprieve on my smear test. Given my history of mc, they didn't want to risk it on the off chance that I am pg. Hopefully I'll be back for it in a few weeks as it is long overdue!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/02/2008 10:30

Morning all!

Good news on the smear test front daisy! Probably a good idea to delay it a while, just in case.

I like Tesco delivery round here. They put the subs in an extra bag and refund straight away if you don't want it. If shopping online I do tend to use Tesco the most as you can get really good online discount codes if you search around.

However...I used Adsa once and the delivery driver was FIT! I shall be using them again!

HellHathNoFury · 19/02/2008 11:15

yay for smear test, I hate the things.

DS is a funny soul. Yesterday he decided he really liked avocado and so ate a whole one. After that he had the same pasta dish for dinner that we had. Still waking at bloody night though. I still haven't weaned him off it where he was ill, but he has been fit as a fiddle for a while not so it might be time to just give him water at night!

foxythesnowman · 19/02/2008 11:24

Hey ladieeeez!

Phew for the reprieve Daisy!

I'm a Sainsburys fan, though Tesco's round here have really improved, so I go for whatever works out cheapest. I'm going for Veg box delivery and milkman deliveries (they do all sorts of things now), and so cut the supermarket shop down. Still trying to economise.

Talking of which, how is the down-sizing lifestyle going Fury?

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 19/02/2008 11:31

ouch ouch ouch.

dd keeps biting me. It makes me go .

she's just done it again and has actually drawn blood . i was trying to unlatch her with my finger and she just chowed down harder.

when i got her off i put her on the floor facing away from me and she howled for five minutes so ithink she knew she'd done something wrong. this has happened at least twice a day for the last week.

what can i do to stop her, short of pulling her bloody teeth out!

HellHathNoFury · 19/02/2008 11:48

DS still has no teeth. I am grateful actually, he is fond of biting my nose.

argh the downsizing - we ARE still doing it, it has just been slow! I am so busy atm as I have a 30th, 40th and 60th birthday to either attend/organise - all in Essex - in the next 3 weeks that anything else has kind of just been forgotten.
Also I have stuff up for sale on ebay but no-one is bidding on the bloody stuff!

So yes it is still happening but it's kind of on hold until after March 8th when I have more time to shift stuff!

And we are keeping the gas-guzzler - we'd lose too much money if we sold it right now, so we will revisit selling it next year.

Sputnik · 19/02/2008 12:19

Ouch Daisy. Baby Sputnik did that for about a week after his teeth came through, then just as suddenly stopped. Think he was experimenting.

LittleMissNorty · 19/02/2008 12:31

Hello ladies ....a quick lunchtime visit.

blimey my DDs 2 bottom teeth are like little needles and when she bites my finger it bloody hursts so it much REALLY hurt if its your nipple....

She's still doing a really good job on learning how to be very misreable....her father is doing a good job of teaching her....

Tell me its just a phase and eventually they don't howl every time they are put down.....please?

LittleMissNorty · 19/02/2008 12:34

can you tell I typed that quickly and didn't read it...

I meant and when she bites my finger it bloody hurts so it must REALLY hurt if its your nipple....

HellHathNoFury · 19/02/2008 13:30

This thread is very quiet.
I suspect everyone has now resumed a RL.

Wish I had lol

annobal · 19/02/2008 13:36

Hey Fury! Have just escaped for 5 minutes and made myself an omelette while DCs busy upstairs...

How's work today?

foxythesnowman · 19/02/2008 14:06

I'm around, its half-term so have to do some supervising of small children. We are going swimming later.

Am not feeling very inspired.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 19/02/2008 14:19

I'm around on and off whilst I prepare the dentist scene from Marathon Man for DD later

actually I have a friend seeking refuge from noisy builders and have been doing domestic things like making soup! now we are on an economy drive, I've got to use up all the veggies rather than just throwing them in the compost when past their best.

Got an e-mail from work. Latest I can go back to work is 5th May. They think I need to give them 8 weeks notice, but as far as I'm aware that's only if you don't take your full OML/AML entitlement. If you do then they should just expect you back on the forst day after your leave ends.

So now to broach the subject of part-time hours with them....

foxythesnowman · 19/02/2008 14:23

Good luck with that one Daisy!

HellHathNoFury · 19/02/2008 14:29

work is busy busy.
Got my first release today, spent the morning configuring and now I am testing it. Exciting, lol

I am currently trying to persuade them that they DO want to take me on as a permy for a large sum of money.

LittleMissNorty · 19/02/2008 15:03

so not a phase then?

Sounds good Fury....hope you persuade them

HellHathNoFury · 19/02/2008 15:09

well norty - given that I no longer howl when I am put down, I can assume it's a phase

ahh but seriously, I don't know. Ds is a bit clingy too. I just let him howl, he'll get over it.

HellHathNoFury · 19/02/2008 15:19

I don't know if I'll get to stay here as a permy.
Lots of red tape and stuff going from a contractor to a permy, I think the agencies get a bit put out.

We'll see. Fingers crossed.

foxythesnowman · 19/02/2008 15:28

MHC - a new buggy! That is VERY exciting.

Fury, won't the agency cream off a fee if you go perm?

LOL at Fury not howling - am pleased your sep. anxiety has passed

They just don't like being on their own at the mo. Don't give it a name like seperation anxiety, makes it a proper 'thing'.

God, my brain isn't working and I really can't be arsed going out.

Will check out that Martha Stewart website, thanks MHC
