OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 17/02/2008 17:10

lol foxy!

No, I didn't go to the chemist.......I'm more of an "It's in the hands of the gods" outlook on life. Que sera sera and all that. DH is mumbling about lying about his age to the French Foreign Legion

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 17/02/2008 17:18

Of course, I'm going for a smear test tomorrow and now worried whether it'll be safe

annobal, by my cycle since having Emily, my period isn't due for another four weeks! I'll test in a couple of weeks, if there hasn't been any other symptoms before then.

anyway, enough of that, we went to see The Waterhorse this afternoon. It was fab. Real escapist fun. It was a bit scary in places and DS jumped out of skin more than once, but it was nice having a fun afternoon, with just the two of us. And now DH is cooking a roast dinner (guinea fowl), just to show me that being domestic and looking after baby at the same time is really not that big a deal!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/02/2008 17:40

Evening all!

Nearly finished my table, just have to outline the lettering and let it dry overnight so I can varnish it tomorrow. I let dd do some handprints on it, it looks very cool and of course because I let her help she is insanely proud of it. SHe keeps standing in the kitchen just looking at it and saying "Well done Mummy"!

Thanks for the email annobal. It is really lovely of you to let me have your bed, you are a sweetheart!

PMSL at the pgcy tests! You randy buggers! I shan't be having any more babies. Ever. I am pretty concerned that if I have any more I shall be birthing 12 lbers! Plus sex is really not on the cards atm.

Bumper, well done for the bag making. I think the lovely weather is sparking everyone's creativity!

annobal · 17/02/2008 17:49

LOL at all the pregnancy tests. Good to see that romance isn't dead . I've decided I'm never having sex again. EVER!

Nothing creative here - just up to my ears in stuff! Where did it all come from??? I think we'll need 3 20ft containers the rate I'm going.

Bumper, the bag sounds great.

Foxy, birds? Are they in cages or trees?

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 17/02/2008 18:21

nothing romantic about it annobal; it was purely a diplomacy exercise on my part

foxythesnowman · 17/02/2008 19:23

LOL re. randy - we've only done it (barely) once! Thing is, I kept feeling like a period was coming, even getting cramps and it was bothering me. So even though I knew I wasn't PG I had to rule it out. Then I got some iffy lines on two tests (from the same box). Apparently the vertical has to be as wide as the horizontal, I had an outline on both sides (so effectively two thin lines)but nothing in the middle. Very strange.

Birds are in trees Annobal, I want to encourage them, so got nesting boxes and feeders. My excuse for letting my garden grow wild!

milkyJammy · 17/02/2008 19:33

Ooooh, I forgot to mention the good news from last night! C slept from 7.15 through to 5.10, then from 5.30 to 7.15 Was wonderful

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/02/2008 19:33

foxy! We've done it twice and it was pretty rubbish! We had to stop both times because ds was shrieking! How odd about the tests, if you hadn't read the instructions you'd have thought you were pg.

I'm bored. Dp is taking the boys back and the dcs are playing together. I have loads of housework to do, I've done nothing all day except my table! I usually make dp do one lot of washing up at the weekend, but he hasn't and I know he's not going to. He didn't do any last weekend either . It's the only bit of housework I ever ask him to do and he can't even do that. Twunt!

I'm on strike.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/02/2008 19:35

Well done to the mini jam!

foxythesnowman · 17/02/2008 19:39

I phoned them ti check it out. poor dp, really disappointed.

we might go again next year

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/02/2008 19:41

MORE KIDS??!!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/02/2008 19:51

AIBU to be pissed off with my pg friend? She is going to call her baby William if it's a boy. She is not a really close friend, but we move in the same circles. I am a little bit miffed, but just had to smile and say I didn't mind when she told me. She is really nice and has been phoning me loads lately to chat as none of our other friends have children, so I can see us becoming much closer once her baby is born. I think it'll be a bit odd with our dss having the same name. Hopefully she'll have a girl and not call her Alice!

HellHathNoFury · 17/02/2008 19:58

Evening all
Am very tired. Ds has taken to standing in his cot holding on the bars and shouting at me.

We have spent the day making the house a bit safer as he got upset yesterday when he found the yellow pages was too heavy for him to lift. And his change table makes a very good launching pad.

He is a horror sometimes. But very very funny.

LOL at all the randy talk. Dh has had access to his conjugal (spelling?) rights fairly often... but I am in the (very) good books after - erm - how do I put it, well let's just say spit or swallowed, and now I can do no wrong lol
Sorry if TMI, I am a filthy bitch

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/02/2008 20:06

Bleugh fury, you are filth! You are bad, all the other dp/dhs are going to want one too if they see this!

Your ds sounds just like mine. He is a complete terror, but bloody hilarious at times! His head is a complete state, it looks like I've been beating him! He has three cuts and a massive bruise on his forehead and a huge bump on the back. I feel really bad when he falls over, but what can I do? If we had a playpen he'd just smack his head on the bars. I suppose it's all part of being a boy! Dd was never like this!

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 17/02/2008 20:08

lol fury, he looks like an angel in all your photos of him on FB .

Our house is SOOOOO baby unfriendly. We still haven't got the stair gates sorted out, so I have to resort to huge obstacles in DDs way, but she always manages to get around them.

This weekend I've removed all sorts of detritus from her gob, including some silver foil, leaves off some flowers that had started dropping, two buttons (fgrom where I don't know???), a marble and a teensy tiny bit of lego...you know foxy, the little round ones that are haedlights etc. and she bloody well bites me every time I put my finger in her gob, the little madam.

holly, similarly to you, some friends of mine (again, not close, but in the same circle of friends) called their DS Cameron. I was a bit miffed about it, but it goes really well with their surname and, as they grovellingly explained, he just looked like a Cameron. But they didn't decide till after he was born )after trying out lots of name ideas on him) and they called to ask if I minded before they did it!

Maybe your friend's baby will look like a Colin or something other than William

hi foxy

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/02/2008 20:12

My ds fell down the bloody stairs the other day. You wouldn't think a 7mo could climb stairs, but apparently they can...oops. It was only one stair he fell down, but it was still a shock.

I am forever removing various unsuitbale artifacts from ds's mouth. Mainly stickers. Dd always sticks her stickers to the floor and the sofa and ds spends ages peeling them off and eating them! He also has a taste for wires and licking the tv!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/02/2008 20:15

Hopefully daisy. I know William is quite a popular name atm, but there are bloody thousands of others to choose from! I guess I am the original one because I chose it first!

milkyJammy · 17/02/2008 20:17

Apparently we just ate an inedible part of some mushrooms for tea So if you don't hear from me ever again you know why

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 17/02/2008 20:21

dd just lurves cat nibbles!

jammy, what type of mushrooms were they?

milkyJammy · 17/02/2008 20:25

shitake - DH has just been reading about them on the internet and it said the stalks aren't edible. Well we just ate them!

Mind you a few months ago we ate some "black death" (I think) mushrooms raw, and then read the label which said they were had to be cooked.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 17/02/2008 20:27

I think you'll be OK and that they are inedible as in not nice rather than inedible as in poisonous.

I use shi-take stalks all the time and haven't had any ill effects.

Now if it was mock chantrelles you were after eating; then I'd be worried!

milkyJammy · 17/02/2008 20:28

Anyhoooo, I'm off to spend time with DH. Night all.

milkyJammy · 17/02/2008 20:29

(I don't think there's any problem wither Daisy)
