Geeerrrrooofffff our thread sputnik!

Actually, well done you

milkyJammy · 14/02/2008 11:18

Hi all. Had a nice snooze in bed with C once DH had gone to work And just done some chores etc and now stopped to give C some BF.

Meant to say congratulations to Bumper for her announcement the other day. Well done you! Afraid I've been rather reticent in that department myself, and is leading to some tension. I do want to resolvev things but is difficult, particularly when I'm feeling so crap.

The ABs are having a little effect on my ear (seem to be having more of an effect on ) in that it doesn't feel quite so bunged up, but still deaf in one ear. Made baby/toddler group difficult yesterday as when the other mums spoke to me I couldn't hear what they were saying, and I couldn't tell how loudly I was talking when I was playing with C making all the noises for the farm animals etc. I think I might make an appointment for the doc for Monday in case it hasn't cleared up by then, can always cancel if it has, but at the moment it's not looking good.

Sputnik · 14/02/2008 12:18

Sorry to hear you're still suffering with that Jammy. Have you tried steam inhalations etc?

justbeme · 14/02/2008 13:30

Hi all - just quickly using DD1s computer - mine is still broken - havent caught up - any news?
L has cut her first tooth, but still not really rolling or anything.
Oh and Ive given her thrush in her mouth from BFing - yuk!

justbeme · 14/02/2008 13:40

Just had a quick scan -
sorry you're not feeling too good Jammy
Well done Bumper
and thats about all I quickly picked up in between the pram talk!!
Well, looks like I may be offline for some time - so I'll keep dipping in and out!
Take Care x

Sputnik · 14/02/2008 13:57

Hi, if you're still there JBM. Hope you get your computer fixed soon.

annobal · 14/02/2008 16:02

Afternoon everyone. Had DS at emergency drs this morning as he had a high temp and was afraid of chest infection. All clear tho so went in to get his passport but got the wrong profession to witness so have to go back next week .

Anyway, I've just got home and have very sore feet. Does anyone want a junior bed and mattress (free)? We're not taking ds2's with us.

BTW happy valentines! Bumper, I got another very lovely charm for my bracelet.

annobal · 14/02/2008 16:03

Sputnik, how was your workout?

Sputnik · 14/02/2008 16:22

Good thanks, I'm feeling much more energised now I started exercising again, it's just a question of getting down to it. If anyone is interested in some leg/bum toning exercises I have some pdfs, just email me: sputnikinspace at gmail.com

Sputnik · 14/02/2008 16:33

How's the running going Annobal? Are you finding time with all the packing up to do?

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/02/2008 17:36

Hey Sputnik - am of your willpower & energy. The most I manage these days is a walk with the pram even tho I have a gym membership all paid for.

Annobal - when are you going back? Where will you be living? We may be having another holiday in Adelaide - money permitting- in July. So if you're there by then we can have a MN meetup Down Under.

annobal · 14/02/2008 19:01

Am also of your energy Sputnik. Running not going too well - when I run I keep getting headaches (and I have a whole raft of other excuses too ).

TB absolutely. We're going on 27th March and love to see you there. We're living in Beaumont in Adelaide. How long have you been back? Where do you stay when you're there?

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 14/02/2008 19:29

Evening all, just popping on quickly. Are you all having lovely V-day celebrations? What was your charm annobal?

Jammy sorry you are still feeling ill, and things are not great in the jiggy department. I'm kind of relieved though, I assumed all of you were now at it like rabbits now I was abnormal, but after several conversations I realise that I am not the worst wife in the world, denying DH his conjugal rights.

It does cause tension though because the men can just never understand what it is like for us. For us though it was just spontaneous. I was in the bath and DH came in and I persuaded him to join me. (helps that the house we are in has a bath like a swimming pool!)

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/02/2008 20:11

On ya Bumper! Just had bath with DH too - not very romantic tho, DD was in there with us and her rubber ducky collection.

Got back 3 weeks ago Annobal. We had rented an apartment on short term lease so we just off Rundle & Union St. Great location but the baby did tend to cramp our style. We will stay with friends or family if we go over in July as will just be for few weeks. Will you be near Burnside - we took DD swimming at the pool there & it was great.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 14/02/2008 20:19

Annobal you seem to be taking this move remarkably in your stride

Hi T, how are you doing?

DH is making me a nice V-day meal of.... cheese on toast!

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/02/2008 21:35

Hi Bumper - I am stressing about nursey/ chilminders for DD. Go back in April & DH will hold the fort till school hols. Need childcare for Aug so started looking this week - have tried 2 childminders & 1 nursery so far & no places. How can it be this hard?

annobal · 14/02/2008 21:53

Well done Bumper! Must shield pooter from DH as he might go getting ideas (not the cheese on toast )

Funny Bumper, am getting more stressed about our trip to Manc tomorrow than I am about moving everyone to oz. Just remind me of this in a couple of weeks...

TB, we're really close to Burnside - just down from the shopping centre and about a 10 min walk from the pool you're talking about. Email me (my mn name @mac.com) and i'll give you my contact details in oz if you do make it. Lovely spot you stayed in. Good luck with the nursery/childminders. When I just had DS1, I went to see a nursery nearby - people had their not yet conceived babies names down.

Any takers on a junior bed and mattress? It's going free if you want it (please).

Have a great weekend - will catch up on Sunday.

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/02/2008 22:31

Annobal - have e mailed you. Anyone else fancy a coffee in Adelaide in July?

HellHathNoFury · 15/02/2008 09:23

Would love to but I think I am going to be stuck in the UK lol!
I used to Live in Glen Osmond...all this Burnside chat is making me dead nostalgic.

Sputnik · 15/02/2008 10:27

Morning everyone.

Well Baby Sputnik had a massive dinner yesterday evening and slept through from 8:30 til 7

Which was fortunate as me and DH had a sushi party and broke our no wine in the week rule.

I am a new woman!

Re finding the energy to exercise, I really do have more energy when I do exercise, so it's just a question of getting started. I think it helps though that the weather is getting nicer here. Running is really not my thing though, think it would give me a headache too.

Pumpkinhead · 15/02/2008 11:10

Hiya, just popping on to say hello. I never seem to get the time to chat. You girls are clearly better at this malarky than I am. Or else I just have one whingy baby! Does anyone have any advice on breastfeeding. I say my HV yesterday and she said I am feeding my LO too much and that I need to drop my feeds down to twice a day. I am currently feeding about 6 times a day (24hrs) but only for about 4mins a time. Any thoughts? Also any tips for a clingy baby? I never get any time on here!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 15/02/2008 11:17

Bollocks to your HV is all I can say pumpkinhead. DD is still pretty much demand bfed and has probably 5 or 6 feeds a day. If you are bfing how can it be too much? Unless you are pinning the LO down and forcing your boob into their mouth . Ignore ignore ignore is what I say. Do what you think is best.

Btw, it's not that we are better, we just have more neglected children!

Pumpkinhead · 15/02/2008 11:34

Hi Bumper! I did wonder about it really. But interesting to hear that you are feeding about the same as me. I think I'll carry on as I am for now then.

Just given LO a blueberry and apple purree desert which was a BIG mistake - it is coming out all over the floor. Thats what happens when I'm not on 24hr guard

foxythesnowman · 15/02/2008 11:44

my pooter is where i bf. therefore you should be feeding MORE Pumpkin

Sounds to me if she is feeding little and often then she is feeding to quench her thirst. If you are at the point where her nutrition is provided by the food she is eating, then its perfect.

I second what Bumper said. Bollocks.

Morning all!
