Thanks Foxy. Must set myself up so that I can feed at the laptop. Im sick of watching crap tv.

Hope you are all having good days. I am so looking forward to the weekend. Not that I have anything exciting happening, but it means I wont be doing this alone.

Pumpkinhead · 15/02/2008 11:52

Better go and deal with a grizzly baby. Will try and pop on later and catch up properly with the chat. Thanks for the advice x

Sputnik · 15/02/2008 12:32

Nice to see you again Pumpkinhead. I agree with the others, milk is still the perfect food for babies younger than a year so I don't really see how it could be too much. Seems a strange thing to say.

Having said that, I'm having a hard time getting mine interested in milk these days, in the last couple of weeks he has really got into "food" in a big way. I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable atm as I've got a backlog of milk from last night that I can't persuade him to have, might have to express a bit.

Hi Foxy, I bf at the computer too

Sputnik · 15/02/2008 12:42

Oh and grumpy babies: my 2 top tips are door bouncers and Baby Einstein

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 14:50

Afternoon!

Just caught up with the last few posts...

...Phead- Quite frankly your hv has been spouting a crock of shit! Look at this. A 7-8 month baby should be getting almost all their calories from breastmilk and should continue to until 12 months. A hv told me to significantly reduce ds's milk feeds the other day. The best thing to do in such situations is smile and nod and then do what you want! She also told me that ds needs to be on 3 solid meals a day by 9 months otherwise he will have speech difficulties! Also a crock of shit! LLL don't really recommend introducing solids until 12 months. Solid food at the moment isn't really important, just go with the flow!!

Hope everything is going well with the packing annobal. How exciting! Hope it all goes well.

Hope everyone else is ok.

I am living in a house of stress and chaos. Dd has regressed with the potty training. SHe was completely dry all day and now she wets herself at least twice a day. It is driving me crazy. She also keeps helping herself to food from the kitchen all time. I can't put anything out of her reach because my kitchen is so old and crap I only have 2 cupboards and they are both on ground level. SHe keeps raiding the fridge and changing the temp so everything in the fridge keeps freezing. Ds is driving me mad. I can't leave him alone for 5 secs as he just grabs anything he can get hold of and knocks it over or empties it or sticks it in his mouth. Everytime I leave the living room he climbs up on the computer and pulls the keyboard and mouse off the table and pulls the wires out.

It has taken me abput half an hour to write this post and have to go now coz ds has fallen over and is screaming and covered in snot!

foxythesnowman · 15/02/2008 14:58

Hullo Holly. Are you OK?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 15:08

Hey foxy!

I'm fine, just pissed off and need a break! I haven't had 5 mins away from my children for weeks...literally! They even come in the bath with me and sleep with me...TBH I've had enough! I feel really bad as well because I keep shouting at them and it's not really their fault, I'm just feeling ratty!

Any tips? You are super woman, being able to cope with 4!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 15:13

Ahhhh!! Ds is asleep!

milkyJammy · 15/02/2008 15:16

Afternoon!

Holly, deep breaths, put the kettle on, and relax! You're doing a grand job and I don't know how you do it with no breaks, I really don't. Hat's off to you. And to the lovely Foxy of course for managing (and marvellously at that!) with 4.

Got a friend coming over soon. She hasn't seen C since she was a week old (has been travelling the world). Do you think she'll notice any difference? Hoping she's bringing lots of pics, be nice for me not to be the one showing off the photos for a change.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 15:21

Have got a cuppa and a cookie and feeling better! WHen I wrote that first post dd had just wet herself and was in the process of raiding the biscuit tin and ds was trying to climb up my leg and grab the mouse out of my hand!

Hope you have a lovely time with your friend jammy. I expect she'll notice a difference, probably in you as well as dd!

HellHathNoFury · 15/02/2008 15:24

hullo all

Holly don't really know what to say
I honestly don't know how SAHM's cope. I find it hard to get time to do stuff like housework etc and I am quite exhausted, but I honestly feel I have it easy compared to a SAHM.

I have a manic weekend coming up, and am so tired I am struggling to cope. DS is back to waking 4 times a night.

I gave him a chicken korma with basmati rice and naan bread for dinner last night. He seemed to like it.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 15:33

God fury, I don't know how you do it! I struggle to get dressed before 9am! You must be soooo knackered.

Ds is asleep and I have the opportunity to do some housework, but I can't be arsed! MN is much more important!

I'm glad for the fact that dp has been home early the past few evenings and has been watching the dcs whilst I do some chores. He now knows why I never seem to get anything done. In the few minutes I was hanging the washing up yesterday ds fell over twice, was screaming manically and had wiped snot all over dp's tie and dd was running round in circles like a crazy fool and singing twinkle twinkle really loudly.

He went and made me a cup of tea when I got back and told me to sit down for a while!

Sputnik · 15/02/2008 17:38

Hang in there Holly

DD did that with the potty training too, it was just a phase and she went back to being dry again, she still ocasionally wets herself, usually if she's coming down with something. It's annoying but better if you just take a deep breath and don't say anything.

Can you get a play pen or something for DS?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 18:52

Hi SPutnik!

Glad my dd isn't the only one. I'm sure it's just an attention thing. Ds is being VERY demanding atm! I think I'm going to go back to bare botty and babylegs with her for a while to save on the washing!

Is anyone else about this evening?

foxythesnowman · 15/02/2008 19:19

Yes, I'll be here all weekend as DP away again.

Glad I caught you Holly, I just wanted to say that I found going from one to two children really hard, physically and emotionally. Because I basically had two babies, I didn't have the toddler/baby situation and the jealousy/attention seeking behaviour which some do. It is REALLY hard, but you are super-strong and a great Mummy and you will get through this.

Hi Sputnik

LittleMissNorty · 15/02/2008 19:34

Evening all

Holly - I agree with everyone else - think you are oing an amazing job and must have the patience of a saint - I really admire you SAHMs - with Fury on that one....

My DD is learing how to be miserable atm....she has screamed more in the last week than she has in the past 8 months.....she stops as soon as she's picked up...and its uncontrollable sobbing not just a little whinge .....god I wouldn't last 5 minutes if she didn't go to nursery 3 days a week

foxythesnowman · 15/02/2008 19:36

Hey Norty! How are you?

LittleMissNorty · 15/02/2008 19:37

fine thanks Foxy - glad its Friday?

How are you? And DCs? You haven't been around much recently

LittleMissNorty · 15/02/2008 19:37

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 19:38

Evening foxy! Thank you! I shall get through this, it just seems to be a really hard stage. Ds is too young really to be so mobile and he has no common sense at all. I have to be alert all the time and it is wearing me out!

Do you find it easier or more difficult when dp is away? I have to say I love having mine around, but he is a bit useless and sometimes when he is away I find things run a lot more smoothly!!

LittleMissNorty · 15/02/2008 19:38

don't know how that happened!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 19:39

Hello as well norty! It takes me so long to write posts these days I xpost with people and get all confused!!

LittleMissNorty · 15/02/2008 19:40

I just post twice

On DHs laptop as well and I type crap on a lap top

LittleMissNorty · 15/02/2008 19:44

Off for dinner now....have good evenings everyone....and relaaaaaxxxxxx Holly

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 19:47

That used to happen to me on dp's laptop. Don't know why.

Just looking on ebay for a bed for dd. Don't know how much they are supposed to cost. I want a white one, but they all seem really expensive and then you've got to add in the cost of a new mattress as well. Might just take a trip to Ikea!
