Zoo trip sounds lovely Fairy. Glad DS is getting better.

Miserable here - I've got earache (all bunged up and partially deaf on one side and it really hurts) and am feeling v.sorry for myself and have argued with DH at least twice today. Am so about it all.

Sputnik · 09/02/2008 20:01

Hi everyone, Trace, at least it sounds like they're doing something to help, I hope with the nurse visits you'll be able to get a bit of a break, take care of yourself.

Tallulah, welcome back

Jammy, wishing you freedom from snot asap

milkyJammy · 09/02/2008 20:06

Cheers Sputnik

Sputnik · 09/02/2008 20:26

I'm a bit this evening as Baby Sputnik was really unhappy earlier, acting tired but didn't want to sleep, didn't want to bf. Then I thought I'd see if he wanted a bit of yogurt before trying bed again and he ended up polishing off 1/2 an adult-size yogurt, 1/2 a banana, slice of toast with pear and apple spread and ricotta and a bit of pear. Then he went happily off to bed. Just wondering if my milk was tasting funny, or I smell or something.....

Sputnik · 09/02/2008 20:35

Also wanted to say, well done with the pilates Daisy. I have started doing exercises this week and already the sore hips I've been getting in bed since I was pg have practically gone. I know it make sense to exercise, but then I forget and it seems too much effort, but really it's more effort waking up stiff every morning. Anyway, rambling here, but exercising is worth it!

LardyMardyDaisy · 09/02/2008 20:35

oh well, we bucked the tend by having pork chops, new potaotes and cabbage for tea. DD less than impressed with the cabbage, but then after her dirt eating extravaganza earlier food obviously isn't the same!

annobal I signed up to the run a 5K thread! Are you still on there? If so, how's it going? I'm starting my training on Monday, but fitting in 3 sessions a week will be difficult when DH is away.

LardyMardyDaisy · 09/02/2008 20:38

sputnik, he is probably just being fickle; babyboo has days where she feeds more than others, and is preferring food through the day now.

Pilates is great, and the lady who takes the class does personal trainer sessions for only £15 an hour! I thought I'd be paying at least £30, so bargain there! I'm going to do a few sessions with her to make sure I've got all the positions right, then back to doing the class.

Going to desperately try to diet as well, so with my running....I'm expecting good things!

Off to watch casualty, then an early night. We have a big day out planned for tomorrow so I need some rest!

Sputnik · 09/02/2008 20:45

I've re-started (for nth time) dieting, and seem to have done ok for the last week. For some strange psychological reason I find I can only stick to dieting while exercising as well. I'm also making an effort to drink tonnes of water. It seems (cautiously optimistic) to be paying off.

I booked our flights today to come to UK at the beginning of May. It's my Grandma's 90th, and we're planning to do a proper family photo, I would like to look presentable by then!

milkyJammy · 10/02/2008 13:03

We have just been to the pet shop. We needed cat litter but took a look at the rabbits etc while we were there. The jamlet seemed quite taken by the bunnies

justbeme · 10/02/2008 13:33

Hi all - havent caught up - but am currently without internet connection - am using DD1s computer at her house quickly - Tried to upload a Tesco internet security disc and now cant even use my PC without the internet - aghhhhh!!
So it could be a week or so before I can speak again
Take Care xxx

FairyFay · 10/02/2008 18:40

Hi everyone, will catch up later but just a quick msg for Andiem - DS was a lot better yesterday but he has had a bit of a dodgy tummy again today. We'd love to come over tomorrow but I completely understand if you'd rather postpone - I will leave the decision entirely to you. Off to do supper but will be back later.

FairyFay · 10/02/2008 18:42

Hmm, that didn't take long - has everyone been out in the sunshine today? It was a fab day here.

Sorry to hear about your pooter jbm, you'll be missed, come back soon......

annobal · 10/02/2008 20:15

Well done Daisy! Haven't done much training unfortunately so haven't been on the thread (I did a few runs and put my back out ).

Am madly ebaying at the moment, we sorted the garage yesterday and found a lot more there than we thought (or can fit in a 20 ft container)

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 10/02/2008 20:19

jbm hope you can get back online soon

sputnik I have been terrible since xmas but I haven't put any weight back on am going to have a concerted effort to get back on track after half term

FairyFay · 10/02/2008 20:22

That would be lovely, thanks Andiem. Depending on traffic, we will see you about 1 tomorrow. Please tell DS1, that I promise to keep DD well away from his room!

milkyJammy · 11/02/2008 09:11

I feel so lame! This should be my 2nd Monday back at work and I've had to ring in sick. I'm sitting here with bad earache, deaf in one ear, and still coughing etc. So I've given in and am going to the doc's today.

At least DD has gone to nursery so I can bung some clothes in the machine and go back to bed (she may have slept fairly well last night, but I didn't)

bubble78 · 11/02/2008 09:34

hello ladies just a quick question my dd was born 6th july 07 and is still not able to sit up unless supported by us or cushions when we hold he in the sitting postion she quite happily looks around at things so i know her neck muscles are strong she also isnt keen on being on her tummy al though getting better at it she just cant lift her head up for very long so gets upset
should i be worried ????? have posted on the born in july 07 aswell but no reply on there as yet

FairyFay · 11/02/2008 10:00

Hi Bubble, my DS is 4 weeks older than yours and is sitting and crawling although he still often topples - but there are all sorts of babies doing and not doing different things on here. If u r worried maybe u could call your hv or gp to put your mind at rest? {grin]

HellHathNoFury · 11/02/2008 10:08

Hi Bubble, can't answer your question with any real knowledge to back it up but I second Fairy, give your HV a call

HellHathNoFury · 11/02/2008 10:12

I am really bad
I just launched an attack at my 90 year old grandmother for not coming to my mothers surprise 60th. I offered to collect her, put her up in a comfy hotel and take her home and everything and she said no, shee feels to ill.
At that point I lost it and said that mum does so many things for people and has always been so kind and no-one in her family can get off their goddamn lazy arses and see her for just ONE DAY.

She said she's sorry but she feels too ill.

Too ill my arsehole. She is flying to australia 3 days later, I did say so how come you are well enough to spend 30 hours getting to Aus but not 2 hours to see your own daughter on her day?
I lost it with her. And I don't regret it either.

HellHathNoFury · 11/02/2008 10:43

Sorry to hear you are ill Jammy.
Put your feet up and watch some cruddy tv and eat cauliflower cheese

LittleMissNorty · 11/02/2008 11:07

Morning ladies

Jammy - I had my 2nd week back to work off as well as K was ill....it can't be helped. Hope you get some sleep and the GP can help.

Fury - I've got a grandmother like that ....haven't seen in her years now......

Well K's poo's are solid again so back to nursery tomorrow. She is sending me mad at the moment - she's getting very fustrated not being able to move and its pissing me off as well.....she's in her bouncer watching TV atm and if she bounces much harder, she's gonna hit the ceiling

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 11/02/2008 11:09

Oh bloody hell! I just composed a long post about my bloody selfish grandmother, but I deleted it! I was sympathising with you fury! I would have lost it too!!

Hope you are ok jammy. Everyone is ill lately! Have a duvet day and drink lots of hot drinks xx

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 11/02/2008 11:11

Hey norty, glad dd is better.

I haven't seen my grandmother in years either! She lives about 30 mins down the road and has met dd once and has never met ds! She is just not interested!

LittleMissNorty · 11/02/2008 11:42

My grandmother doesn't know of DDs existence and she only found out about my wedding by accident cos someone opened their big gob ...sad but there you go...
