love name btw Holly

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 11/02/2008 11:53

Thanks, I did just put the kettle on, but then dicovered I've run out of teabags! Noooooooo! I can't even go out and buy any coz I have to wait in for DHL! How am I going to cope all day without a cuppa?

Ds can escape from the Bumbo! He leans over one side, pops the opposite leg out, puts his head on the floor and twists over popping the other leg out! He is a little bugger!

I took one of these back to Mamas & Papas yesterday because the mechanism had jammed and they gave me a £69 gift card. Very good considering my mum bought it for me from a car boot sale for £4!! Result!

Holly my grandmother can't remember DS's name and was upset because I didn't call him rory.

When I said I'd go visit her she said yes, it would be nice to see you and...err... 'dh's baby'
!!

HellHathNoFury · 11/02/2008 12:05

MHC...
I can't, sorry. I love the bugaboo.
I have had 4 prams since trying to find a competitor and they all fail in one way or another.
The only reason I am getting rid of mine is because it folds up just too big. Even then I am dragging my feet and refusing to sell it until I find the 'perfect replacement'

I have never seen a micralite in the flesh for sale, only a couple of people using them. I don't know if you will get to have a go - perhaps you can call them for stockists?

having said that... the phil and teds is definately the closest. But it's a bit harder to push, heavier, and the sun canopy isn't as big. But otherwise it's good. I want the new vibe one though. And I think I will. But later.

They are heavy but pretty easy to fold. I am inpressed so far. The only other thing I don't like about the P&T is the brake.
I am going to get a vibe when the prices come down. I have come to the realisation that I am a hun.
the gecko is smaller and I can't remember the other differences. Have you looked on ebay for prices or do you want new?

I hated the Bee! I went to look at one in a pram shop and it was horrid, it looks like a special needs buggy. I need big pneumatic wheels as well. All the stroller types I've tried I have hated (except for the Zapp which is a work of genius)! I find them so hard to push and they feel cheap and nasty.

I love the Vibe! I don't think I'll need a P&T for much longer though as dd will walk quite far now.

HellHathNoFury · 11/02/2008 12:33

I didn't like the bee either.

TBH I love my bugaboo. I might not even sell it, it's a joy to push. I have hesitated for ages because it's brill - and I would recommend getting one. They handle the mud pretty well too, we found if you flip the handle into '2 wheeled mode' you can even get it through a quagmire no problem.

Holly had a frog perhaps she can help??

milkyJammy · 11/02/2008 12:44

Afternoon ladies. Feeling a bit left out with all this pram talk, but nevermind.

OK, opinions please:

I just saw the nurse at our GP surgery about this ear ache. Yes I have an infection and should have ABs. But oh dear I'm BF and a trace will come through in milk. (Note she actually said a trace). So she gave me amoxicillin, with the suggestion to wait another 24 hours before taking them as it might start to get better on its own.

Now bearing in mind it's driving me demented and has been all weekend, do I really want to wait? In my experience ABs normally take 24+ hours to show any effect, so I could be putting myself in for another 48 hours of suffering... But I obviously want to do right by the jamlet too. Oh and the pharmacist said absolutely the strongest pain killer I could have was paracetamol, even though they're not really doing much good, so am I imagining it that when she was quite tiny I took paracetamol/codeine PLUS nurofen for toothache?

milkyJammy · 11/02/2008 12:49

Oh and should have said love the new name Holly, shame about the teabags.

Sad to hear about uninterested (great)grandparents. I had really good relationship with my grandparents and can't imagine anything otherwise. One set lived next door and I therefore saw them almost every day until they died when I was 18. I do think it's a shame that they never got to see DH and now DD, but seeing as they would have been in their 70s when I was born I guess it wasn't likely to happen.

Jammy, take the abs and bf! I went throught this when I was bfing dd. I had a tooth absess and had to take abs. The dentist told me not to bf for 7 days. I was really upset and went and spoke to the pharmacist. She said it would be fine to take the abs and carry on bfing as only a small amount of the drug would get into the milk.

Have a look here. Amoxillin is fine to take.

milkyJammy · 11/02/2008 12:59

By the time I read you rmessage Holly, I'd found this and had 99.9% decided to start taking them. But thanks, I shall go get a drink and pop a pill right now!

lol

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 11/02/2008 13:04

!

Oh and you can take ibuprofen for the pain jammy. It is fine to take whilst bfing and will help with any swelling too.

HellHathNoFury · 11/02/2008 13:05

Holly are they treating you any better at that group yet?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 11/02/2008 13:07

I know mhc! I wish these people would actually do some research and training into what is ok to take. I'm sure there have been thousands of women who have unnessecarily given up bfing because of bad advice from drs.

Right...Frog! I had one for about 2 weeks and it was really nice. Easy to push and looks lovely, but I found it really difficult to collapse. It took me about 2 hours to work out how to do it and I hated the fact it had a two part fold. It was a right fag to put in the boot, so I flogged it and bought a Zapp!
