Another here! You should've seen her vacuum up her first fish pie last night.

LardyMardyDaisy · 07/02/2008 10:56

I was referring to assorted detritus off the kitchen and living room floor actually

bumper, you still there?

Are you feeling better about things today? You sounded really down on your other thread?

Hi there!

HV just been to do developmental check on C. All seems OK, though I have to get her hips checked and we are being referred for orthopical assessement to be sure.

milkyJammy · 07/02/2008 11:18

Fish pie good
But need something super easy for tea tonight as DH is making it

LardyMardyDaisy · 07/02/2008 11:23

beans on toast them jammy?

I hope things are OK with the jamlet's hips. I'm not sure when we get our check done; red book says 8-12 months.

FairyFay · 07/02/2008 11:24

There you all are, I lurked on the old thread for ages before realising it was full . I was worried that everyone had gone off and got RLs.

FairyFay · 07/02/2008 11:30

Jammy, the HV had concerns over DDs hips as her leg creases were really uneven, so they referred her for an x-ray. All turned out fine though, so hopefully all will be well with baby jammy too

milkyJammy · 07/02/2008 11:31

I don't think there's a problem. HV said she couldn't detect anything, but that the creases on one side were longer than the other so it's protocol to get a GP check.

milkyJammy · 07/02/2008 11:33

A friend from when we lived up NOrth had a DD who had hip problems that didn't get picked up and she ended up having operations and being in plaster for months and months so am glad to get any concern checked - and hopefully quashed.

foxythesnowman · 07/02/2008 11:38

Both my girls had uneven creases, and a bit of a 'clunk' at the birth hip-check. DD1 was X-rayed, DD2 Ultra-sounded, but both were fine if that helps Jammy

Daisy, where is Bumpers other thread? I can't find it, can you link please? Is she OK? Bumper, are you OK?

I just got my veggie box, included my free baby box. Am rather excited!

HellHathNoFury · 07/02/2008 11:40

Morning all

DS is fine...now
the GP did some tests and found that he was having really violent abdomen spasms brought on by all the muck running down his throat from the cold he has.
Because of his refusal to eat it was getting worse and worse because his tummy was spasming on nothing except mucus. So he was in a lot of pain which also explained his peculiar sleeping position (foetal but kind of on his head face down). And the screaming, no doubt.

So he gave him some anti spasmodics - oh my god within two hours his temp was down, he guzzled 4oz (an acheivement he has hardly had anything in days) and was back to trying to terrorize the dog.
I am very relieved.

I never thought a cold could do that.
So anyway he is still ill but the GP says another 24 hours and he should feel almost 100% again.

foxythesnowman · 07/02/2008 11:41

Phew! Fab news, really pleased DS is OK Fury!

FairyFay · 07/02/2008 11:44

Great news Fury, he must have been feeling really miserable

HellHathNoFury · 07/02/2008 11:45

Yes it's been horrible watching him get worse and worse but not being quite sure why.

He is back at nursery today - so far so good, they haven't called! I love my GP he's brill, he spent 25 mins with him giving him a really thorough check up and apparently (well I was already at work by the time he woke up) he was crawling around the floor this morning causing mass destruction and shouting.

You never think you would miss the lack of yelling and destruction but you really really do.

milkyJammy · 07/02/2008 12:23

Glad DS is OK Fury. And glad is wasn't anything nastier than side effects of a cold - though from your description it was plenty nasty enough

LardyMardyDaisy · 07/02/2008 12:29

fury, I'm so pleased your DS is on the mend It's horrible when they are that poorly

foxy, here. Bumper, i hope you don't mind me linking it; it sounds like you could use some support.

hey fairy, I guess the need for a new thread kind of crept up on us again!

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 07/02/2008 12:41

Yes jammy it was weird! I knew he had a cold but he seemed far worse and was clingy and screamy for a couple of days, but then yesterday his temp went to over 102, he had a nosebleed and blood in his nappy and so obviously we were dead scared, can you believe it, all part of the cold?!
