Arse, she's pissed all over the carpet while I wasn't paying attention!

Still, what's new?

LardyMardyDaisy · 07/02/2008 16:55

I'm sitting in the chair typing with babyboo in the baby rucsac She thinks it's the best and funniest thing!

We're off to the Lake District on Sunday for a walk so I thjought I'd better try her out in the thing beforehand. After initial screaming while I sorted all the straps out, she seems very relaxed and happy up there!

Cool, Daisy

Sputnik · 07/02/2008 17:10

Congratulations Fury. So are you not doing so well with the weightloss Jammy? How's the walking going?

I have to admit I slacked off, but I started exercising again this week (although I still can't walk with this stupid toenail) and am trying to be good with the diet. I actually bought some exercise DVDs too, though god knows when they'll actually arrive from the states. I know from past experience that actually spending money is quite a good motivator for me, for some reason.

LardyMardyDaisy · 07/02/2008 17:27

well done on the weight loss fury.

I've cut back on my alcohol by a LOT, but have upped my sweet consumption by way of compensation

wish I could say the lack of bread worked fr me, but it didn't. When I stopped eating gluten, I actually put ON weight

milkyJammy · 07/02/2008 17:44

weightloss not been good, i lost the plot a bit, and haven't been walking while poorly. Will try to pull it all together again after weekend though.

milkyJammy · 07/02/2008 17:44

but well done fury

annobal · 07/02/2008 17:45

Well done on the weight loss Fury. Cutting out bread works for me too - must start again... Too much bread also gives me thrush (sorry tmi).

Jammy - DS2 is a labrador in training. DS3 just coughed up a chunk of banana he ate half an hour ago and DS2 picked it up, smelt it, said 'mmn banana' and ate it .

milkyJammy · 07/02/2008 17:55

The jamlet was playing with her own vommed up milk earlier

LardyMardyDaisy · 07/02/2008 18:03

lol annobal {bleargh]

babyboo loves playing with her siked up milk; the gooier the better!

Arse Arse and more Arse. DS had diahorrea twice last night, but was fine this morning, has been eating, taking his bottles, etc quite normally all day and is obviously feeling ok - so I thought it was just a bit of a funny tummy. Then this evening he had another 2 episodes - the first went from his neck down to his knees and all over his door jumper ffs!

So I've had to cancel my trip to see bf and her 4 week old baby tomorrow and we're also almost certainly going to have to cancel our trip to see DH's friends and their new baby, and meet up with Bumper, over the weekend. I'm so disappointed.

Sputnik · 07/02/2008 20:16

Yuk for the banana

There has been a revolution at our house today, we got a folding table so the little ones can eat in the kitchen, it is fantastic. No more to-ing and fro-ing, no more constant mess of dropped food in our living/dining room, and I could get on with stuff in the kitchen while they ate.

annobal · 07/02/2008 20:22

Poor you and poor baby Fairy . It may be a 24 hour thing and he'll be fine tomorrow - then you won't have to cancel your weekend plans.

annobal · 07/02/2008 20:23

Sounds great Sputnik - I have DS in his high chair while I'm in the kitchen - he loves it!

FairyFay · 07/02/2008 20:28

Thanks annobal, I hope it passes quickly although it doesn't seem to be bothering him at all and for me it is just the inconvenience of many nappy and clothes changes tbh.

I'm just disappointed as it's the first time in ages that our plans have involved small babies, and if it was just adults then I wouldn't cancel - tbh as their baby is only 5 weeks old then I think we'll probably have to cancel anyway, just in case, as I'd feel so dreadful if we passed it on to the lo.

FairyFay · 07/02/2008 20:29

Sputnik, that sounds like a great solution

milkyJammy · 07/02/2008 20:35

Well, I'm going to be a rebel and stop work even though I've got another hour to do! But I'm exhausted and my head aches and I'll do that hour MUCH more productively if I put it off to tomorrow or the weekend.

The jamlet has just started using her high chair regularly this week. She's still a bit little in it and slips down a bit, but she holds onto the side and/or the table to try to hold herself upright , which looks very cute. And tonight I found I can easily pull it into the kitchen if I want her to be able to watch me working in there. She's sat playing on a mat on the floor but seemed to think it was great sitting watching me from up high, and if I was actually cooking (as opposed to loading the dishwasher) I'd not be so worried about spilling something hot on her head.

milkyJammy · 07/02/2008 20:37

Hope LO's squits are short-lived FF. Some things you can just do without.

Sputnik · 07/02/2008 20:47

Yep I'm now thinking I can plonk him in there and do a bit of BLW whenever I have to do something in the kitchen. I had been backsliding with the BLW a bit til now because of the mess and the amazingly long amount of time it takes them to actually eat anything. But if I can get on with other stuff that makes it easier.

milkyJammy · 07/02/2008 20:49

It does take them an age to eat doesn't it Sputnik. I sat very patiently while C ate half a slice of toast for breakfast this morning. Didn't think she was ever going to finish!

Sputnik · 07/02/2008 21:00

I have a big problem with breakfast as we have to be out by a certain time, am hoping the new arrangement means it's a bt less fraught.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 07/02/2008 21:02

Evening all,

Fairy, I've just seen your message. I'm really sorry DS isn't very well. Let me know what you decide to do about saturday. I will be really disappointed not to see you, but obviously you have to do what's best for DS

LOL as DS2 annobal, kids are horrid! Can I just keep DD the way she is? Well, maybe not the way she is at the moment, but the way she was 2 weeks ago

LardyMardyDaisy · 07/02/2008 21:03

sorry about DS and all your nice plans fairy. I'm sure your friend will understand and you'll be able to reschedule soon. Can't speak for bumper, but I'd still want to see you
if it was me you were meeting ; provided the babies don't slobber over each other then surely not much risk of passing it on?

We have a kitchen/diner, which is great as I can plonk babyboo in her highchair or babywalker with some nibbles and get on with things.....although she did have some raisins for her mid morning snack today, which we met again this evening in her nappy, looking rather like sultanas . We also had to give up on her regular big highchair as she kept deliberately sliding down so that she met the crotch strap and her nose was below the level of the tray. We got a wooden one in IKEA which is much more compact (and can be used without the baby bit for when she is older), so with the cushion behind her she can't go anywhere. Was hankering after a tripp trapp, but £120 vs £30.....a no-brainer really!

gawd, I'm long-winded tonight!

OK, off to watch Ashes to Ashes

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 07/02/2008 21:06

I don't worry too much about fitting in 3 meals with DD. But I went to a cafe today and forgot to take anything for DD. I would have worried but I wanted to stick her in a high chair and wanted to give her something to occupy her. I asked if they had any fruit and they said well they had bananas that they used for banana sandwiches but didn't usually sell them. I asked if they would mind if DD had one, she said she wasn't sure how much it would be but she would ask. I agreed thinking it can't be that much surely.

Guess how much they charged me for a banana? G'wan!
