Sexonlegs · 17/10/2007 13:31

Oooggs, they are lovely.

Peace here too. Dropped B off at school, back at 12.00 and K hs been in her cot asleep since about 12.15. I think she was awake for a bit as she was banging her feet on the mattress. I checked on her and she is sparko again! Should be doing some ironing [yawn]!!!

NorthernLurker · 17/10/2007 13:33

Hi oooggs - love the high chairs - do you have blue and pink? I see you also have tripp trapp - how do you find them? Am thinking of getting one for B and need to canvass opinion

nappynuttynormabutty · 17/10/2007 15:38

I caught up but got distracted.

Leaky - glad to hear Eva's doing better x

Elkie - congrats to your sis and have a nice afternoon!

CD - have fun

NL - hope your dd is soon better. Good luck with the house selling too (no experience here, we've bought but not sold).

Like the highchairs Oooggs

Erin asleep now. Have been out this morning. I didn't get everything I wanted. Oh well, can get it another day.

Pinions/Leaky - either of you fancy meeting up at White Rose on Fri morning (after 10am) or afternoon? (new M&S opens and I fancy a browse )

MurderousMaveta · 17/10/2007 17:07

[House selling vibes] to northern lurker hope it moves along quickly, they do say it´s one of the most stressful things in life and I have to say from seeing friends and family go through it, it seems like it.

Hello everyone else! Turns out the storm this morning was side effects of a small hurricane elsewhere on the island what is going on?? This is Mallorca not some tropical island, we don´t get hurricanes and tornadoes?? And this is our second in as many weeks. All very odd. All the electric went off at work so it´s been a really unproductive day. Called my boss at 12pm to say there´s no lights, internet etc etc and she says ´sit tight´ um.. there´s NO LIGHT WOMAN! Went to my friends house and she gave me tea and soup (gas cooker) and did some work errands out of the office and finally at 4pm texted boss to say sod it, I´m off, how ridiculous that I should just be sat there when I can´t do anything, there´s little natural light in the office so no electric means it really is pretty dark. What is with bosses sometimes??!

[Rant Over] Better go tend to my child, hopefully catch some of you on here later for a proper chat..

MurderousMaveta · 17/10/2007 17:25

wasn´t a hurricane elsewhere today, was another tornado and apparently there´s 4 around the island at the moment!! A woman has died

SharpMolarBear · 17/10/2007 17:38

oh no that's terrible
right, better go and do something useful, speak to you all later x

NorthernLurker · 17/10/2007 17:39

Thanks for the house selling vibes MM - am very cross with self for getting stressed!
Scary, scary, scary tornados - how long have you lived out there? Has anyone there seen this sort of thing before?

elkiedee · 17/10/2007 18:22

Maveta, that sounds like a frustrating day followed by more info that's a bit scary to me. Hope all's well with you and yours.

NL, is your baby teething? D's going through a grizzly phase at the moment.

I had a nice afternoon, though D was demanding quite a bit of attention. J's apparently been having the same problems with local council pools as me. Apparently once you're signed up for courses it's easier to continue and you have to go and book on to courses in person.

One of dp's colleagues gave him a card for what sounds like a company offering private swimming lessons. It wouldn't be my first preference, but perhaps if I do that now to get back into the swim of things while I'm off work, I can still pursue the council's courses but do other lessons in the meantime.

MurderousMaveta · 17/10/2007 18:57

Oh Elkie that does sound annoying and frustrating - how difficult can it be to find a swim course?? Sounds like very..

I´ve been here 4 years and never seen anything like the weather we are having and nor has anyone else, it´s just not the kind of weather the island normally has. Weird weird weird.

No one around again? Not having much luck coinciding with the busy time at all am I?! xx

NorthernLurker · 17/10/2007 19:03

Yes B is teething - one through on the bottom. She slept for two hours this afternoon and is eating really well though. The grumpiness comes and goes.....

Pinions · 17/10/2007 19:07

(Off to go and practice dancing around my handbag ).

liath · 17/10/2007 19:10

Enjoy tomorrow night, Pinions - what are you going to wear ?

at the freaky weather, Maveta. Tornadoes !!!!

oooggs · 17/10/2007 19:11

I had a white & blue on for James (not same as picture) and have been sent an identical one - hurrah in fantastic condition

the tripp trapps are great from about 8 mths til 100 years but can be a mare until 8 mths as some babies not big enough or sitting up well enough - (just wedge some towels down the side) James was evicted from his so I didn't need to buy an extra two.

hope you are ok maveta [scary emotion]

oooggs · 17/10/2007 19:12

x posts pinions - have a great time

oooggs · 17/10/2007 19:14

also northern lurker - there is a photo on my profile of dt1 in her tripp trapp

NorthernLurker · 17/10/2007 19:39

Oh love the pictures - Erin looks v happy in her high chair and the one on their tummys is adorable, also especially loved the one of them in their cot - thanks. I think we will go for the Tripp Trapp as am hoping to manage without for a few more weeks anyway and I cannot bear to have another enormous ugly plastic thing in the house! (No offence to anyone who has non Tripp Trapp - it's just me)

NorthernLurker · 17/10/2007 19:42

Oh and so far only CD has given me a footmuff colour opinion - thinking of going to shop tomorrow and I neeeeeeed help. Please - Bug is blue - should I get blue or pink footmuff?

(Looks pleadingly at april mummies who are all far too busy and sensible to be dealing with enquiries this frivolous!)

((Not that CD isn't busy and sensible too))

(((exits with spade)))

Pinions · 17/10/2007 19:46

Blue. Matching.

PillockInTheCommunity · 17/10/2007 19:47

hey Pinions, have a fab time!

NorthernLurker · 17/10/2007 19:52

Thanks Pinions - where are you off out too - dh and I went out a couple of weekends ago for dinner for anniversary but I haven't been out alone for errrr........ummmmm.....some time!

Idreamofbroomsticks · 17/10/2007 20:31

Hi NorthernLurker. We're in the early stages of house moving too (well when I say 'early' stages I mean we're seriously considering it and I'm starting to look at some houses as I am seriously nosey and love looking at other people's pads!). Our house is not on the market yet and we are really badly undecided about exactly where we want to go. Needs to be within sensible driving distance of DD1's school, but within catchment of a decent secondary school. Also needs to be pretty damn special as our current house is lovely, we've done loads to it, but we just need more space.

Am looking at a lovely victorian place tomorrow, and my naughty bf has set up a viewing at a house very near her on Friday. Can't really afford that one mind, but she's coming with me so it'll be a morning out!

oooggs · 17/10/2007 20:45

emmymummy - I love looking at houses should have been an estate agent - even trawl the sites when bored

Idreamofbroomsticks · 17/10/2007 20:47

I do that too Oooggs. We could set up the OooggyEm estate agency to legitimise our habit .
