my post about DS sounds very harsh, but we have had a week of inconsolable crying and refusing to let us anywhere near him to soothe/cuddle/have a look/administer calpol. It is very trying.

derlor · 19/09/2007 21:35

not harsh at all Daisy, are you giving him calpol before bed?

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/09/2007 21:38

We did tonight Derlor....the last few nights we've had to hold him down in the middle of the night to get it down him. the poor wee soul is knackered.....but he will be a giant by Friday

derlor · 19/09/2007 21:40

like a modern day tale of jack and the beanstock? (with a twist!!)
we are taking DD1 for her 1st skiing lesson tomorrow, it's a parent and toddler class, bet it's really cute. (proud mummy emoticon)

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/09/2007 21:42

where are you doing that then? Is there an indoor snow place near you or is it an artificial slope?

foxybrown · 19/09/2007 21:42

That is hilarious Derlor! Hope you've added it to that thread!

derlor · 19/09/2007 21:44

there is an Xscape in Glasgow, so real snow (bbbrrrrrrr) she's really excited, it's cute.

bumperlicious · 19/09/2007 21:47

Hi derlor I'm back! Still having issues as you've probably read

derlor · 19/09/2007 21:49

oh that's not my story Foxy it's my favourite one from that thread.
funny thing did happen to us this morning though..
DH and i were POSL. before school we were all (the 5 of us) in our bed for a morning snuggle,
DH said "there's no room for us all in here"
DS said "that's your fault dad for using all your squerm to make us!!!!!"

first he's talking about girls' jamimas, now squerm - he's only 8!!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/09/2007 21:53

LOL Derlor....just think of the embarrasment factor when he brings his first girlfriend home and you retell that one!

bumper.....I've rounded up a few more comments on your BF thread!

derlor · 19/09/2007 21:54

oh Bumper poor you, wish i was near enough to come round.
just wanted to say that when you go to the breast feeding cafe, make sure the counsellor watches you feeding this is the ONLY way that a proper assessment can be made. Someone needs to watch you trying to get her to latch on and see this through the whole process.
Make sure you will be ready to feed her on that side while you are there x
Good luck x

bumperlicious · 19/09/2007 21:56

Thanks delor, I will. I really appreciated your emails yesterday. It's probably just a blip and I am getting worked up over nothing.

Going to take advantage of an early night and express and got to back. Thanks daisy too for bumping my thread. Hope your problems are eased now and you get to the BF cafe.

bumperlicious · 19/09/2007 21:58

Just saw your thread daisy, thanks so much, especially when you are having so many probs yourself . Hope all of your nights are restful x

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/09/2007 22:01

we need webcams and we can do an on-line BF workshop!

derlor · 19/09/2007 22:02

that one in BH park is still there, Xscape is quite expensive but worth it, we try to go once a month, to keep DH's skiing skills improving, he's a fab wee skiier now.

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/09/2007 22:14

On the other hand, DH already thinks I'm a feak for the amount of time I spend on here. I can only imagine his reaction at me sat feeding babyboo in front of a webcam. He would have me certified I'm sure.

I'm off for an early night with some herbal tea.......

Bumoer, try not to stress out too much, and remember that evenings are never a great time to express.

derlor · 19/09/2007 22:17

oops i meant DS not DH!!

derlor · 19/09/2007 22:19

night daisy

derlor · 19/09/2007 22:21

i'm off too, my eyes are all scratchy.
night all x

Derlor you just made me laugh for the first time in a while (vibrators): thanks for that! Agreed: Vio does kind of put it all in persective. Poor brave woman

Jamantha · 20/09/2007 08:46

Well today feels like a whole new day (duh!). After a misreable day, I read Vio's letter, and even though I don't know her I was in major tears, and was pretty miserable all evening. The flush on our loo then broke and DH tried - VERY NOISILY - to fix it at midnight . Woke me up so I had to go moan at him to leave it before he woke DD as well. (Her cot is just the other side of the wall) But she slept until 5.30, then from 6 to 8 and he's the happiest, cutest little thing you can imagine this morning . And it's sunny
