Forgive me for not keeping up, DG - but what's wrong?

Grin and bear it DG. (And bite your tongue as necessary?)

I've got it lucky I guess. My PILs will come and stay at a nearby B&B (we got rid of the spare bed to make room for LO's stuff). They will probably try to do too much to help around our house (this is the thing I do have a problem with and get v.stressed about, the continual need to do things or buy things for us, or to try to solve all our problems. Maybe I'm just an ungrateful cow?) but will help fix the door on LO's room and move some bookcases from upstairs to down, so that'll be great. And they'll babysit on Sat night and for a couple of hours on Sun too. So I should be very thankful overall, and quit moaning about them wanting to help.

Jamantha · 20/09/2007 16:04

I sympathise with having guests when you're feeling ill though. That sucks!

bumperlicious · 20/09/2007 16:16

Aww dg that sucks. you will have to just nod and let them say whatever they want will seething inside then when they have gone demolish a large bottle of wine! how long are they with you for?

bumperlicious · 20/09/2007 16:17

my nipple is bleeding

justbeme · 20/09/2007 16:31

oh bumper have u got some nipple shields? i found them fab - my boots had them in a clearance shelf for 40p too.

riabutterflew · 20/09/2007 16:35

bumper. you're having a really crap time - it will get better. unless of course you read that thread on thing not to do and thought you would see what happened if you got the cheese grater and...

dg, by any chance do we share ILs

Jamantha - can I be adopted by your ILs? Please?

riabutterflew · 20/09/2007 16:37

is it your problem side bumper? i can't suggest anything other than shields or changin los position. Hope i wasn't too flippant with my last post. Hope you soon feel better, I know how hard it is.

annobal · 20/09/2007 16:41

ow Bumper. Poor you!

My parents are coming next week and staying for a month. Poor DH

riabutterflew · 20/09/2007 16:49

so, i have just put my big pram on ebay, and my final item of maternity clothing (except my next tshirts which are the smartest things i own that fit).

That's it then...no more babies

when this LO goes to school i will have to get off my arse and find something else to do with my days

bumperlicious · 20/09/2007 16:52

don't worry about being flippant! bizarrely it's my 'good' side. if it's not one thing it's another!

at you selling maternity clothes - i'm still in my maternity jeans!

my marternity jeans went first. my "normal" jeans are bigger than your average maternity ones

...but my trakky bottoms are oh so comfy!

I am going to put all my "fat" summer clothes that I've dragged out every year since ds2 in the salvation army collection bin when i get my winter stuff out (and then it can all go next year). Even if i aren't thinner I seriously need new clothes

oooh - a MIL rant perhaps? nearly as good as men are twunts

mine worked right from dh being a baby (he used to sit in his pram outside the backdoor of whereever she worked), plus she was stick thin and had hair down to her waist (of course, she is very short so there isn't as much distance there as there would be for me to grow my hair to my waist) and still had time to bring up 4 boys. of course she couldn't tell them apart when they were asleep (differing sizes didn't give her a clue then?). Sorry, my point is mine doesn't approve of me but I don't think she can decide why. I think it's because i don't go to the pub all the time ...

riabutterflew · 20/09/2007 17:10

new thread title suggestion- "so DH, what have you done all day today? I have been busy raising your children..."

Sorry, can't join you in the MIL bahing, don't have one, but could so go for some DP bashing!!

OP posts:
riabutterflew · 20/09/2007 17:29

i don't object to pubs btw, we maybe go to a family friendly one for a treat sometimes, or on holiday, just a) i can't be arsed to tidy myself for a night out, or my house for babysitters, b)it's not much fun for dh given that more often than not he is working in one. she babysits for bils at least twice a week each as they go out all the time.

riabutterflew · 20/09/2007 17:30

right then lets ash those men. I'm sure I can find something if I try...
