An update from Vio

What a beautiful wee boy, it is so so sad

TALLULAHBELLE · 19/09/2007 18:45

Just read Vio's letter & saw the photo of her gorgeous little boy. Puts it all into perspective - am off to hold my LO very tight.

Charlie999 · 19/09/2007 19:01

. Certainly puts my day into perspective....

loonylovegood · 19/09/2007 19:04

How sad, I'm crying now. The poor little soul . Makes you realise just how lucky you are.

bumperlicious · 19/09/2007 19:20

I knew this would make me cry and I didn't want to read as I knew it would make me feel sad, but I felt like I owed it to vio to read about her little boy IYKWIM.

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/09/2007 19:36

I was crying when I read it earlier ....and DS came over and gave me a hug. You just wonder how anyone can recover from the death of a child. Poor Vio.

Bumper, you said that DD was still stuffy...do you think this could be the problem? She may have blocked sinuses which as we all know can be really painful. Have you got any karvol or snufflebabe in the house? Do you think it's worth getting her checked out by the doctor?

faylisa · 19/09/2007 19:59

That is really sad

It was us that were trying to go to Legoland - no idea why it was shut, unfortunately - but we should have checked the website. We r going to go tomorrow.

We have annual passes as we're quite nearby but if anyone else does plan to go, it;s worth going onto lastminute.com for tickets - which save a lot on entrance price (I agree that £33 per adult is obscenely expensive!!)

bumperlicious · 19/09/2007 20:23

daisy she has been stuff a little bit. It's doesn't appear to be the problem but it could be.

Just now she started on the left but after about 10 mins started getting upset and punching the boob (she really doesn't like it) and eventually came off so put her on the right and she just felt so much more securely attached and guzzled away. Sorry, I know you must be bored by this...I'll go and post on my bf thread.

annobal · 19/09/2007 20:32

Bumper, I'm so sorry you're having such a time with bf. I really don't know what to suggest.

Daisy, want to sell a pushchair .

TB - I've had all my LOs here (I've been here 12 years ) for my sins - it is quite a luxury in oz apparently...

foxybrown · 19/09/2007 20:33

That is so terribly, terribly sad.

I was about go shout at my boys to be quiet and go to sleep. Am going to go and cuddle them.

He was such a beautiful baby. God, I'm so lucky.

annobal · 19/09/2007 20:35

I think you're all very brave and I'm not going to read about Vio until tomorrow when I'm feeling a bit more able to cope...

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/09/2007 20:36

bumper, don't be silly. I just wish we could do something to help you, or that you weren't so far away that someone couldn't pop over to help.

Can you try calling the NCT helpline? I called them a few weeks ago and got a call back within the hour and the lady I spoke to was great. She gave me the name of a local counsellor, but unfortunately I lost the bit of paper before I had the chance to call her. Call them and see if there is someone local you can be put in touch with.

bumperlicious · 19/09/2007 20:42

daisy, I'm done feeding her for now. If I can just get a couple more ozs DH will be able to feed her tonight then I will go to the other bfing group in the next town in the morning.

Thanks for your support girls. Going to have a bath, cup of tea and a Kinder Maxi

derlor · 19/09/2007 20:44

oh, you still there Bumper??

derlor · 19/09/2007 20:50

just caught up, Vio's story is absoloutely tragic poor poor family.
BZ - hope you are feeling better now after your crappy day. I ALWAYS feel better after a good old cry, works wonders x

riabutterflew · 19/09/2007 21:05

I am V for vio but I cannot read her story. I am pathetic and perhaps selfish, but I know I couldn't cope, how anyone manages with such a sad thing is beyond me.

Hope you get a good night bumper. x.

I would love to take the boys to legoland, but it's so far away and it would mean going down south

I am off to bed early tonight so I can't waste my good day by boredom eating.

foxybrown · 19/09/2007 21:11

Not at all selfish Ria, its incredibly hard to read. Especially as we have tiny ones of our own.

derlor · 19/09/2007 21:16

by eck it's quiet on here tonight
are you all out clubbing?!?!?

foxybrown · 19/09/2007 21:19

This will cheer you all up especially Bocos 14.31 post.

TALLULAHBELLE · 19/09/2007 21:20

Bumper - can u just feed her on the right for now & express on other side to keep up supply. Keep trying her on left but not stress as long as she takes the right.

Yes Derlor....clubbing the children to get some evening to myself

DS still has his growing pains. If he isn't 1.5m tall by the weekend I will be very cross....the amount of pain he has had. And in typical bloke stylee he is a wuss when it comes to pain

foxybrown · 19/09/2007 21:27

If I go clubbing, will then feel knackered and old. Just knackered at the mo!

Daisy, 4 pounds. The answer to your earlier question.

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/09/2007 21:31

ooooh well done you!

I have just added to the stupidity thread, LOL. It is very very funny.

derlor · 19/09/2007 21:32

that thread is hillarious - thanks Foxy LOVED this one....
If like my SIL you must leave your 3 big vibrators on the bathroom sink to dry after you have washed them, please do not do this on the day me and my 5yo ds are visiting. Because when he goes to the loo and washes his hands he will be thrilled to see 3 new rockets to play with. He will squeal with delight when he runs downstairs with them to show the gathered family members. Don't worry about me, I will find it funny, but you won't.
