Duh...I dunno, I'm new to this real nappy game I thought it would help her skin breathe a bit more and clear up nappy rash type dry skin.....like I said, I'm a bit about it all as well.

she did look cute in a big stripey bottomed way though!

DH thinks I'm giving her a lifelong "does my bum look big" complex.

And Derlor...our roadsweepers tend more to stilettos and fishnets

Bumper....Sure Start. I presume homestart is the same thing?

foxybrown · 18/09/2007 21:28

Just realised, there will be a new 'Due in June' thread soon.

loonylovegood · 18/09/2007 21:33

Evening! Bloody hell, we do have some big boys here! Clearly my ds isn't the only chunky monkey!

He is a teeny Houdini! He keeps escaping from his chair! If I don't strap him in he can slide out the bottom in a matter of minutes! Little monster!

I hate mum and baby groups and toddler groups. It's so horrible trying to make friends. I went to a new one this morning and it was lovely, but was a bit too "churchy" for me! Won't be going back, don't do church!

Daisy, your pushchair is a boxed and ready to go tomorrow! Hope you like it!

Aww, Holly, wish we lived closer. Let me know when you can make it to Bristol.

Foxy - already?! they are getting so old!

loonylovegood · 18/09/2007 21:41

Bless you bumper! I think the best thing to do is arrange the Bristol thing without me and I'll try and come. My godmother comes down here about once a fortnight, so I can speak to her and try and sort something out.

Ok, I'm off, may be a rough night feeding wise...

Derlor (or anyone) if she doesn't feed from either breast (as she didn't earlier) should I make an emergency trip to tescos for formula or tough it out?

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/09/2007 21:50

Bumper...if you have the formula in the house and don't need it then no worries, but if she doesn't feed and starts screaming it could be a very tense wait till DH comes back with it.

Try to keep calm and relaxed though. xx

Ooooh holly, can't wait. she is getting too big for the carry cot already . I am very that it should last for six months like it says in the blurb.

derlor · 18/09/2007 21:52

bumper, i'd get the formula (or actually i'd get DH to go!!) before you go to bed just in case. The middle of the night is NOT the time to be getting stressed out trying to feed it will only feel much worse for you (things always seem more stressful when you're tired)
Start a fresh tomorrow morning with the feeding and good luck xx

andiem · 18/09/2007 21:55

I'm off to bed too ds has to be at school at 08.30 for swimming this term so early start for us all

Jamantha · 18/09/2007 21:55

Bumper, this is home start

loonylovegood · 18/09/2007 21:55

AAARRRSSSEEE!!! I'm trying to write a sodding mystery shop report and the website keeps crashing. DO you think throwing the computer out the window might be a slight over reaction?

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 18/09/2007 21:57

Yes bumper, get dh to go get a carton of formula. I always have one in the house, just as an emergency standby. Luckily I've not needed it yet, but it makes me feel a bit better just knowing it is there just in case!

OP posts:
derlor · 18/09/2007 21:58

seems reasonable to me Holly!!

loonylovegood · 18/09/2007 22:00

But if I threw the pc out the window I wouldn't be able to talk to you lovely ladies! Maybe I'll try to keep my cool!!

Sorry, back to nappies...I love my new Bambineos! They are sooo soft and yummy!

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 18/09/2007 22:01

hehe!!

riabutterflew · 18/09/2007 22:06

thanks for the nappy site TA.

lots of possible career changes goin on then - we have even had the conversation about DH being a SAHD and me donig "something"

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/09/2007 22:14

I need a career change as well. If I have to go back to being an Engineer I will be throwing myself under the tracks of the nearest fucking JCB or off the highest scaffolding . I hate my job.

Holly, I've got bambineo nappies too. They take a good few washes to get up to full absorbency....I reckon they need about six washes. They are lovely things, and the colours are gorgeous. You got a better deal than me though.

Anyone got imse vimse?

loonylovegood · 18/09/2007 22:18

Oh, I've just put one on ds without washing it! It really is against everything I stand for to wash things that aren't dirty! He's had it on for a good couple of hours and no leakage yet! I'll put something else on him for bed though!

I've been trying to get a memory foam mattress from ebay, but keep getting outbid. Bastards!

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 18/09/2007 22:20

I have cream, blue and pistashio bambineos! They are so pretty! Have you got pink ones daisy?

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 18/09/2007 22:21

I really want to start a second hand baby gear shop. I need to look into it. I think it'd be a great shop, full of cool things!

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 18/09/2007 22:22

without prewashing they get a bit sodden, but it does improve. they are very thirsty little things, and nice and slim fitting too.

but before I do....DD has suddenly developed exzema type dry skin around the top of her thighs and on her vulva? any ideas anyone? I recently started using ecover.

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/09/2007 22:24

oops eroneous question mark there....obviously I know what a vulva is

loonylovegood · 18/09/2007 22:24

My dd used to get that daisy (still does sometimes). I got some cream for it from the drs. It is just intensive moisturising cream and it does the job (and it was free)!! Maybe try some E45 on it.

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 18/09/2007 22:25

LOL daisy!

Right I'm off. Vv tired and have some new books from the library to read.

OP posts:
TALLULAHBELLE · 18/09/2007 22:28
