I'm going to see my best friend from uni next week and she and her husband are paying for me to have a treatment at their local spa! It's so sweet! They are the one's who have just had a mc but they are so looking forward to seeing DD.

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/09/2007 14:46

Sssandy

Bumper, is that Lcy? She sounded so brave on her thread. She sounds like a great friend, and it will happen for her and her DD. Wish her good luck from me!

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/09/2007 14:57

DH, obviously

My DS has just poured orange juice all over the floor. every time he has a carton of juice I tell him to hold it on the corners and every time he says yes, and every time he picks it up on the sides and the orange juice fountains out of the straw. every farking time.....since he had his first carton of uice about 3 years ago.

We are in the middle of a plumbing disaster....quelle surprise.

DH has this mental block when it comes to plumbing. So far he has been to B&Q twice and has now gone to Homebase. something to do with the threads on the ends of the hoses being gubbed...what all of them? now it's the Y shaped bracket that has dodgy threads.

Maybe he's tightening them too much ....just a thought.

And we now have no water so I can't even get a cup of tea!

bumperlicious · 16/09/2007 15:15

Yes daisy it is Lcy, she is doing really well and trying again already so fingers crossed.

Poor you re water though. Hope DH gets it sorted soon!

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/09/2007 15:38

I'm officially on strike. I refuse to do any more washing up till the dishwasher is plumbed in without any drips or leaks!

Charlie999 · 16/09/2007 16:13

OMG Daisy ....do you wish that he'd left it for you in the week to do....oh poor thing...what a way to spend a Sunday!

Thanks for being kind Bumper - I felt awful...makes people think I take no notice . Lcy sounds like a very good friend Bumper....

My LO has spent the best part of the afternoon trying to turn over - she can manage front to back but not the other way....she gets SO fustrated...when I gave her some help she then couldn't move the arm she was laying on ...she's now asleep from the exhaustion of having the hump

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/09/2007 16:21

We appear to be up and running....there is no water coming from anywhere it shouldn't...yet...

...but all the on and off with the water had made the toilet overflow start to drip

D'you remember that film The Money Pit in the 80s with Tom Hanks and Shelley Long? 'Tis my house

Jamantha · 16/09/2007 16:51

Well as you might expect, the moment DH went off and installed himself in the bathroom, LO woke up! To his credit, he has done 2 nappy changes and played with her a bit in between feeds (she was starving having gone 5.5 hours without food!). But of course he is exhausted (bless him) - it's SO tiring having a weekend away with friends, staying up late drinking and playing games. Silly me, I should have remembered!

justbeme · 16/09/2007 17:16

Hi all
Went to a Car boot today, spent six quid and got:
PS2 game for DD1
M & S Nursing bra (in box)
Next top for DD2
one of those curly wurly toys that goes on pram/cot
New Teletubbies fabric book
ELC large fabric book
Maisy Book
Baby bath - like new (my one has a dodgy plug!)
erh - I think thats it!

Re my dodgy pelvic floor - I have been referred to hospital pyhsio but just wondered if any 1 else suffered!! (the things we bare on MN!)

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/09/2007 17:18

Jamantha...maybre the timbre of his voice is sending her to sleep. DD loves it when DH speaks to her in his deep voice.

Bloody boob is killing me again . Think I have mastitis as there is a red area next to my aereole that is very very sore and has gotten bigger since this morning. Also ffeling very spacey and woozy. Bloody sick to the bacvk teeth of this, but the thought of stopping and all the resulting engoroenement is enough to make me cry!

I think I@'off to crawl into a corner and ask DH to put me out of my misery.

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/09/2007 17:21

jbm....my friend had problems with her pelvic floor and needed a wee operation (if you pardon the pun . She had to go for testing before hand where they guage the strength of your pelvic floor. Can't remeber exactly how that worked though!

Jamantha · 16/09/2007 17:23

impressive JBM.

poor you (again!) Daisy. No, I don't think it's his voice - just one of those things, and therefore sadly, not repeatable

justbeme · 16/09/2007 17:24

ohh Daisy poor you!
I wonder why that keeps happening?

oh and i forget also bought a brand new supernanny Book!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/09/2007 17:52

I think she has a tongue tie, in spite of my HV saying it feels ok, as she has the characteristc indent at the end of her tongue. I don't think she can stick it out too far either, but apparently the up and down range of movement is critical too to BF. I will endeavour to get to a baby cafe tomorrow, or will ask the doc when I go. I'm thinking i might need antibiotics as starting to feel very very shitty indeed.

Dishwasher has just completed inaugural run....dishes are fab....mugs no longer have nasty tea stains in them

riabutterflew · 16/09/2007 18:01

am v of you jmb, i could have been out spending cash i shouldn't on stuff i don't need at the carboot - then i would have been out when mil camethey had fun at the beach then had icecream, then were invited for fish&chips but my boys refused to go to the pub and were quite rude to the gps so dh brought them to my mums in disgrace where they got roast pork and veg and cheesecake, then spent the rest of the afternoon up the apple tree!(i believe they were only rude to the gps cos we have to make all the running when it comes to planned visits etc and so they aren't cpmfortable with them. no doubt mil will blame me.

daisy, i forgot to say earlier hope your ds is ok. it's parents like that cause the problems in schools as eventually our kids realise they have to defend themselves and then they are the ones that get into trouble.. well done for confronting the dad though, i would have left early in tears!

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/09/2007 20:32

is everyone off chatting elsewhere?

BadZelda · 16/09/2007 20:40

I'm here - both children are asleep

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/09/2007 20:44

hey BZ...I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself tonight

Got blocked ducts again and have a huge and painful red area that is getting bigger. I've tried all sorts and it's just not clearing.

BadZelda · 16/09/2007 20:50

That sounds bad ;( You not got any cabbage leaves? Might help? Sounds like you got them before from a dodgy bra? I got that once and just spent hours in the shower massaging until the milk was coming out instead of yellow stuff (sorry if TMI) and took paracetamol for the fever. Would see a doc tomorrow though if it's not better?

BadZelda · 16/09/2007 20:51

The advice I was given at the time was just keep feeding - as the babe's suction is the best way to clear the blockage...can be v uncomfortable though

foxybrown · 16/09/2007 20:52

twuntyfuckingbollockstwuntagearsssssssseeeeeeeeee

and relax. and breeeeeeethhhhhhh.

off to catch up, thanks for listening, I feel better now

BadZelda · 16/09/2007 20:54

What's up foxy? DC's or DH? Seems to be the day for arguments with DH's - looks like I wasn't the only one having a rant this morning.

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/09/2007 20:54

I can't have a shower as we've had to switch the water off due to the toilet cistern overflowing, and can't get a plumber till tomorrow, or to B&Q to sort it out.

I'm feeling like I'd like to start this weekend all over again.

foxybrown · 16/09/2007 20:54

ouch, not another Daisy. Touch wood I've not had many this time round, but was plagued with them before. things are a bit shitty-shite for you at the mo, hey?

BZ, how is it going for you? Did you go to the Southbank Festival this weekend?
