Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
samsmam · 08/01/2008 12:22

Morning- LO has tonsillitus and ear infection again- arghhhh. All she wants is cuddles and its difficult as its so uncomfortable for me to have her laying on me but I can't deprive her that comfort.

Babyducky- I dread any a&e visits, must be so frightening.

PL- glad I am not the only one feeling huge and hormonal. I keep wondering why I feel so much huger this time round- so worried this baby is really big. Got consultant next thursday, i am going to be pleading to be induced two weeks early. I just am so out of breath this time too. whinge, whinge, whinge, thats all I seem to do these days!

Rumpel- how you doing?

I have three friends annouced pregnancy all in august, what a busy bunch they have been.

Majormoo- good luck with TTC.

Gingeme- get that baby to get a move on!!!

gingeme · 08/01/2008 12:38

Good afternoon ladies. Oh all these poorly lo's . Ill be glad when the summer gets here and hopefuly will bring some good health and sunshine our way.
Samsam make sure you wright down every time Samantha gets tonsilitis in case you decide to have them removed . It is usualy 4 episodes a year till they consider removing them.
Poor Kai too. Ear infections are so hard to spot too. Hope hes on the mend soon and the anti biotics kick in soon.
No sign of baby arriving any time soon. Lots of twinges and tightenings but Im just playing it by ear at the moment. My Mum is staying with us for the week so hope it arrives soon. Getting im patient now. Do you rememember being like that?
Edward is still snotty. He has suddenly had 4 teeth pop through all at once so thats probably why.
Keep your chin up all you other pregnant ladies.

RUMPEL · 08/01/2008 18:32

Hi Ladies,

Can't believe you haven't popped yet GINGEME I thought you would go early 'cos of all your previous ones - you must be pissed off and fed up now.

BABYDUCKY - I still haven't looked at your new montage yet - too much time on PC makes me feel worse so will get around to it at some point - sorry

SAMSMAM - what about your placenta - did it move?

PRINCESS - how did your treatment for MIL go? When are youback in your own house?

I am feeling rough, rough rough! Puked my brekkie back up today. Have the most awful insomnia - had about 4 hours sleep in 3 days. Was awake all night last night - despite being exhausted - I am so glad I am not working. Feel bad for LO though as I am rubbish Mum at the mo'.

Got scan on Thursday so am hoping I will feel relieved after that - I always freak a bit and find it very scary. Hospital here is a bit yukky so I am hoping to be in and out same day next time - fingers crossed. Hospital in July - no thanks!!!

I am finding it very difficult to carry LO upstairs too - she is so heavy and my knees are compressing with the weight of her and am breathless.

Hope you are all well and sending you popping vibes GINGEME xxxx

gingeme · 08/01/2008 19:41

Rumpel pissed off is putting it mildly. Yes I though Id be early too going by my track record but Im not late yet.
Oh I feel for you especialy with lo. I was never that ill through pregnancy. Felt terribly sick but never so much as that. Can you get any help from your gp or mw re the insomnia?

samsmam · 08/01/2008 20:33

Yeah my placenta moved- so I can do it 'naturally' but I feel I would like to be induced two weeks early incase of a large baby. Aftre shoulder dystocia with LO I don't want to go thru it again. I was told after LO's birth I would be given the opportunity but I'm not too sure now. Will have to see at consultant appointment next week.

Rumpel- sorry to hear you are feeling so yukky. I am so glad too that I never suffered sickness.
I feel like a bad parent though, all I do is sit on the floor all day with LO, it is the only way I can play properly with her. As for the stairs she climbs them with me right behind her! Is A walking yet, Rumpel?

Gingeme- Sending you some vibes too.

I think it was PL that asked about milk and bottles? LO has roughly 6oz in morning and 6oz at night in a beaker but she does eat really well. Maybe too well!!

Samantha says baby now it is so cute and clear.

babyducky · 09/01/2008 10:25

hi all,

kai gave me another fright yesterday, he came out in a rash all over his chest, i rung my doc & she said bring him in, She said it is prob some kind of heat rash where he's had such a high temp, bloody hell though i panicked!

His eczma is fine at the moment, ive took pics of it when its really bad 2 show dermatologist, some days its completely clear others its all red & sore & flaky, weird.

PL- no have not tried cutting out dairy, maybe the dermatologist will suggest that,
I've started keeping a food diary though to see if its worse when he eats certain things.

Kai only has a few sips of milk out of a beaker morning & night, prob not even 1oz!
He just doesnt seem to want it anymore, he eats quite well, loves all kind of fruit & veg, he adores cucumber, Has 2 or 3 yogurts a day & a always a piece of cheese so im not too worried about him not drinking milk anymore. He always has weetabix or ready brek for breakfast so gets milk that way.

hope your LO is feeling a bit better today samsmam, x

hope everyone else is well, especially the pg ladies!

gingeme · 10/01/2008 10:21

Good morning ladies.
Our baby George was born at 2.45 this morning on our bathroom floor. DH delivered him as the ambulance or midwife hadn't turned up in time. He came into the world in just 3 pushes
He weighs 8lb 2 oz and has a mass of dark hair.
Ill try to post some pics a bit later.
Hope everyone else is doing well.
Take care all xxx

babyducky · 10/01/2008 17:25

wow gingeme!

congratulations,xxxxxxxxxx

cant wait to see pics, hope you both ok

princessllama · 10/01/2008 18:34

well done gingeme.
fantastic news-do you have the most impressive dh or what. mine would defo have been out cold on the floor and no use. how exciting. i hope you are ok and so are edward, dh and other ds's. did it hurt alot more because was so quick? xx

RUMPEL · 10/01/2008 19:20

Oh GINGEME - FANTASTIC NEWS - well done you No hospital either - which is fabulous. See, you are an expert and did it in 3 pushes Aww - enjoy him. How are the boys taking to their new addition to the family?

BABYDUCKY - sounds like Kai knows he is lactose intolerant - if he doesn't want milk it is a classic sign.

SAMSMAM - still no walking here as yet! She is almost there but just doesn't have the confidence yet. She will walk just slightly holding on to a pinky but when I let her go she stands for a couple of seconds, then realises and sits down!

I fell down the stairs with her this morning It was the last 3 - I am so tired I just lost my footing. Luckily she was tucked under my left arm and I managed to get her to land on her bum. i fell with one leg one way and the other the other way! Lucky I didn't impail myself on the stairgate - I managed to knock it out though. Silly Billy.

Well we had out first scan today - I was a nervous wreck but all is well - whew sigh of relief. Just 1 baby - thank goodness. Jumping around like mad. I said to DH that I though I felt baby move last week, then I did for sure 2 nights ago. It always feels like palpitations (but not at my heart) to me. I feel it right up my centre chest. I am further on than they thought though - 12 + 4 which puts my due date at 20th July. They had me at 27th first, then 28th but I still think it is the 24th. Still earlier is better than later as PL and SAMSMAM will be feeling already.

Have you chosen names yet?

Well must go update the ante-natal July lot - take care ladies and give baby George a big cuddle from me GINGEME xxxx

majormoo · 10/01/2008 20:04

Congratulations Gingme. Wow-that labour could make it into the 'Guiness Book of Records'. Very impressed with your DH. (Didn't you have you last DS in the bathroom too or have I completely made that up?!!) So how have the other boys reacted to their baby brother? Hope you are feeling OK.

Phew glad the scan went well Rumpel. My DD's birthday is 1st August. It is lovely having a late summer baby.

babyducky · 10/01/2008 21:23

glad the scan went well rumpel, & hope your ok after the fall,

Is lactose intolerant when you cant have dairy then? I dont know anything about things like that!

He's never really been very interested in milk, but he adores yougurt & cheese.

You can be tested to see if your allergic toany foods cant you?

samsmam · 10/01/2008 21:37

Congrats Gingeme- wow 3 pushes. Hope I get such luck this time. 2 hrs 46 min of pushing last time. Say well done to DH too.
Can't wait for pictures.

Rumpel you are dead right about the sooner rather than later thing- really fed up and uncomfortable at moment. My midwife friend came round today and had a feel she said babies head is engaged, prob why this baby feels like it is about to fall out.

tinselyfairy35 · 11/01/2008 09:28

Congrats Gingeme, very impressive,i hope you are both feeling fine.
Great news on scan Rumpel and hope you ok after your fall.

gingeme · 11/01/2008 16:20

Afternoon ladies.
Oh Rumple what are you like ? Glad your ok and your scan went well too. The first flutters. Thats so exciting for you ?
Majormoo your nearly right. I had a homebirth with ds4 but it was in my living room. Oh and planned
My two boys have been brill with baby. My 3 year old gave him a big kiss on his head today and said ' your my little baby now'
Didnt get much sleep last night though. George decided he was going to spend the night eating.
Well dh making a cuppa now.
Take care all xxx

Mellin · 12/01/2008 21:39

Hi folks,

Wow - the first time I've been on Mumsnet for ages and it's just in time for Gingeme's big news! Congratulations! Hope you aren't too exhausted and all your boys are looking after you and the new bub.

I went back to work in October (thus the lull in Mumsnet activity) and dd is at nursery 4 days per week. It was a real struggle for us both at the beginning, but things have settled down and she seems really happy there.

It sounds like we are at the same stage with walking Rumpel, dd is pulling herself up on everything, coasting alone the furniture and is almost walking. We bought her first pair of walking shoes today, they are so small and so cute!

I hope everyone else is doing well, especially the pregnant ladies.

taffy101 · 13/01/2008 22:07

BIG CONGRATS GINGEME!!!Very dramatic, glad it all turned out ok. sweet what ds3 said - aww! Lovely name you picked too.

Babyducky - your kai's been scaring you a bit lately hasn't he. Hope his eczema settles down for you soon, poor thing. Yet another gorgeous montage from you (love the one where he looks like a little elf looking thru the window)

Majormoo - my friend had her baby on bathroom floor last Feb, maybe you are mixing ginge up with that story!

Re milk - i am still BF as owen refuses to drink milk from a cup/bottle, but he is too nosy to have a decent feed from me. He usually has a good feed first thing in morning and a miniscule one at bed time cos he might miss something! He eats plenty of youghurt though so am not worried about lack of calcium.

Samsmam - glad the placenta finally worked its way up for you.

Mellin - i went back to work in october too, so i am rather laxed with MN these days too. I have got into a sort of routine now and find work rather relaxing - get to sit down for a few hours without someone climbing on me lol!

Rumpel - glad scan went ok. I don't know how you cope with sickness, but all I can say is that its apparently a healthy sign, but you knew that anyway

Took dd to see a show of The Snowman tonight - it was magical, i loved it (and so did she).

Sorry for mammoth post - not been on in ages.

babyducky · 15/01/2008 12:07

hi all,

nice to hear from u again mellin & taffy,

hows little george gingeme?
any pics yet???

hope everyone is well, xxx

gingeme · 17/01/2008 11:00

Good morning ladies. All well here. Yes I have put some pics on my profile.
Edwrad has suddenly found his independance re eating. He wont let us feed him at all now. He does pretty well with his spoon and yoghurt though. Gets most of in his mouth. He had mini weetabix for breakfast today and ate all of those with his hands. Hes also blowing kisses to Upsey Daisy on The Night Garden now too which is so cute.
George is doing well. Feeding well and sleeping erm well.
Changed his nappy on the bed at 3am and he weed and poohed all over himself and the quilt. Its going round in the washing machine as we speak.
Hope everyone else is well.
Samsam and Rumple how is the pregnancy going ? Not long now. x

babyducky · 17/01/2008 16:13

aw hes gorgeous gingeme xxx

samsmam · 17/01/2008 18:10

Ah he is lovely Gingeme. I'm thinking I want a little boy now! I have promised myself no more though as I am so NOT enjoying this pregnancy!

I went to antenatal appointment today and I may be being induced around the 14th Feb. Two weeks early. Only because LO got shoulder dystocia and she was 8lb 12 and my first. They don't want to risk this baby being bigger and chancing getting stuck. I don't want to go through that again either!
Got to wait for growth scan in next two weeks then I'll find out on 31st Jan what will happen.

LO is being so cute at the moment she just chats away. She is growing up too fast. Not sure how she will be with a new baby! We shall see...........

Rumpel- you going to fond out what you are having?
PL- You don't know what you are having do you?

gingeme · 17/01/2008 19:38

samsam I had growth scans too if you remember as they thought George was going to be 10lb something. Ok he was a bit big but I wouldnt take the scans as gospal iykwim?
As far as more babys go never say never eh
Hows Kai doing babyducky? On the mend i hope.
Rumpel how you doing?

majormoo · 17/01/2008 19:49

Gingeme-the photos are lovely. As if I am not clucky enough already. Also I notice you like watching 'The Wright Stuff'-I love it-it is my real SAHM indulgence!

Samsman not long to go for you then. My DS also got his shoulders stuck on the way out-he was 9lbs 1 oz-so I'm interested to hear they may induce you.

princessllama · 17/01/2008 19:52

lovely pics ginge. do you reckon you've got another redhead.
samsmam, i am not enjoying this much either-keep trying to enjoy it but sooo knackering. every time lo drops food on the floor i think i'm going to cry with thought of effort to pick it up. am wondering too how lo will cope. what is edward like ginge? i know it's silly, but am a bit at you samsmam for beating me to the finish. especially as will only just have got back to our house, if we're lucky...2 weeks to go til they're meant to finish and the builders are being totally non comittal .
rumpel hope you're not still hideously puky, suspect you prob. are.
babyducky how's kai?
mellin glad to hear work and lo's nursery doing better.
samsmam, don't know what we're having but we think it's a boy-obviously dh thinks he saw a huge willy. i think it's a boy because i haven't been sick this time.

samsmam · 17/01/2008 21:38

PL- Haven't beaten you to the finish just yet! We shall see! We may have them on the same day.
I know exactly what you mean about the bending to pick everything up. I have two clear up sessions of toys a day. Once at nap time then once at bedtime. I sit on the floor and crawl around putting everything back in the toy box!

On a bright note for me- DP has a new job. Not sure if I said but he was only earning £11,000 for a 40 hour week. He has just got a job that pays £24,000 so should take a bit of pressure off.

Majormoo- let you know in a few weeks what the consultant says about the shoulder dystocia thing.
