babyducky · 17/11/2007 09:54

thanks taffy, & thanks samsmam, how many weeks are you now?

how are you rumpel?

gingeme · 17/11/2007 10:09

Rumpel how are you this morning?
We had a brill day yesterday. We put a deposit on a new car. My grandad died at the beginning of the year and I had some money from his will on Monday so we had a big think about what to do with it and decided on a car. Its a Citreon Xsara Picasso. My Dad has one and I love it. Its spacious without being too big and its red. Going to pick it up today. They even took our crappy car as part exchange so we got £100 off the price. Oh I cant wait.
Also Ive been dallying on Ebay about 3 double buggys which are just what we need. One is from a shop we bought lo's car seat from so I bought it last night. Its going to be delivered Monday. Im soooooo happy.
Hope you are all fine today.
Have a good weekend xxx

Rumpel · 17/11/2007 10:16

Morning All,

Your postive vibes are much appreciated and are working - big thanks!

Well the bleeding stopped that night - only lasted a wee while but as any of you who have miscarried before will know - it makes you dread going to the loo. Always terrified incase you see blood.
Still I think it must have been a small implantation bleed.

Feeling a bit pukey this morning. The rest of our furniture arrived from our old house and we have this leather 3 piece. It always made me want to barf when pg in our old house. It is now resident in the garage but every time I go in (tumbler dryer is in there) it is making me want to huey! Bleurgh!

RE HAND FOOT MOUTH - can't remember who asked but symptoms are:

Hands constantly in mouth (there are ulcers in there if they will let you look);

too sore to eat or drink properly - just petit filous/yoghurt for a few days;

high fever;

crying, crying,crying,crying,crying,crying and

spots -small red ones like chicken pox but without blisters, on the more commonly hands and feet, but Amber had them on her bottom, legs and arms - hence the Dr not realising what it was.

SAMSMAM - I never did shift that last stone either so I am hoping to only put on a stone and half with this pg remains to be seen of course. depends on whether it is twins too - twins on both sides of my family and the older you are the higher your chances

How much weight have you put on this time all you pg ladies? I put on 2 stone 5 last time.

Must go as dissertation to do - still aggggg!

have a good weeekend all...xxx

hi rumpel, i've been reading fast and am so glad that bleeding has stopped.i'm glad you're feeling so pukey although let's hope it settles a bit. will remember symptoms for foot and mouth and hand. we just still have whiny teething coughing snotty baby then.
i have put on about a stone and half to two stone i think, try to avoid the scales mostly. have got a massive thing for double chocolate ice cream at the moment.
car sounds good gingeme. i'm envious, always fighting with the pushchair in our car and that's without the new addition.
dh didn't take news of friend dying v normally, well, prob. v norm for bloke-couldn't really talk about it and went v quiet about everything. not like the howling pg wife!
might go and see if there's any more icecream or maybe some more cocoa pops

santascRUMPELedsuit · 18/11/2007 20:57

Evening All,

Feel a HUGE weight off my shoulders - thought I would share with you the fact that my disserattion is nearly, almost but not quite finished - hurrah! been working on it all day as I am having a good brain day today

Princess - how long have you got to go? Men deal with things very differently - he will be in his cave for a while and next time he has a good bevvy he will probably let it out and pseak to you about it.

Gingeme - missed your post about the car - we have a citreon - we call it the shitron! Hate it. My DH uses it I use the mini
for the moment, but it very awkward getting LO in and out her carseat in the back. What triple buggy did you go for?

gingeme · 18/11/2007 22:45

Evening ladies.
Glad your feeling a bit more on top of things Rumpel. Its a double buggy but couldnt tell you what make it is as I cant remember off hand but it should be delivered tomm
Bit of a hic cup on the car front no thanks to my bloody bank. Cut a very long story short we went to buy the car on Saturday only for my card to be denied twice. Had to go to the bank to find out why to be told the cheque was nor clear. Have to wait till Wednesday nowRang the guy at the car place and explained. He was realy nice about it and said hell see us on Wednesday. God was so embaressed.
lo has been sooo clingy the past few days. In fact its realy getting to me now. Normaly Im quite happy to sit and cuddle him but just latly Its getting harder to sympathise. Maybe it my preg hormones. When I had my first ds and was pregnant with my secondhe went totaly off me. my ex found it fascinating that a 15 month old could show such feelings. He was fine with me once ds2 was born though
Well Im off to bed now. Have a good night xxxx

samsmam · 19/11/2007 15:00

Good news Rumpel- keep hold of that good brain- I think I lost mine at about 12 weeks (the pregnancy brain kicked in!)

PL- you are making me think about coco pops now.
I think I pu ton 2.5 stone already
I must stop eating...........

Gingeme- hope the car gets sorted, situations like that are embarrassing.

Taffy- about the maltesers thing, yeap still partial to a malteser or any other kind of chocolate for that matter! Roll on christmas!

majormoo · 19/11/2007 18:29

fingers crossed for you Rumpel. I had some bleeding early on with DD so as you know it is pretty common.

Sorry about your friend Princess. Everyone copes with death/grief differently-maybe he is in shock. Even if you know it is coming, it is still shocking when reality hits.

Hope all well and pregnancies going OK. We may start TTC again after Xmas depending on results of my latest smear test. Third one this year and it takes WEEKS to get results in Brighton, so I am constantly about to have a smear test, having a smear test or waiting for results. Thank god there will be an HPV vaccine by the time DD is 12 and she will not have to risk the stress of hideous abnormal smear test results.

santascRUMPELedsuit · 20/11/2007 11:31

Hi All,

Amber had her MMR and Pneomoccal booster today - wee soul cried and I had to whip her around quick toget the other leg. I pulled a mini jaffa cake out of my bag though and it soon took her mind off of the trauma of it all!

Am feeling hideous - keep waking up at 3am with restless legs and ROASTING hot and can't get back to sleep. Have terrible trapped wind at my ileocecal (sp) today too. I have had to put on my fat jeans already - swelling, wind or what? And I am feeling nauseous already - have got my travel bands on. I am very grateful to be pg (we are really lucky to have conceived so easily and quickly) but bloody hell please God don't let me feel as bad as last time! Sorry for the whinge. I don't usually feel sick until 6 weeks

Majormoo - have you had colposcopy (sp) treatment already and they are just keeping an eye on you - I seem to remember something about that a good while ago? It is a worry isn't it? I conceived Amber the night before my smear - had to apologise to the nurse for having had sex - was worth it though

Gingeme - maybe your LO is poorly just now? Amber was really clingy and doing my head in and it was becasue she had that hand, foot mouth working on her. Of course I feel really guilty now. Or maybe he is just picking up on your tired, pregnancy mood?

Hope it gets better soon and hope Edward got on okay with his MMR today too. Enjoy your car tomorrow

Need to go as I have loads of prep for UNi tomorrow - really can't be arsed with it tomorrow - they weren't a particularly friendly bunch last week. Because I have been there so long now I just slot in to the classes whereas most other people know each other. Sometimes you can get a nice bunch but quite often they are abit clique - you'd think being adults it wouldn't be like that but it is. Oh well just as well I am quite happy with my own company

Have a nice day all......

Samsmam - I always go off choccy when I am pg. it's just cake I need to watch out for We can cheer each other on post babies again to lose the weight.x

babyducky · 20/11/2007 13:33

hi all, hope everyones ok.

glad your ok rumpel, loving your new name!

Have any of you pg ladies thought of any names for your new LOs yet?

I have been to look at some more wedding dresses this morning, tried a few on, have not decided yet though.
I have found my bridesmaids dresses though!

gingeme · 20/11/2007 14:33

Thankyou Pumple lo seems to be a bit more himself these days. Hes got his injection at 4 this afternoon then off to Asda to get somr fresh pineapple which everyone is swearing by on the Due in Jan thread.
babyducky we have decided on Adam for our babys name but I can tell you it has taken 33 weeks to come to that desicion His full name will be Adam Michael(my Dads brothers name) Graham(dh's late brothers name). What do you think?

EffiePerine · 20/11/2007 14:45

Gingeme: love the name .

Rumpel: congratulations and fingers crossed that all goes well.

Samsmam and Princess: don't worry too much about the weight gain - I put on at least 2.5 stone but now am about 1/2 stone lighter than pre-pg - think it's all that running around and no sleep!

babyducky · 20/11/2007 15:01

lovely name gingeme

We are having michael for a middle name if we have another one, (dp's dad) Kai's middle name is david, after my dad.

hope your little man is ok after his injection, i'm not looking forward to kai's next week,

santascRUMPELedsuit · 20/11/2007 19:51

Evening All,

feeling much better now - thanl goodness - sorry for whinging but I'll probably do it a lot now! Cathartic and all that.

GINGEME - hope Edward is okay. Imagine you being swayed re the pineapple - you surely must be the most experienced Mummy on both the threads I'm sure this one will practically drop out what with all your practice

Babyducky - how exciting trying on dresses. I never did that. I wnated to have a day out in Glasgow and try them on and get my make-up done, lunch and wine with the girls but it never happened. I designed my own dress and had it made - it is beautiful though. what colour are you going for? Big merangue or classical/elegant?

We are going to call our next baby - Poppy Scarlet for a girl, Calvin Thomas for a boy We've had the names for ages now!

You pg ladies - did you find your tum got bigger staright away with subsequent pg? I'm not sure if I am bloated ( I am very windy at the mo' or my tum has got bigger already?

Well night all....

gingeme · 20/11/2007 21:33

Evening ladies.
Had a rather disapointing afternoon. Edward didnt have his jab as they ran out of the vaccine got to take him again next Thursday.
Went to Asda all ready to buy some fresh pineapple. They had sold out so I bought some Gaviscon tablets instead which so far have been brill and dont taste half bad either
Never mind we get our new car tommorrow. For real this time
Oh and the double buggy came that I ordered off Ebay and its lovely.
Well gonna watch last nights Eastenders now before I watcht the 10 oclock one.
Night all xxxxx

babyducky · 20/11/2007 22:47

hey rumpel- love both them names!

Calvin is on our short list for the next one!

I'd love to design my own dress! I'm not sure really what sort I want, there are so many different kinds! I want an ivory one, maybe with a little bit of gold detail, the bridesmaids dresses are gold.

But I cant decide if I want a strapless one, I thought I didn't till I started trying them on, now I dunno! Oh well, I will have to go again soon & try on loads more!

better go to bed anyway, night all, x

taffy101 · 21/11/2007 20:49

Exciting stuff choosing wedding dresses! I remember choosing mine - i was determined not to have a 'wedding dress' as such because got married abroad but couldn't find anything i liked and my sister made me go into a wedding dress shop in the end and then there was no going back - it even had a train which i was totally against to begin with!!

Glad everything ok rumpel - how do you manage to fit uni into your life - i have trouble keeping up with mumsnet never mind anything else. Have you nearly finished the course now? It is strange but true about grown up people being cliquey, i suppose its easier to deal with when ur older though.

I can;t believe everyone has already chosen their baby names. If Owen had been a girl I think he still wouldn't have a name!

Ginge - we got mmr next week - shite

taffy101 · 21/11/2007 20:51

BTW, how has lo moved my toolbar to the top of the screen? How do i move it back down again??

EffiePerine · 22/11/2007 11:27

We've still not done the mmr, was going to take DS yesterday but he was a bit snotty and coughy, so put off until next week. Not looking forward to that - he does not take well to immunisations. Still better than measles.

Gingeme: congrats on the new buggy and car. Does the one fit into the other?

Re wedding dresses, I was against a traditional dress as well but found something nice in a bridal shop in the end, after telling the salesperson FIRMLY that I wanted no meringues or sparkly bits or excessive flounces. I got a fitted cream crepe dress in the end, halter neck style top and embroidered back. Paid what seemed like a massive £300 at the time, would prob be laughed out of a bridal shop now!

gingeme · 22/11/2007 14:06

Ha ha dont know yet Effieperrin about the buggy fitting in the car as we wont be using it till Jan/Feb time but Im pretty sure it will the boot is massive. Just took it through the car wash. The boys were realy excited and quite fascinated by it
Lo is getting too clever by far now. We have a small square coffee table which hide the waste paper bin and magazine rack in the front room. He has discovered if he moves it out the way he can get to the rack and the bin. Have moved both the bin and rack for now.
He also says 'ta' and 'oh dear' and 'bye bye'now which is briliant.
Oh and he just loves un doing the velcro on hi shoes.Little monkey

santascRUMPELedsuit · 22/11/2007 14:35

Hi All,

Taffy - uni is only part-time. It is classed as a full time course but you are usually working in college at the same time. However, I have done all my required hours and am a SAHM for the moment. I will go back to work at some point though. The main thing is you need to fir in studying when LO is asleep - not always easy.

Still no essay result - the lecturer has been poorly so they have been marked by soemone else - should be here next week. I am a tad worried though as 5 people from another class failed!

GINGEME - are you crusing now What have you got blasting on the stereo with the windows down.!

My DH is very excited as he is going to pick up a new car (new for us but 2nd hand) car next weekend. He has been driving an old Shitron for years now and is moving up to a BMW. That is providing the house sale goes through okay! He is off to Singapore tomorrow for a week - will be weird here on our own. Still don't really know anyone as yet. I need to make the effort to go the toddlers club but have just been so busy.

Amber is fine after her MMR at the moment. It is a bit irritated on her leg where the jag went in but fine so far.

She had a great day at nursery yesterday and came home with a DVD. It is so funny - a company uses blue screen technology and she is sitting in a sleigh looking for Santa Claus then ends up in his grotto. Her wee face is hilarious - she is defo thinking - what are you silly sods up to! Although she loved seeing herself on TV when we got home and watched it together.

It is truly baltic here today - brr! DH's brother, SIL and nephew are coming this afternnon and staying for dinner. Haven't seen them for ages.

GINGEME - know what you mean about bins - there is nothing more fun than emptying things - and if it is a bin it is trememdous fun to mash everything into the carpet, rip up stinky old tissues and generally be a messy sod! Amber is forever emptying her nappy box. She loves to empty all the wet wipes, pull all the toilet roll out and pull all the nappy liners out, and tissue boxes agggg! How did you get on using real nappies?

Am thinking of taking LO swimming tomorrow - we haven't been for weeks now.

I keep waking up at 3am and cannot get back to sleep - it is a right pain. I am just ready for sleeping when DH has to get up and wakens Amber up as he is a noisy person.

Remarkably I feel really well today though - I always get a bit worried when I feel well- makes me think is baby ok? My first pg I was terribly sick and felt lousy and started feeling better at 11 weeks. I thought it was because I was nearly at the 3 month mark but it was becasue I had had a missed miscarriage

Well need to go and prepare for rellys - have a nice day all....
