babyducky · 12/12/2007 15:51

aw samsmam, they are brilliant,

gingemebells · 12/12/2007 20:56

Good evening ladies. Sorry I havnt been around but our pc went bang! Got a new tower today so back in the land of the pc world.
Lo is so bloody cheeky these days. Hes decided his new toy is our chone now and likes to put it on loud speaker and listen to the lady saying 'please replace the reciever' and laughing.
My bumps getting bigger and heavier by the day. Had quite a few contractions the other night. Bit scary as it would have been way to early.
Wonderful pics samsam. Lucky you getting a 4d scan. Hows Samantha doing?
Glad everyone else is doing fine

samsmam · 12/12/2007 21:24

Glad you are back with us Gingeme- I was lost without my PC for those few weeks!

Samantha is doing fine- except how long do these colds go on for it seems weeks! She has just cut teeth 13 & 14 (the canines) I think. It seems a cold with every two teeth!
She too is so cheeky, she has learnt so much so quickly.

Is everyone's LO's walking now?

Think someone asked about foot size, Samantha is 3.5G, clarkes shoes are so expensive I paid £26 for her first ones!

Hope everyone and their LO's are ok and ready for Christmas. Anyone bought anything exciting for their LO's? Samantha has a mothercare trike in pink (of course) with a parent handle, and lots of little bits. Still trying to find room for the birthday stuff!

babyducky · 13/12/2007 16:55

hey ginge glad your back,

samsmam- it was me who asked about shoe size, kai is a 5f, he must have quite big feet then, seems most LOs his age are a size 3.
yeah clarks are expensive aren't they, we got kais from there. they were 26 aswell, I'm not that keen on their shoes, I do like how they are made but they just dont have much choice, every little boy I see has the same shoes as kai!

he started walking properly on his bday, is samantha walking now?

yep we are all ready for xmas, i'm so excited this year! We have got kai a wooden drum & a few other wooden toys & lots of clothes and books & some new trainers.
He doesn't need any more toys, hes got so many, half of our living room is full of toys now, & he's got a playroom full & loads in his bedroom too! Dunno how we gonna fit anymore in!!!

Hows everyones LOs been with xmas trees? Kai has been much better than i thought he would be! He's not that interested now, evry now and then he goes and smacks one of the branches but he's been quite good with it.

babyducky · 13/12/2007 22:34

hello ep,
havent heard from you in a while, hope your well,

cant believe how dead it is on here!!!

santascRUMPELedsuit · 14/12/2007 16:27

Hi All,

SAMSMAM - good to hear from you and the pics are amazing!

CAPTAINVIMES - I get his new one every year for Christmas. Did you watch the HOGFATHER last year? Great.

I got Amber's feet measured on Friday and she is 4F. Not walking here yet though so got her some Clarks off of Ebay for £8.00 for when she starts - she is not far away now.

We got invited to a Bday party this week. I got all made-up and did my hair and we arrived today a day early pregnancy brain here. feeling really sick and having to wear a swimming nose toggle on my snoz when changing LO

Inlaws coming tomorrow and workmen just finished on wednesday so been cleaning like crazy woman.

Last time Gemmitygem posted she was moving so she is porbably in the midst of all that at the moment and too busy to post.

Lo here has an OKO trike for Christmas and lots of books, musical things shape sorters that type of thing.

Well must go as I smell poo! =sickemticon!

gingemebells · 17/12/2007 12:44

Hi everyone how are you all?
Lo has a disgusting cold again. Unfortunately he has passed it onto me now. I have a very sore throat and dry cough. How are your lo's doing with your Christmas trees? Edward hasnt realy taken alot of notice of ours. The first few days it was up he took a few bits off the bottom branches but he doesnt seem too bothered now.
Is everyone ready for Christmas too? We did the last of our grocery shopping yesterday. Just the beer and wine to get. I promised my two bigger boys they can have either a shandy or wine spritzer with their Christmas dinner.
Have bought lo quite alot for Christmas. An early learning fire engine that makes noises and flashes. An iggle piggle and Upsey Daisy that make sounds. A little Vteck bear to hang on his cot that sings and says a few phrases and 4 cardboard books. Wont even start on what Ive got for the other boys
I am 36+2 days today and feeling remarkebly pregnant now. Still, being the control freak that I am we have everything ready for baby now. Just hope he stays were he is till after Christmas though.
Well I hope you are all well and keeping warm. xxx

babyducky · 17/12/2007 12:50

hi everyone,

getting really excited about christmas now

busy visiting everyone this week & going to MILs thur till sun so may not be around before xmas, hope you all have a great time!

xxxxxxxxxx

princessllama · 19/12/2007 18:54

getting quieter and quieter. have had flu and so's lo. can't wait to feel better again and a bit more festive-at the moment am like the bad spirit of christmas, groaning at the thought of buying and wrapping more presents and cards. bah humbug. will help when dh gets back from work trip on friday, feel so sleep deprived from bad nights with lo. prob cos am so spoilt normally with dh doing so much

samsmam · 20/12/2007 09:53

Hi all, not too sure where time goes it just seems to fly by.

Not been up too much, too knackered. It is hard work being pregnant and having LO especially a little cheeky one like I got!! Anyone's LO got a temper if they don't get what they want? Samantha is a horror but I love her! She keeps climbing on everything too...... oh to have eyes in the back of my head!

Got so much to sort out and get for new LO's arrival. Only 10 weeks to go and nothing is prepared. I have made DP promise in the new year he will get out my moses basket and stuff.

Well if I don't get to post again before christmas- everyone that is not pregnant have a good drink for us pregnant ones! Although I may have to have a sneaky brandy and lemonade- weak one of course.

gingemebells · 20/12/2007 13:00

Hi samsam Yes Edward will in fact come and smack me if I tell him no or if anyone else tells him no for that matter He climbs on the chair in our bedroom now to look out the window. Realy scary considering we have wood flooring in there now. 10 weeks to go!. Do you think this pregnancy has gone quicker than your first? I have 3 weeksish now. Gonna put the black bags on my bed tonight 'just in case'. Had mw appt yesterday. She assures me lo wont be putting in an appearance b4 Christmas. Thank goodness.
Ive bought a bottle of my fave wine for Christmas Day and a bottle of lemonade to mix with it.
Im still feeling rubbish with this cold. My back aches from all the coughing Ive been doing. ds's seem to be getting over theres now though.
Well I hope you are all in good health.
Take care xxxx

samsmam · 20/12/2007 14:22

3 weeks to go- your seems to have flown by- to me I would say that!!
It has gone a lot quicker this time round- I have a SIL that is due 4 days before me, her first, and we seem to have shared a lot and seen loads of each other. Think that is what has made it go quicker.
Glad I am not the only one with a child that smacks in temper, I don't know where they pick it from, not like I smack her. She is funny though when you tell her no and she waves her finger at you!

princessllama · 20/12/2007 21:23

i'm so glad samantha and edward are doing the whole smacking thing too. i was just about to post a despairing message. Hope scratches my face when she doesn't get what she wants. I'm feeling a bit low with the flu and dh being away and living with dad. Dad keeps saying it's because she's spoilt, but it's not like i'm giving in to her. i was at my wit's end today, she kept doing it and i ran out of energy to deal with it. i just had to put her on the floor and leave the room for a minute. really impressed that you two are so upbeat, especially with only 3 weeks to go gingeme! hopefully lo will sleep better tonight and i'll be feeling more positive in the morning.
anyone got any bright ideas what to do with the lo's in this freezing weather and now we're in school hols too? dad can't cope with her destroying his sitting room all day so have to take her out.
sorry not being v positive lady

gingemebells · 20/12/2007 21:36

Hi princess. I realise its freezing but lo would still benefit from a walk out in the cold every other day or something. Do you have such a thing as a Clown Town or soft play area near you? If shes anything like Edward she would love a couple of hours climbing on stuff and generaly chatting to other lo's. Good luck.

samsmam · 21/12/2007 08:01

Hi PL- I was at my wits end last Sunday- I was screaming at Samantha to stop being naughty. I ended up bawling my eyes out because I felt like a bad mum for shouting. We are trying the ignoring approach now, but its a bit difficult when she sinks her teeth in you!
I don't think its because they are spoilt, I wonder if its the pregnancy sense our three have. Strange how we are all struggling with temper and we are all pregnant!
You could always come to my house and let the two girls destroy my place!! And we could sit and drink tea and eat cake.

santascRUMPELedsuit · 21/12/2007 19:22

Hi Ladies,

Yep temper tantrums here too! Flailing legs and arms, head swinging from side to side HUGE intake of breath, silent scream then WAAAAAAAAAAAA! out it comes fit to burst your eardrums! She is a cheeky wee minx. She knows when she is not allowed to do something, looks at you, reaches to 'do whatever it is' then grins and smirks when you say no, next minute she is right back in there! [exasperated emoticon]I am dreading the teenage years (we are very alike)

Am totally unorganised this year for Christmas - been feeling terrible, hugging the bucket and generally feeling awful. I would love 3 kids but (fingers crossed all goes well with this one) never again! I feel like I've already been pregnant for a hundred years - I hate being pregnant - but I love the end result

I haven't even wrapped LO's pressies yet and not even made it to the neighbours to post their cards thourhg their doors . I've only been to the bin and back for the past 3 days

SAMSMAM - tea and cake - yum. I go right off tea/coffee when early preggers - still like the odd peice of cake though

GINGEME - I am predicting the 28th December for you A cold is a cleansing thing in alternative medicine and prepares your body for a new phase! You should beable to pop em out no bother now

PRINCESS - sorry to hear you are feeling low. When is your Dh back? Must be hard for you just now without his support and it can be very tiresome living with parent's again when you are a grown up! When is your house supposed to be ready?

Well I must go vegetate for a wee while before I need to go to bed. Take care allxxx

gingemebells · 21/12/2007 19:43

Hi Rumpel. Sorry your still feeling rough with your pregnancy. 28th sounds good to me as long as I can get Christmas out the way.
Edward does exactly the same when he knows full well he isnt allowed to do something and looks you all innocent as if to say 'but Im only a baby'
He was walking around for ages with dh's mobile earlier and unlike me dh hasn't learnt that anything of value or importance ie remotes, mobiles ,dvds all go up on the pc desk. So I let him have the phone. He was ok with it till it went in his mouth then dh noticed and took it from him. So then he threw himself on the floor and tried for the sympathy vote but when he realised he wasn't getting any attention he gave up

taffy101 · 21/12/2007 19:56

Sounds like everyone having fun + games with LO's tempers! Owen screeches when he can't do/get what he wants but hasn't hit (yet) - i look forward to that one! He too has mostly ignored the christmas tree. He is way more sedate than his big sister (i did hope that would be the case), although he is exceedingly wriggly when changing nappies/getting dressed which I remember drove me mad with DD!

Glad everyone's pg going well. Can't believe its gone so quick for ginge and samsmam.
Any sign of that placenta moving yet samsmam - plenty of time yet though.

princessllama - re freezing weather, according to Billy Connolly there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes - something I frequently try to remind myself when I can't be bothered to get out and do something
Also as ginge says, soft play centre is good idea - although prob busy in school hols.

Was thinking about snow the other day and marvelled at the fact that our LO's will be able to play out in it when it arrives and have bought a tiny pair of wellies - so cute

princessllama · 21/12/2007 21:54

thank you all for cheering comments. i shall remember weather/clothes quote taffy. have just bought big snow suit for lo thinking along same lines. really made me feel not on my own to hear you're all experiencing same. will try soft play area ginge.
samsmam maybe you're right about the pg thing too. would love to come and eat cake with you, suspect that by the time we got to your house she would be well and truly badly behaved though.-bit of a mammoth journey. i think part of the prob this week has been enforced solitary confinement with the flu.
rumpel, really sympathise. i found it so hard that first bit , esp 2nd time when no time to stop for a second. better go dad wants his computer. do feel have completely regressed living at home.

EffiePerine · 24/12/2007 12:55

Just a quick message to say HAPPY CHRISTMAS too al of you and your LOs . Hope you all havea fab Xmas, esp the pg ladies.

Princessllama: you have my admiration for managing staying at home without murdering someone. I can manage about 3 days before I start chewing the furniture! We're doing family at New Years and having Xmas on our own in London.

Tantrums? oh yes, many of those - DS throws himself to the floot and kicks and screams . He's also started banging his head when frustrated, though he usually chooses a soft surface . We try and ignore as well. Just their age, I think.

Gingeme: the 28th is my wedding anniversary (9 years this year) so a very good date! Hope your LO hangson over Xmas and you get the water birth you want .

Runpel: how I hated the early part of pg. How many weeks now?

DS has a wheely stick bell thing among other presents - he is going to be seriously excited on Xmas day

gingemebells · 24/12/2007 15:24

Thankyou Effie and a very merry Christmas to you and yours and to everyone else on this thread.
Cant wait to see lo's face tommorrow morning. Ds 3 too. I just love Christmas. xxx
