And dairy-free too if needed.

It's not been the best month for a lot of Januaries has it?

Morning!

Wilkie - lucky you sleeping til 7! I am currently looking for ideas to get Saul to sleep past 5.45 am! Maybe I am asking too much of him, after all he is actually sleeping now
And love the way you are posting at work! You rebel you!

EandH lol I can't quite commit myself to saying saul will be the only 1, yet I really don't want to go through all that again!

Count me in on the secret santa too (what is it? never done one

Wilkie · 29/08/2007 09:29

Ratfly - day off today. I'm not that daring!

Secret Santa goes like this. You email me, I put all the names into a hat and pull them out so e.g. you get UD - you then buy UD a £10 gift - can be anything you like. The only person that will know who is buying for who will be me so it is a secret - it is then great fun trying to guess who bought for you.

ratfly · 29/08/2007 09:32

that sounds good fun! definitely count me in!

ahhh, pity you aren't at work, as I wanted to send virtual abuse to the cock opposite you! (trying to quit smoking, so I need some outlet!)

theUrbanDryad · 29/08/2007 09:49

morning all! GUESS WHAT?? Zac slept till ten past EIGHT!! not sure how many times he was up in the night as i just hoik him into bed with us if he wakes up and then feed him through the night (usually without waking up!) ...i woke up with a sharp pain in my right boob in the night then heard Z drinking and thought "Ah, I know what that is!" think his good sleep might have something to do with the fact i gave him Medised before bedtime!

Lizzzombie · 29/08/2007 10:31

Please appease me.
DJ has bruises all over his forehead from where he has banged his head on the bars of his cot (not constantly like a romanian orphan, but at least once a day). It looks awful. Please tell me other LO's have this too!

theUrbanDryad · 29/08/2007 10:35

Zac has all sorts of miscellaneous injuries all over him. i wouldn't worry about it.

canmummy · 29/08/2007 12:01

Morning all!

Left lo asleep in her cot, older 2 at MIL's and dh gardening. So peace and quiet for a few minutes at least

Can't believe the thought of the next one is coming round! After my op last week I said I'd had enough but even last night I said to dh maybe not!

UD I'm so jealous of sleeping late! Unfortunatley lo has decided she hates co-sleeping so this am at 6am when I'm trying to snuggle up to her she just complained very loudly until dh put her back in her own cot then she went back to sleep!

Must e-mail wilkie about secret santa so will be back later!

Lizzzombie · 29/08/2007 12:54

Uh Oh...
I have broken DP's drill.
I'm gonna be in sooooo much trouble!
Was attaching sanding head to drill to sand off 23 layers of flaking paint on front wall (Tommy Walsh eat your heart out) and remembered to put in safety thread thing, through a hole thing, then turned it on, and whoops....a big bit of the drill came flying off. Its fairly new too.
Like I said. Uh Oh!

Shimmer · 29/08/2007 13:01

Lizz Freddie bangs his head ALL THE TIME on EVERYTHING. Luckily nothig too hard thats made me really worry yet, though he did have a nasty bruise for a couple of days last week. He seems to know what he's doing in so many respects and yet continually hits his head on his cot and plows into table/chair legs. Radiators are also a bit of a hazard these days. He seems to be quite fascinated with them, but crawls (i should say drags himself, he does as commando-style crawl, where he drags himself on his elbows!) straight into the bottom of them! What am i meant to do when it's winter and they're hot??? Don't know if i can keep him away frm all the radiators in the house!?!

Freddie woke up at 10 to 9 this morning! I'm loving our routine these days! He goes to bed about 8 and (usually) sleeps through til between 8 and 9am. Then he just has 1 long sleep from around 1-3pm. And I get 2 whole blissful hours to myself

Shimmer · 29/08/2007 13:06

Ooops Lizz. Well it sounds like you did everything you were meant to (like i'd know...)so it was obviously the drill's fault not yours! We really need to get a drill. Just for putting up a big mirror and a couple of shelves. Can you or your DP recommend a good one?? How much do you think you need to spend to get a reasonable one?

LadyTophamHatt · 29/08/2007 15:37

I'm a bloody master fisherwoman I tell you!

Went again today and cought 10 between us. DS1 found a single whitebait (a little fish basically) on the shore so I hookED it on the hook and cast out.

3 mackeral all at once.

I reaslise its actually quIte sad but its great fun.....I secretly think DH is quite amazed that I can cast out as well as him, Maybe he finds it a turn on!! hahahahahahaha.

Ds2+3 are right in there when I unhook them ,one had the hook through its eye and out the top of its head, and they're like "Wooooooow..look at that...let me hold it mum....woooow" Ds1 has to wlak away befoer he passes out.

Then the fight each other over whose goning to clunk it on the head...vicious children!!

We got home (after a short detour to the vets as Jessie, our dog, had cut her leg on something on the ebach so had to go and get it stitched) and my the pink fishing rod I ordered the other day had arrived.

I AM A TRUE FISHERWOMAN* NOW

Lizzzombie · 29/08/2007 15:45

LTH - where do you fish? Have you got a secret spot which spurts out so many fish? Its very impressive. 3 at once! I've always fancied going out on a mackrel fishing trip from the end of the pier. But I'd have to borrow one of your DS's I wouldnt fancy clunking the things on the head!

Shimmer - Not sure which drill is best or anything. But we have/had - ish a black & decker and I think it was somewhere between £50-£60 I think drills are those things that the more you spend = the better it is. We use ours loads. Inside and out, and for drilling and sanding. I have a thing for power tools! would LOVE a jigsaw!

Lizzzombie · 29/08/2007 15:47

Also - breaking news.
We had set a date for our wedding for a year tomorrow. BUT after looking through too many wedding magazines and doing a few sums, its apparent we can no way afford to get married in 12 months. So we are re booking for end of August 2009. Hopefully, by that time I will be thin, and my nails wont be shot, and my hair will be thick again....I'd better not be pregnant again by then!

LadyTophamHatt · 29/08/2007 15:56

lizz, just on my beach.
Dh caught 4 on one cast

JodieG1 · 29/08/2007 16:09

Did anyone see the link I posted for the Christmas experience in Kent? Wouldn't want anyone to miss out

Wilkie · 29/08/2007 16:49

Well, I have had a really lovely day with Vino, Mimi (another MNer from Lincoln) and my BF. The weather was kind and we went to the pub with the LOs for something to eat. Thanks for a lovely time Vino.

Lizz - J always has some kind of varying marks on his head. He crawls too fast and rather than crawling round things just goes straight over them or into them. The cot thing is awful - at night I hear him walloping himself on the bars but I figure as long as there is no crying then he's just fine.

Interesting thought though - do you think those of us with boys are a little more carefree than those with girls?? The whole boisterous boy and delicate girl thing?

Secret Santa list is as follows (I have added RGee cos I am sure she will join in)

  1. Wilkie
  2. EAH
  3. UD
  4. Vino
  5. 2Happy
  6. LTH
  7. LAL
  8. Jodie
  9. Liz
  10. Shimmer
  11. Canmummy
  12. Rgee
  13. Ratfly

Have I missed anyone that wants to do it? Will leave it until Friday. Has anyone seen Dragonhart recently?

eandh · 29/08/2007 16:58

Just a quick post that park is about 20mins from where we live, but I can't afford £90 when Htatie will be so little sounds fab though.

Had a good day had nephew this morning and then went to mums with the girls this afternoon as its her birthday tomorrow, but she'll be at work. DH home early but is going to footie at 6.30 so hoping they'll go to bed and I have a quiet night.

LTH V impressed with the fishing and wilkie very of your mett up. Lizz I love weddings I was such a bridezilla (complete control freak about the whole thing!!)

Right I have 2 messy covered in fish pie daughters that need a bath

LadyTophamHatt · 29/08/2007 17:42

£212.35 to get Jessie leg sewn up!!

Poor thing is in her bed witha big purple bandage around her foot/leg.

I contacted the local paper to see if they could do something to say "PICK YOUR EFFIN BBQ'S UP!". They're coming here tomorrow to take a photo of Jess for the paper!!
she'd cut her leg on the wire mesh thing on those throw away bbq's and some twat had leftthem on the beach.

I dread to think if a little boy/girl had cut her leg on them because they weren't clean. We went back to the beach and picked them up so I can put them in the bin properly.

Lizzzombie · 29/08/2007 17:47

Ahh poor LTH's doggy. Didnt realise you had your own beach LTH we have to share ours with the plebs!

EaH - Go on, tell us the most bridezilla'ist thing you that you did? I am thinking along the lines of laminated lists of lists of lists? Or maybe you laminated all the bridal magazines so you could read them in the bath?! x

LadyTophamHatt · 29/08/2007 17:50

Oh yes Lizzz, its all mine...didn't I tell you??

Obviously I share it with the rest of teh town but its mine all the same

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 17:54
