Sorry, couldn't think of anything witty against a background of constant whinging!

bumperlicious · 22/08/2007 15:08

Argh, this baby has not stopped either whinging or feeding since we woke up this morning! Argghhh! Can't get anything done! Plus, and this is going to sound ridiculous, I can't sit on my sofa as there was a spider on there this morning and now it's disappeared down the back of the cushions

Hi Bumper - that's not ridiculous - I would be exactly the same....so where are you sitting?

Any luck with flat hunting?

My DD has got tummy ache I think ...had the biggest monster poo I have ever seen from her and was inconsolable.....calpol sorted that out though!

foxybrown · 22/08/2007 15:17

Hi Bumper! Hi Charlie!

and I was going to come on here and ask for permission to be smug, please, may I?

LO slept from 11pm to 8am
She slept whilst I took the other 3 swimming.
She is by far the easiest of all my children!

I'd be tempted to have another if they were this good!

trendaverter · 22/08/2007 15:34

Bumper ditto, I cannot get anything done either, DS either wants to play or eat, if I don't play with him he grizzles and screams.
Luckily he does like a bit of telly though so I can plonk in front of that for 5 minutes while I go to the loo...!

Charlie999 · 22/08/2007 15:39

Ohh you lucky thing Foxy

I was up twice for DD last night and the rest of the night was kept up by DH coughing...I am knackered today ...and todays the day when DD is being clingy and only cuddles from mummy will do!!

bumperlicious · 22/08/2007 15:43

That's great foxy! You deserve to be smug!

Sorry you are have a day of it too TA. DD has just gone down to sleep, don't know for how long though.

House hunting is not great so far, not much around and DD has been too cranky for me to do much searching online. Tried ringing a letting agent this morning but had to hang up as I couldn't concentrate with the crying!

Hope your DD feels better charlie. I am on my nursing chair! God I am such a wuss, but my house seems full of spiders at the moment, I HATE them.

Well, there she goes again, that lasted ooh 3 minutes

trendaverter · 22/08/2007 15:47

bumper you poor thing, I know what those days are like!
I am having one myself but at least for once he is cheery. He is demanding constant attention, refuses to sleep, just wants to giggle and play, not with toys, just with ME. Argh!

I even took him out in the pram for 2 hours earlier, did he sleep? noooooo, just smiled and cooed at everyone.

All very well until you know that he will be irritable and overtired by 7pm and screaming blue murder.

foxybrown · 22/08/2007 15:56

For a clingy baby I suggest:

make a cuppa, get some cake, sit on sofa, switch onto bad Channel 5 TV film (starring Cheryl Ladd preferably, because they all do) and cuddle said baby until evening time. When DP comes home, complain that LO has been clingy ALL DAY and I've got NOTHING done.

Then hand baby over, order take away and have a bath

Charlie999 · 22/08/2007 15:58

sounds like a plan to me

bumperlicious · 22/08/2007 16:29

That's a great plan Foxy! She's just fed and gone back to sleep. Who knows for how long!

I can't believe that I am saying this but even though DD is now sleeping 8 hours, I am still soooo tired. I didn't even have to wake up to her last nigh, DH did. I wen to bed at 11.30. Woke up at 6.30 then went back to sleep for an hour but all day I have still felt like I could go back to bed. Considering I went for the first 6 weeks surviving on 5 hours or so you would think that I would feel better, but I am still knackered. Could it just be the breastfeeding?

OP posts:
sputnik · 22/08/2007 16:30

You just have to bow down to Foxy's advanced mothering skills, don't you?

Charlie999 · 22/08/2007 16:34

Bumper - perhaps a blood test is in order? Anaemic? Thyroid? Think you should see your GP....

andiem · 22/08/2007 16:38

aagh why do you all have babies who sleep. my lo's longest stretch was 5 hrs and never been repeated he has moved from 50th to 91st centile though so obviously feeding is his thing. He goes down at 7 feeds at 10,2,6 and up again at 7to 8 ish I feel ok though are we still on for the 29th at the horniman?

bumperlicious · 22/08/2007 16:42

Andiem - I'm paying for it now! She is awake and crying again! I'm on for the 29th btw.

I think I will go to the dr's for a blood test.

OP posts:
bumperlicious · 22/08/2007 16:46

Sputnik - totally! TA said she was dead impressed at the meet up when Foxy changed DD's nappy quickly on her lap! That's impressive. I guess when you have 3 other children you can't be fart arsing around in a mother and baby changing room

Argh she is making her hungry cry (it's more like a shout) but I have fed her every bloody hour!

OP posts:
riabutterflew · 22/08/2007 16:47

Can I also be smug? My house is SO peaceful. DS1&2 have gone away with the GPs. Only DH & me & LO. AND LO is asleep!

better go and hoover upstairs before DH gets frisky...

bumperlicious · 22/08/2007 16:51

I know what you mean Ria, it's DH's birthday tomorrow, I might have to 'put out' ! Right, obviously the only way to shut this child up is to stick a boob in her mouth!

OP posts:
trendaverter · 22/08/2007 16:54

Bumper
Are you feeling a bit used and abused?!
Putting out here, a boob in a mouth there...

I am still on for the 29th. Debating if to drive or not, I probably will, the train will take longer from Essex

faylisa · 22/08/2007 17:04

I'm not sure whether I should come on 29th - I feel a bit as if I've 'butted in' on your thread so maybe I'll wait for the next meet up.

Ps - my DS isn't sleeping much at night either - we can sometimes coax him back to sleep with the dummy instead of a bottle but not always. We keep hoping that he'll take the hint and realise we won't feed him but so far he isn't getting the message!

daisyandbabybootoo · 22/08/2007 17:10

LOL at you lot this afternoon...

..and the dIstracted mother award goes to...

...Daisy.

packed the dcs up after lunch, set alarm locked door, goit dcs in car, dropped in to feed friends cat, went to hospital, took dcs to soft play. had a lovely relaxing time while dd slept and ds played for an hour. went to get car key out of bag and noted no house keys. frantic search of bag and car...nada. pulled into drive, four hours after leaving the house...keys dangling from the lock . thankfully we live in a very quiet cul-de-sac and we are at the end of it so you can't see our side door until you are halfway up the drive. what a farking banana brained eejit!

not sure i should be allowed to have children. what with trying to burn the house down and forgetting the name of everything at the momonet, I'm not sure I'm a fit mother

trendaverter · 22/08/2007 17:11

Faylisa don't be ridiculous, the more the merrier!

faylisa · 22/08/2007 17:16

Thanks - am having a crappy day and feeling a bit fed up and terribly over-sensitive about everything at the moment - I blame the hormones (how long can I keep blaming them?!). I have just checked the RAC route-planner and, in theory, it is only about a half hour drive from here so if you all hate me then I can get in the car and run away!

daisyandbabybootoo · 22/08/2007 17:21

when i said lol, i meant at your upbeat sense of humour...not the fact that there are several girny clingy LOs and tired over sensitive mums.

i'll just shut up and go finish my "burglary victim here" poster for the front window

bumperlicious · 22/08/2007 17:27

faylisa of course you should come! you haven't butted in at all. we are just pleased you've stuck around after getting to know us!

TA, i just have to accept my body is not my own for a while! but that's ok, i'd rather have it back when there is less of it

daisy! i'm obsessive about my keys now. terrified of locking dd in the car or in the house!

OP posts:
trendaverter · 22/08/2007 17:29

Bumper is right we do tend to scare people off

Daisy - I can't believe you did that. Well Actually I can. I have done many similar things over the last 3 weeks but nothing quite so spectacular as you!
