Sorry, couldn't think of anything witty against a background of constant whinging!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
trendaverter · 22/08/2007 20:35

Well I thought the same, I thought wayyy too young, but he has been getting quite inconsolable sometimes and had a slight temperate and red cheeks and chin, (not to mention the dribble everywhere) and I rang my mum to see what she thought, she said teething, and true enough as soon as he has a gob ful of granules he's as happy as larry again. For 30 minutes, anyway!

It only seems to be a problem of a late afternoon/evening though oddly enough.

annobal · 22/08/2007 20:36

Just got back from osteopath and put ds into bed - he didn't even stir. That said, I don't think he slept more than 1 hour today so maybe he'll have a bit better night - he's still only going 2-3 hours between feeds at night despite my (and Gina's) best efforts.

Foxy, definitely bowing down to your parenting skills. How did swimming go this morning?

Daisy, I've been wearing my underwire bra all day and it is really comfy (and my norks no longer hanging around my navel). That said, these would not be my usual choice of undergarment, as they do bear a remarkable resemblance to my grannie's.

Faylisa, please come to the horniman, the more the merrier!

sputnik · 22/08/2007 20:37

By the way, I once brushed a scorpion out of my hair. Yer wimps

annobal · 22/08/2007 20:38

Poor ds TA - teething is awful. At least you can narrow it down to something. DS also has teeth coming through - no signs of teething yet though.

annobal · 22/08/2007 20:39

Sputnik, that sends shivers down my spine. Give me a deadly snake any day

Actually, don't, I would definitely pass out!

TALLULAHBELLE · 22/08/2007 20:43

Bumper- soz to be voice of doom & gloom but i am in 2nd floor tenement flat & bringing the pram in & out is a total PITA. Could be the type of pram but i need to take down the chassis, changing bag, rain covers etc go back for carrycot part & DD & can only just manage that but she is v light at mo. If get any shopping it takes 3 trips to get back up. Wasn't so bad when DH was here but finding it so difficult on my own that sometimes it stops me leaving the house. Also never put my washing outside cos of logistics so always have undies hanging over the radiators - v. chic

trendaverter · 22/08/2007 20:43

hahaha you guys are funny
When me and DH were camping in Uruguay (ooh get me) we woke up and rolled the tent up only to find that half the worlds scorpion and spider population had taken up residence under the tent clearly enjoying the nice warm bodies on top!

I got bitten by one of the spiders on my leg! Ouch
DH was so concerned about me he poured drops of coffee over one of the scorpions so it would react and he could take photos.
Boys eh.

sputnik · 22/08/2007 20:45

I quite often find scorpions here (usually on the floor though). I used to take them away from the house and liberate them, but now I have a zero tolerance approach after finding one under a toy about a foot away from DD when she was a baby. Apparently the ones you get here aren't too serious though - like a wasp sting.

Would've thought as an Aussie you'd be ok with creepy crawlies

daisyandbabybootoo · 22/08/2007 20:46

Some babies are born with teeth as well. BFers count yourselves lucky...can you imagine all that early days pain with teeth added into the mix....OUCH!!

DD is dribbling a lot, but no real signs of it yet. Can't actually remember when DS cut his first tooth. I think it was around 6 months.

DD has also started to get really grumpy grisly and demending early evenings. It makes for difficult bedtime routine with DS...it's hard to read a story when you have a purple faced screaming baby hanging on your arm. she seems to be having a growth spurt again as has fed loads today.

Scorpions....yeech. Are they poisonous?

lilQuidditchKel · 22/08/2007 20:48

nudge nudge Faylisa, it's me from NCT

Rest of you lot, sorry not been on here a while, the days fly by with my two always needing something or other. Not to mention DH. Or the dog. I'm beginnng to seriously wonder if I don't have to go check into a hotel in order to avoid at least one of them waking me up every 2 hours at night!!

At least my girl is eating regularly. Can't say she sleeps through yet. Oh and still on meds to make her poo...poor thing when she's older I don't look forward to telling her how much time I've spent peering at her bum as a baby...

More abou this tummy acne thing - I'm noticing it too

sputnik · 22/08/2007 20:49

Tallulah, know what you mean, I only have a flight of stairs in front of the house but it is a pain. When DD gets to 3 months you should get yourself a lightweight folding buggy - much easier.

trendaverter · 22/08/2007 20:50

Some are worse than others.
Smaller the claws, the more poisonous the venom I think. Only a problem if you step on one!
Annobal you will like this - When DH was a yung'un he was watching telly and flicked a spider off him, his Dad later found it, it was a funnelweb!

foxybrown · 22/08/2007 20:50

Eurgh! Spiders and scorpions in your hair?? Shudder!

Swimming went well thanks Annobal, lo slept the whole time and DS1 had a lesson, so was a piece of piss really.

I am SUCH a good mother, DD2 has vommed on the sofa. Am prompted to wash the covers ... but only because it still has splashes of DS2s vom on it ... from when he puked whilst I was in labour.

Nice!!

annobal · 22/08/2007 20:53

Spiders I can handle (not literally of course) especially the wimpy ones found here but snakes I have a real phobia about. We used to get brown snakes where I grew up. We always thought they were pretty harmless but found out later that they were one of the deadliest in oz . One once crawled (?) through my brother's legs.

Scorpions are up there with snakes for me and I think if one was in my hair I would be going the buzz

daisyandbabybootoo · 22/08/2007 20:55

LOL foxy...my sofa has taken on a mottled appearance from DDs frequent possets (why is it that no matter where I place the spit rag, she always misses it and i end up with dribble all over me/the sofa/the cushions)

tummy acne????

Hey Lilkel....how goes things? You look like you've been busy on facebook though!

Your DCs are gorgeous btw

annobal · 22/08/2007 20:56

TA that's hideous. I once lifted a piece of corrugated iron in the sheep yards (sorry - going all rural on you now) and found a trapdoor spider family. Still gives me nightmares!

annobal · 22/08/2007 20:58

LOL Foxy & Daisy. We're really going to have to give our carpet a good clean before we move out the amount of wees ds2 has done on the carpet since ds3 arrived

faylisa · 22/08/2007 21:03

Hi lilkel - i wondered where you were!

daisyandbabybootoo · 22/08/2007 21:04

bumper...re your tiredness...have you had your iron levels checked? you may be anaemic. or it could be your thyroid as andiem(?) suggested. undactive thyroid is quite common after childbirth. Is your hair getting really brittle...that's another symptom, as is forgetfulness. ( daisy makes note to mention door key incident to doc tomorrow)

I've got to give up alcohol . Not that I drink a lot, but apparently it interferes with the ADs I'm on (basically counteracts the effects of the ADs)....they neglected to tell me this when I was prescribed them, but it explains why I'm not fully back on form yet.

daisyandbabybootoo · 22/08/2007 21:15

Im off...still feel crap after my sore boobs at the weekend. They're still tender, and hurt like hwell when I feed, but I'm not getting the shooting pains in my armpit anymore. I think it might have been the onset of mastitis as I'd been headachey/fluey on friday/saturday. Going to the docs tomorrow to see what he says.

I'm getting signed up for gluten free bread and past on prescription. I'm entitled to it, but have never really bothered before. But, as I'm now a skint pikey and getting free prescriptions...well why not!!

loonylovegood · 22/08/2007 21:15

TA I got your facebook message, I'll reply in a sec. I'm gonna go and get in my pjs and get a bowl of cereal and I'll be back!

justbeme · 22/08/2007 21:28

oh you chatty lot!
i never used 2 be afraid of spiders until one bit me when i picked it up - it was like an electric shock and it lasted for some time. i didnt know that they could bite b4 that.
met a girl from AN class - her boy born10th june - now weighing about 11lb and shes put him on baby rice and extra hungry milk !!

trendaverter · 22/08/2007 21:29

JBM - I am a first timer and in no position to judge, but won't that be bad for him so young?

daisyandbabybootoo · 22/08/2007 21:33

I'm still here....just found this link for free Letts educational books if anyone with school age DCs is interested.

night this time!

justbeme · 22/08/2007 21:33
