I'm back off holiday!! Well actually we got back Tuesday night but internet's been down until about 3 mins ago So now I've got more than a week of catching up to do It'll take me days to do that!

How is everyone?

Wilkie · 07/06/2007 17:14

Erm, 2Happy, why is there a mug in the clearly labelled cupboard marked 'glasses'. Humph.

Pass me some chocolate someone.............please...........!

vinorouge · 07/06/2007 17:24

Vino checks in with her dyson to give the floor a good going over before the babies roll about everywhere.....

None of my veg is pureeed. I'm so tired at the moment. By the time I was ready to head out today the post came with my letter from work (reply 3 months after I wrote to them) and they are being awkward about my working hours. It made me cry. In no hurry to reply to them though.

Been swimming and we let LO's go underwater today which was great!

Wilkie I'm jealous of your scones and clotted cream.

I should really be making tea

Wilkie · 07/06/2007 17:32

Vino - That's crap about your work - sent you a scone and clotted cream xx

Jacob will only drink juice out of the side of a cup - not a spout. He drinks loads this way but bit of a pain cos it tends to go everywhere. Any suggestions???

ellieandhattie · 07/06/2007 17:38

Just a quick one will post properly later, but please make sure all plates/cups washed up and put away and if you are leaving the sofa replump and tidy the cushionds please and wilkie you will not find dust on any skirting boards!!!!

Oh and noone walk in the dining room/kitchen just antibac/scrubbed the whole floor as ellie been running around with wellies on after she has trod in dog poo (hence short post!!)

vinorouge · 07/06/2007 17:40

Nom nom thanks wilkie

have you tried a doidy cup? its slanted - I bought mine from nct website when I was having problems BF. Ellen used to have a few sips from it but not used it since.

smallone · 07/06/2007 19:33

Ahh! > This is nice, love what you've done with the place.

I'm free! Hurrah! dd grumpy today, dh has just taken her for a walk around the block. I really should be getting on with my friends wedding stationary but MN and a muffin sounded much more appealing!

ellieandhattie · 07/06/2007 19:36

PMSL at thread title I am the queen of cleaning/organisation on this Jan thread (having just rewashed mall my floors in case I missed any dog poo!!) Well we've had a good couple of days dentist went fine and ellie even let him look at her teeth, although only the front ones she wouldnt open wide enough to look at the back but it was better than last time when she refused to open her mouth. We had school again today and significant improvement because she actually stayed the whole session fw tears when we (my dad came along) dropped her off and I came home expecting phone to ring and it didnt, it felt very strange to turn up at 11.55 with all the otehr mums and when I went in to get her she was sitting on her chair with no tears (although cried when she realsied grandad wasnt with me ) teachers said she had a bit of a wobble mid morning but I had put her sticker book in her bag (her favourite thing) so at story time she sat on the mat with the other kids but did her sticker book so yippeee i have 2.5 hours twice a week for me and hattie.

wilkie Hows the child minding/returnin to work thing going you are not being ureasonable if you agreed ages ago the plan she shouldnt chane them now

Nemo - at winning a years supply of cleaning products I specifically entered just for them

LAL - How have a and l been today, it truly sounds as if a and e are long lost twins they sound so similar (and love the fact that you are up at the same ungodly hour as me most mornings!) and love the new pic very cute

Dragonhart - hope all going well with IL's and Luke still doing well with his potty training and pmsl at your cleaning not up to my standard (I have a real reputation to live up to if anyone ever visits )

Trixy - Sounds like a nightmare day yesteray hope it was better today

Kat - will update you on boot fair profit and think someone else had the right idea about not doig it with that mum next year

PCF - Glad you got Drs appt ad at alex's dvd as I have been there and done that (having just coughed up for preschool pictures today but they are lovely natural shots)

UD - Have you recovered from your bad nights, it does seem as if they are all waking up a bit more and pooing alot more (Hattie has had 2 today!)

Smallone - second what wilkie said re raising the cot helped ellie loads when she was a baby and hope you have a better night

Hattie2 - Dont think there is a 'maximum' formula hattie has around 30oz a day plus breakfast and dinner

Shimmer - sounds as if you had a lovely birthday and look forward to seeing pics of brotes roof terrace when you've done it

MrsCarrott - I could do a london meet up am only 40mins away on the train

Rgee - glad you like your fire truck Hatties princess one is hidden away and I still ended up ordering more online after I had been to the shop it arrived today and I was thinking of you whilst watching apprentcie last night (had a whole night of no computer on )

smallone · 07/06/2007 19:41

vino - much sympathy about work prob. I'm in denial about going back. I ran into work the other day to say that I was taking my additional leave (unpaid! yikes!). Its probably not the most sensible thing to do but I just cant think about it.

If only I didn't have a mortgage.....

vinorouge · 07/06/2007 19:53

Smallone - thanks for the sympathies. DH's work are so good at being flexible so we are lucky there. Going to forget about it for a couple of weeks anyway, well try to.

MrsCarrot/EAH/Anyone else - I'd come to London if there was a meet up there.

EAH - thats great news about Ellie's successful pre-school session. It must feel like she's a big girl now??

ellieandhattie · 07/06/2007 19:57

vin sorry forgot to say about work my work were a real pita when i went from full to part time eventually adter 4 months i got a new boss who gave me the hours i originally wanted (and that my old boss said were impossible ) and yes i thought my heart was going to burst with pride today (although she was an over tired tantrumming toddler by 3.30pm and in bed by 6pm)

Wilkie · 07/06/2007 20:03

Sorry, totally off topic but check out this site for some amazing gifts/stocking fillers/party bag bits - me and DH are like kids in a toy shop ordering shit loads

here

RGee · 07/06/2007 21:29

Great title as ever 2Happy! Can't believe I'm so late posting on it! Have I missed the cake?

Hi Canmummy - how were the hols? Hope you all had a fab time.

Vino - nooooooooo! I'm for you. After all this time they write back with a shitey response? Might be time to start checking your legal rights.

Wilkie - IMHO I would persevere with the cup and live with the wet clothes / wet bibs. From what I understand with my vast child rearing knowledge it can be difficult to persuade lo's to drink from a cup, so obviously J is well ahead! Thanks for the link btw, I'm off shopping!!!

EAH - just arrived at your post (doing Jodie's notebook whilst reading). It's v.v.v.loooong - am impressed! Better put the kettle on......Where is Nemo btw. I too so wanted to win the flash (although would have been v happy with pampering!). Talking of which I booked a v posh pampering session for mid-July. DH bought me a fabbie day spa thingy voucher including 105 mins of treatments last Xmas. Then I won a competition in the local freebie paper which gave me £50 to spend there too (I donated that to my friend so she is coming with me on the day). Roll on mid-July!

Small - hope you enjoyed your free time. Can't beat a cuppa and MN I say. Oh, and a BIG bar of galaxy to share round ('specially for cheering up Vino).

First time in absolutely ages (3 months?) it took lo a while to settle at bedtime. DH accidently knocked her head on the changing unit when about to read a story (I wasn't there but am told it was a mere tap) but she screamed and screamed, poor poppit. Manage to calm her down but the pathetic little sobs were so heart wrenching. Kept nervously watching the monitor once she'd settled. Bad daddy!
Right, better check out those stocking filler bargains.

Eddas · 07/06/2007 21:38

Dh, I've emailed you about the dress

Love the title by the way!! Having been to EAH's many times I can say it's very clean/tidy and well organised, unlike my place

Shimmer · 07/06/2007 21:58

Wow that site is ace Wilkie. They have loads of stuff i think Freddie would like.... i was really sposed to get an early night as i've been knackered today, but i see an evening of interneting ahead of me...
They have that doidy cup that vino mentioned too. I'm still working on getting F to drink out of a cup (with a spout). He likes playing with the cup and has just about the hang of holding on to the handles and getting it to his mouth but always looks very surprised (and not a little bit disgusted!) when water comes out. I've been giving to him just before bath time everyday as he always ends up soaking after he's been playing with it!

Well done Ellie for opening wide(ish) for the dentist and staying the whole morning at school!

I did think of you today Eah when I got round to cleaning under the sofas after really quite a long time of just sweeping/hoovering around them! We have wooden floors in the living room and even I (who possibly doesn?t have the highest standards of cleanliness) was quite shocked at the amount of dust, fluff, hair & general dirt under there! I think you probably would have had actually passed out if you'd seen it. Does make it extra satisfying cleaning it all up though!!

Sorry work are being so shit Vino Hope you manage to get it sorted out. I'm another one who's kind of in denial about going back smallone. Think I'll be taking the extra 6 months unpaid too. I keep going round in circles though thinking in some ways i wouldn't mind going back a couple of days a week, just for the social side really, cos i love the people at my old job. Thing is, i know they wouldn't give me my old job part-time, so i'd be doing something different... Also all our family live far far away so we've noone around to help out looking after F, so he'd have to go to a nursery/childminder. Ahhhhhhhh I get stressed out just thinking about it!

Have you told your MIL you're looking for childminders Wilkie? Do you think she'll take it okay?

I am definitely in favour of a meet-up in London!!!! That would be fab. I was about to say we could all hang out on my (brothers) newly designed roof terrace, but praps in January it might not be quite as gorgeous as it is now... Still, any of you are welcome whenever you want to come!

Wilkie · 07/06/2007 22:26

Came across that site whilst looking for the Doidy cup (have ordered one along with some door letters for J's room). Is it really awful that I am desperate for him to be old enough for me to do a cool christmas stocking for him???

Am getting very excited about the christening now. Have decided to do a 'typical english afternoon tea' for the after christening party. We're going to have scones, clotted cream and jam, sandwiches, tea and coffee. What else do you have for a typical english afternoon tea?!?!?!?!?!

trixymalixy · 08/06/2007 00:14

Am I too late for cake?

had a busy day today, was at baby massage in the morning, a parent's group in the afternon and DS had his jags after that.

Wilkie - i was excited about Xmas stockings before DS was even born!!

Lal - It is me that's from Glasgow so maybe we could meet up when you're up.

Hi to everyone else, and goodbye as I'm off to bed now!

laughalot · 08/06/2007 09:07

Morning all well had a expensive night thanks to wilkie it would have been so rude not to have bought something off the site so I ended up with the letters for Aidan and Laurens room and loads of bits for Aidans birthday party and some cool stocking fillers thanks wilks.

Trix it would be good to meetup ill let you know as and when.

Rgee all is forgiven my princess ride on arrived yesterday one problem I cant fit my wide ass into it .

Eah I am so pleased that Ellie was a good girl at nursery I bet you felt loads better too. Fancy getting a thread in your honour.

Vino that is a shame about the work situation sometimes when you look into these things you have more rights than what you might think.

2happy love the new title you get a gold star

Sorry about those iv missed. We have a birthday party at 5 oclock so it will either be good or not so clever especially if Aidan is tired he can then be a nightmare I shall let you know.

ellieandhattie · 08/06/2007 10:06

Morning well Iam not living up to the thread title today as Ellie has decided its a 'I am having all my toys out at once' day so living room is currently a nursery with baby bath/pushchair/highchair/bed etc plus all dolly accessories and clothes and playroom is a cafe with her dinner set and kitchen out (although she only serves tea and bacon sandwiches and everythng is 50p!!)

Hattie is desperate to sit up but gets all annoyed when she topples over so has been surrounded by cushions all morning and now fallen asleep on them

Boring day here as its been raining and dh taken the car to work so we'll be staying in, if it brightens up we'll have a walk to shop to get paper and come home via the park.

Thanks for the link wilkie have saved in my favourites ready for sept when I'll need to do party bags, we've alrady got those letters for their doors and they are lovely
