Thanks mich I am such a selling virgin its you and wilks that has made me think about this

Oooh wilkie what is the spa day all about then sounds fab.

theUrbanDryad · 11/06/2007 18:12

Wilkie - not sad at all that you wanted to ask her for a coffee. go for it next time. or, say something like, "It's been really nice chatting with you, can i give you my phone number?" or is that a bit like the ugliest man chatting you up at the bar??

swimming - we've taken Zac almost every weekend since he was about 12 weeks old. he's got a little boat and he really loves it! the important thing is not to dunk them straight under, cause the water goes up their noses, but to "swim" them under, if that makes sense. it's fun to go with your dp cause you can "swim" lo between you. i always have to let Zac go, because if i'm the one catching him i always catch him too quick!!

new piccies on my profile, say nice things!!

Wilkie · 11/06/2007 19:23

Nice things

Wilkie · 11/06/2007 19:25

UD - seriously - you have confirmed my suspicions, you really are a tree hugger Am trying to MSN you but you are bloody ignoring me again

Had a lovely afternoon, little man is now in bed, DH out until about 10pm, I am gonna have a bath (trim the outback that is my pubes in readiness for tomorrow) and go to bed.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

2Happy · 11/06/2007 19:28

Trixy - I remember bfeeding being real pain this time with ds1, he would get so distracted and turn to look at things (with my boob still in his mouth!!). Obv the decision is yours, and the phase did seem to last quite a long time, but he did grow out of it in time.

Jodie - so glad the op went ok, but soooooooo unfair it has coincided with illness - how are you coping?!

PCF - I hope the appt coems soon, what a pain driving round like that!

Wilkie - ooh health spa, sounds lurvely!

UD - great pics, love the smiley one especially!

Thanks for all your birthday wishes x. Had a fab day - was forecast to be cloudy so we'd binned the idea of a BBQ but then the sun came out so rushed out to buy sausages, rolls etc! ds1 had a great time, though he refused to have a nap in the afternoon waay too excited, lol! I can't believe my baby is 2!! Absolutely knackered now though esp since ds2 has suddenly decided that spending half the night awake is a good idea .

theUrbanDryad · 11/06/2007 19:31

Wilkie - you MSN'd me just as i was going upstairs to settle Zac.....i do love you, really!

JodieG1 · 11/06/2007 20:11

2happy - not too bad thanks, they seem better tonight. Trying to get Ethan off to sleep now a bf, hoping for earlier than last night's 11pm

Wilkie - can still never see you online on my msn and I tried re-adding you Want to try adding me? [email protected]

Wilkie · 11/06/2007 20:20

Jodie - already have you added but will remove you and add again.

Hmmmmmm, have a dilemma. Have found a FAB childminder, really really lovely but need to talk to MIL. Don't want to upset her but really don't want her to stop overnight twice a week here in our 2-bed house (she would be on a blow up bed on the lounge floor but the stairs come down the side of the lounge so if I got up in the night I would disturb her.

Arghhhhh. The best solution would be if MIL had a car, could travel here in a morning and back in an evening. We could give her petrol. Why is nothing simple????

ellieandhattie · 11/06/2007 20:29

Right bit of a dilema next door neighbours (good friends) went on holiday on saturday and the house was left in a bit of a muddle (they were still packing half hour before leaving) she left a load of wet wasing in machine and damp washing in tumble drier and huge pile of ironing in her room, I have taken all the wet/damp washing rewashed it, dried and ironed it plus bought her ironing pile here to finish that off for her. Also done the all the
washing up that was left and cleaned the kitchen, now I am panicking she wouldnt want me to have done it. If it was me I'd be eternally grateful as hate cming home from holiday and you have loads to do now DH said maybe she wouldnt want me to do it aaaargh I cant reverse it now (in case you wondered why I was in there I have been going in twice a day to feed cat and draw/pull curtains)

Wilkie - mmm tis a hard one is there no way mil could have a car those days?

UD - nice pics suiting your 'name'

2 happy glad ds1 birthday went well

jodie good to hear dd recovering hope you have a more peaceful night

JodieG1 · 11/06/2007 20:52

Wilkie - Can she get a car? Or could you help with that? Probably cheaper in the long run.

EAH - I'd love that! I'm sure she'll be really grateful when she gets home. You're nice to do that for her I hate ironing lol.

vinorouge · 11/06/2007 22:19

Shimmer - I've been doing a swimming course since Ellen was about 9 weeks old and she was dunked on the second lesson. She loves it ! Last week I had to let go of her underwater for the first time and she was fine. Our couse is with a local company called swimbabes. And if it makes you feel better, Ellen rolled off our bed and fell on the woden floor on Saturday morning!!! I heard a thud, silence, then waaa waaaa for a few minutes.

Wilkie - I would give my phone no to a mum I met in the supermarket/aprk etc. You can never know too many people locally!!! However the last time I did it was with someone I met at baby clinic and she never wanted to meet up so I ended up feeling like I was stalking her. I've given up on her now.

EAH - I would love it if I came back from hols and the cleaning fairy had been at work. YOu star!!!

My interrnet has been down since Thurs night if nayone has wondered were I've been......

Busy weekend working in the garden - finally finished painting the fence, went to visit my younger brother who lives near Peterborough and had gorgeous sunday dinner at friends last night.
Made my first lot of purees on Fri and Ellen is happily ploughing through them. We've tried apple, pear, carrot, parsnip and a sweet pot/carrot/parsnip mix. Purchased annabel k's complete meal planner book today. My cheapo ice-cube trays turned out to be very cheap cos I broke 3 getting the bl**dy cubes out.

Mum has been here today so we had a trip to Ikea. I looked at the 11.99 high chair and a nice wooden one there but not really looked anywhere else yet.

Sooooo who has an idea of where we could meet up in London????

theUrbanDryad · 11/06/2007 22:21

how about Parliament Square??

vinorouge · 11/06/2007 22:28

HOw could I forget that one?????? SORRY UD

trixymalixy · 11/06/2007 22:40

So it's not just DS that's a pain to feed! Thanks everyone.

I think I just had expected that once the CO sorted out DS that we would go back to our nice long peaceful feeds.

EAH - i would be absolutely delighted to come back from holiday and find someone had done all my washing and cleaned!!

theUrbanDryad · 12/06/2007 08:11

first one on this morning!! GOOOOOOD MOOOOOOORRRRRRRRNING!!!!

only up once in the night. feels like we're back on track!

laughalot · 12/06/2007 08:28

Ud yay I bet you feel all refreshed cool pics by the way.

Eah thanks for all the info on selling stuff I created a paypal account yesterday . Hope e will be ok today at school I take Aidan on thursday im so nervous in case he is a sod I mean can they get excluded at 2 and a half . Just to get a idea of the prices I should be selling at I have got a grobag from mothercare cost me 20 quid brand new used it only a few times with Aidan so it is in good condition what sort of price should I be asking ?

Vino isnt it awful when they fall that happened to me with Aidan when he was little he rolled of the bed and whacked the radiator on the way down I remember sitting there and sobbing my socks off however with your second you realise more that accidents do happen so easily.

Wilks enjoy your day my lovlie what I would do at the moment for a spa day bliss.

Rgee how are you still riding round on your fire engine ?

Jodie how are the kids today any better.

Trix how was your night?

Hello to anyone who I have missed.

Quick question to the second timers can you remember from what age they can go in there baby walkers ?

RGee · 12/06/2007 08:51

Morning all! Long time no see (ohhh, all of two days). How is everybody?

2Happy - glad your ds had a lovely birthday yesterday. Ahh, you're little boy is growing up!

Trixy - lo is ff but she's fannying about no end with her bottles at the minute. Good job I have the patience of a saint. She is always more interested in what is going on behind her - watching a tree sway in the wind outside is a particular favourite.

Lal - hope your hangover has gone now! Was a glorious day oop in Yorkshire yesterday, so got out and about. Bit wet and miserable now though, but not bad enough for me to start cleaning (where's EAH when you need her ). I'm gathering together a pile of stuff to put on ebay soon, so let me know how your selling goes.

Jodie - really pleased all went well at the weekend, what a brave dd. Hope you all get rid of the bug soon.

EAH - fantastic amount to take at a boot sale! I honestly do think that your packaging made things more attractive to the buyers. What are you going to spend all the money on? If I tell you when I am going away, please will you come and tidy my house for when I get back. You are such a lovely neighbour!

Shimmer - summer is almost upon us, the weather will be fab (eternal optimist) and your diary will be full before you know it! I did 'pramacise' here in Leeds, which was quite funny, except by the time I'd walked to the park, I was too knackered to then do another hour of fast walking, so decided not to do it. Need to join an activity soon to get lo used to lots of company (and squealing babies!) before she starts nursery in August. Am tempted by Gymboree - anyone done that?

PCF - how annoying to get that far and be turned away. I would be v annoyed. How did the jabs go?

Wilkie - am thinking of you at the spa . What did you do there? Any nice treatments?

Vino - did you get to swim class ok last week or did you get caught up in the Bollywood festivities. Was going to go to the park on Sunday until DH reminded me it would be packed out as there was a Bollywood festival on there too - there would have been no way lo would have slept with so much going on around her!

No plans for today. Hope my highchair arrives soon - it was despatched last Thursday. Busier week ahead though. Getting lo weighed tomorrow, hope her weight gain is stabilising now (she is still climbing up those percentile charts - she goes up each visit to the clinic, from the second percentile in week 6 to the 75th at last weigh in). It's funny to think all those weeks ago I was worried she was too light. Now she is just chubby! Off to York on Thurs with a friend, and Fri have people over.

Have a good day!

Mrscarrot · 12/06/2007 09:29

I feel dreadful.

F screamed all night and he never cries in the night. I was pacing up and down with him and he was rigid, terrified looking, and of course crying so much rashes popped up everywhere so there I was like a zombie with a glass sticking it on him every few mins.

Found some calpol in the end, first time he's had it and he looked like all his xmas's had come at once. Then cried again and eventually fell asleep around 4am (he woke up at 12.30)

Maybe its teeth but there's no sign. Off to docs at eleven to check him over, but I have ds1 off school today now as he didn't sleep a wink either.

Glad you had a bettter night UD.

EandH- What a fantastic neighbour, would you please come and live next to me.

Rgee- you sound much too perky

Lol- think they can now but check with someone else

Wilkie- enjoy spa, I love them. Honeymoon one was bliss.

Run out of steam now, sorry, morning all

katwith3kittens · 12/06/2007 14:10

Poor you Mrs C, hope you've managed to have a catnap to catch up and LO is OK.

Had LO weighed yesterday and he is 18 9 lb. HV asked if she could take all the growth data from his chart to compile a report on BF babies weight gain to encourage other mums to keep on doing it. Took me 32 years before I got a scientific paper published and now he has managed to do it by 6 months !

I think my AF is thinking of putting in an appearance too which will mean that I'll probably be on when we go to Tuscany in a months time too

EaH, do you think your neighbour did that on purpose ? I can't stand coming back to a tip of a house either, but if I lived next door to you then I might consider giving you a spare key permenantly !!

2happy, Alnwick sounds as if it might be a good halfway meeting point, although its essential to bring spare clothes and a towel for DS1, he WILL get very wet ! My elder two finish school in 4 weeks (Oh no !) so there are loads of recitals, sports days etc going on but hopefully we can come up with a mutually convenient day before too long.

Big Hi to everyone else

smallone · 12/06/2007 18:24

Eah - I would HATE it if someone else cleaned my house but then I am a bit of a clean freak too so would never leave it in that state in the first place - especially if I knew someone else was going to see it so I'm guessing that your friend will be thrilled!

My DH always laughs at the amount of cleaning I do before I go on holiday - he reckons I'm "cleaning up for the burglars"!

smallone · 12/06/2007 18:26

lal -I think they can go in door bouncers when they have head control
Mrs C - Every sympathy had a crying night the other week it really wipes you out. Hope everything was ok at the docs

Wilkie · 12/06/2007 19:13

Hi All. God I feel zombie-fied. FAB day. Had a deep tissue back massage, slept in the slumber room for an hour and half and did the detox treatment going round the different herbal/sauna/steam rooms.

Needed it after our night. Mrs C - think our LOs were in cahoots. It was prob the worst night I have had since the first night in hospital. He just didn't sleep practically all night. I must have been up 18-20 times. Gave up in the end and came downstairs with him at 5am to snuggle him to sleep which he did until 6.15am. His cheeks were red hot to touch but took his temp and it was normal (36.8) so not sure what it was all about. Gave him some Calpol which did nothing. Nightmare!!!!!!!!!

Can't be arsed to type as my fingers have relaxed too much and are tired

Catch you all later xxxxxxxxxxx

ellieandhattie · 12/06/2007 19:18

smallone - you sound like me I clean everywhere before we go on holiday havent cleaned the house as such, just washedup the breakfast stuff and wiped kitchen over and put ellie and hattie were on on the sofa whilst I fed the cat so tidied , but did sort all the wet/damp washing that was left and rewashed, dried and ironed it plus the ironing pile that was left so hoping she wont mind that

Yey hey sold another £29 worth of stuff on mumsnet (maternity wear!!) having to wrap and parcel it as I sell it and we need to walk to Post Office tomorrow to post lots of parcels!

Ellie managed another whole morning at preschool so looks like we've cracked it, it was lovely Hattie and I went into town and got fathers day presents and did a bit of shopping and then popped into my work to warm Hatties bottle and feed her and had a lovely chat with everyone, they have lots of things for me to sort/file for when I go back

Cant remember who else has posted today but hello to everyone!

smallone · 12/06/2007 19:59

wilkie! Haven't had a day like that since I went to the Aquasana at Centre Parcs about 2 years ago - pure bliss!

I think all the babies are having mad nights around now. I think it might be something to do with jabs or maybe teething. DD's night from hell was about a week after her 3rd jab.

RGee · 12/06/2007 20:30

Evening all. I have an attention span of a gnat at the moment so please keep me entertained. DH out at running club so I've no-one to pester "entertain me" "look at meeee" etc (RGee regresses to 5 year old).

Carrot - you poor love. Hope your day was better than your night. Is F ok?

Small - where do you live? EaH is too far away to clean my house so maybe you are closer?

Wilkie - Mmmmmm...deep tissue back massage...sounds great! Am off to this place next month Waterfall Spa - Xmas pressie from DH. Can't wait. They just sent me a list of treatments and I have to choose 105 minutes worth from the list. Sounds like J may be teething??

EAH - glad E has settled in now. Must be nice to have some time with H. Still want to know what you are going to buy with all your takings!
