LOL!!

claricebean · 19/05/2007 09:14

Oooohhh, a new thread. How exciting. Have had a busy few days so haven't caught up on all the news, but read the last few posts.

KHIN - cyber hugs to you. Sounds like you need to use your last ounce of energy to tell you family what they need to do to help you, and then take yourself off to bed.

CD - glad I'm not the only mad one. I can definitely recommend 4 (so far - ). Such a lovely number

Well we are doing really well. Bf is great and Ruby has settled herself into a routine of going to sleep at half midnight and then sleeping through until 8am . She's being doing that for about a week, sleeping later and later (started at 6am then increased by 30 mins or so a day). I would rather she lengthened it by going down earlier, but can't complain. She does sleep A LOT though. Apart from feeding I would say she's only awake for two hours a day, three at a push. Is that normal? You'd think I'd know, her being my fourth, but I can't remember. It seems like a lot to me. Not that I mind.

She has baby acne too; I saw some other posts about that. I'm just cleaning it with water and cotton wool. It seems to be passing though.

Enjoy your weekends, girls. It's in the high thirties here now . We're off to the equivalent of a BBQ later (big paella cooked outside - yum).

Sexonknackeredlegs · 19/05/2007 10:05

Morning loves.

Ange, please try not to worry, although I know it is hard. Will be thinking of you.

EM, hope S is ok now. Did have a giggle at the image of you and your dh trying to get a wee sample from her. Madness!

Octo, 18 choccie bars!!!??? RESPECT!

KHIN, so sorry you are having such a rough time. Just wish I could do something to help. I really think you need to talk to your dh, as they can be so naive at times, and he may not "get it". Huge hugs to you.

Big Spanish wave to CB!

Forgotten everything else!

Had a great evening yesterday. Picked up B from preschool, and then we went to the pub with some friends and then to a friends for pizza. Came home and I gave K her bottle at 9.00 and she fell asleep with no problems! Probably as she had been awake since 6.30!

She then didn't wake until 6.15!!!!!

Need to go as have to wash off the dreaded head lice solution from B's hair. So embarassed as took her to the hairdressers this am and they refused to cut it as she had the beasties back.!!

runnyhabbit · 19/05/2007 10:09

Morning all

CDSB - lol at thinking about no 4 . Put my maternity clothes away last week, and dh asked me why I wasn't getting rid of them, with a huge smile on his face I tried very casually to say "just in case" but I can't believe I'm even considering no 3!

KHIN - I don't really know what to say, except I agree with whoever said men have to have things explained to them on a very basic level. And we're all here for you x

Going to order some MilkMaid tea today. Although I managed to express a whole 4 oz yesterday This will be the tens machine episode all over again.......once I've ordered and paid for it, my milk will increase

Have a good weekend

x

runnyhabbit · 19/05/2007 10:12

btw - I'm not bleeding as such, but - tmi warning - am still having a browny coloured discharge. Not very heavy (pantyliner job) but still a pita as ds2 is now 5 1/2 wks old.

runnyhabbit · 19/05/2007 10:26

Second opinions please!

What do you think of this dress for a wedding? olive dress

would also need suggestions on colours for accessories.

Thought it was quite a good price too.

runnyhabbit · 19/05/2007 10:30

was it something I said

going to have my hair cut now

and what is a plate garden ellie?

Kneehighinnappies · 19/05/2007 10:36

Isn't it amazing how much clearer things seem in the clear light of day.

I am still completly knackered but did get dh to take the dt's downstairs to sleep afteer their 5am feed so I got to sleep from 6 till 9am

I am going to demand that he takes the 3 dc's out for an hour or so today so I can grab a bath and tidy myself up a bit, maybe even have a nap if I have time.

Don't really know what to do about dd1 sudden inability to sleep, I don't think we can take much more of it, I have suggested to dh that we buy her a new bed, which may help her to settle and also we need her cot bed for the dt's.

Other than that I supposee we will just have to muddle through, not sure what else we can do.

Katy44 · 19/05/2007 11:00

KHIN and AngeG, just wanted to say I'm thinking about you.
KHIN I don't know how you manage (sure that's a comfort!!), please just try to do anything you can and accept any help you can to get through this tough time.
AngeG, I really hope this is one of those things they pick up on, you worry like mad about it, and then it comes to nothing! It's easier said than done, but please try not to worry.
Hope everyone else is OK, sorry I haven't really had time to catch up.
We are all doing fine, when T is peaceful he is an angel! Am getting quite worried about the dummy thing though, I'm tryng to be so careful to avoid stuffing a dummy in his mouth as soon as he makes a sound but when we're both stressed and tired it's so tempting. I don't mind when he's been fed and genuinely wants to comfort suck, but I think it will be a hard habit to break (for us more than him!)
I expressed 3 and a half oz yesterday, DH had a good long feed with him, he had the biggest smile on his face it was so lovely! Also, I went off for a few minutes and relaxed safe in the knowledge I wouldn't be called on for a feed with 2 seconds notice!
CD - so, number 4!! I have to say the thought of no 2 has crossed my mind, but then T starts screaming and I decide one is more than enough for the moment!

Katy44 · 19/05/2007 11:04

I meant to ask KHIN, who are you getting compared to exactly?

Sexonknackeredlegs · 19/05/2007 11:14

Runny, that dress is lovely.

KHIN, really glad you sound brighter today.

Katy, good to see you, and glad the expressing is going well.

Dh has taken B to investigate a fairground that is on in town, so am here with K who is in her chair happily but about to kick off!

Better head.

Have a lovely day everyone.

xx

LesleyR · 19/05/2007 17:37

fab dress runny. glam nursing wear is a rarity. Think you should go bronzey/brown for shoes what about any of these?

Glad you're feeling better KHIN. I think you're a wonder coping with 3. 1 screaming child stresses me! Echo what others said about DH and men in general needing everything spelled out.

George is finally asleep. After a great night he's been a grumpy little goblin today. Now cup final is over might drag him and DH out for a walk.

Hope all are having nice weekends.

AngeG · 19/05/2007 18:35

Hi there,

Wow it's quiet on here today...must be the cup final

Thanks Katy & SOKL, I know you're right. She has been smiling loads today, so maybe she's just a little behind...fingers crossed.

CB Hello wow what good nights you're having although Izzy is going from between 9/10pm to 3-5am...not too bad.

SOKL-glad you had a good evening.

Runny - dress looks lovely and a great price. I have a wedding on 2 june, but have opted for a trouser suit, don't really do dresses!

Found a lovely suit for Jake to wear in Woolworths it was only £30 and i paid more than that for one for him to wear when he was a baby!

Glad you're feeling a bit brighter khin. Well done for making dh takes dts downstairs so you could get some well earned sleep.

Well done on the expressing Katy

Hi lesley

LesleyR · 19/05/2007 19:21

Hi Ange

George will be 6 weeks next Thursday. He smiles but not really on demand and i don't think he's following things with his eyes yet.

Hopefully it's nothing to worry about.

AngeG · 19/05/2007 19:32

Thanks Lesley...I am trying not to worry.

You guys are just great don't know what I'd do without you all. xxx

oooggs · 19/05/2007 20:01

Sorry haven't been able to find time to get on computer. Now typing one handing with Erin feeding with other.

Liath - pump posted 1st class today

KHIN - oh hun it isn't easy (& I do have the right to say that ) dt's are ok and are getting into a routine NOT!!!! ds1 is impossible - where has my delightful son gone? no problems with babies as he loves them, but is so disobient [sp?]. Last night we had a shouting match I said he was ahorrible naughty child and he said I was a nasty horrible mummy. Left him in his bed with doo shut and he was screaming help let me out. All for effect as he can open the door and walk out himself. Social services would have had a field day . All this time dts were screaming for food and dh was on lasts When dh got home I was ready to walk out and just disliking ds1. I a a horrible mummy .

Today all was well, and this evening, dh on lasts again, I was less stressed, dts were asleep when I put him to bed so much better.

KNIP - you are not being compared to me!!!! If ds1 was big enough he would ring childline. I can relate and when things get bad here I think of you, knowing I am not the only one who struggles with three.

Sorry to drain down, hope eveyone else is having a better/easier time .

oooggs · 19/05/2007 20:05

ange - hoper izzy does as she is told next time with her eyes

Down 'ere no dr check until 8 weeks then its 1st lot of jabs as well. On thursday at 2.20pm and dh is on days so will have to go on my own. Bloody shifts never on right one when I need him to be

AngeG · 19/05/2007 20:11

Thanks oooggs. Sorry you're having a hard time. I really do admire you twin mummies. I think you are both doing a fantastic job, I'm finding it hard enough with 2 never mind 2 babies plus 1. Hope the jabs go ok, I hate taking them for jabs. What a pain DH shifts can't be made around your engagements

eca · 19/05/2007 20:48

hi all

We had a nightmare night last night. T decided to go from 4hr stretches - that he's been doing for the last 3wks - to wanting feeding every 2 hours! We were us and down all night. Feel dreadful today and to make it worse FIL was over for the day and within 2 mins of seeing me he's telling me all about how tired HE is coz he woke up early!! SO INSENSITIVE! Made me really

KHIN - what a stressful time for you xx hope you did find chance to wallow in the bath or something today. AHHHH at dh, he really does sound like the classic 'me build house' bloke! Which definately has it's uses - my dh couldn't build a house out of lego but it's not great when a stressed out mummy/wife is more concerned about her sanity!!! I know what you mean about people coming to help. My older sis is exactly the same. Thinks she's really helping, but we breathe such a sigh of relief when she goes.

Got to go. T screaming.

eca · 19/05/2007 21:21

ok, he's fed and in his basket and quiet - for now anyway!! Have just been reading about mastitis and the antibiotics give him funny tum/poo runny and generally restless and grumpy. Poor thing, that explains last night then!

oooggs - (I never know how many o's and g's in your name, just checked ha!) Sorry you're having rough time too. You twin mummies are definatley the super-mums of the thread . Hope you had a better day too lovely xx

Runny - ooooooh love the dress!

Ange - hi there lady, nice to see you around

hi everyone else!!

Right off to watch recorded Desperate Housewives from wed (yey, can fast forward the dreadful adverts!) and then to bed. Night all xx

eca · 19/05/2007 21:22

lol - i'm chatting away to myself on here tonight! Hope you've not all gone and got a life on a saturday night!!

oooggs · 19/05/2007 21:30

no eca no life here - just children

ds1 asleep in bed, E asleep on sofa, J struggling to take feed due to colic and dh at work.

Just had some choc & a bottle of Bud

Katy44 · 19/05/2007 21:40

Hi everyone
Am still in my expressing obsession
Managed to knock more over but have a plan - express into a cup and keep pouring the contents into the bottle! That way I'll only ever lose a little bit
Anyone watching filthy houses from hell? I'm sure ours gets like that some time (not with all the neglected animals though )

oooggs · 19/05/2007 21:44

hi katy - nah, I'm half watching Casualty

glad expressing is going well - just got my boobs back to normal - new underwear calls (still would rather be bfing)

WestCountryLass · 19/05/2007 22:44

LOL at the thread title, we are thinking about number 4 too

We are looking into getting a new car and one of the things we are thinking about is how likely we are to have another and whether we need to get a huge best of a wagon or a standard MPV.

Runny, I think that dress is gorgeous!
