geordiemacminx · 21/05/2007 10:27

I know exactly what you mean.

geordiemacminx · 21/05/2007 10:28

I was absolutely mortified!!! There are some pretty random songs on there - even added salt and pepper push it last minute - just for a laugh!!!

Eddas · 21/05/2007 10:34

Ah, salt and pepper Reminds me of a very funny night out with a friend, she couldn't stop dancing, well grinding, to it and her boyfriend was not amused! Miserable bugger

Eddas · 21/05/2007 10:36

Oh and at the epiduaral, i tried to get one but ds was obviously in a hurry(after being 11 days late) and i didn't have time

Sexonknackeredlegs · 21/05/2007 10:52

Morning all. You lot can talk!

Octo, I am not bf'ing K, but thanks for the tip re cutting out various foods.
So sorry to hear about your friends lo drowning - how absolutely tragic

GMM, good to see you back. I was wondering where you had got to!

CD, really hope you enjoy your spending spree - you really deserve to.

Elkie, hope you and Danny are ok.

Forgotten everything else, but huge hugs to everyone with ailments etc.

We had an ok night with K, but B was awake coughing at 12.30 and then came in at 2.30 needing a wee. I was then listening out for K and got up at least 3 times to check on her but she was sound asleep. Didn't wake up until 5.30 for a bottle. Got back to bed at 6.15 and dh's alarm went off at 6.30!

Feel like a space cadet today!

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 21/05/2007 11:13

Morning again .... finally persuaded DH to get in shower - has been ambling round the house in his PJs saying it is his "Birthday preogative" ..... .... Not with three flippin' children under 3.5 it ain't!!!! Bless him - he got two cards in the post this morning ... bit miserable, bless him - Phoebe, Sophia & I got more post than he did!!

mammyjo · 21/05/2007 11:39

Ok, have been taking notes so get ready for mammoth post!

GMM, welcome back! Glad you and charlie are doing so well. Lol at ring of fire (very apt). My dh actually asked me if it was true about the ring of fire after I had given birth, um, yes it is!

Maveta, isnt it great to get a good nights sleep! Hope you get the thrush sorted.

Pesha, are you seeing any doctors or midwife about your continued bleeding. Poor you, hope you get things sorted soon.

Runny, hope you get a more relaxing day today. Glad you are back on good terms with dh.

SOKL, really feel for you with K screaming every evening as I went through the same thing with ds. Not much to suggest really but just wanted to say I understand what its like.

Octo, so awful about your friends LO. You just never assume it will happen to you, scary when its close to home like that. Totally understand what you mean about wanting your life back. I feel like all I am good for is looking after the children and tidying the house (occassionally)!

Ellie, lol at you going on the stag do. V actually!

Bramshott, thanks for the advice on the BF situation. I was just worried that it would stuff my supply up totally. Was very full both sides this morning so will give expressing a try if F carries on with her sleeping pattern.

CD, glad you are pleased with the vouchers. Have a fab time spending them!

Elkie, good luck, hoping everything goes well for you today.

Thats enough for now I think!

ellenkpa · 21/05/2007 11:50

runnyhabbit · 21/05/2007 12:33

Afternoon all

Dh is off today - hurray! Him and J have gone to have their haircut. J is v good at having a haircut, but won't sit still for long enough

Octo - So, so sorry to hear about your friends lo. I can't even begin to imagine what they (or you) are going through.

Gmm - good to "see" you

SOKL - J was ff, and was a v sicky baby, as well as crying like clockwork every night from 6pm to 9pm. The doctor told me it was his reflux, and gave me infant gaviscon to mix with his milk. (Although J was a few months old at this point) It cleared up within a few days, so I would def go to the docs.

Umm, can't remember much else

Bf question - do you find that one boob produces more milk than the other? I have got at least a cup difference between the 2. I've been expressing more from the smaller one, and offering it to W first in the hope it'll catch up, but not much is happening

ellenkpa · 21/05/2007 12:40

mine are uneven too Runny, and Liath was having the same trouble but don't know if she is now.

I regularly get twice as much from the right than i do from the left and Joe always needs boths sides if we start with left but only one if we start with right

he's 5 weeks and i've not managed to improve it!

OP posts:
runnyhabbit · 21/05/2007 12:52

Glad to know I'm not the only one this happens to.

mammyjo · 21/05/2007 13:06

uneven here too!

octo · 21/05/2007 13:23

no time to read all - lunch time - CD need to cancel the bumper order - they are rubbing th inside of his legs so have abandoned that plan for now! Thanks anyway

Sexonknackeredlegs · 21/05/2007 14:18

Thanks Runny. K isn't sick though, so the docs just said it is colic, but she is crying out as if in agony after some feeds - and not just evening/night time ones. She had a bottle at 11.30 a.m. and was crying in pain after.

The GP has told us to double up on infacol at each feed for 2 weeks and then try Colief for 2 weeks. If that makes no difference we are to go back.

Can't see us waiting that long tbh as it is just so upsetting.

What formula did you give J?

LesleyR · 21/05/2007 14:19

Just started a thread in BF topic. Here
Think that some of you have mentioned Lilypadz in past. Are they any good?

Got to go to baby clinic now. Will pop back later.

mammyjo · 21/05/2007 14:26

Can I just ask a quick question of the breast feeders please. I am going to try expressing but dont have a pump. Which ones do you use? Just wondered if some are better than others as this is not something I have done before and would be grateful for any advice, thanks ladies xxx

Bramshott · 21/05/2007 14:30

Hi girls.

Bit of a bollocks day today as Orla has another cold (her second ) and is very fretful and snotty - was also up quite a lot last night. She's currently asleep on my knee so she can stay there until I have to go and get Niamh at 3.00, and sod lunch (no way am I moving her!). And to top it all she has her injections tomorrow so that will probably make her even more fretful. Also tomorrow the health visitor is coming round to do the 8 week check-up which I think is all about how I am coping . Mind you, can't believe she is 8 weeks already and I guess we are 2/3rds through the worst bit . Don't have enough stuff on for DD1 this week or next - have decided the key to successful parenting of 2 is to keep the bigger one as busy as possible!

KHIN - have been thinking of you and your traumas. Hope you're having a good rest today. Is there any way you can get some more help, at least to tide you over the next few weeks? How about approaching your local college and see if you can get a childcare student? My friend had one, and I think they can just come round and help you in the house, but once she had been a few times and they were comfortable with her, they started using her for babysitting etc too. Maybe you could get someone to come round and play with DD1 so you can get some sleep? Where are you? Are any of us nearby so we could come over and take your DD1 out to the park for a couple of hours?

Dippy - happy shopping!!

Bramshott · 21/05/2007 14:33

Hi Mammyjo! I have a Medela Mini Electric one (bought second hand on here for £20) and am very happy with it. Last time I used an Avent Isis hand pump which was equally effective but made my hand ache!

After my last post, I knew there was something else pissing me off - I've got my period - grrr. Last time i didn't have one for 8 months so I was really surprised! Anyone else who's had one already - was it lighter than normal? Did you use tampons? Just wondering if I need to go out and get some supplies in!

runnyhabbit · 21/05/2007 14:49

SOKL - J was on SMA gold. Which was generally fine, but sometimes got a bit constipated if he didn't have some water as well. Bless him, he still gets constipated now if he hasn't drunk enough.

runnyhabbit · 21/05/2007 14:52

Lesley - I'm considering Lillypadz too, for the same reasons, and also because if I'm wearing a white top, I can still see the blooming pads!

Loving the though of not having to wear a bra at night...

YvieE · 21/05/2007 15:09

Hi all
KHIN and Ooggs - I know it doesn't help, but you are in my thoughts
Runny - Dress looks lovely
Maveta - is N sleeping in moses basket now, S always wakes up when i put her down in it
Ange and Ellie - I also got my Period and am BF'ing
Elkiedee - Praying that everything goes ok and no more overnight stays are needed.
Hi Zazas - can't believe that you never leak
Well Sarai's rashes\eczema got worse so took her to casualty on sat, dr took one look at her and said are using cotton wool to wipe her, to which i answered yes, so he recommended to stop using it as it has spread the irritation all around her body. He said if it didn't look better by monday to go to the GP, which i did this morning and they have referred her to a dermatalogist tomorrow. Met a woman in a&e whose DC suffered from eczema and she said this was cleared up when she took them to a homeopath - so may try this depending on the outcome of the visit to the dematologist

ellenkpa · 21/05/2007 15:18

mammyjo
i used a boots own one last time and hated it! this time I have the Tommee Tippee freedom which I'm finding really easy to use (and I got it in Tesco so clubcard points too!). I noticed last week that Boots have 20% off all Tommee Tippee at mo, including this pump

I also have an electric one from Bruin at Toysrus which was v cheap but seems to work well.

take a look at this thread for further opinions
