Ok. A virtual ice cream for whoever guesses who I am first!!!
It is soooo easy i know but you know what they say a change is as good as a rest! (Might get rid of those bags)

podglet · 24/05/2007 14:56

I know who you are - you're Lebe! Magnum for me please

Have just received first set of forms from the solicitor for the flat sale - gulp. They are v complicated - hence why I am ignoring them and on here instead! Think I;ll let DP fill those out, seeing as although I pay half the mortgage etc and am named on it, he forgot to put me on the deeds for the flat, so actuallly, it's not mine to sell!

Off to look at 3 houses on Saturday. One is near the beach on a little island nearby, sounds lovely.

AlfieJacksmummy · 24/05/2007 17:39

Darn! Shouldve made it a bit more difficult
Magnum on its way to you now Podglet - but fess up did you know straight away or did you have to check the list (no lying!!!)

podglet · 24/05/2007 20:16

Afraid I knew straight away, remembered your little one was Alfie (love the name, considered it for DS)

Thanks for the Magnum, mmmm dark choc, my favourite

KaybeeandZak · 24/05/2007 21:51

Sounds like heaps of us have babies with sleep issues, maybe it's just a phase!!
Zak didn't put up too much of a fight tonight for a change, though he did wake up screaming after an hour (but wasn't really awake ???)

We are going for our first night away on Sat night and the grandparents are coming to stay - hope Zak behaves himself for them!

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 24/05/2007 22:24

oo00oo do i have to go away? im going to miss my daily dose of mumsnet! (however meeting charlee will be sssssoooooooo lovely!)

AlfieJacksmummy · 24/05/2007 22:41

Has anyone worked ot who Chicken legs is yet or have I missed something

Glad you enjoyed your Magnum Podglet, was gonna ask you which flavour but then decided to give you the one lurking at the back of my freezer! Just cos im of your brain still woring!

Alfie is asleep too, not trying to rub salt in the wounds but he has always loved his bed and has slept through (apart from the tossing and turning) from about 4 months (sorry!) Although when he was little he hated his moses basket so he slept in his pram (I hasten to add it was a lie down one).

Bless him, he hasnt put on any weight in the last 2 weks cos of his stomach bug and has gone from 50th to 25th percentile. I know its not major but have always been glad he is a little fatty the hv didnt seem bothered though.

saralou · 25/05/2007 08:12

morning alll!!!!

hah, ryan went to bed and slept all night long.... from 7, till 5

podglet · 25/05/2007 14:33

Hurrah, a good night here too (sorry) DS also went 7 - 5!

Thanks for the ice cream AlfieJacksmummy (much longer than lebe!) got any more stashed away there?? It's sooo hot here, we're in a 2nd floor flat here and of course, heat rises so we're sweltering - not for much longer though - going to look at 4 houses tomorrow - am so excited!

If you want to be nosy, this is what we are selling

podglet · 25/05/2007 14:34

Meant to add - have a fab hol Stacey, enjoy the meet up with Charlee!

NatalieJane · 25/05/2007 14:35

Afternoooooooon

Decided to brave the dial up once again - I sodding hate it!!

Very of the night away, apart from when I was in hospital having George, I haven't had a night apart from DS1 (who is 5 years old) ever! And I can count on one hand how many times DH and I have been out to the pub or whatever on our own.

We were meant to be going down to my mums this weekend, but it has been cancelled, my nephew has a sickness bug, which wouldn't be a problem if his bloody mother (my sister) could cope with her sodding kids, she says she can't cope with people being sick - not even her own kids - so she has to take them round to my mums house so my mum can look after them, in other words sister can't be arsed. It makes me so angry. Her kids are absolute horrors, she leaves them with my mum every weekend, even though my mum, bless her, is getting on a bit (don't any of you ever tell her I said that) she can't cope with two VERY boistrous lads all weekend, and my sister is pregnant again with another poor little thing she will quite happily not see for days on end and then completely ignore when she has no other choice. GRRRRRRRR!!! DS1 is going to be heartbroken that we can't go, he is expecting to come home from school get in the car and go, he has saved all of his pennies (20p, 10p, 5p, 2p and 1p) and got 30 odd quid together which he wanted to go and spend 'in Nana's town' and now he can't because of my incredibly lazy, bone idle, cow bag, of a sister!!

Ahhhh I feel a bit better now Can you tell it pisses me off? LOL

saralou · 25/05/2007 15:05

oooh, podglet, i love your kitchen floor!

i'm feeling quite proud of myself... the boys are at nursery, so i've been busy! have just been and bought a new bookcase and filing cabinet/drawer thingy and curtain pole so i can turn the spare room into a spare room and stop using it as a dumping ground

now all i have to do is convince dp to build them tonight (i can already hear the excuses!!) and i can sort it out..... what an exciting friday night i have planned!!!

and i've done the ever so tedious task of putting all my photo's in albums!! hooray!

nat, sorry you can't go away! i can sympathise with the sister scenario! totally unecessary! i'm sure promising him a special treat will help!

right, off to spend more money i don't have

AlfieJacksmummy · 25/05/2007 18:14

Oh sorry podglet didnt think of the name being longer to type. Feel free to shorten.
Might have some old strawberry cornetos if your interested (my freezer is like Narnia!

NJ - im so for you. I know people who are quite happy to not see their kids for days on end and go off on jollies and stuff but I dont think I would enjoy being without my bubba (i know im neurotic) I can see him sleeping in my room till his 12 and living at home till hes 43!!!

Saralou - I see you are partaking in my favourite hobby (spending money we you havent got) Well done you for being so organised! Im so

podglet · 25/05/2007 20:07

Ah, don't be silly AlfieJacksmummy, though I do tend to shorten everybody's names, you may become AJsmummy if that's ok? Lucky you to have a freezer like Narnia, ours is a silly under counter one, doesn't fit more than a bag of frozen peas and some ice in

NJ, so sorry about your weekend away. Hope DS1 isn't too disappointed and you manage to have a nice long weekend at home.

Saralou - hurrah for spending non existant money you do sound very organised as well

AlfieJacksmummy · 25/05/2007 21:13

Thats fine Podglet, I get called all sorts even AJ would be fine. I used to have a freezer that was in the top the fridge, it was a nightmare it used to all be unfrozen or the milk in the fridge was frozen but our one now is full up of cubes of food for ds cos im so lazy!!!
Nj - just an idea. Dont know where abouts you live but supposed to be nice weather tom, could you take ds to the beach with an arcade to use his pennies in the slot machine? I used to love doing that - oh who am I kidding, I still do!!

Charleesunnysunsun · 26/05/2007 18:47

Hi ladies, i really need your positive thoughts this wweekend. We have had little Jack in hospital this morning again he has gone down hill. He's got Tonsilitus, Ear infection and a mild chest infection, the dr's have given him untill Tuesday with oral anti biotics to perk up or they want to take him in again for i.v's I really can't cope with 2 weeks isolatin again in hospital and i don't think he can either. Just as e get them both into a steady routine.

Please pray and send good thoughts that these anti b's can take hold so he can stay home!

podglet · 26/05/2007 19:50

Oh Charlee, you poor thing. Sending lots of get well vibes for Jack and a big hug for you too.

I think my left arm is missing. D (and I use the term loosley)P and I had a huge bust up this morning, which resulted in him hitting something other than the wall. He stormed out, saying he wanted us to leave whilst he was gone, and so I called my mum to come over and help me (was a bit hysterical) when she came over he called said he was coming back but in the meantime, I had agreed with Mum that she could have DS today and tonight, so that we could sort things out. I am hating every minute of it at the moment. If I had planned for him not to be here, I think I would have been ok but it was so horrid. We have sort of sorted things out but it is going to take time. It basically boils down to me taking away his "comfort zone" i.e the flat which he bought after his divorce and "making" him buy a house with me (even though I am currently on the mortgage for the flat). Men do not like change apparently. I miss DS so much

Sorry for harping on, esp with Charlee's DS1 being ill but I had to write it all down. I shan't mind if you all tell me to stop being a wet mess and give me a virtual slap.

Hope you are all having much better weekends than me

AlfieJacksmummy · 26/05/2007 20:57

Charlee - Im so sorry for you and your family having more troubles. Im keeping everything I can croosed for you that the antibiotics work and your lo gets totally better v.v.v. soon (hugs for you too).

Podglet - Your bloody dp! What is wrong with him!!!! Im very and by you saying he hit something else I hope you dont mean what I think you do!! He seems to need reminding that you have given him a beautiful son and he needs to grow up. He needs a family home not a batchlor pad! Ahh i dont blame you for missing ds, If I was you I would of told him to go for the day and had your ds there instead! (would another Magnum help?)

Hugs and sympathy for everyone who needs it!!

debbsyandsonn · 27/05/2007 09:57

back now will catch up on everyones news not been around as i have been flat on my back with sciatica.

debbsyandsonn · 27/05/2007 10:57

Charlee do hope ds1 is better very soon and doesnt have to go back into hospital (((((hugs)))) for you.
Podge ((((((((hugs))))))) your dp is being an ass he needs whipping into shape, threaten him with leaving, thats what ive done this week with dh went to see a solicitor about a divorce as i was that fed up,really shook him upi can tell you, mail if you want to chat xx
Saralou hope ds is sleeping well for you,and that your first day back to work isnt too traumatic.
Kaybee if you look on babycatalogue.com there is a sleep positioner on there that is good for keeping ds from rolling, ill try and link it later if i get chance.
Nat how are you
Stace did you have a nice day with Charlee
fb welcome back.
phew my news now ds slept from 8pm till 7.15am this morning with not a peep (very proud emoticon)

saralou · 27/05/2007 16:38

i'm at work and it sucks!!! (sneaky post while no-ones looking!

charlee, i really do hope jack's ok and avoids a hospital stay... thinking of ya... xx

podglet, i hope your dp realises what an idiot he has been... it's a shit situation to be in. when dp punched the wall last week, the fist was intended for me (arse) i think it shocked us both and i still don't feel rigt with him, like he broke a bit of my trust... but its getting better and he did that a week ago! not really much i can say, so have a hug((( )))

Charleesunnysunsun · 27/05/2007 19:17

Hi everyone.

Thanks for your thaoughts, jacks about the same today i have been doing his physio like a mad woman today and he is coughing up alot of the sputum (sorry tmi!) which is a good thing i pray to god he doesn't have to go back in again.
It's just so crap really, the key to managing cf is keeping him well and as long as we can do that he will have a longer life expectancy but we can't seem to manage that for more than a month at them moment!

Podglet - I hope you and your dp work things out, dp and i hav had to take a step right back and evaluate our relationship a couple of times. I know what you mean about missing the kids they drive me mad but if anyone has them for the night i miss them like crazy!

Also none of you feel bad for venting on here just because of me, everyone has there own problems that are sgnificant to themselves and i don't want any of you to feel your problems or worries are not as important because they are.

podglet · 27/05/2007 20:03

Hi guys

Thanks for all your lovely messages. Today has been lovely coz I have had DS back and we have taken him out swimming and then out for afternoon tea but awful because DP and I are still getting over yesterday. Saralou, you are v right, a little of my trust has gone and I am really struggling to put it behind us. I don't want him to touch me at the moment and today he said "well, at least you know when to step away when to stop pushing me now" totally blameless apparently.

Charlee, really hope Jack improves for you.

Saralou - how was your first day back?

Debbsy, thanks hun, I did threaten to go anyway yesterday, even after he said he didn't want me to. I am hoping it will have brought him up short too. Hope things are improving for you and your DH. Hugs back...

Men - can't live with 'em...

saralou · 28/05/2007 14:09

hi everyone!

so 1st day back was the most exhausting day of my life! i started at 7.30am and finished at 9.30pm... by the end of the day my feet and head hurt, i couldn't think straight and was on the verge of tears, but i survived! so much stuff has changed, but i think i managed to blag my way through...

funny thing though, talking to one of my patients who is a midwife, we recognised each other... turns out she did my sweep when ryan refused to come out of my tummy so were even now

podglet, you take your time.... he was the one in the wrong, arguments happen all the time, he's the only one responsible for his actions at that time (i had a similar 'discussion' with dp) men, you can't live with 'em and you can't kill 'em- it's illegal apparently!!!

debs... i really hope you and dh can sort things too... it's so tough with new baby's!

charlee, puke, sputum makes me heave (hence why i don't work in respiratory!) i really do hope you can avoid hospital! now this may be teaching granny to suck eggs, but do you have local support group for kiddies with cf or somewhere you can talk to other people who either have cf or children with cf? talking to somone else who's been where you are could really help, they may also be able to give you tips/ideas for keeping him well... also (and i know very little about cf) medication, is their a trial and error peroid, where their still getting the meds right? don't be too hard on yourself... i know we keep saying your doing a brill job, but you really are! chin up chick
