Sorry to totally change the subject - just need some help. Can someone tell me how to do a link on here to show people something if you know what i mean??
Thankyou x

podglet · 28/05/2007 16:41

Ajsmummy, have a look under the smileys on the right when you type a message and it tells you how to do it. They have just made it much easier to link stuff even I can do it now

Saralou - that's a long shift glad you got through it ok though.

AlfieJacksmummy · 28/05/2007 17:08

Thanks Podglet I saw that after I posted! I di (after the 2nd attempt)
But least I know now!

Charleesunnysunsun · 28/05/2007 18:38

Evening, Well the good news is Jack has hardly couged at al today so i can tel the dr's when they call tommorrow that the antibiotics seem to be working! yay!

Saralou - don't worry any advice anyone can give is great, unfortunatley i can't take jack anywhere where there are other cf children due to cross infection which makes meet up groups hard i do speak to one lady who lives close by whos daugter has cf but no meets up yet.
The antibiotics are sort of hit and miss and all levels can change from day to day like you say so it is hard but i have done loads of physio which seems to have cleared his chest a little which is great.

What do you work as, obviously some hospital related job!

I hope all your dp's have come to thier senses! Your all fab women and they are lucky to have you.

Im really looking forward to meeting Stacey on Wednessday i willl update you on howw it goes.

saralou · 28/05/2007 19:21

charlee, i'm a staff nurse on a gynae ward (theirs no sputum their... just fanjo's!)

i'm glad for you he's doing better today! how long has he been diagnosed now? it's a real steep learning curve your on... time will make this all so much easier, and like i said, people in the same situation can often be the best support.. they know what your going through!

podglet · 28/05/2007 20:16

Charlee - so pleased DS1 is on the mend.

We've had a nice day. If any of you have seen Wilkins Jam, the factory is not too far away so we went there and went round the museum and had morning tea in the tea shop then spent a fortune in the jam shop . DS had a small piece of tea cake with jam and loved it! Sounds v dull I know but it was nice to do something as a family

Charleesunnysunsun · 29/05/2007 09:35

Podglet sounds lovley!

saralou - He's been diagnosed since end of Feb so it's still relitivley new and your right it is such a learning curve. They told us at the hospital it ill take at least a year of stuidying Jack to know exactly how cf will effect him personaly.
It's just frustrating when no other Dr except his specialist has a clue about cf but they try and treat him anyway and they just don't listen to us as parents who know what we have been told and the specialist is very rarely available.

A Gyne ward hmmm what a lovley job you must have seen more fanjo's then most studly men!

The kids are driving me potty today, I wwas up at 5am with them because Jack woke up coughing. Jacks bouncing off the wals where he's so hyper and Harry just will not be put down he isnt usually this bad, but today he hates his walker, hates laying down and wont sit very well. He is having mojor tantrums whenever anyone eats or drinks even though he is having 3 huge meals a day plus bottles and boob! Little pig

Morning everyone

My gorgous, wonderfull, fantastic, and brilliant broadband is back on, I will never call broadband again! To think I use to moan about a page sometimes taking 10 seconds to load properly!!

Anyway, a lot has happened over the weekend, Charlee I am so glad Jack is on the mend, echoing Sara, you have been a fantastic support to him, and have been doing a wonderfull job, we are all behind you 100%, and here with an ear if/when you need it

Those with DP's playing up, I've no advice really, but wanted to let you know I am thinking about you all.

Finally managed to access our emails as well - thanks Mygirl for passing the message on I think it is going to take me about a week to sort through them all.

Sara back to work? Bummer. Though having said that, give it a week and you will be back in the swing of things again

It is half term, DS1 and I have a busy week planned, I absolutely have to take him into town today to spend his money obviously , then we will be back in town tomorrow to take George to get weighed at the clinic, and then Thursday we will be back in town again because it's payday and I have to pay the bills, and then Friday we will be getting ready for going to my mums (My nephews were there with my mum all weekend being sick everywhere, while their mother was "busy" out and about GGGRRRRRRRRRRRR Don't get me started again!!)

I am taking George to be weighed because we put him in his carseat yesterday and realised that his feet are hanging out the bottom of it and his head is squashed up in the head bit LOL I think we will be paying a visit to my sister (the one who works in "A Baby Boutique" - as she calls it!!) for a second stage car seat I am told the Maxi-cosi Toby one is the best, any advances on that?!

Right I am off into town, and to stop boring you all, why do I never manage just a quick hello?

mygirllollipop · 29/05/2007 11:22

NJ - take a look on the product reviews on here for car seat, we were thinking about it too. But we are goning to buy DD3 a new seat and give DD4, DD3's old one.
Charlee - glad he seems to be on the mend.
Podglet and Debbsy - get those men of yours sorted out, you don't want another baby on your hands in the form of a DH. I'm thinking the are just adjusting (not that they can be excused).

AlfieJacksmummy · 29/05/2007 11:23

Hi everyone.
Charlee - so glad your ds is feeling loads better you are truely an inspiration with all you do with him, i moan if Alfie wakes me up in the night!

Podglet - IKWYM my times out probably sound boring to other people but im glad for the change.

Well been s**t bh weekend. Had arguments with family, friends and dp. Had a scae with my step-dad, he isnt well and he wouldnt answer the phone (my mum was visiting my brother) and we all imagined him face down in the garden, turns out tho the phone was on silent, then I remembered Alfie had tried to eat it earlier so felt guilty thinking it was him caused all the worry but turned out he had unplugged it to plug something else in!!!
Alfie is teething and snotty (sorry tmi) so grumbling ALL the time.
Nothing of mine sold on ebay (v.v. gutted)and now have to go down the housing benefit office!!
Sorry for the moan but feel better now! x

saralou · 29/05/2007 18:22

aaah, a friend of mine had a baby girl today... 6lb of teeny tiny new born, i went to see her on my way home... so so so tiny, she's called olivia...

but i'm not broody... i'm not!!

work already feels like i've not been away 5 mins, let alone 8 months!!!

nat, we're doing the same as mygirl, upgrading ds1's seat to a booster type... we have a britax eclipse si for him and i'm very happy with it... britax in geneal has a good reputation i think!

i just got my tax credit thingy back for this year and i'm happy now! i get money towards childcare now, which is a weight off my mind! i can maybe spend actual money as opposed to the pretend stuff!

charlee, is it tomorrow your seeing stacey, have fun both of you

xx

debbsyandsonn · 29/05/2007 22:17

mygirllollipop · 30/05/2007 09:17

Friday is fine with me Debbsy, same place, lunch time? Would be great seeing you and DS!

NatalieJane · 30/05/2007 10:01

Morning just a quicky before I get in the shower (I am naked at the moment ) Sara know how you feel, my niece had a baby boy in April, 4lb something, gorgeous and broody beyond belief, but we have decided to concentrate on this move to Spain and not on a number 3, so I have to live with being broody

We are off to get DS1 eyes tested this afternoon and if the baby clinic is on get George weighed and find out exactly what I do when he hits 6 months and still isn't too bothered about proper food.

I can't believe he will be 6 months old in a weeks time It's not fair oh sod it sniffing doesn't describe it well enough

Have a good day everyone I am off for my shower, it is bloody freezing in here xxx

debbsyandsonn · 30/05/2007 10:04

mygirl yes thats brill ill mail you x looking forward to it too xx

podglet · 30/05/2007 10:13

Oh NJ, 6 months? DS will be 7 months on Friday that's not a that's a ! Where has the time gone? He is working on a 2nd tooth now. I went to my regular Tuesday baby club yesterday and me and my friend had the oldest babies there, we sat there all forlorn, surrounded by teeny tinys, with our 2 looking like great big lumps

Debbsy, things ok thanks hun, normal service is resuming Have rebooked loads more house viewings for this weekend. Pleased your DH is behaving himself too. You and mygril have fun on Friday

Stacey and Charlee, have a fab time today

Hi to everyone else.

Charleesunnysunsun · 30/05/2007 10:23

Bloody hell i just typed out a whole big long message and it got bloomin well deleted!

Anyhoo, morning everyone!

I am meeting Stacey today (yay!) should be fun but it seems silly i have been speaking to her online for yonkers and im still a little nervous!
The wether is terrible so i guess a day at the beach is out oh well! We shall find something fun to do no doubt!

DP has applied for a new job as he can't stand his boss and his job and it's making him misrable so do send out the good thoughts and lets hope he gets it!

Jack is coughing badly again this morning i am waiting on the results of the cough and sputum samples they took at the hospital on saturday to see if he's growing any infection, again more good thoughts for that ladies.
I have been doing physio like a beast this last few days, to an outsider it probably looks like im beatng the life out of him when i fling him about whilst smacking his back for all im worth!

Harry is great, he's eating like a little pig always wanting more solids! I have to pursuade him to take a bottler or boob because milk isn't exciting enough for him anymore.
He's gone into the next size up car seat as well so has Jack they were both squeezed into there old one so we thought it was time for a change, they both seem alot more comfortable now.

Oh yes i was going to say!

I brought a face mask at lush its a detox one and my skin is looking fabbo now and it's so natural! i urge you to visit a shp if you have near by or get something online, it is a tad expensive but so worth it!

OP posts:
saralou · 30/05/2007 10:54

morning!!

charlee, i'll send some good luck vibes to your dp for a new job! have fun today!

nat, we're having a bit of a baby boom at work at the moment.. 2 more due in june and now one in dec and one person ttc and then theirs grandbabies too... it's all babies babies babies! i too have to live with being broody as dp had the snip (he did his last test yesterday, fingers crossed it's clear!!)

debs, works ok... tbh i'm so busy at times i don't think about the boys! it does suck being back though... i'm tired and have a sore throat after 2 shifts! bloody hospital germs!!! and ryan doesn't realise that now i'm working he should perhaps sleep through to help me out a little!!

hi to everyone else!!!

NatalieJane · 30/05/2007 11:40

Right now I am dressed, much warmer

Baby clinic isn't on which means DH is going to have to take next Wednesday afternoon off, and if I'd have known it wasn't going to be on, I wouldn't have booked DS1 to have his eye test in town, we have to go in to town tomorrow anyway so it would have been easier to have them tested tomorrow. GRRRRRRRR.

And I am pissed off because DH rang me this morning to tell me he and his engineer have swopped the on call rota around to suit the engineer who had something planned, so DH will be on call a weekend later than usual, wouldn't normally be a problem but the weekned he is now on call is the weekend of my birthday, not that it seems to have entered his head that it's my birthday. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR AGAIN.

George has just had his first sort of tumble, poor DS1 cried his heart out for him while George merrily giggled and patted DS1 round the head, do I feel like a bad mum? No, not really, we have got to nearly 6 months without an accident, that is 5 months more than DS1 got

Oh well, I suppose I should try and get this eye test changed to tomorrow, save us the hassle of town again.

Catch you all later no doubt xxx

Charleesunnysunsun · 30/05/2007 13:34

Grrrr why is it that when Dr's say,

'if you have any worries about Jack just give us a call and we wil get right back to you'

SO i ring to find out about his cough swab results.........

And im still waiting 2 1/2 hrs later to hear from them.

OP posts:
AlfieJacksmummy · 30/05/2007 18:18

Podglet - Ds is 7 months next week too so am feeling a bit too. Also seems to be a baby boom round here, my sil is due middle of July (day before my bday), my cousin is due end of Nov, dp cousin had one 2 months ago and it does make me broody but only till I think about giving birth then it changes to pity!
Charlee - Lots of positive thoughts coming your way for DP and lo. and for you.
NJ - Glad your dressed now didnt think it was common place to type in the nude! (dont think I will be trying it!)
Well, been a mixed day, ds is finally in 6-9 month clothes (only a month late) so had an excuse to buy him some things and his new spangly play pen turned up!!
On the downside I went to physio and got pulled around only to be told my back will never get better I will have to manage the pain with excercises, which Im supposed to do every hour (WTF!!!!) and I have to wait to see a consultant about my broke tailbone and they will inject into it with painkillers (lovely).
Sorry for the moan (again)

mygirllollipop · 30/05/2007 18:40

Debbsy - sounds great.
NJ - get you typing in nuddy! Grr for your DH/birthday.
AJMum - ouch!
Charlee - hope the meet-up went well and that the GP got back to you.

Unless we win the lottery big style we will not be having anymore. Even then I'm not sure we will. But......... it doesn't stop me being broody when I see a little baby compared to my heifer!

podglet · 30/05/2007 19:12

AJsmummy, sounds v painful, you poor thing. I have recently had both wrists injected with cortisone (sp?) due to a weird form of tendonitis and that was painful enough.

Am also v broody, even though, if you think about it, they are all still babies still terrible isn't it?!

Charlee, hope the dr has called and that you had a nice day with Stacey.

Charleesunnysunsun · 30/05/2007 20:43

Evening.

Well i we had a lovley time with Stacey and her family today. She is a really nice lady and her family are really kind and friendly and the kids are scrummy!

I got the cheque for the holiday so thanks to everyone who contributed i have posted a thread about it to say a big, huge thank-you.

I never did get a call from the hospital so i will ring AGAIN tommorrow!

DP has an interview for the new job tommorrow and the maager sounded really nice and positive so thats good!

Love and hugs to all xxxx
