NJ - you look like my cousin so I wasn't expecting that! I am just amazed everytime I see one of you lot, ignore me, I mean no harm!
DD4 has had a bit of a tantrum which is unusual and was kind of chewing, I finally found the cause - a piece of sellotape and now she's pleasant again .
AJM - try friends, family, neighbours fisrt. Hope you get your back fixed, I should really see the GP but I don't know why I don't want to.

AlfieJacksmummy · 12/06/2007 12:31

mygirl - i've tried them all, no one can have them!
I did put off seeing someone for a while but the pain got unbearable everytime I sat down so needed to get it sorted, bit scared now

NatalieJane · 12/06/2007 14:16

LOL Mygirl we had a party day for DS1 that weekend we didn't end up going down south to my mums to cheer him up a bit, we had party games, party hats and party food, dancing etc. popping party poppers and spraying silly string all over, in the afternoon George started chomping on something, he had managed to get hold of one of the paper strings from the party poppers and was merrily enjoying turning it into a soggy mush

mygirllollipop · 12/06/2007 14:49

Well DD4 was eating buttercups (interspaced witha few blades of grass) when we had a picnic outside a museum on Sunday so it seems to be a bit of a habbit.

Debz99 · 12/06/2007 16:26

Some advice ladies if you can .... my perfect little boy ... ahem... has decided he doesn't like his formula anymore its been a real struggle for the lsat few days getting him to drink anymore than about 4 fl oz a time, he is eating other food and will drink water/juice but just keeps pushing his bottle away after he has reach about 4 fl oz. Somewhere in my distant memory the HV said as long as he drink about a pint of formula a day that's fine ... which he probably is just about! any ideas?

NatalieJane · 12/06/2007 16:27

With the other food he probably just doesn't feel like 'eating' any more milk. Maybe cut down on the water, might leave a bit more room for the formula?

Debz99 · 12/06/2007 16:33

I don't think he is having much water/juice I sometimes worry he is not having enough !!!!

AlfieJacksmummy · 12/06/2007 19:19

I was told by my hv that ds should be having 18oz a day and I read that it should be 21 and my friend was told 20 so I dont think there is a right amount, but since ds has been on real soilds so to speak he only has 3 bottles a day with 5oz in them and rarely drinks them all but has water as well and is putting on weight well so I would say as long as he is putting on weight dont worry to much.

Well I went to the hospital and the consultant said the only thing he could do was to inject all around my tailbone with longlasting painkiller and anti-imflamotory (sp) so I said ok AND HE DONE IT RIGHT THEN!!! I was so scared and it was horrible and poor ds was parked in the corner watching his mummy wince and I nearly fainted when I sat up! Not the best experience but nice and numb now!!

saralou · 13/06/2007 08:52

morning ladies!!!!

i feel like i did another night shift last night, ryan woke about 11 last night and didn't go back to sleep till 2.30, i was becoming stroppy mummy!!!

debz99, try making foods with formula in to top up his amount if your worried he's not getting enough... a couple of ounces with cereal, cheese sauces, ummmm.... (run out of idea's )

nat, you look like i thought too,(but i also find it wierd seeing people, in a nice way... it's just... well, wierd!!) your boys look like you i think! you should have put a before hair and makover shot (i'm always 'lying' to dp on how much stuff costs... lukily he's a man and has no clue on such things!!!)

mygirl, is this the new blw... get them to pick their own food too! ds2 is currently on the paper/wipes diet (if anyone can explain the small child obsession with a packet of wipes i'll send you virtual goodies!!)

ajm, hope your enjoying a painfree back!

charee, i felt it rond my waist, but i don't think i lost any weight either... i just felt more toned (which has now descended back into flub!) actually talking of weight, a patient asked me if i was expecting! i could have cried when i walked away! ( shame i'm not allowed to call her an evil witch ) my stomachs not that bad fgs!

AlfieJacksmummy · 13/06/2007 08:59

I want virtual goodies but have no idea about the wipes thing except that my ds has an obbsession with them too.
If it makes you feel any better saralou someone asked me if I was pg again the other day - I felt most upset too!

saralou · 13/06/2007 09:06

at least theirs no calories to add to our pg bellies!!

AlfieJacksmummy · 13/06/2007 09:16

Ohh thankyou saralou. Galaxy..my favourite. My day is looking up already

NatalieJane · 13/06/2007 09:17

Morning all

Sara I haven't got a picture of me before on my phone, got a couple on the camera but the pictures won't upload to MN and I can't be arsed re-sizing them TBH!! Hope you get some more sleep tonight.

I wish people would ask me if I was expecting, at least then I'd have an excuse for being fat!

Right I am off to beat my sister up with a wooden stick, she still hasn't put the order through for the carseat and the Zapp, GRRRRRRR!

mygirllollipop · 13/06/2007 09:26

DD3 has to be the most obsessed with wipes, she'd pull them out of the packet and suck the life out quickly replaced by another from teh packet and so on. DD4 seems to want to follow in her obsession but we know the signs this time around!

saralou · 13/06/2007 09:31

mygirl, ds1 does that wth wipes too... wierdo!!

mygirllollipop · 13/06/2007 09:35

We used to put the webcam on DD3 'cos no-one believed us! The amount of wipes we wasted. TBH she's still a bit osessed.

saralou · 13/06/2007 09:45

i know how ds1's obsession started, dpused to give him a wipe to play with whenhe was nappy changing.... he quite often walks round with a wipe stuck in his mouth (when he gets the opportunity to that is)

i'm wiser this time too (ish anyway ) i have an empty packet for ds2 to play with when nappy changing

it's the only thing that will keep him on his blooming back!!

mygirllollipop · 13/06/2007 11:58

It does keep them occupied mind. DD4 sometimes crawls around with one hanging out of her mouth like a dog.

AlfieJacksmummy · 13/06/2007 12:29

Sorry to change the subject from wipes but need another moan (sorry). I have raging toothache!!!! Have to go to the dental access centre as I have no dentist and have had to wait till 2, im PETRIFIED of the dentist and think it is highly unfair after what I ahd to go through yeterday, why am I being punished!!??

Debz99 · 14/06/2007 08:55

Morning Ladies

Thanks for the advice, I think I am worrying over nothing ! He is gaining weight however alot slower now thank goodness as he is on his feet the majority of the day wanting to be walked around the room, baby walker is a god send but not for long as he gets bored after about 10 mins LOL ! I still try and "force feed" him 5 bottles a day and think that maybe its too much now ! He was wanting feeding every 3 hours but yesterday I left it until he cried for it and he didn't eat for 4 and a half hours !!! Nobody tells you these things ... when your a first time mum and don't have a bloody clue LOL !

AlfieJacksmummy I can sympathise about dentist I have a real phobia but DP nagged and nagged me to go before the maternity exemption ran out ... was petrified .. DP came with me to hold my hand. Good job I went as I have lots of work to be done and it would have cost me a fortune !!!! Hope the pain has eased a bit.

Oh and my DS has a thing about wipes too !!!

NatalieJane · 14/06/2007 09:24

Morning all

What a bloody grotty day, it is cold, wet, windy, and I have so much house work to do it is going to take me most of the day I think, but never mind, it is nearly the weekend!

Debz, don't worry, I think every first time mum is the same, you never want to get it wrong, but the truth is as long as they are loved, cleaned and fed, you can't really go wrong. And if it helps any, it is a bit easier with your second, but there are still questions that nead answering and problems to sort out, every baby is different and what works for one doesn't work for the other, so you are still learning.

DH wreaked my stainless steel hob last night Not long after we changed the kitchen he melted the steamer on to it, managed to get most of the plastic off but some did linger, he kept promising he would buy a new hot plate for it and never got round to it, so he has been managing with just three rings for a couple of years, and then last night he melted the chip pan onto it (we very rarely use the fryer, but I fancied egg and chips for a change!) Anyway, so now he has agreed that we will need to change the whole thing, £200 later, and he is well and truely in the dog house!

Right I am off for some brekkie, catch you all later xxx

Charleesunnysunsun · 14/06/2007 10:33

AlfieJacksmummy · 14/06/2007 20:56

Hi ladies, was just coming on to say my goodbyes cos we are off on holiday to Minehead Butlins tom till monday (but Charlee has stole my thunder!!) spooky!!! It x-factor weekend and Ben Mills, Chicco, and Journey South are going to be there, it is our 1st holiday altogether so very exciting.

Nearly thought we weren't going tho, I went to the access centre where they butchered me with no aneststic (sp) because 'they didnt have time' and then had a bad reaction and spent all last night writhing around in agony, went to a private dentist today, only to be told there is nothing wrong with my teeth but I have an infection in my face, was given an xray and some antibiotics told the access centre had made it worse and then took £40 off me! Oh well feeling a bit better now even if I am off my face on painkillers!!
Hope your all ok and have a nice weekend

Charleesunnysunsun · 15/06/2007 07:46
