Oh yeah, forgot to add. Can everyone keep their fingers crossed that Alfie has put weight on because if he hasn't this week I think they are gonna get a bit worried (not to mention me). I could really do without the stress.
Thanks

mygirllollipop · 05/06/2007 09:25

AJM - you can still get housing benefit if DP works, but you might not know how much until nearer the time you move in. BTW you can apply for it before you have moved in! When DH and I first moved in we were entitled to it. You might be entitled to council tax benefit. Could you not put you cats on Freecycle to a good home and still visit them, someone done that with rabbits on ours a few weeks ago? Or give them to family then sneak them back in, our landlord doesn't know we keep a rabbit in the house! I'm sure Alfie will be healthy.
Debbsy emailled on Sat, she had a bump in the car, I think she is OK but must remember to email her...........
Our house move is going slow. Even though there is no chain either way. Must ring solicitor and mortgage advisor. PIL saw it at the weekend and liked it!

Charleesunnysunsun · 05/06/2007 09:33

Morning all.

Nothing really to report here but just wanted to say hi!

AJ - That is so pants i remember bawling in the councils office when they said the same to me, luckily DP has a wealthy family who ended up paying a mamoth deposit to get us in here or we would have been homless.

I really hope something works out for you.

I am finally trying to do something about my post baby bulge! Anyone who ants to join me feel free i could use the support.

AlfieJacksmummy · 05/06/2007 09:44

Oh ive got great tips for losing that stomach! Firstly I had a stomach bug and lost half a stone and now with all the stress and worry I haven't really eaten so expecting to have lost agin today when I get weighed.
I really wouldn't recommend it though
Thanks for all the help and support ladies you really are all lovely!!
to you all for the support.

podglet · 05/06/2007 15:53

Fingers crossed for Alfie's gain - my little tubby weighed in at 19lb 3oz today at 31 weeks, even though he currently is refusing to eat due to teeth

AlfieJacksmummy · 05/06/2007 16:12

Yey!!! Alfie has put on 9oz so is now 17lb 10oz which they said is fine, so I am so relieved now.
Also we have just found a nice house, a bit further out than we are now but seems nice, just waiting to hear if the landlord will accept so fingers crossed again for me please ladies (sorry your all gonna be in agony by the end of the day!)
Finally seems things are getting a bit better and dp has asked for a raise!
Thanks for all your nice messages while ive had all this s**t going on

debbsyandsonn · 05/06/2007 18:09

Back to work tomorrow bit upset back soon xx

podglet · 05/06/2007 19:31

Oh Debbsy, knew it was coming up. Thinking of you tomorrow and sending you a huge hug.

AJM, sounds promising, keeping fingers crossed - makes typing difficult though! Hurrah for Alfies weight gain too!

saralou · 06/06/2007 08:43

have a good day debs xx

my neck still hurts and i feel like a space cadet from pain killers... then i get hayfever and every time i sneeze is like pure torture! (sob)

hope your all ok... i'm going to resume my position of pity on the sofa!..........

Charleesunnysunsun · 06/06/2007 18:52

Oh crap, crap, crap! We have had a day of it!

DP has lost his job, well i say lost he is being forced out. They have given him the choice of either leaving or working for comission only which is about £10 a week, they know that we can't live on that so basicly he has to leave and can't claim job seekers allowence becuase he volenterily 'left' his job!

It's arse it really is, that job was perfect it had the hours and his manager was understanding of Jack's needs so dp was allowed time off when he needed it.

Then we wnt to the g.p's as dp has a dodgy mole and he has reffered him to the skin specialist who have already rung to make the apoointment so i am assuming it's bad altohugh i haven't mentioned it to dp.

Argh!

OP posts:
AlfieJacksmummy · 06/06/2007 18:59

Oh no Charlee! What utter arseholes they are!!!
Im sure they are just being extra cautious with dp, I know its hard but try not to worry till you know.
Im so sorry you've had such a horrible day take some

Charleesunnysunsun · 06/06/2007 19:01

Thanks AJ - It's so shite about his job, he didn't get the other one he applied for either so now were screwed and we can't afford our private rent anymore so were at the mercy of the council!

I'm freaking out about the mole thing, our g.p is a star and really pushes for things so that probably why he got a call so quickly but we can't be doing with this on top of everything else!!!!!!!

Sorry i know im going on about myself as usual, i hope your all doing ok.

OP posts:
AlfieJacksmummy · 06/06/2007 19:04

Dont be silly thats what this thread is for, everyone to moan

I totally feel for you with the council thing! They dont care and treat you like scum and it shouldn't be allowed because you need help not abuse! Im sure something will come along soon enough and who knows it might be even better!
Chin up chick!

saralou · 06/06/2007 21:34

charlee, that sounds like 'constructive dismissal' to me... i just asked dp as he knows about these comission things.. what does your dp do for a living? how long has he worked their... he suggested you seek legal advice!

you don't really need all this right now though!! sorry about not getting the job... one will turn up, even if it's just a shitty one till he can get a better one! dp's just spent 6months doing this, it's been hard but we're beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel!

((((((((hugs frome me too))))))))))))) xx

podglet · 07/06/2007 08:15

Charlee, that def sounds like constructive dismissal to me. Can you give us a few more details, only I am going on holiday with the PIL on Sat and MIL is a top legal secretary with approx 25 years experience so she should be able to help you! You may have to wait a few days though as I am not back in the UK til the 17th... but I will gladly ask her what you & DP should do if you want.

Am sure that your GP has pushed your DP's appointment through quickly to avoid more worrying for you.

You sound in need of a large glass of wine, chocolate and a hug!

AJM, how are you getting on with your house huning?

Charleesunnysunsun · 07/06/2007 08:45

The not so short version of dp's work is.

He worked as a survey agent basicly ringing people on appointment to so a market research survey. He was good at it got loads of bonuses and loads of surveys.

The company went bst and was brought out by a very ell known dodgy company called Satalite Direct. They do cold calling sales which dp isn't good at and wasn't meeting target so they have said that he can either leave or go on commission which is £10 a week roughly.

it's a terrible company which breeches so many health and saftey laws but dp has chose to ingore these so far as it was the difficult hours he needed.

i.e no air con, no breaks, they had a bad case of fleas so we all had to do our houses! The list is endless!

but because of the switch over in companys he has technically only been wwith this company since Jan so has no legal rights as far as i know.

Bloody cheeks gits if you ask me! Leaving a man with 2 babies jobless with a weeks notice!

NatalieJane · 07/06/2007 09:24

Morning all

And happy 6 month birthday to my littlest boy and a little as well, he is going to be as big as his big bro soon enough

Charlee, I can't believe yet more shit has been dumped on you, I really hope it all turns out for the best.

We had George weighed yesterday, at 26 weeks he is 19lb 10. I am waiting for the HV to ring to see about weaning, I am thinking about giving up BF now, I didn't want to do it for more than 6 months, but if she says it will be better to wean off the breast once he is weaned on to solids, I shall carry on BF for now.

saralou · 07/06/2007 09:29

i see, dp did say not meeting targets would be the one situation where it wouldn't be a constructive dismissal... sorry chick dp has worked in direct sales for years, it's a harsh world they work in!

hope you have some luck with the housing people xx

saralou · 07/06/2007 09:31

aah, yes and happy 6 month birthday to george and ryan

where did that little baby go i think this big monster here ate him!

saralou · 07/06/2007 11:21

can i tell you all about the stupid thing i have just done...

ds1 kept grabbing at the dog lead, which was getting woof all excited, so ok i'll take you for a walk... get the boys all loaded up, walking to the waste ground and the lead gets tangled up in the wheel, grrrrrrr.....

so we're in their plying with a ball, ds1 running round in the long grass, lots of fun... then i hear 'mummy stuck, mummy stuck' from ds1... over i go to look and he's only managed to find a patch of tar to stand in,and is now stuck... i've had to leave his shoes their, stuck to the ground!!!

grr grrr grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

podglet · 07/06/2007 12:22

Oh Sara, why are children like magnets to these things. Am hoping shoes were old and inexpensive...

Charlee, your DP is a bit stuck by the sounds of things. Really sorry to hear this. Can he start registering with any recruitment firms?

Have just added a pic of DS taken last week when it was v cold, if anyone wants a sneaky peek...

AlfieJacksmummy · 07/06/2007 12:54

Oh dear saralou sounds like something that would happen to me! Also hoping the shoes were cheapy ones.

Podglet - just had a sneeky look and i must say 'how cute' he looks like such a little sweety.

Well it didnt go to well looking at the houses today the one is MILES away from anywhere and dp doesnt drive and the other isgone! There is one that looks good but a bit more than we were looking to pay so will have to have a think about what we can sort out!

Charleesunnysunsun · 07/06/2007 13:05

Yeah he is regestering asap with recrutment firms but it will be hard to find someone who is willing to aork around Jack's needs.

He's claiming he's not bothered and he will find something else but i know he is annoyed becuase it's going to be such a challenge.

It's so annoying before he got this current job the job center were encouraging him to stay at home fulltime with me and claim carers allowence for jack but he chose to work as he said he didn't want paying for looking after his own child. There are people who can't be bothered to work who would jump at this chance but still dp wanted to work and now this has happened!

OP posts:
saralou · 07/06/2007 18:07

nope, they were clarke's and they were the flashy up light ones... and still very wearable!!!! have kept everone amused telling the story though!!!

saralou · 07/06/2007 18:20

oh, and the lead is still tangled round the pushchair wheel.. dp needs to fix it when he gets home!!

whilst out today ryan did an exploding poo that went all over me, so i've had to borrow a friends top and an outfit for ryan as i forgot spares!!

i think i should have stayed in bed today
