Mellin · 11/04/2007 10:58

Hi folks,

Hope everyone enjoyed the meet-up today, would have joined you all if not in Australia!

We have left Sydney to stay with my parents on their small farm for a few weeks. dh left on Sunday to return to work in London and am feeling a little guilty as not yet missing him as much as I should . It was great while he was here as we left bub with mil and got to go to dinner/drinks with friends which we have only done once while in London.

Today was dd's first day on the farm and already she has swum in the pool, shrieked at a horse and seen her first cow. Oh and she tried her first baby rice today, not too impressed but she managed to get some down. I tried it as well and yuck! Will be moving to veg asap.

Martha: Sounds like a horror Easter for you. My god, lambing..... you are brave! Hope you have a much more restful time in France.

BubbleM: We are visiting NSW, Sydney first and now on the north coast near Port Macquarie.

Just got back - will let someone else pick the venue next time as service not good and ut was rather loud! Nice food, though, and really good to meet Samsmam andBubblemummy for the first time and to see Gingeme again . Top marks to G for bringing her DH - he and William had a nice manly chat at one end of the table which kept W amused for ages . Gingeme has photos. Mine isthe grubby baby in babygro and socks having covered his romper suit in masticated toast.

Aren't all our babies good-looking? Perhaps we should offer a modelling opportunity with all the Oct babies

Swizzler · 11/04/2007 17:06

Sorry you couldn't make it ITH and for your bad night.

chilledmama · 11/04/2007 19:36

Room for a little one???
DS born 17 Oct and have only found MN in last couple of weeks...not sure what I did in the evenings BMN!

Rumpel · 11/04/2007 19:46

Hi chilledmama - welcome. we are all very to use an older mn's comment 'nice and fluffy' on this thread and always have room for more!
Could you have made the meet -up in London today or are you somewhere else?
What is your LO called? If you scroll down you can copy and paste in your details to the list.

Hope you all enjoyed the meet-up - can't wait to see the photos.

Samsmam - your DH back to work this week? How is the weight loss going? I've managed to lose another pound probably due to body fluids as have a terrible stinking snotty cold!

Swizz - how is the weaning going? I was looking at my Annabel Karmel book last night and she said better to wait until LO is 8 months before you give them lentils as they are hard to digest. Did you get any helpful recipes or ideas?

Supposed to be going to my bro's this week to see my little niece again (3 months old)but have had to cancel again, last week was 'cos DH had flu. Am desperate to see how much she has changed as haven't seen her since she was a week old.

Well off for a relaxing soak as littly is in bed.

HI chilledemma and welcome to the friendliest place in town
Was soooo lovely to see all the mummies and babies today. What alot of cuties. Apologies for a rather tired and hungry ds3 today. If I told you he's not normally like that would you believe me?
Dh will get the photos sorted tommorrow. No use me doing it Ill probably delete them or something just as useless.
We saw Clon on the way out of the resteraunt which was great not having seen her lo yet. Another cutie.
Well my two little terrors are fast asleep now so Im off for a bath. Dh at work which is where he should be. Night all and looking forward to the next meet up.
Oh Swizzler one of those Giraffe places is pretty near me so maybe well go there next time.

samsmam · 11/04/2007 21:16

Welcome Chilledmama

I made it home after the meet up, not such a stressful journey back home- thank goodness.

Great to meet people for 'real' Samantha had her eye on all the little boys!
I saw clon get off the train I was on- she must have got on at Charing X- she must have run to the station as I left you all chatting and walked to Waterloo!

Gingeme- I understand you DS3 being upset, the amount of time her waited for food- he did pretty well I thought.

Rumpel- DP meant to be back at work on Monday but fracture clinic yesterday said it was down to GP as not completely healed- so off there tomorrow- fingers crossed. Living off £70.05 a week is getting tighter.
Weight loss has slowed but I lost 2.5lb at weigh in tonight- not bad after putting on 3.5lb last two weeks. 23lb to date.

samsmam · 11/04/2007 21:19

BTW- Swizzler- venue was good- just service wasn't great but thats not your fault.
Looking forward to next meet up just worried about getting there!

Swizzler · 11/04/2007 22:00

Gingeme: honestly, your DS was v well behaved for a nearly 3 year old! Lovely to see him again .

Glad you had a good journey back Samsmam.

DS slept all the way back on the bus and is still fast asleep after going down at about 6:30 - think we wore him out! He was v impressed at all the other babies (and obv thought Samantha's socks looked v tasty )

Work again tomorrow - boo hiss

clon · 12/04/2007 07:56

Hello all,

How lovely to bump into some of you yesterday after your meet up. Sorry I've been a bit useless at joining in with the thread just don't seem to get on the poota as much these days.

All your babies looked lovely and in great form and good to hear you're all coping well.

Sorry if I didn't see you on the train Samsmam, I was quite lucky and walked straight onto a train when I got to the station. I think charing x is probably easier to get to from where I chatted to you all as it's just a quick nip over the bridge, even had enough time to stop Gingeme doing too much shopping!!

Well great to see some of you and hello to everyone else.

take care

Dont worry Clon I didnt spend too much. Just a couple of London gifts for my boys in Scotland
Glad your feeling a little better InTheHouse and yes a good nights sleep does wonders for your sanity. Must admit since my periods have returned after lo Ive felt realy ill and hormonal just before hand. Not nice for anyone.
Glad also you got home safe and sound yesterday samsam. Dh kept going on about how cute your lo is and how her cheeks were just right for squeezing.
Were off to get some bits for party bags soon. ds3 turns 3 tommorrow so its party time on Saturday. Going for a pic nic tommorrow at our local park with Nanny and Aunty and cousins so hell get thoroughly spoilt.
Will get dh to do the photos of yesterdays meet up today too.

sorry about that, this link should work for the mumsnet meet up on the 11/04/07.

gingeme · 12/04/2007 11:46

dh just had a bit of trouble. The top link works. Enjoy.

samsmam · 12/04/2007 15:57

Great pictures- gingeme. Well done to DH and now my DP wants to come to the next meet up!

Well I went to the doctors today after feeling more and more tired and generally unwell- even though I get at least 10 hours of sleep a day. He took one look and said I am more than likely anaemic. He thinks it could all stem from the amount of blood loss after having LO.

ITH- Glad you are feeling better today and the sunshine always makes me feel better.

Swizzler- Hope your 2nd day back at work was ok.

gingeme · 12/04/2007 17:01

Your welcome samsam. Looks like dh has started a trend.
Ive always been a bit anemic so I take iron tabs when Im pregnant. Discovered it when I was 18 and first went to give blood. Havnt been able to give a couple of times because my iron count has been low.
You may be better off to get more iron in your diet or take multi vitamins with iron near your period. Anyway sure your doc will sort it out for you.
