Over here ladies-

I did it again - hope you don't mind.

I think chocolate has iron doesn't it?

Swizzler · 12/04/2007 19:02

Def go for chocolate

Lovely pics Gingeme - DH esp liked the one where William's sticking his finger up Sebastian's nose (that's what it looks like anyway ).

ITH: sorry you've been feeling grim, but yay for your good night!

Think the meet-up tired William out - he only woke a couple of times last night (rare for him) and slept till 7am. So felt much more human today. Work went well and have decided not to go in tomorrow as it's pretty quiet.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. So, when are we next meeting up?

Rumpel · 12/04/2007 19:44

Eve' All,

Pictures are great - is there any way they can be enlarged? Quite hard to see them 'cos they're totie.

Samsmam - well done for the 2.5lbs. I've managed to lose a stone now from Jan - only 2 to go . G&B dark choc has iron in - currently scoffing a few squares of Maya gold! All the green leafy veg has lots of iron -spinach, cress etc. Need to make sure you take enough vit c as well, as you need it to absorb iron properly. Try not to have tea/coffee at mealtimes either as they inhibit iron uptake, fizzy drinks really inhibit absorption of most things so best to avoid them too for a while. Hope you are feeling more like your old self again soon.

My poor Lo is in terrible pain with her teeth and she has horrific nappy rash now too Almost bleeding today it is so raw. I usually use red clover cream but I used sudocream tonight as it is so bad. Must be the teething thing as she usually doesn't have any probs that way. Left her lying bare bummed for ages too - thank goodness the weather is so fabby.

I posted off my essay yesterday _ I feel as though I should be 2 stoen lighter after that! HURRAH Just hope I pass now Well off for a bath.

samsmam · 12/04/2007 20:27

Bad news- DP has to have another two weeks off.

Thanks for all the advice on iron- I was just sitting here thinking that I have been drinking so much diet coke and wondered if it had any effect.
GP advised that I shouldn't get pregnant until iron stores had been replaced.

Next meetup- how about a picnic in a park or something? May/June? Our LO's should be sitting up by then- well probably all except Samantha!!

Swizzler · 13/04/2007 11:57

Samsmam: sorry about your DP. Can you make the most of backup from family and friends in teh next couple of weeks? You could try persuading your partner that walking/bathing/changing/feeding the baby is great physio in preparation for return to work

Stop Press: DS is asleep in his cot! And has been for well over an hour! A first for many months

Bubblemummy · 13/04/2007 15:35

Hi everyone

Thanks for putting the pics up gingeme (well, thanks to your DH!). Showed them to my DH, he has never really seen Sebastian playing with other babies.

Was really good to put some faces to names, and I think Seb was pretty excited to see other little people like him!

Glad to hear you got back OK samsmam, good idea for next meet, picnic would be nice.

Sorry to hear about your teething troubles rumpel, seb just got his first tooth today. He seems ok though, so I'm feeling lucky.

Congrats on getting DS to sleep swizzler! Seb had toast all over him the other day too, I've tried giving him more toast since but he doesn't seem to know what to do with it. He just rips it up and throws it. He's gone off yoghurt now too, so not doing too well with the food thing! Yoghurt was the only food he wanted to eat...

And welcome to chilledmama

HoratioMcCain · 13/04/2007 15:41

Hi ladies!

Have only just spotted this thread and was wondering if I could join you? My dd was born October 7th.

BENDYB · 13/04/2007 15:55

hello every1!
hello HoratioMcCain & welcome! add yourself to the list!( scroll down to find it)
welcome 2 chilledmama aswell!

glad u guys enjoyed the meet up, nice pics! think i will try come 2 the next 1, yeah a picnic sounds good!

samsmam- i am anaemic now aswell, coz i lost a lot of blood when lo was born.
xxx

gingeme · 13/04/2007 19:12

Hi HoratioMcCain and welcome.
Sounds like a step in the right direction Swizzler lets hope it continues
Congrats to Sebastian on tooth number one!!

Well its been a busy birthday today for ds3. He got loads of great gifts and I think lo was impressed with his Noddy remote control car wizzing round the place. Kept him amused for ages.
Got ds3's birthday party tomm so bought a birthday cake and some party bag fillers.
Hope you all have an excelent weekend.
Oh dont forget some of our lo's will probably be crawling byJune so if we do a pic nic itll mean alot of chasing around after them.

samsmam · 13/04/2007 19:58

Welcome HM- Our dd's born on the same day!
As Bendyb says- add yourself to the list- cut and paste from below.

to the picnic, forgetting about the crawling- but it'd be fun! Can't think of anything else?

Gingeme-Hope the party goes ok tomorrow.

Not a bad day here, I gave LO some chicken today pureed with sweet pot and broccoli, seemed to enjoy it.

Hope everyone gets the lovely weather we've been promised.

EeyoreIsFab · 13/04/2007 20:31

Hi all - welcome Chilledmama & Horatio!

Loved the photos of your meet up - they all (LOs that is!) look so gorgeous.

DS has experienced grass for the first time in the past few days - not too impressed!!

He's also started to go to sleep a little earlier now, so we're beginning to have some evening time to ourselves rather than just crashing into bed when he does!

taffy101 · 13/04/2007 21:04

Hi not been on for a while too busy being domestic goddess , hopes you all had nice easter. We had family get together in wales which was nice with easter egg hunt for all the kiddies.
The meet up looked fun - too bad i live near manchester!! my sis lives in blackheath i shall have to visit her when you're having one in the future

Welcome new mnetters

Well, no crawling or rolling here - just lots of arching of the back and scaring me to death by nearly popping out of bumbo/bouncy chair and actually escaping from baby nest!! Mil said he needs tummytime but he really seems to hate that .
Trouble with dd past 2 weeks - in a+e last week for bump on head and this week she has a mysterious rash which our gp (who's specialty is dermatology) is bamboozled by. He says prob allergy and prescribed antihistamine cream and medicine. Hope it goes soon. It is just on legs, arms and face and almost looks like psoriasis in places.Doesn't bother her much, bit itchy but cream is sorting that out, she thinks she looks like a spotty dalmation.

must go, am resisting the urge to click active conversations or i'll be here all night

hi every1!

what a lovely day its been, so hot!

The 2 horses i picked in the grand national came 1st & 3rd!!! well lucky eh? I had only put a pound on each 1, each way though, still, i won £46! so quite pleased!

Kai is almost properly crawling now, he can go backwards really well! just not forwards properly yet!
have started him on solids now aswell, & he is at last drinking water!

hope every1s ok & all the gorgeous babies. xxx

Swizzler · 14/04/2007 19:49

Well done on the gee gees Bendy. DH got William to pick a hoss (think he dribbled on the requisite picture) but it came 11th .

DS nicely asleep = lets hope he stays that way...

BENDYB · 14/04/2007 21:32

lol, the 1 kai picked fell on 1 of the 1st fences!

marthahm · 15/04/2007 21:00

just back from a magnificent holiday in france. sharing the childcare responsibility is such bliss.dh was great and did lots of night duty to make up for being away. lo has learnt how to sit up on her own and looked like a fat little budha sitting up in my old pram on our walks.
first day at work tomorrow hope my brain is ready. and hope i don't spend all day wondering what Hope is doing
samsmam re anaemia, tanin in tea leaches iron from your body so don't have too much of that.not sure about diet coke! sorry about your dh
rumpel there is no way we're planning the next one!! just recovering from the 4 months of nightmare since birth plus horrible pg. will give it a nice wide gap hopefully-still, will practice lots in the meantime

marthahm · 15/04/2007 21:07

lovely pics of meet up, they all look so cute, esp when they were looking at each other. will really try to make next one.
bendyb-kai is obviously super athletic baby to be doing so much moving, really impressive. i know my sil was v early with all that and is now a professional 3 day eventer with horses, not holding any hopes over here for Hope though; we couldn't have been more rubbish at sport in my family, mum used to bribe us not to cry on sports day!

morning - long time no post - sorry not sure where the time has gone to. See I missed a meet up - what a shame, but maybe next time, although I go back to work in mid June (full time), so maybe not!

Glad the sunshine and warmth is finally here.

Let's see - ds2 no teeth, although teething like mad - we drug him with medisaid most nights before bed. Rolling over, can sit up with some help, although can't get there himself, eating for Britain and still a very happy chap!

DS1 back in school today - thank goodness!

Gingeme - hope the birthday party went well with not too many tears!

see ya!

Good morning all.
Yes thanks catgirl the party was brill and no tears in sight. Nice to hear from you . Glad things are good with you.
Got a friend who is now 9 days over due and shes feeling thoroughly miserable. Im trying to keep her spirits up with helpful hints. Shes smiling but underneath I can see her thinking'just get this baby out, now, please?'.
Lo is eating for England. He tried wholemeal pitta bread yesterday. Seemed to suck it very well I think some of it actualy went in too
Ds3 is at pre school now. He couldnt wait to go bless him.
Well have a good day all xxx

Swizzler · 16/04/2007 11:01

Catgirl and Martha: lovely to hear from you. Sypathies re teething Catgirl: finally got one through, but it's a rare night that he doesn't need any Calpol or Medised... we've a had a couple of bad nights (waking every hour - zzzzzzzz) but yesterday demionstrated being able to sit up straight without propping himslef up on his hands, so that might be why. Better night lsat night - only a few wakings and 2 4-hr stretch.

Catgirl: could you email me? I managed to lose your email and phone details! Might be nice to meet for a coffee before you're back at work (and while I'm still on 3 days).

Martha: hope today went well. I found coming back to work much better than I expected.

Gingeme: glad the party went well

Inthehouse: slings are great, aren't they?
