Beksmum · 11/06/2007 22:57

Hi girls

Feetheart, Thank you so much for a really great day today, it was really lovely to see you both and A is just adorable and his signing is just amazing. Thank him for my cuddles too.
Thought all the kids behaved really well and A & T did fantastically without a sleep, T lasted a little bit longer in the car than A but woke up after 45 mins and his dad said he didn't go to sleep until 9:30ish - not my problem as I was out at a focus group!!!
Will try to post some photo's tomorrow as dh moaning about me being on the pc and I've already got the ache with him so am going to go to bed now before a row ensues

Beks

Londoner · 12/06/2007 11:56

Hello...... sorry to be a stranger.... have enjoyed all your posts but haven't been up to putting anything in writing....tired mostly.

Our update if I may:
Pseudonym for lo is a good idea but having trouble finding one so will call her Baby.

Baby is 19 months now with a full set of teeth. She is very loud and very very happy and joyful. She sleeps through the night (yessss!).
She loves nothing more than hanging out with other children whatever their ages, boys and girls all. She has a bundle of candyfloss for hair at the back which sticks out at a 90 degree angle. She can talk and talk all day and just yesterday put 5 words together, something along the lines of "that's mummy's nose it's funny" followed by laughter. She is obsessed with ants and beetles and shrieks to have them on her hand. She wants to wear everyone else's shoes-today it was dh's very heavy size 11 brogues.

Belated Happy Birthdays to Rodeo and Diege!

Beksmum · 12/06/2007 13:26

Hi girls

Welcome back Londoner, good to see you, E sounds adorable, will e-mail you about Tuesday.

Nova hope Noo is feeling better, T bounced back within a day or two and was able to scream as loud as normal by the end of the week!

Rodeo, oh you do make me feel better, J & B sound so alike, B earnt his fish yesterday but woke up like the devil had possessed him this morning, having a screaming fit because his blanket had fallen off - grrr
Well done on the clear out and eek at the road collapsing.

Twinkle hope you have a great time.

Have added some pictures from yesterday on the Y site if anyone fancies a look.

Right best go and see what devil child is up to as he's very quiet, also refusing to sleep today again - mummy is not impressed. Beks

GreedyGecko · 12/06/2007 20:36

Hi everyone.

Good to see you Londoner.

Glad you all had a good time Beks, FH & LOs.

Have been shopping for shoes today (sshh! Don't tell DP ). But I did need them, honest , my feet wouldn't fit in any of my shoes and I had to go out the other night in flats .

Does anyone know what this facebook thing is? It seems to be everywhere at tje moment, and I've just been added to a firends list. Didn't even know I was registered on it. Never heard of it before this week.

Rodeo · 12/06/2007 22:09

Evening!
Hi Londoner! So lovely to see your post, Wow at 'mummy's funny nose'! What a darling! Hope you're ok and looking after yourself
Oh Beks, you don't know the half of it! He throws a wobbly at least twice a day, I just try and be consistent (Dp prefers the 'blind eye' approach ) Computer games are completely banned, I try to get him to bed early and make sure he's never hungry (or all hell breaks loose!). They'll be a light at the end of the tunnel soon, there's just got to be!
Hi GG, ooh heels shopping?! Strappy/boots/peep-toe? Come on we need more info! Think facebook is similar to myspace (hows that going Diege? ) but that's all I know
Right off to rest my achey bones, been for my 3rd run tonight! I'm ever so slightly enjoying it too! Night x

OP posts:
Beksmum · 12/06/2007 23:47

Hi ya,

Good for you on the shoe shopping GG.

Did a bit of a spulge on myself this week, remember I mentioned the TK Maxx thing, well ended up blowing my market research pay in their on 2 pairs of jeans a fiver each - bonus, a pair of shoes and a jacket. Can't remember the last time I bought stuff just for me - oh the decadence of the eternally skint

Rodeo, think we'll have to compare notes properly on the boys as we've got to the end of our tether with B, so it would be good to hear first hand how you deal with it as B loses the plot morning and night but nights are especially bad.

Busybean, meant to say earlier that I was sorry to hear about your dad and your friend. Well done for getting through it all and passing your exams and coping with the kids too. I'm in awe, could you send some of your organisational skills this way please.

Right best go and give dh back his pc. Beks

feetheart · 13/06/2007 11:27

Nice pictures BEKS though the one of A and T doing lunch would be more accurately titled "A sidling over to T to nick his chips"!! Still haven't downloaded mine - sorry.

Rodeo - I also haven't sent you the camping list but will do soon, I promise.

Londoner - lovely to see you post and E sounds wonderful

Good news today - after over 18 months, 3 County Court cases and starting the process to make him bankrupt the b**tard letting agent has FINALLY paid me the rent that he collected but never passed on to me. Its nearly 3 grand
The cheque was in the bank within the hour and if it clears (fingers crossed but not holding my breath!) I think some spending will be in order - the list is being drawn up as we speak

Pre-school collection beckons, better go and wake up the poor second child!!

ChaCha · 13/06/2007 15:30

Hi everyone, Have just managed a quick catch up with a cup of tea while they nap, will post properly later in week, busy here [yawn]. Good to see posts from Londoner and Beks - Congrats on good news from FH and hi to everyone else

GG - I use Facebook, joined via an invite from an old student and since then have added contacts and been added. It's okayish, am not a big fan - the networking aspect is a bit open spaced for me.

Post soon x

Diege · 13/06/2007 16:02

Hi! Just back from Conference but wanted to say hi . Will catch up later!

Londoner · 13/06/2007 16:45

Hiya,

Love the pics Beks and Feetheart and can't believe how grown up the boys look and great stories... What a sweet bunch. Lovely to see pics of you too btw.
Feetheart congrats on getting back your money way to go.
Hey ChaCha, have to say am impressed with you up on the latest stuff, no knowledge of Facebook here. Hope you enjoyed your nice peace and quiet while ds's slept.
Diege, hope the conference went okay. Have to say I can't decide if I'm more excited about your new job or the prospect of Diege #4, it must be hard when you want 2 things at the same time but have to stagger them. Have to say I find that the broody urge to have more children is so powerful when it hits you how you manage to focus I don't know. Same with you ChaCha when they advised you to wait a year. Strong women.
Rodeo, so impressed by the big clearout and all this running, brilliant, way to go! Yeah I'm making a valiant effort to look after myself thanks but boy I don't think we've had a month without at least one child ill yet this year! I'm bally worn out and it shows. Feel very inspired by all this talk of self improvement and shopping though Beks and GG.

Ah gotta goo

LilJ · 13/06/2007 16:51

Right it's been an absolute age since I've even visited Mumsnet as have been swamped down at work and travelling quite a bit. Anyway thought as having a quiet day at work I'd just pop on and say hi!

Nathaniel update - where to start? He's walking, running, climbing, talking. He can name most animals and make their noises and particularly partial to giraffes at the moment. He's just moved up rooms at nursery so now he's the littlest instead of the biggest - having a few minor issues with the move, but generally seems to be relishing the new stuff to do in the new room. He loves stickers, books, watering plants and dancing (he's rather good at the hokey cokey).

I love being his Mum and am contemplating no. 2. Eek!

Hope everyone else is well and enjoying toddlerdom.

J xx

Londoner · 13/06/2007 22:23

OMG I so didn't think that guy was going to win the Sugar programme!

Hi LilJ!

babyonboard · 14/06/2007 00:33

Hi guys!

Londoner - lovely to hear from you! E sounds a treasure
Chacha, how are you doing, did you get my emails?
Nova - thaks for the hints, we ended up going to Volupte, very reserved, and the food was so so, but fun nonetheless! Then Bethnal Green Working Mens Club which was just spectacular! I had a great time. So lovely to get out and get dressed up. ( I did an amy winehouse style bouffant, heehee)

Hi to everyone else, I promise to catch up properly soon

Diege · 15/06/2007 15:59

Hello!! . Good to hear from everyone - E sounds adorable LONDONER , what a sweetie . Hi BOB!Sounds like you had a good night - bouffant sounds fab! FEETHEART - ooh, a good shopping session sounds in order - any ideas on what to spluge on? CHACHA/GG I've heard facebook is v.good - apparently lots of teachers use it? ; I'm still plodding along with myspace, signing up all sorts of people, just because I'm pleased they've asked ; of course, only wanting to plug bands that I am far to old to listen to or appreciate! RODEO/LONDONER agree about apprentice winner - apparently the others in the series planned on boycotting the follow-up show soon to be aired beacuse of Simon winning...they have been talked around though, with money no doubt . at your road RODEO !! Will it mean a massive detour to get to the stables?
Well, my news. Still waiting to hear about the job (they said end of this week, so that doesn;t leave long...tbh, when I think about the whole thing, from applying to interview/shortlist wait, I just feel a massive sense of fatigue, and indifference...not great, but at least if I don't get it I won't be crushed...and then of course it would be on to plan B!Will let you all know when I do anyway...sure you're all losing sleep over it .
Speak soon, D x

Londoner · 15/06/2007 18:21

Hi all,

Hi there Bob, agree with Diege, hairdo sounds great, bet you looked amazing. Hark at you getting out with 2 lo tucked up in bed, well done.
Diege, lol at you knowing all the goss on apprentice prog, I didn't know the extent of bad feeling towards Simon having only watched bits here and there, how funny..isn't he the one that had us all in hysterics winding legs onto the trampoline?! Sounds like classic school classroom stuff doesn't it? Have to say (re: your post about feelings on getting the job or not)that quite often when you feel like that about something you get it/win it.....when do you hear again?... the suspense! Can't you get them to post a decision on here for us?
Rodeo and Beks, thoughts are with you on tantrumming little boys, now I'm sure I still have a few bruises somewhere........ they wiiilllllllll grow out of it..... into doting sons who tower over and protect you.... In the meantime perhaps a pair of shin pads.... Oh and remember discovering some of worst tantrums from ds's could mostly be put down to either hunger, tiredness but mostly dehydration was a real discovery... esp in this hot/humid weather... making sure they drink loads & regularly can make such a difference. When you get them after school(and of course they get so hot and dehydrated in there) they are all three of those things, hungry, tired and thirsty. Found it always paid so well to turn up at school gates with something to eat/drink. hth.
Nova, hope the lo's are all better in time for the weekend.
Hi to ChaCha, FH, GG, BB, Twinkle, L&S, Busy, Lil, Tex, and anyone I missed.
Hope you all have a great weekend, oh and what are you all doing for fathers' day if you celebrate it? Nearly forgot to ask, haven't organised a thing here yet and starting to worry. Think I'll ask the kids what they want to get him and be guided by that... hope he doesn't mind some squashed ants and beetles from Baby lol.
Byee.

Diege · 15/06/2007 19:55

Hi LONDONER! Lol, oh I know just what you mean about getting/winning things when you're indifferent! I know I would say yes if it's offered, but I'm already looking up suplements for dh to take re: ttc no.4...will be strangely disappointed if I'm successful...have a feeling they'll stick letters in post for unsuccesful candidates, as I'm sure they would have rung by now (supposed to hear by today ). Re: father's day, I've just got dh a card and a huge chocolate medallion from Thorntons for the girls to give - nearly forgot to send card to my own dad. Oh and not bothering with this 'lie in ' lark - no-way am I sacrificing mine . Right, curry time in the diege household!

BrownieBells · 15/06/2007 20:48

Hey All![waves]

Don't seem to have had a chance to post mucht his week - but have been reading up on posts...Have had hectic week at work - lots of training, and things not going to plan (as usual!) so it's been a long week!
RE Fathers Day: Have got dh a card, and he has already had his v. exciting gift.....(wait for it!) .... a pair of Bridgedale walking socks!!!! (Well, it's what he wanted - and he's already worn them!)We are having a family BBQ here on Sunday - with FIL and My Dad (and their respective wives obviously!) and also my Nanna (so she doesn't have to spend the day on her own!) I would say weather permitting - but to be honest, we'll just BBQ in the rain if necessary (will get me well in the mood for camp at the end of the month hey! )

Diege - fingers crossed - either for job or for no. 4!

Rodeo - bet the heavy rain has also affected the road to the stables?

Bob - great to hear from you - night out at Volupte-whatsit sounded fab!

Nova - as always - hope you are doing fab, and that your 2 are well....oh and happy anniversary....ooh prada handbag (don't really know what they look like - but sounds great!) - note to self - 3 years = leather (me & dh will have been married for 3 yrs in September)

Londoner - hope you are ok...

GG - hope work & boys ok....glad ad's helping now

beks - love to all - good luck with tantrums - don't envy you there....

Sorry for:
anyone not mentioned, spelling mistakes & ramblings (that's what 3 large G&T's does for you on a Friday night!!!!!)

Love to you all.....

Brownie [hic!]

novadandypowder · 16/06/2007 19:40

As ever, no time to really catch up, and we're on holiday from monday so don't expect to hear from me for a bit.

Hope all is well with everyone, noo is well again and tummy troubles seem to have settled (although not without a few more 'incidents'). Miniman is getting hungrier and has started waking twice in the night for feeds after weeks of only once - boo hoo. Keep trying to fill him up during the day but he's having none of it.

Oh, and for those who know where I live - I have two really large dogs guarding the house as well as electrified fences and daggers that fly from the walls if you try to break in

Rodeo · 16/06/2007 21:27

Evening!
Night to myself tonight, had a late one last night in town for my best friends birthday, so been really tired with a semi-hangover today, yuk, but it was good
Nova, have a lovely holiday! Where are you off? Glad you got those daggers installed - you'll have to give us their number!
Diege, oh hopefully you'll find out soon! It's not just about the job - you're at a crucial life junction!! It'll be good news either way
Brownie - have a lovely BBQ! LOL at your [hic]!
Londoner, thanks for your advice Esp. turning up at home time with food and water, such a good idea - I only live a few hundred metres from the schoolgate, but after getting in, coats and shoes off, Jess out of pushchair etc, food and drinks often get forgotten. LOL at shinpads!
Feety - have you spent that money yet?! Fab news
Bob - glad good night was had by all
Hi LilJ - nice to here update on N
Well in my haste to get children up to bed, we've forgotton to make fathers day cards. Oops! That means I'll have to forego my lie-in to make them! Oh bum!
Better get an early night then, night all x

OP posts:
Diege · 17/06/2007 09:57

Morning! Hope you are all managing some sort of lie-ins, what with this father's day lark!! . I had my usual 6-8, now dh is upstairs for his 8- ??? Have negotiated a GOOD DEAL this afternoon anyway; dh is taking dds over to his mums, to give me time to 'put things on e-bay!' (desperate excuse here, as no marking this week...)Having said that it's my London thing again next week, before 3 weeks of intensive a-level exam marking, so just sort of storing up my energy.
Have a great hol NOVA! - yes, where are you off to? RODEO - hope hang-over is abating and that you get those father's day cards made - nightmare!!! Could you carry it over until later on? . You're so right about life junction; maybe I'm giving it too much significance, but that's how I'm seeing it. Am going to do a bit of 'digging' anyway, so I should know by tommorrow pm if my cunning plan works . One thought is, if I do get it, what's a reasonable amount of time before ttc, bearing in mind that I am 37? I thought starting ttc Spring 2008? OK, getting ahead of myself massively!
Right, better get dds the promised pickled onions (yuck!).

Rodeo · 17/06/2007 18:39

Hello
Yes got the cards done Diege - at 8 this morning! They were really cute, especially Joes - he's just learning to spell things phonetically 'To bab, luv fom Joe'! He drew a car on fire on the front ! I'd got him some Converse Chuck Taylor's as his last one's were completely sh*gged out!
What are you selling Diege? I have a pile in the corner of the bedroom to ebay, but I think it's going to take a while, think I might have to devote an afternoon to it too! Spring 2008 sounds fine to me BTW
Right, better get back to the dinner, and will have to check on 'the egg', will tell all later (don't get too excited!) Bye for now x

OP posts:
Diege · 17/06/2007 19:28

oooh, have you found an abandoned egg? Visions of fluffy chick emerging to gasps in the Rodeo household . Lol at Joe's burning car! dds drew a rain cloud and a darlek (sp?) on dhs .
Well, quite a productive afternoon - got 6 things listed - mainly the last of the baby bits, plus girls clothes/shoes, and some of my size 6 summer stuff - oh those were the days...

Londoner · 18/06/2007 09:30

Hiya all,

Just a quick message to say hi, hope you all had a great weekend, we did. Sunshine beach and all yesterday dh even went for a swim. Loved all kids F.day cards and favourite sweets selected by each.
Rofl at card with car on fire Rodeo and daleks Diege , classic, ah you made me laugh.
BB hope the BBQ went off well?
Diege, did dh ever get that choc medallion then...
Sounds like a good plan re:ttc in spring, although poss bit long for me to wait.
Hi Beks, GG and all, Nova glad lo's all better.
ChaCha, hope you're alright, missing your posts.
x
not so quick after all lol.

Rodeo · 18/06/2007 11:14

Morning!
Hi Londoner - your day sounds lovely! Not seen the sea this year yet, roll on Summer holidays
Diege, LOL at daleks under rainclouds And yes, we found an abandoned egg, me and Bella made a little egg out of a napkin and put it in the airing cupboard. The tale ends sadly though as we made the mistake of telling Joe, who crept back upstairs and put his thumb through it was thankfully just a eggy mess and not an undeveloped chick.
Hve got an inset day today so have all children at home, miserable grey day so we're going to put Jess up for a nap and we're going to watch Pirates of the Carribean in my bed, anything for a sneaky nap! Bye for now x

OP posts:
Rodeo · 18/06/2007 11:16

we made a nest out of a napkin, obv not an egg!
