It's been v.quiet here! Just a quickie before the 'hell hour',
Tessasmum, glad you're just about over it It's so sad when they stop smiling! You must post a picture of your fancy dress - sounds great! Hope Tessa has a lovely birthday on Thurs, are you going anywhere nice? You went to the aquarium last time didn't you? Is she still fish mad?
Nova, well done with the nesting, great stuff! Your party sounds fab too My first reaction to 'oh and it's fancy dress' is to groan but I know you love that kind of thing, you're way more fun than me! And I daren't tell dp about Abi, she's his future wife !
Diege, hurray, they're done! Well done woman!
Getting impatient now waiting for Chacha's news! My friend from Toddler's has got a section booked for next week and she won't tell us the date either, grrr! Spoilsport
Mumma2005, hello! You're very welcome here I have dd age 7 (Bella), ds age 4 (Joe) and dd2 (Jess) who was born 10th Oct 2005.

Had a horsey near-catastrophe earlier, turned Shadow out in the school so she could have a roll and she rolled too close to the wall and nearly got herself stuck, she got away with a few cuts but it could have easily been a broken leg, she was so lucky. It scared me to death and I keep torturing myself with thoughts of what could have happened, think I'll have a large wine later!
Tessa, yes a big meet-up would be lovely How about a park? Around early Summer? Any suggestions anyone?
Mine hasn't turned out to a quickie either!
Speak later x

BrownieBells · 20/02/2007 20:21

Hello all!! Just got back in from Brownies - and am scoffin some food before settling down to watch CSI - but just had to come on and see if Chacha had posted

Congratulations Chacha - can't wait to see pics and learn name! Lots of love and hugs to Mr Chacha and Big brother!!!Z bet everyone is thrilled - I know I am, and I;ve never met you!!!

It's the dreaded jabs tomorrow - poor T!! but I am at work, and his gradparents have to take him not sure how I managed that one!!?? Am sure he'll be fine, specially with the 3 Cs - Calpol, Cuddles & Chocolate!!

Have had to hand out sealed letters at Brownies tonight! We are taking them on camp at the end of June, and only have 12 places, but am sure more than 12 girls will want to come - so am having to do it on a first come first served (and paid!) basis - am sure there will be some disappointments...but can't be helped!?

Right am still ravenous, so need to rsid the cupboards now to find something else to eat!!

Brownie
xx

p.s. Hi [waves] to Mumma2005 - we are defo v. friendly, and a very big welcome to you. I have 1 ds, Thomas born 25.11.05.

Beksmum · 20/02/2007 21:02

Hi ya

Yay congratulations Chacha, just popped on to see if you had posted and then went hot footing it to the Y group and you tease there's nothing there Glad to hear things are going smoothly and I'm sure Z is still getting his fair share of cuddles but it is hard isn't it.

Welcome aboard Mumma2005, hope you enjoy our chatter, I've got two boys the older one will be 5 next month and the younger one will be 16 months next week.

Nova if you feel like doing any more tidying feel free to come to mine!!! The party sounds excellent and I agree great idea with the Iceland bags will have to store that one away.

Feetheart funnily enough Tex and I said how nice it would be to have another big meet up. Hope T has a great b'day on thursday, what do you have planned?

Rodeo, glad both you and the horse were ok - you definitely deserve that big glass of wine.

Can I have a proud mummy moment please. Have just been to to Ben's parents evening and he's doing really well, the teacher really likes him and she is going to stream him in with the September intake of kids as he's doing so well

Tom on the other hand is a complete handful and is driving me nuts Thankfully he'll be in his own room at the weekend as my parents have been decorating it for me today while I kept a very inquisitive Tom out of the way. Am defintiely going to need a gate to keep this one in his room at night though!!!

Right best go and let dh onto the pc, hi to everyone else, hope those of you on half term are having a fun week, we've just survived ours Beks

Rodeo · 20/02/2007 21:05

Beks, yes she is a tease! I'm desperate to know full details Well done to Ben! What a clever boy, but we all knew that already

Diege · 20/02/2007 21:33

Evening ! Congratulations CHACHA and family - excellent news, and yes, we want piccies and details!! I'm so glad the birth was so brilliant for you - looking back your pregnancy seems to have gone in a flash, though I know that's not how you felt about it .
RODEO: poor you and the horse incident, must have been really scary ; yes, deffo big glass of wine, and go on, get those lime doritoes out girl! Hi BEKS, BROWNIE, NOVA - good to hear your stories, and remind me Nova where we're up to on your pregnancy? Any news of planned dates yet?.
Welcome mama2005 , as others have said, we are a very friendly bunch, and don't worry about being the newbie, just plunge straight in! I have 3 dds, 5, 4, and 15 months .
Oh and looking forward to meet up tommorrow. See you at 10.30 (ish) TWINKLE AND GG!!!!

Rodeo · 21/02/2007 10:03

Morning! Was woken up this morning by an almighty thunder crack, thought the house was falling in! Weather looks quite nice now though - even have a few towels on the line!
Have a nice meet-up today Diege, GG & Twinkle
Brownie, hope the unlucky Brownies are ok! Only 12?! I'm sure we took some Brownies on the roof rack and in the boot of our coach in our day their must have been about 60 of us! It was great fun, even though I was usually homesick at bedtime
Oh and I've just checked Yahoo again, nothing added, hopefully she's getting lots of rest with the 2 of them tucked up in bed with her, or just the one, with the other avidly watching cbeebies
Right off to clear up the trail of mess Jess has left behind, and I'd better go and rescue Capt. Jack Sparrow, she's trying to cave his head in against the radiator.
Bye for now x

CONGRATULATIONS CHACHA AND FAMILY
so pleased that it all went well for you, looking forward to finding out name and seeing pics. Having two boys close in age will be great, Alfie and Oscar adore each other!

How scary for you rodeo with the horse, always meant to ask how you manage to still get down to the stables? do you take Jess with you are does someone look after her. I only ask as my horse has been totally abandoned since I had children, tried to keep up with it after I had Alfie but it was such a struggle. Thankfully my sister took him on for me, but would love to get back back into it one day.

Shoreline hotel was great, butlins a bit naff as to be expected but lovely to get away and Alfie loved it and hasn't stopped talking about it!

Well done Ben! you must be very proud beks. How is he sleeping now, I remember you were having problems before? obviously hasn't affected his school work though

novadandypowder · 21/02/2007 12:09

Diege - I'm 35wks today , so if I go at the same time as noo I've only got 2 weeks left , although I'm betting this lo is going to be clinging on with it's finger nail and will make me wait. They will offer an induction if my cervix is 'favourable' from 18th March, which is still only 4 weeks away, so hopefully no longer than that to wait.

DH will be pleased - as well as frantic cleaning and getting ready I can't stop shopping! I keep thinking of things that we really need lol . The nursery is now completely ready, even down to one drawer each of freshly washed girl/boy/unisex clothes. Have now turned my attentions to the living room which is now sporting some nice new cushions as the others can't be put in the washing machine and they were looking pretty yucky. I also need to get my vax spot scrubber back on the glider chair, how silly to make a cream chair that doesn't have removable covers. I didn't really notice how filthy it was until I started this play date circle and I realised how embarrassed I was about people coming in and seeing it.

twinkle1 · 21/02/2007 14:31

Congrats Chacha and family
Diege & GG thanks for a great meet up josh slept most of the way home!!! Hope scarletts lips are feeling better
Twinkle & josh

Diege · 21/02/2007 15:59

Hi TWINKLE! Glad you got back home ok, and didn't get caught up in the luchtimne traffic! Yes, next time Lowry would bo good - need a Spring shop! Scarlett was v.pleased with her vaseline, and stopped 'messing' with it when I told her you were a 'dr' (well, sort of!). Lovely to meet up with you too GG and dp! - your boys are adorable, and S is already anticipating seeing Owen again! (sorry Joe!).
NOVA: gosh, possibly only 2 weeks ; do you feel ready? Sounds like your house is anyway . Hi to everyone else! Off to pizza hit now with dds and dh as we (perhaps a little bit too enthusiastically) promised dd1 a 'treat' for getting 'Star of the week' at school. We thought (hoped) she had forgotten, but you known what LOs are like!
Oh and before I forget, just wondering if anyone knows any midwifes that might want to fill in a quesionnaire (by e-mail) for me? Have already collared TWINKLE (thanks!) and wondered if any of you have friends/family in the profession? It's part of a pilot that I'm conducting, prior to (hopefully) setting up a lareg scale project investigating health prefessionals percpetions of 'risk' in pregnancy.
Speak later!

ChaCha · 21/02/2007 16:40

Hi again,

Have managed to post a message and just two pictures to our Y group. I will post some more another time.

Nova - Thinking of you - the next few weeks will just fly in (easy for me to say that now, he hee!) and if you're up in the wee hours like i was you'll know where to find me!

Bump free ChaCha It's great!!

novadandypowder · 21/02/2007 17:48

Chacha - simply wonderful pics, you're too good to us posting within a week of a c/s with your second DS . Hope you're getting some rest, and very of you being bump free.

I suppose it's my turn to have a pink one as BoB has pink & blue and Chacha has two blue. I'm feeling very ready for this baby, Diege, very eager to get on with it.

Diege · 21/02/2007 19:34

Wow CHACHA, gorgeous piccies and lovely name . Jasmine was looking over my shoulder and commented, 'wow, he looks like...well he looks like a real boy!!!'You're so lucky! Enjoy him ! .

twinkle1 · 21/02/2007 19:50

Ohh Chacha the pics are fab it makes me very broody
twinkle

Beksmum · 21/02/2007 22:25

Ohhh Chacha he's gorgeous, what a lovely head of hair he has and that's a lovely name, liked all the choices but as you say the name seems to suit him somehow.

Nova wow can't believe you've only got a couple of weeks to go. I'm putting my money on a blue one for you too by the way I reckon it will be around Ben's b'day the 8th!

Feetheart, hope T has a great b'day tomorrow.

It was my best friends 40th today, only thing was she woke up with a stinking cold and a voice like minnie mouse, so all the plans her new hubby had made for her had to be put on hold We did mamange to get her suitably drunk while I had the kids over for tea so I think it turned out alright in the end!

Rodeo, hope that wasn't Joe dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow

Right I'm off to languish in my new shower, until Kent runs dry of water. Speak to you all soon Beks

Rodeo · 22/02/2007 11:39

Morning!
Chacha! Lovely pics, & lovely name! I have a Joseph so I would say that I wondered if you might go for that particular Z name that was one of your choices, but the name you chose is perfect. Hope you're getting lots of rest and not trying to be superwoman
Really looking forward to Nova's pink/blue news, hope it passes quickly for you, it sounds like you're ready!
Alfiesmum, ooh forgot you were horsey too! Dp is self-employed and works evenings and weekends mainly, if he does work in the day then I fit it in around that. Also she's only 2 minutes up the road so I'm pretty lucky really Shad's leg is much better today, have ridden out this morning and she can't feel it. So how long have you had your horse? And what is he like? Should maybe start a horse thread so I can stop boring everyone else!
Oh Diege, I'd better not tell Joe! How was pizza? What did she get her award for? Aww
Anyway, off for a quick bath, before Jess wakes up, speak later x

Any numpty in the room please raise your hand (nova raises hand). Despite being free every morning I decided last night would be a good time to adjust noo's car seat. So, I turned on the little light in the back of the car so I could see the iso fix points, fixed the seat and went back in very pleased with myself....until - I went to start the car this morning and the battery was flat . I'd forgotten to turn off the little light in the back of the car! Had to walk noo to nursery (well half bus, half walk) and then call out the AA - the shame . Then had to drive around for half an hour once it had been started to charge it back up properly which is not my favourite pastime during rush hour.

Then had to rush a shower and get to my waxing appt, where I promptly had a hot flush/I'm going to faint moment half way through. Thankfully the therapist often sees this with heavily pg women so wasn't too foxed, but it's sooo not a good look - legs akimbo, bits to the world holding a cold towel on your forehead.

Please let there not be a third thing, am supposed to take noo swimming now but not sure if I could take any more embarrassing moments.

BrownieBells · 22/02/2007 20:01

Oh Nova - you do make me larf! you have cheered me up no end!
Chacha - well, what can I say - simply gorgeous! It made me broody too, but still sticking to my guns and planning to wait till T is around 3 (purely selfish reasons, not sure I could cope with any more tiredness etc.!)

Well, T had an eventful day yesterday after jabs - he walked smack into a door frame and now is now sporting a nice egg sahped lump and cut on his temple! Today he went to nursery, but was sent home after a couple of hours due to having a raised temp (due to the jabs, but their policy is that if it is 38.5 they have to go home...) He seems better now, so am monitoring him, cos have bugger all childcare for tomorrow am if he still has temp (can't go if temp is not back to normal without calpol!)

There's bugger all on the telly tonight - typical, no yoga tonight (1 week break between courses!) so am at a loose end, and dh is out with his ex work colleagues for a curry....

Phew! What a week! Glad to be home (now he's stopped screaming & gone to sleep).

Congratulations ChaCha & Mr ChaCha. He's a beautiful little boy. Lovely names & great to hear that Z loves his little brother.

Diege/Twinkle, great to see you both yesterday (was it really only yesterday, seems a lot longer than that). Your LOs are all lovely, and glad you had a quiet journey Twinkle . Shopping next time...

Hiya everybody!

ChaCha · 23/02/2007 10:35

BEKS - Massive thanks
What a lovely surprise and how thoughtful to think of 'big brother' too!! He was delighted with his treats and i am really touched Am really touched at everyone's lovely messages and genuine happiness for us - you're a lovely bunch! Awww...happy hormones, lol!

Well, we have a big celebration on the 7th day of a birth so expecting lots of friends and neighbours this evening. A lamb has been slaughtered (the meat is distributed to the poor - we are doing this abroad and cooking a leg of lamb here for the meal) and then we shave Y's head (I did Z's last year and he slept through it all - must admit as much as i do not look fwd to seeing their beautiful hair go, it definitely grew back thicker and stronger with Z) and wait for the guests and just have a bit of a party. Just hoping i get to bed at a reasonable time, I seem to get very tearful when tired these days.

Both boys fast asleep - hurray! I've showered, wearing normal clothes, make up on, hair waiting to be straightened and feel great!!!!! We shall see how i feel this time tomorrow. Feel like a very new person after almost two years of pregnancy and motherhood - it's quite strange really.
Also, lack of sleep is not bothering me this time round like it did with Z - definitely different scenario.

Nova - LOL at your post!!

Hi to everyone!!! [big wave]

Londoner · 23/02/2007 12:12

Hello all,

ChaCha- beautiful beautiful beautiful boy, clever you, so wonderful to hear you had a great birth experience. Good luck with the hair shaving and celebrations, how wonderful to be feeling so fine and mother to two beautiful boys, hooray!

Nova, lol! Can't believe we can expect news of your new baby so soon! How exciting!

Hi to everyone, sorry gotta fly.....

novadandypowder · 23/02/2007 13:32

Chacha - good to hear you feeing so chipper, esp. after a c/s. Enjoy your celebrations today, what a wonderful way to welcome Y into the world . How is Z taking to being a big brother?

Well, thankfully there was no third thing, instead me and another mum from my swim class had to calm down and reassure a neurotic first time mum of an 8wk old who was getting her baby changed for the class after ours (she was runnning very late). She had oodles of bags and was making herself very stressed indeed.

Noo not very well today, had to pick her up early from nursery with a temperature. She's now in bed so I hope she feels better when she wakes up - mummy wants cheese and crackers for lunch, but we've run out of crackers so I have to wait to go out to the corner shop. Sooooo hungry.....

Londoner - I tell you, with all the niggles I've been getting I really keep expecting to go into labour any minute. Think I might be too ready and waiting for labour this time - lol!

Brownie - what did you do with your evening in the end?

BrownieBells · 23/02/2007 20:53

Hello! WEll good news on the Thomas front - he was well enough to go to nursery today (having managed to get his temp down and for it to stay down!) So all is well with the world! HAve had a letter from the nursery - apparently it's world book day next Thursday, and all the children can take their fav book and dress up as a character from it - which is fab and great, and I love reading, and am encouraging T to too - but he doesn't really have a fav book, and what on earth could I dress him as!? (typical, he goes to nursery 2 days a week - and that is one of them!!) But it is good to enter into the spirit of it I guess - the best I have come up with so far is to put him in his denim dungarees with a top and say he is the little boy from "One Bear in the Bedroom" (one of the Little touch leap pad books!) ANy other ideas gratefully received!!!

Nova - in the end, I watched some random rubbish on the telly, then went to bed and read my book for far too long (like I said, I love reading!) HAve got quite into Jodi Picoult - her books are very thought provoking and sometimes quite unexpected! Although I also love some real chicklit books too!

In fact, whilst dh is watching the World Super Bikes that he recorded earlier, I am off to do some more reading in aminute (although have to start a new book cos finished the other one now!)

Right that's it for me
Hi to all not mentioned, which, lets be honest is most of you - sorry

Brownie
