Hey all! Hi FH. Let the insurance company have it!

Well, surprisingly, I'm feeling OK. No nasty headache, yuckiness, nothing. Wow!

Have been out today to try and get some school shorts for O. That ha proven to be an ordeal. Then we walked home via a big pond/lake near us, S loved the ducks, geese & swans. Mummy loved the fluffy babies. He threw some food for them, then when he ran out, started trhowing stones. Oops. Then he tried to get in with them, becuase I wouldn't let him, he tried slyly, sitting down nicely, then inching his way forward. Little terror! Then he picked up poo! He's now asleep, wahoo! Thinking of going to soft play later, O is at a friends house after shcool so no rushing back for him. hmm, just a shame I coldn't palm this one off to someone for the day and have the day to myself . Although I'm sure if I did do that after 2 hours, I'd be clock watching & wouldn't know what to do with myself!

How is everybody doing?

GG xx

Beksmum · 07/06/2007 13:02

Hi ya

GG love your posts they made me lol, glad to hear your feeling better.

FH & Nova reckon I can get to Whipsnade for about 11:00, am aiming to leave at 9am all being well! Have to be back by 6ish as have got a market research group in the evening - anyone got any comments on TK Maxx they want to pass on, they reckon they have started a big girls range but I'm not convinced!

Diege good luck with the interview tomorrow, I'm sure you'll wow them. Meant to say how impressed I was about the book and all the other things you manage to do I'm in awe!

Update from us. T is 19mths old, he sounds like a twin for GG's S, he is full of mischief, he runs, jumps & climbs everything and throws himself off of anything and everything. He is tall & stocky and very strong. He has a passion for hitting and screaming both of which drive me nuts. He is a complete mummy's boy and will not settle for his dad. He has a pretty good vocabulary including mummy, daddy, hello, bye-bye, car, nanny, gone, and an exaggerated Noooooo which he uses all the time - grrr, plus miaow miaow for cat, grrr for tigers, lions etc, aeroplane and car noises.

Well better go and search the net for ways to make some money, otherwise it will be back to stacking shelves which I really don't fancy.

Hope everyone else is well, loving the updates by the way Beks

babyonboard · 07/06/2007 13:36

Hello all, I hope you are well!
I will catch up soon, just quick question, mainly for nova!?
Are there any great burlesque style clubs/ bars you could recommend for this weekend? Anywhere in Central or East london?

ChaCha · 07/06/2007 16:54

LOL at your posts GG, really glad that you're feeling better!

Beksmum - Have you thought of working from home? With your older one at school perhaps setting something up would be an idea? It worked for me when DS1 was little but not during second pregnancy and with two. I'd like to take it up again when things are more settled. We are in need of a second income TBH and I am still asking myself if i should work away from home or work from home hiring some help. Anyway, all that when the LO is bigger. With your history in HR you should do well Oh, and all my advertising was free with most clients using Yell.

Was the interview today Diege or tomorrow and how was work with DD?

Rodeo - sounds a good read too. I have Half of a Yellow Sun on my wish list and i think it just won an award if i heard correctly.
I read a lot of the African Writers Series books - i enjoy books on different cultures. Happy to post books out too
Would also love to start a reading circle if anyone is interested...

Hi Feetheart -

BoB - Good to see a post. Hope you get the info you're looking for.

Oh...let me share please, came down the stairs wearing something new and DS1 put his arms out, felt the material and looked at the colours and said 'nice' I was blown away...

ChaCha · 07/06/2007 16:56

Rodeo - What do i need for a camping weekend? Pls give me a list of what to get - I need to start before DH starts booking work in on weekends and the novelty wears off

novadandypowder · 07/06/2007 21:08

My goodness, there is sooo much to catch up on but no time at the mo!

BEKS 11 sounds do-able here, would like to miss the main bulk of rush hour so that sounds fine, and I would also like to be back before 6 (actually not too sure what will happen with noo and her nap, not sure if she'll sleep in the buggy )

BoB - my friend knows of a good burlesque place, I'll give her a call and find out what it's called . Below is a link for Whoppee that has a night on friday, and the volupte lounge.

BrownieBells · 07/06/2007 22:15

Hey All!

GG - glad you are feeling better - posts made me smile
didn't even know there was a series 3 of PB!? (but excellent - I get to drool over Wentworth some more!!)

Diege - fingers crossed for the interview - am sure you'll be fab....

Chacha - fab updates, the boys sound adorable (by the way, still not sure what all the personal info stuff was about - did anyone email me?)

Can I ask - what is the Kevin book? Never heard of it, and am very much a bookworm, and am now wondering if I should invest?
I have been reading lots of Jodi Picoult books recently (again, on the recommendation of Richard and Judy's book club Rodeo!) and have to say, she is a fab author, and tackles some quite controversial topics....
Other good reads have been Rise & Fall of a yummy Mummy (v good), The Baby Trail trilogy (v.v. good) and of course A Brown Owl's Guide to Life (excellent!)

Right - off to bed now, had a pants night last night, cos am full of cold and Sinus Snotty stuff!

Speak later

Brownie

Diege · 08/06/2007 08:09

Arghh!!! Interview at 10 and I am up to me eyes in snotty noses, demands for 'numberjacks' and screechy tantrums!!! Think of me at 10!!! Will post later,
Diege x

GreedyGecko · 08/06/2007 09:36

Good luck Diege. And good luck with the house too.

Brownie - I've just finished '...Yummy Mummy'. Some bits so close to home.

ChaCha - that sounds so lovely, bet that bought a tear to your eye.

Started CC last night . It worked, only 1/2 hour and he was asleep, I just hope DP can keep it up the next 3 nights otherwise I'll be back to square 1 on Monday. I've written instructions & times for him, and have instructed him that if he can't handle the screaming, to go outside 'til its time to go up. I think startting CC is a good sign that I am definately feeling better, if I'd attempted it 2 weeks ago, I'd have been a quivering wreck after the first few miinutes. And S doesn't seem to hate me for it.

Well I suppose I'd better phone Thomson and let them clear out my bank account, got to pay the Disney balance today. Hoohoo, so excited .

Have a good day people.

feetheart · 08/06/2007 11:49

ChaCha - just about to go swimming but I have a list of what we take camping that I can send you. It might seem a bit daunting but we have been doing it for years and so have lots of stuff! We can fit it all (+ 2 children) into a Picasso with room to see over the top though!

BrownieBells · 08/06/2007 20:29

Diege - how did it go.......hope all snotty noses and so on are not getting you down?

Had a bit of an incident at nursery today - T has been bitten by one of the other children the staff told me about it, and I signed the form, and they said that they would be speaking to the parents of the biting child - not much I can do really - but the poor lamb has a nasty imprint of the biters teeth on his forearm and think it will leave a nasty bruise.....Have to say, I did wipe it with dettol when we got home (just incase - does that make me neurotic?)

Have to go into work tomorrow to do a few hours overtime - testing the migration of our electronic exam system (yawn!) it's going to take around 3-4 hours, which is a pain in the neck - but should earn a few bob from it (time and a half!) so me and dh will be going out for a nice slap up meal at some point with a fab bottle of rose, on me!!

Hope everyone else is ok and well - weather is still pretty nice, so hopeful of a pleasant weekend.

Brownie

Rodeo · 08/06/2007 21:04

Hi all,
just a quick one before tea
Brownie, poor T Biting is so awful, it's just a instant reaction from some toddlers - I've been on both sides, Bella went through a short stage of it and it was horrible and Joe got badly bitten at a softplay place on his back, so painful. Hope he recovers quickly and it doesn't happen again.
Diege - hope it went brilliantly! Got my fingers crossed for you! Oh and Katie didn't get fired did she (I wasn't watching properly ) Never mind! Did see that blonde scottish woman on the aftershow programme tearing strips off her though, bit bitchy I thought! Agree about Ziggy too
GG, glad you're feeling better, LOL at other night, you sound a lot more like your old self (not that you were a raging drunkard before YKWIM!)
Chacha, will work on a list for you tonight and e-mail it to you via Yahoo. What a charmer Z is BTW, you'll be having girls knocking for him in 10 years
Hi Beks BOB Feety & Nova, enjoy your weekends all, dp's byriani awaits, so speak tomorrow/later x x x

Busybean · 08/06/2007 22:56

Hi ladies, you might remember me(busyalexsmumy) saw chacha on another board and she wanted an update so just nipped on quick to let u know what Im up to...

Ive finally finished my access course today after 10 months of long hard slog, its been really good and Ive met some great new friends, but it certainly wasnt easy!

This year started off a bit strange, my father came back from a holiday over xmas in spain and died suddenly of a heart attack on the 3rd of jan so that was a massive shock-he was 69

I then had a lot of stress with university interviews and a overload of college work, I had an interview at bournemouth the week after dad died and suffice to day i didnt have my mind on the job and forgot to take my ed certs with me so didnt get the place(although to be fair there were only 6 degree places on offer and they interviewed about 160 people...)

I then had an interview at UWE, which i felt went really well but unfortunately i found out 4 weeks later I had not got in

In mid march I had a pack through the post with a letter from plymouth offerring me a place! couldnt beleive it!

Since then its been up and down all the way, Ive had assignments coming at me left right and centre, confusion over marks and entry conditions and nightmares with childcare...and to top that off i had a friend(a yr younger than me-21) die at the beginning of may....so its been really strange 2007 so far...

Now slowly its all coming together, ive passed my access course with more credits than i need, ive managed to find a way of keeping the children on at the fab nursery they attend and ive found a childminder who'll have them from 6.30am!

Ive just got my driving test to pass now(in two weeks) and then some dry runs down to plymouth as it'll be 100miles each way ahhhh!

other than that, everythings pretty normal....! alfies running and starting to talk alot more now. hes such a climber- you cant turn your back more than two seconds and hes off scaling a bookcase, windowsill etc etc....!!
The boys are getting on alot better now and were trying to arrange a family holiday next yr so that weve got something to look forward to(after slogging it down to uni every day! ) lol

I really wish I had time to come on and catch up on what everyones up to but Im just so so busy and its just going to get worse come september!

I hope you are all well and all your LO's are good- chacha, rodeo, nova, twinkle, beksmum, londoner and diege...........and everyone else I havent mentioned....take care xx L

ChaCha · 08/06/2007 23:12

BusyBean - I'm really sorry to hear about both your father and friend No wonder we haven't heard much from you, on top of bereavement you've had all that hard work as well - well done! What an achievement, and good luck with your driving test

Thanks FH and Rodeo for lists, they will come in very useful although we are now very seriously considering Turkey as DH now thinks DS2 is too young for camping - like he's not too young to fly to Turkey Camping will be something we'll be doing a lot of in the future if not this year so I will have to start getting things when i see them at good prices. I saw a campsite on that website Rodeo that has but 5 pitches and Tipis - luxury ones They are soooooo lush. Pembrokeshire.

Brownie - Oh no!! Poor T! Do you remember my post months back when DS1 was pushed by a kid in the drop in? I was in tears on the way home... lol.

I am supposed to be sulking so better go and sulk....night night all x

feetheart · 09/06/2007 09:53

ROFL at you having to go and sulk ChaCha
I'll send our camping list via Yahoo as well.
DS2 is NOT too young for camping, we took T for the first time at 5mths, then at 6mths, then at 7 mths! They were the easiest trips we have done because she wasn't mobile!! You will have your work cut out keeping an eye on Z, at least Y will stay in one place!!

Busybean - (I was Tessasmum in a past life!) fantastic to hear from you but so sorry that you have had to deal with so much bereavemant. Well done on the Uni place (and even better on sorting out the childcare-6.30am, that is impressive!) and good luck with the driving test. Make sure you make the time to look after yourself whilst you live up to your posting name! Update us when you can, its lovely to catch up.

Better go and satr the day now!

Diege · 09/06/2007 11:43

Morning! I'm on day two of a nightmare migraine, but wanted to thanks everyone for the good wishes re: my interview . It was very stressful, with lots of difficult questions, and I didn't half 'go on' , but hey it's over! I'll hear back end of next week apparently, which will be strange as I'm over there for a 3 day conference, with the people who interviewed me; will be very odd not to ask!
Hi to all, and to BAM!!! Wow, what a story, and so good to hear things are going well (though for your losses).
Speak later!

twinkle1 · 09/06/2007 17:02

twinkle

Diege · 10/06/2007 09:37

Hi TWINKLE! Headache gone now thanks, albeit replaced by extreme tiredness - dh and dds 1&2 camping in friend's back garden, so having to cope with early start without my usual lie-in. Why is our house the one that rowing couples always choose to stand outside at 2.25 in the morning .Took L ages to get back to sleep too! Right, rant over ! Montreal sounds great TWINKLE - is it all of you, or just you/dh? Bet you'll be pleased to have dh back .
Not sure when they'll arrive back this morning, so am going to make the most of a bit of time with me and L and take a walk down to the shops without the buggy; she is fascinated by the glass in shop windows; I suppose from a buggy perspective it seems quite odd!
Speak later! (oh and RODEO, Ziggy is mine !! You are welcome to either of the other two!

novadandypowder · 10/06/2007 10:45

Just a quickie - I'm not going to be able to make it to Whipsnade tomorrow. Noo has tonsilitus (sp?) and the antibiotics she's on for it have given her a very runny tummy (this resulted in poo all over my brand new Phil & Teds sport yesterday). Don't think it's wise to take her out really, apologies ladies.

twinkle1 · 10/06/2007 11:04

Diege
Its me and my mum off to canada,DH is child minding
twinkle

Diege · 10/06/2007 15:03

Oh wow TWINKLE I am soooo jealous . Have a wondeful time!

Beksmum · 10/06/2007 20:09

Oh Nova, poor Noo ( and you), hope she feels better soon, T had swollen tonsils 2 weeks ago and it's a nightmare for them. Eek at the poo situation, still at least the buggy has been christened now Hope we can meet up sometime soon.

Twinkle hope you have a really great time.

Diege you are soooo much nicer than me, I would have lent out the window and told them very unpolitely to move on, or asked them if they fancied coming in and settling my lo for me or failing that to let me have their address and I'd be outside theirs as soon as she woke up screaming in the morning!!!

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend, we went out and bought and aquarium today, can't wait to fill it with fish, but the problem is we've said B has to get through a week without tantruming first, so I could be waiting a few years the way he's behaving at the moment

Right best go as the pair of them are driving me nuts even though they are in bed.

Love to all Beks

novadandypowder · 10/06/2007 21:06

The funny thing is that before we realised she was leaking poo she had been riding on DH's shoulders [yuk emoticon]!!

Sorry, I haven't had any time to catch up with all your news, I don't know where the days go - noo lets the whole world know when she's poorly (must get that from DH ), and miniman only has 20 min power naps during the day so I don't even have that luxury (although he is a DREAM at night so I'm not complaining).

Hope everyone is doing ok, and will hopefully find the time to do an update soon.

ooohh just remembered one nice update, it was our 3rd wedding anniversary last tuesday and DH took me out for dinner, and because the 3rd is represented by leather I got a gorgeous Prada handbag!!

Rodeo · 10/06/2007 23:05

Evening!
Have a huge clear-out this weekend, black bags galore! Dp has done the shed (aka dumping ground), all gone in the skip! Have masses of bags for charo, and a few things I'm going to try and sell on ebay, fingers crossed!
Had a bit of shocking news earlier - the lane where the horses are kept has collapsed (there's a lot of old alabaster mines round here) we only drove our huge horsebox along it today!! I'm going to have to find an alternative route over the fields and through the woods for the foreseeable future!
Anyway back to everyone elses news....
Busybean (LOVE the name change!) so sorry to hear about your dad and friend you've done amazingly well to get your studies done and your course and childcare in order - I am in awe!
Beks, LOL at filling aquarium after a tantrum free week Joe is terrible at the moment too, a red mist just descends on him at the slightest mishap - which is always somebody else's fault(!). Let's pray they grow out of it soon!
Nova, hope Noo gets better soon, and dh - how is 'poo-shoulders'? And a yahoo pic of the handbag would be great!
Diege, PMSL at 'take your pick from the other two' Thanks
Chacha/Feety - I did my list in bed yesterday morning but it is on the side in case I've missed something! I'll post soon! Feety could I have your list too so I can cross reference?!
Twinkle, have a fab time in Canada!
Speak tomorrow x x x

OP posts:
feetheart · 11/06/2007 21:24

BEKS - thanks for a lovely day out, a perfect way to spend a Monday
Sorry you couldn't make it Nova (I really hope the poo situation is under control) but there are plans to do it again in the Summer. The invite is for anyone else as well - go on ChaCha, you know you want to!
All of BEKS' brood (T, B plus a friend) were perfectly behaved and I'm sure he must have earned a few fish!! A hadn't slept at all before we got there (NOT a good thing!) but he loved all the company (and T's chips!) and only managed to add one bruise to his collection! He lasted really well considering but was out like a light within 3 minutes of leaving the zoo!
A few pictures will follow.

Rodeo - I will send the list asap

Will try and catch up tomorrow.
