Evening,

Nova nothing you need to know, having thought about it, both of your lo's should sleep most of the way there shouldn't they. It will be really great to see you all and really looking forward to meeting miniman.

Think I'll be bringing B's bestfriend with me to keep him occupied, always good fun as they either love each other or hate each other!!!

Was it something I said? I've come back and now everyone else has gone awol

Feeling absolutely shattered tonight as B has got three parties this weekend, two down one more to go and after each one he has been a complete nightmare. Still back to school on monday - hooray!

Hope everyone enjoyed the lovely weather today, have a great weekend all Beks

novadandypowder · 03/06/2007 15:29

I think everyone is probably suffering from end of half term-itis BEKS, and/or enjoying the random sun even though it said it would rain . Supposed to be at a BBQ now but miniman has decided to sleep, ho hum.

Diege · 03/06/2007 19:00

Hello!!! I'm here . We have another week of half term to go; not sure why- think they go back a week earlier in autumn, sure it must balance out! I have tommorrow with dd1, then in work all week (interview Friday!) then away at Conference in the place where I'm having the interview until the following Thursday - looking forward to relaxing whenit's all done! Good to hear from you BEKS,NOVA, and everyone else who's posted, and hi to readers! Don't envy 3 parties scenario BEKS ; I suppose they make the time go iyswim, but bet you're feeling frazzled! We just had the one today that dh took the two older ones to, so quite a quiet-ish day.
Oh no NOVA did you miss thr BBQ? I would have been secretly pleased as I can't stand them - all that hanging around for...well normally nothing more than a roll and salad for a veggie . Hope everyone is well.
Time for monthly updates?

ChaCha · 03/06/2007 19:51

Beks, it's great to see you post again, you were missed Feetheart - Also LOL at smugness in rain, sounds like you had a good time though, Is A better now? How's T? What's the latest?

Hi to everyone else, Rodeo, Diege, L&S, Nova, BB etc.. Hope you are all enjoying this lovely sunshine.

We spent a few hours in Regents Park yesterday, DS1's first time in a sandpit, couldn't get him out. Loved running after pigeons ('ducks') and gatecrashing neighbouring picnicers making 'yummy' noises and making himself welcome I enjoyed lying with DS2 for some of the time and just reading a book. Loved being in London again, love the diversity - so miss being there sometimes. You Londoners are very lucky!

Update: DS1 18 months old today. Can say: duck, cat, pig (eek eek instead of oink oink), dance, all done, no, oooh no, yeah, not nice, where, what, night night and a few others. Puts on sandals unaided with heels sticking out, wears all our shoes, loves outside - wants to walk everywhere, over dramatic - everything is a big deal (looks at books with big 'ooooh noooo's, eyes wide and gestures what with hand etc..) and that's about it.
DS2 has to be in on everything these days. You can't leave him for a minute.

Hope the good weather continues, is so uplifting. Campers/Caravaners please let me know of possible holiday places for late summer. Point me in the right direction pls. What are your thoughts on caravans and motorhomes? Something i used to turn my nose up at TBH, DH loves all this and i'm beginning to see why.

Talk soon x

Diege · 04/06/2007 08:08

Morning! Great update CHACHA, have vivid picture of Z and his books in my m ind now - so sweet . I'd say def. try the caravan option. We've been a few tomes to caravan sites, but only when we had dd1. The only 'downsides' were trying to keep on top of the clutter(a tent pitched next to caravan so we could dump wet/sandy things was a godsend) though be prepared fro how the temperature drops at night!
Right, L's update. Increasingly determined, with temper tantrums starting to increase. Like walking back home from village, though doesn't like hand holding so must invest in some reins! Vocab getting better: now we have mummy, daddy, juice, nooooo, helooooo, bar!!! (meaning 'boo'!)and the usual boiling kettle noises! A very happy little girl who is still very much daddy's girl (calls out for him at 6am so I'm not complaining ).
Right, best get that coffee!

novadandypowder · 04/06/2007 10:40

Didn't get to the BBQ in the end as miniman slpet for agggggeeees and then noo had another nap. It was only us who were invited Diege, it was at our friends who live around the corner and we think they wanted to announce an engagment to us. We've been expecting it for a while.

Rodeo · 04/06/2007 11:01

Morning!
Hoe everyone had a nice sunny weekend We went on a mammoth bike ride yesterday, it was only meant to be a small one with only B & J on bikes and us walking, but dp decided it would be much more fun to hire some bikes Jess went in one of those cool pull along buggy things, which she wasn't impressed about at first! We went way to far and Joe ended up with Jess in the buggy and dp had to attach Joe's bike to the rucksack he was wearing! Bella did fab though with only a few 'tired leg/achey back' complaints, she also managed to find and pick up a dead rabbit with myxomatosis and it's back end hanging off - 'I only wanted to see it's face' she said!
Lovely updates Diege & Chacha Love L calling for daddy in the morning, how cute! And her not hand holding
And Z with his OTT expressions Can easily picture them both.
Chacha, Go on try it! You know you want to Go on a weekend dummy run though maybe first, and make a comprehensive list! Are wise, I love coastal Wales, I go on a campsite website to find good places, I cank do a link if you're interested. Diege is right about clutter! We always risk looking like hobos and take our clothes in black bin bags, so they're a) protected from the any leakages in the tent or b) easily rolled away in a caravan and c) can store dirty laundry til you get to a laundrette/go home d) and can squash into the boot/footwell if space is tight.
Right update...
Jess loves walking too especially if B & J are with her, her speech has really come on this last month, Mummy (Memmeee) Dad, Bella (Beba), Joe (doo), Nana, Dave Lau-Lau, Paul, Harry (Ah-ee), me, Bye, cat, doggy, gone, cracker, cheese, choc-choc, one, two, Dora, Backpack, Boots, Swiper (Yes still Dora obsessed) And still animal obsessed - can make the sounds and actions of a tiger, snake, elephant, monkey dog & cat (Thanks to Bella's intense training system!) Hasn't mastered No yet though - just eeeaaahhhh and a frown! Loves climbing and being outside, generally just leave her to it now, if she falls she falls, but she's pretty bruise-free usually. Has a knack for finding the most unsuitable playthings (scissors, screwdrivers..) Friend commented on me letting her play with a butter knife the other day
Phew, that was a long one! Sorry! Speak later - I'm off to enjoy the post half term silence (J's napping) Might put This Morning on. Ooh the decadence

Rodeo · 04/06/2007 11:08

Hi Nova, oops on BBQ announcement, never mind Baby's need they're sleep! I don't really like 'announcements', my instant reply is usually 'Oh' or 'Really?' and then 'Well congratulations anyway' about 5 minutes later. I obviously must work on this.

Hello All! Great to read updates, they all sound so adorable (just watched about 10 mins of some random baby programme, and have to admit to feelings of broodiness!!!??? )

Our update:
T is a little over 18 months now, loves to rund & walk, although when he's had enough, he just stops dead in his tracks and holds his arms up!! Also loves to be outside, usually in some water, or mud, or generally just lobbing the stones from one area of the garden to another!! (much to daddy's annoyance! - me, I just let him get on with it!!!!!) He is very sure footed, and is very cute when "feeling" his way down steps with his feet He loves lorries, diggers, vans and so on - and shouts really loudly when he sees one His vocab is coming on leaps and bounds and words now include: Here it is (and there it is) bye bye, ta, tractor, digger, gate, biscuit, yogurt, to list but a few (the rest are not clearly distinguishable, but I know what he means!!!) he also shakes his head for No, and Nods his head for yes.
He doesn't say Mummy or Daddy, but knows who we are (thank goodness!) and can also recognise all family members from a photo (even my Grandad who is now in Heaven)
He is truly a joy to be around and we have lots of fun (even if he does wear me out!!!! )

The weather has been glorious - please let it be dry for Brownie camp at the end of the month!!!! Have just received the artwork for the tee-shirts I am getting printed for the Brownies - I know this is sad - but they look stunning!!!! I can't wait to see them in the flesh/fabric!!

Right - sorry for the mammoth epic-esque post!? I am off to surf the tinterweb!

Anyone else been keeping up with Prison Break? Gosh its fab - and its almost the season finale!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see how it will end - but alas and alack - there will be no more Wentworth Miller

Brownie

ChaCha · 04/06/2007 21:39

I do enjoy reading the toddler updates, they are great Too many to mention but they all had me grinning, laughing or 'awwww'ing. Lovely! How about some pics?

Have spent all day on the sofa with awful AF, have been sick and almost passed out, thankfully my dad was around - need to be taking iron again and the codeine that i found stashed away from hossie days was probably not a good idea but i did have a very good sleep. Back to the sofa for me, feeling lousy.

p.s. Would have loved to have made the meet up but realistically cannot see me lugging the double pram on bus, holding DS1's hand and baby in sling with massive bag - recipe for stress i think. Would have been great though

Night night all x

p.s. Rodeo, link please! That would be fab.

Is there anybody there?!
Well I started my running last night, managed to jog most of the 2 miles but feel a bit achey today! have signed up to do a Race for Life in a few weeks so no backing out now!
Anybody succombed to BB yet, Diege, Nova? Any first thoughts on housemates? Quite like Vicky, but really don't like Emily! Trying not to get into it at this early stage but feel it may be inevitable
Off to see the neds now so speak later (even if it is only to myself, sniff) x

ChaCha · 06/06/2007 13:03

Hi Rodders,

I'm here but don't fancy chatting to myself, do plenty of that in RL We're at home today pottering around, gave DS1 a box of empty tubs/bottles/cartons and he's been sat loading/unloading, playing with them for ages so have been lying on sofa feeding DS2 and reading a book - bliss! It's nearing nap time here so think i'll join them, lazy cow that i am

DS1 is the only one that appreciates my cooking. He has just eaten my cinnamon lamb with houmous for lunch He makes my day!

Back later Rodeo x

Diege · 06/06/2007 13:33

Hi!! Having one of those 'how long till bedtime' days, with all 3 dds off (still blasted half-term)and arging with each other constantly!! Arghhh!!! Half way through, although dh is going out straight from work, so think a auper early bedtime for all 3 is in order .
Good on you RODEO for your running - it's a great sport, and really addictive (though lost my addiciton a long time ago, lol). Yes, I am into BB [grin} (sorry chacha!); think it's better now that they seem to have returned to (raltively) normal people. Agree, not too keen on Emily (hairstraightener-gate is just bizarre!) but do like Laura. Charlee is so 'Catherine Tate 'Lauren', sure she will be first out . CHACHA: sounds a blissful morning..my chicken stir fry was rejected by 2 out of 3, so it's back to fish fingers tonight .
Well, for sale boards have gone up on our house, so hopefully we'll be moving soon!
Speak later! Will evening ever arrive?

ChaCha · 06/06/2007 16:43

LOL Diege I was looking at a pic of my friend's kids aged 3 and 4 and reading her updates on them - is a whole new ball game when they can actually communicate! God help me. DH's friend has just gone through a divorce so sometimes stays over with his three DDs aged 11, 9 and 7 - they are a great help with my two but do they ever shut up?! They spent ages on the net learning lyrics to some song (one that i have never heard of course) so that they could sing it at school (remember Smash Hits anyone? Gone are those days it seems) and talking about middle sister's crush on older boy. I want a girl!!! Shopping for friend's DD aged 6 last week and it was such fun - i so couldn't decide on what to get ended up wanting to bring everything back. Maybe a good thing that i don't have one then..

Hope you had a good afternoon Rodeo and forgot to mention well done on the running. Good for you. I'm off to put the chicken in and read.

Taaara

Diege · 06/06/2007 17:07

Hi CHACHA! Well, we are back from the park (you're right, the talking never stops - bickering about who would go first up the slide and now waiting for the tea to cook...then bed!!! I am now frantically turning my attention to interview preparation for Friday - feeling very, very nervous, but know I have to give it my best shot! Have to take dd to work with me tommorrow (long story) so hope I can get it all done!
By the way CHACHA what are you reading? I get through about a book a week, but am always looking for new reads! (oh and I do remember Smash hits sadly, along with my belived 'Jackie' and 'Girl!')

Rodeo · 06/06/2007 17:52

Hello you two!
Are they in bed yet Diege?! I've got the bath running already It's so easier to get them to bed early when dp's not here, is it the same at yours? Good luck with your interview - even the thought of them give me the shivers! LOL at hairstraightener-gate
Chacha, glad you've enjoyed your 'lazy' day And Cinnamon Lamb sounds gorgeous! You might have to share that recipe!
And please don't be impressed on the 'running'. Snail's pace jogging - barely faster than a slow walk - is more like it!

OP posts:
Diege · 06/06/2007 18:26

RODEO, almost there, almost...Pjs on check, milk, check...just waiting on L to do a 'tricky poo' (as dd2 puts it ), god how inconsiderate!!She's grunting away in the corner, but it could easily be another 20 mins... Kniow EXACTLY what you mean agout bedtimes without dh - I run the day with military precision, sometimes getting them in bed a good hour early, and the house is pretty tidy (well, you know...) as I tidy up as I go along..
Right, I think it's out, so best go lest my schedule gets disrupted...

ChaCha · 06/06/2007 18:51

No chance of early bedtimes here - DS2 sleeps between 9.30 and 10.30pm but is a little angel and sleeps right through. DS1 a little earlier but this is because of afternoon naps i'm sure. The Tumble Tots DVD has become a ritual after bathtime as it tires him out and has him fast asleep soon after. With you both on absence of the other half - lol

Fingers crossed for interview Diege, keep us posted.

Currently reading 'The Saffron Kitchen' by Yasmine Crowther, set between Iran and London - have 'The Kite Runner' lined up for the weekend and must get onto Amazon for 'We need to talk about Kevin' book - have been meaning to get it for ages. What about you?

Diege · 06/06/2007 20:11

Sounds like you have a pretty good bedtime routine going there CHACHA! I have the Kevin book so will try and hunt it out and pop in post for you; it's v.good Hadn't heard of the books you're reading at the moment, but might try them if you recommend? I read all sorts, but my favourite author has to be Maeve Binchy. I also like Sohie Kinsella's 'shopaholic' series, and have just finished 'shopaholic and baby'. Another favouroite is Victoria Hislop's 'The Island' - I'd recommend that to anyone; even dh was hooked! My guilty secret is Martina Cole books reading the Graft at the moment - not one of her best!.
Right, dds in bed, think I might put interview prep off till tommorrow; at least it will be fresh in my mind! Had forgotten the Apprentice is on,and it's the one where they are interviewed, so might be able to pick up some tips, lol!

Rodeo · 06/06/2007 22:24

Oh I'd love a good book at the mo, might try The Island Diege I've heard of The Saffron Kitchen too. I like the look of Cloud Atlas - I'm drawn to it's cover! The last great book I read was Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon(?). Sounds poncey I know, I only got it because it was a Richard and Judy book club book But it was really really good! At the mo I'm re-reading Potter 6, in preparation for Potter 7 Roll on July 21! There's a book club section on here, maybe we should lurk!
PS. Can't believe Katie has been fired!

OP posts:
Diege · 06/06/2007 23:12

Ooh that Katie...think it might have been a 'game plan' as Nick says...my money's on Christina. Oh and think I am developing the teeniest crush on Ziggy

GreedyGecko · 07/06/2007 00:36

Hiya!

Feels like ages since I've been on. Should apologise now for spelling etc. I'm driunk! It was poo out, dead quiet, does anyone know what a 'Chelsae clip' is? I though the sign said 'Chelsea cap', couldn't quite figure how wearing footy clothes would keep you safe. .

Watching Girls Alpoud that I've got ssaved, Oh I love them, they are FAB, can'yt wait to see them again.

ADs are (finally) kicking in, hence drunen rweambling shere!). Beenm deeling [retty bleeurgh this last week, even had to phone in sick, which i NEVRE do.

Good luck wioth INterview on Fri (ooh, it's midnight, so tomorrow), Diege. I fear this may become a loooooong one!

Update: S is 19mths old tomorrow. He's a little monkey! Always laughing, climbing, generally being a little Mr Mischief! He doens't say much, just; mummma (in a relly irritating screechy, crow type of way), dadda (daddy0, and daadaa (O), uh-oh, bubu (baby), and thats it. He makes sounds for; alligator, duck, cat, dog, cow, sheep, train (with action), aeroplanre. He had his hospital sppt yesterday, and (wahoo) we saw an army doctor, was I pleased about that, and he'll be having the circumscion as soon as he turns 2. I will be sooooo pleased to get him out of that pain. . He's really good at telling me when he needs a wee or poo, but WILL NOT sit on potty/toilet to do it. However, will sit on them for hours whe he doesn't . Don't aks about sllep times, we really don't want to go there!

I've got the 'Kevin' book. Thsat's going to be my next read, am currently reading chris Moyles' autobiography. I've really got into autobiographys lately, my fave is Frank Skinner, but I love everything he does, he's just soooo funny! HAve also got Gordon Ramsey & Matt Goss ones to read. Am also a fan of Martina Cole. Refused to buy her books to start with because of her name (grew up wanting to smack people who mentioned tennis to me, grrr), but eventually succumbed, and I do like her.

HooHoo, just diowenlaodiung GA megamix for my ringtone, I am obsessed!

Hmmm, can't remember what else I was going to say......there was loads. Oh yeah! We have flooded the street with a hippo bag, our conservatiry was flooded by outr leaking blimming boiler , boy will I be claiming for the repiars needed, oyur kitchen floors going mouldy from a leak we can't find. S flooded my mobile, so now have a cool dnew one, but having loads of probs getting lal my numbers off my old sim. S hs a huuuge black eye, will try and post pics on Y group later. He tripped over some grass & hit his face on a picninc table, had a bit of a cuddle, then carried on being his usual boisterous self.

I'm certainly feeling more normal now, which i'm really happy about, can handle S a bit better ( or at elast not let his behavouopr get to me as much (wsas srriosuly considereing tiny treraways for him)).

Oh Btownie, have yo useen that Sky have Prison Break for season 3. No surpsires there then!

Again I apologise for por spellng, grammar,m humungous poist etc. [b;ush]

See Ya. I'll try to get on more often xx

GreedyGecko · 07/06/2007 00:41
  • Beenm deeling [retty bleeurgh = been Feeling pretty ... I havr def not been dealing anything.

Am I goninbg to be looking crap in the playground tomorrow morning!

feetheart · 07/06/2007 07:18

GG - hope the hangover isn't too bad. Your posts made me giggle. Really glad the ADs are starting to work and things are beginning to feel better.
at all the flooding. Our washing machine leaked in Sept/Oct and the company employed by the insurance company to manage the claim has been APPALLING, hence the final bit is only being sorted out today, and that is because we complained about the quality of what they did before and insisted that it was re-done. I have a stonking letter of complaint in my head, I just hope I can get the full range of my wrath down on paper

LOL at bedtime precision Diege - I have been out the last 2 nights (nothing special - a hospital visit to a friend and rent collection) and DH has been in charge. Usually we do it together and it is quite a slick operation. Its a bit more ragged when I do it on my own!

I really must stretch my reading habit again. I read before I go to sleep and have found that anything too interesting keeps me awake so I have been re-reading Terry Pratchetts forever - not that they're not interesting but I've read them so often that they are comfortable! Am intending on joining you on the HP though Rodeo for exactly the same reason!

Better go and start the morning routine.
Have a good day everyone.
