Morning. We had a bit of a crazy night, for us. After two nights with one feed at 330am she woke up at 11.40pm and 2.50am. So I'm feeling a bit perplexed and tired. She is napping now though!

Good on rolling S furry. My S is yet to roll, it's our daily excitement - will she do it! I've cracked and ordered a bumbo...I always thought they were a waste of money but she's dying to sit up and do stuff and the bouncy chairs don't have trays. I'll sell it on in about two weeks I'm sure!!

I want a bumbo, or the mamas and papas equivalent... There's an nct nearly new sale we may go to on sat, what do you think my chances are of finding one? When can you use them, when they can hold their heads up?

laurenamium · 19/03/2015 14:40

I'm not sure about when you can use bumbos. Is it when they won't flop forward?

Me and DP dtd last night sleepily and now I'm half panicking. I can't get pregnant yet can I? Expressing and 12 days after having Isaac? I need to organise a coil to be put back in but I'm spending my whole days at Neonatal!

willywallace · 19/03/2015 15:47

I think you're alright for 3 weeks Lauren?

We had a seat that you could use like a bumbo but also could clip a toy tray round it or use it as a chair at the dinner table when a bit bigger. It got loads of use.

Minion · 19/03/2015 16:00

Afternoon ladies. Been out with the post natal women seeing as it's lush weather. Getting the hang of this mat leave malarkey.
I may have just had a eureka moment. R always gets a bit pissy around now so we've come upstairs to her nursery and sat in the chair, she's hugging bunny and meltdown has been avoided.. It can't be that easy surely? If so, I'm bringing my books up..
Ooh Lauren im so hoping this means you'll all be home together soon.

We've a bumbo, yes it's when head is no longer floppy apparently. Weirdly there's no instructions on it.

Been invited to a weaning class next month, Def going as again we're on a hunger strike. But I think this may be a cold as she has stuff running out her nose earlier.
Great
A cold
Again. (apparently to to ten in the first year alone)

willywallace · 19/03/2015 17:39

Lauren a few people on the grads thread have been asking for you recently.

This one is conked out after injections.

RPopz · 19/03/2015 18:04

After 12 days Lauren?? Bloody hell, I'm cracking on for 12 weeks here... DH is probably climbing the walls Grin Did you have a section?

We've got a bumbo - handmedown from SIL. Put DS in it for first time last night and he's 11 weeks. Think they have to have decent head control first, and only go in it for short periods. I never realised we could use it so early - someone from my January club told me last week!

RPopz · 19/03/2015 18:05

How did she get on with the jabs wil? DS was fine at the time but inconsolable in the eve Sad

laurenamium · 19/03/2015 19:49

popz yes I had a section so no broken ladybits Smile I waited about 4 months after having DD!

Oops ill head over to grads, that ones harder to keep up with!

willywallace · 19/03/2015 21:53

Jeez you're keen Lauren Grin

Exactly like that Popz. Woke up about half five and has screamed or puked since. I'm having a half hour break upstairs.

RPopz · 19/03/2015 21:55

CALPOL

ZylaB · 20/03/2015 02:13

Looks like we're going back to the docs tomorrow morning. I think the gaviscon is working with regards to her reflux, but it's made her consipated, no poo in over 24 hours, and she was doing 5 or 6 a day before the gaviscon. She's now screaming, not from reflux I think but straining to dump with nothing coming out, poor love. What's the next step, ranitidine?

willywallace · 20/03/2015 06:27

Tried Popz but she puked it up. However she eventually settled and then slept for almost seven hours??!!! Might actually get injections every day if that's the result.

Usually zyla although they might want to wait a bit longer and suggest other things for constipation. I'm not sure it works if you eat lots of fruit and veg? Or try warm bath, tummy massage or bicycling the legs?

FurryScoob · 20/03/2015 07:10

Doh, never post on MN that your baby sleeps because the next night they don't! Skyla's been thrashing round like a Tasmanian devil all night, finally gave in & put her in our bed & she woke up at 5.30. Now I'm wide awake shes happily snoozing back in her cotSad I'm off to enjoy a bagel while I have 2 free hands to eat with.

willywallace · 20/03/2015 07:15

Oh. Balls. That's me screwed for tomorrow then. Although probably not great that I've been awake since 5.45 and feel like I've had a lie in anyway.

TheBooMonster · 20/03/2015 07:31

On the topic of bumbo's, the original ones don't have harnesses and the new ones do, if you contact their customer services folk through the website they'll send you a free conversion kit to put a harness in (they really do need the harness, especially if like DD was they're a wiggle bum!)

I'll be joining you lovely viroids this weekend, hope you and the babies are all well!

ZylaB · 20/03/2015 08:02

Yay boo!!

H is managing 2 hours between feeds at night now, same as before..but for the last 2 nights I've been able to put her down in the cot and she'll go back to sleep, yay for improvements. So I've had loads of sleep by the standards of my last 8 weeks (2 and a half in hospital, then 5 and a half with baby!)

wil we tried the bath, tummy massage and bicycling her legs. Don't think it helped, but we tried it, and both DH and I badly sang Queen's 'I want to ride my bicycle' to her while doing it lol

willywallace · 20/03/2015 08:27

Yeah it's never worked for me either but some people say it does!

Hurrah Boo, see you soon!

laurenamium · 20/03/2015 08:34

Yay boo! See you soon Grin hopefully pis will be with us soon too!

I'm currently sat being daisy, expressing in the hospital. I think they are letting us bath Isaac today Smile

Minion · 20/03/2015 08:48

Awww the first bath! R HATED it! We took pictures it was so funny.
Thankfully she's into it now tho.
Hi boo, we'll see you soon and pis if you're reading this,,, we've got the pom poms out.
Urgh second lot of injections next Friday for us. She did sleep like a boss after it tho, so that'll be nice again hopefully.

I'm finally getting better at Reading baby signals to stop her getting overloaded. Managed to divert 4 (4!) meltdowns. I may be finally getting to grips with this shiz!

What's everyone's weekends plans?

laurenamium · 20/03/2015 09:41

Hopefully escaping hospital Grin DD is sleeping out tonight so I'm going to try and maybe go for a pub tea with DP near the hospital in between Isaacs feeds. Hopefully our last date night in a while Grin

cookielove · 20/03/2015 10:26

To help E's constipation I gave him 1 part prune juice to 2 parts water! Use to work a treat!

E has another cold one after the frigging after! He had a dodgy start to bed last night went down at 7 woke up 45 mins later, back down at 9:30, woke up at 4 quick bottle and back in bed at 4:15, then woke at 7!

Nessalina · 20/03/2015 10:34

Hello viroids! This thread dropped off my feed Shock I've become a terrible lurker - I'm cheering you all on from the sidelines at the minute.
J has his first tooth Blush We've had a torrid couple of weeks what with DH's dad and the teething, but I think we've turned a corner now, he's finally sleeping again!!

ZylaB · 20/03/2015 11:24

Doc says one poo a day is fine for a breastfed baby. I pointed out how uncomfy she was but they want us to see how it goes. We shall see! :)

ZylaB · 20/03/2015 14:11

I think H has been spending all her energy from milk into growing her eyelashes, I swear they're longer than mine! mine are short, stubby little things, but STILL Grin
