Right, I'll catch up if and when Madam has crashed out but I've got some ranitidine for the reflux so hopefully that'll work. Bloody doctor acted like it was coming out of her own wages.
Nope.
Give tge kid tge good stuff for crying out loud!!

JuniDD · 13/02/2015 20:04

Hope it went ok at the docs zyla and that R responds well to the new meds minion.

We went to town today so I could get a bra fitted, finally. The fitter was like "No. No, no. NO!" when she saw my current bra and guess who wore a dress...?! Just pulled it down but what a duh-brain! DD was really good all day and went to bed rather early so hoping I'm not in for a ridiculous night, so can't handle it!

furry you indeed have the patience of many saints! I hope he "finds" mini-scoob soon and starts enjoying her. Silly men, eh?!

MrJ went to the pub after work which makes me a bit grr. It's fine, as there's nothing he can do here at that time, it would just be nice sometimes to spontaneously decide to do something.

Any nappy rash tips? Her bum is red raw from teething issues and these poos are burning through even a really thick layer of the yellow Metanium. Sad

RPopz · 13/02/2015 20:36

Fingers crossed for the ranitidine Min!

willywallace · 13/02/2015 20:41

Someone told me mix a spoon of vaseline, sudocreme and metanium and splash it on? I would say some nappy free time whenever possible and check it's not thrush if there's no improvement.

Good news Min, hope it works.

willywallace · 13/02/2015 20:44

Also think you're supposed touse thin layer of cream so air can still get to it.

JuniDD · 13/02/2015 21:32

I might try Sudocrem next. She had some nappy free time today on an inco (I must've known deep down my waters would go first as I bought loads, but didn't end up using any!). of course, she didn't wee or poo at all but when I'm airing her on the change mat it's a double whammy.

Minion · 13/02/2015 21:41

She's asleep!
She's asleep!
Thank god almighty
She's asleep!

Trialling out the double swaddle. So far x so good

FurryScoob · 13/02/2015 21:51

Hope the new stuff works min & you get a better night.

No idea what to do with nappy rash juni we've got that to come so watching with interest.

I don't think I've got the patients of a saint, I've been a mug but now I'm getting a bit more sleep I'm taking no more shit!

willywallace · 13/02/2015 23:32

Half your luck Min. Well, this one is asleep but not floppy enough to put her down yet. If I do it too early she starts the writhing/vomiting cycle.

Minion · 14/02/2015 07:59

Morning! This message is bought to you from someone who got 5 hours of uninterrupted kip.
I feel I can take on anything now!
Combi of the new meds and a double swaddle seems to work for now.
wil, get the ranitidine. Don't let them fob you off with gaviscon. Hope little one gets the help soon.

Not sure about nappy rash tho my mother in law swears by dried egg white.
Childminder since the 80s and says it's a miracle.

willywallace · 14/02/2015 08:20

Ooh breastmilk for nappy rash too.

I found gaviscon worked for MiniWil to a certain degree. There's no way they'll prescribe the proper meds straight away as she's so wee and is putting on weight etc. They'll make us try it first.

Had the worst night ever. Have had to hold her all night. I did lots of 4am crying.

Minion · 14/02/2015 08:57

Oh bless her. You'd think there was something suitable for dinky ones seeing as it's so common.
Hope you both get some much needed rest x

willywallace · 14/02/2015 09:45

What are you swaddling her with Min? Just normal blankets or something special?

Minion · 14/02/2015 10:17

I bought 40x40 inch swaddle muslins from tkmaxx and I use a smaller muslin to keep the arms from flailing around.
Google double swaddle wil!
Magic!
Hope it lasts

Minion · 14/02/2015 19:02

Lovely meal planned. Robyns slept all day as we think she may be coming down with a cold.
Guess whose wide awake?
Is like she knows!!

willywallace · 15/02/2015 00:49

I swaddled her tonight but unwrapped her as she felt hot. I can't find the thermometer but worried she might have a temperature. She seems to have a dodgy tummy.

Progress on the bottle though. She took almost three ounces tonight so we just have to work up to a full feed. Anyone who uses formula, do you think about 4/4.5 ounces is about right for a 1 month old?

Hope you managed to eat your dinner Min.

Minion · 15/02/2015 03:57

Dinner all eaten in peace and quiet. sadly she has now decided she doesn't want to be swaddled and is wide awake.
I've no idea what to do
wil, that amount seems Normal for this one

willywallace · 15/02/2015 05:01

Ah I feel your pain. We're sleeping in half hour blocks tonight Envy . I imagine the next couple of hours will be spent on me if I want to get any peace.

ZylaB · 15/02/2015 15:07

Had a weigh today and she's stayed the same, at least she didn't lose any more. I'm a lot happier with her though, she's feeding better and last night actually told us she was hungry, so hopefully weight will start going up by next weighing on tues. Come on H, eat eat eat.

JuniDD · 15/02/2015 21:25

hey zyla that's good H hasn't lost anymore weight. Cheering her on from here.

DD's bum is healed up, yay! Wish her poos would sort their life out though, all colours of the yellow/green spectrum and fairly constant still. She refused to go down for ages tonight, really unusual, so still waiting for my dinner and expecting a silly night ahead as she barely fed. I was tired as it was!

willywallace · 15/02/2015 23:04

She's getting enough hind milk Juni?

Good news Zyla, hopefully she'll start gaining now.

We had quite a good day and already having a very unsettled night to make up for it. She has finally taken the dummy though although it has so far failed to send her off to sleep.

Minion · 16/02/2015 04:45

We have success!
First night in sleeping bag and cot and she slept from 7:00-just now, with a nappy change and bottle at 11:15!
Wish I'd made the change sooner.
But, are all babies shop bloody busy when asleep?
Fab news about feeding. It's such a worry isn't it

willywallace · 16/02/2015 06:03

Good work Min. Some babies need the space. Got screamed at for five straight hours last night and then she slept for the grand total of half an hour. So pulled her into my bed so I could get some bloody rest. MrWil is going to get a doctors app for her today because we can't take four more nights of this.

Minion · 16/02/2015 07:28

Oh you poor things. I hope they can get you in. Makes me mad when they say is it an emergency? It's a newborn, of course it is!
Do they do phone triage at your docs? Ours call us back same day, do appointment over the phone and prescribe if needed.
Very handy and means I don't have to talk to the incredibly dull gp who I met the other day

willywallace · 16/02/2015 08:36

They're pretty good about appointments, you can usually get one the same day. It was like I was feeding her fire.
