Oh god wil what a nightmare, you really are supermum for keeping going.

Have you put R in her own room min or is her cot in with you?

DD use to flap her arms about a lot & wake herself up, had a couple of good nights with her sleeping quite well in her basket but last night got woken up by her bashing her head against the basket side. She's literally thrashing from side to side whacking her head, as soon as I put my hand on her to calm her down she wakes up with a massive smile on her face. Is this normal or do I just have a bonkers sleeper? May be time to put her in her own room.

ZylaB · 16/02/2015 10:02

H won't sleep after a feed. We're on 3 hourly feeds and she takes at least 45 mins to settle after and then has to go on the bed next to me or won't settle at all. I've rolled towels to put either side of her so won't roll onto her, but it's like she won't go to sleep by herself, a continuation of the only sleeping on my chest I guess.

willywallace · 16/02/2015 10:35

I'd say if she has now improved from only sleeping on you Zyla, then that's a good thing. Baby steps. Always remember she's a month younger than you think.

How old is DD now Furry? Babies are ridiculously noisy sleepers. Whoever made up the phrase 'sleeping like a baby' was very much mistaken. Think we moved MiniWil when she was about 4 1/2 months. Just couldn't take it anymore!

Definitely not supermum! I would put her on a bottle but everything I've read suggests it would make it worse.

Minion · 16/02/2015 10:49

We are seriously considering moving her into her room. We've got an angel care sensor pad and her room is right next door, plus I'm a ridiculously light sleeper, I should hear her.
Think we will do it gradually.
People will probably raise their eyebrows at me doing it so early. But happy parents make happy babies I reckon.

Won't be long til she's out the basket, I've never seen a kid grow so much so quickly. Going to be tall I think.

Bless little wil, give her lots of hugs from the grad grads.
zyla, she's still a dot and wants her mama. Lovely and secure and safe for her, tiring for you. Bless.

cookielove · 16/02/2015 11:16

min you should do what's right for you and your baby this is why E is on his tummy! And if we could have he would have been in his own room. Soon we will be moving and he can have his own space!

wil hope you get an answer from the Dr about your lo.

I am currently sitting in tesco carpark letting baby sleep and waiting to see if I get picked to win on radio competition Grin

Haha, good luck cookie!

Zy - you'll essentially be her placenta until she gets to "full term" so that means lots of feeding and holding Smile It won't be forever. Have you tried rolling up blankets and putting them either side of her in the Moses basket so she feels like she's being held? Also put a hot water bottle in there to warm the sheet and make the transition from warm mummy less of a shock.

DS makes some hilarious noises when he's "asleep"! I used to be jumping out of bed at every peep to check he wasn't dying or something! Shock Can't believe how noisy they are hehe. A friend of mine put her baby in his own room at 4 weeks! Just got to do what works for you I think.

Gentle cuddles for the refluxy babies x

willywallace · 16/02/2015 12:40

Actually don't do the hot water bottle thing. A doctor friend told me the other day that they knew of someone whose baby got rushed to hospital after doing that as they fell into such a deep sleep and overheated and they couldn't wake them. Shock

RPopz · 16/02/2015 13:04

Noooooo just put it in for a minute or so to warm the sheet a little.... don't leave it in with the baby! Shock Is that what they did??

willywallace · 16/02/2015 14:32

No they just warmed the sheets. Don't know how long for mind. Scary, I never would have thought it.

FurryScoob · 16/02/2015 14:45

Nooooooooooooooooo, warming DD's basket up abit is the only way she'll go to sleep in itShock

Have you had any luck with the doctor wil

Hope you won cookie

zyla good to hear H is feeding now even if she's refusing to sleep alone

DD is 3 months on Thursday, we've got an angelcare sensor mat too so it might be time to ship her out to her own room. Little monsters snoring away in her car seat, I obviously need to fit a seat belt to the Moses basket to keep her still.

ZylaB · 16/02/2015 15:50

Several midwives have told me to warm her blankets! Eeek

JuniDD · 16/02/2015 16:52

We managed to warm DD's blankets once. Ever. We're just not organised enough!

Re green poo - I'm pretty sure she's getting enough hindmilk, think it must be this cold she's got. I don't know...always something to worry about! She's such a snacky/crappy feeder at the moment. I've ended up block feeding just to get her to finish a side.

How did it go with the dr wil?

DD doesn't even have a room or cot atm (sleeping in an NCT bednest). She's not too noisy at night. Well, I don't think so, she wakes MrJ up all the time! Ha!

willywallace · 16/02/2015 17:36

We're trying the gaviscon. Like me, she wasn't sure it was reflux as it isn't consistent but no harm in trying it. She was really nice though.

The wee one has slept all day though Confused .

Hope the cold pisses off soon Juni.

Always just do what's right for you Furry and ignore anyone else. MiniWil slept so much better in her own space.

cookielove · 16/02/2015 20:43

I didn't win Humph! :(

We were told to warm sheets I have manages it once in his six months of life Shock he does have a snuggly blanket under him though!

Minion · 16/02/2015 21:10

I did start out with the hot water bottle bit she doesn't seem to mind if it's there or not tbh.
Girls im on edge, we've put her into her own cot in her room. Not sure whether to leave her there after her late bottle.

Everytime the monitor goes off, we go stiff ha ha

RPopz · 16/02/2015 21:15

Aw bummer cookie! What were you trying to get??

I only did the hot water bottle thing a couple of times I think. Never really made much of a difference to DS going down. Usually by the time his mammoth evening cluster feed was over the damn thing would be cold!

We went to baby massage this after noon. Was lovely

RPopz · 16/02/2015 21:17

Aw Min! She may as well be in with you if you stay up all night listening to the monitor heh Grin

willywallace · 16/02/2015 23:33

Ooh what did you decide Min? It definitely feels weird at first.

I should get out my massage stuff from last time. I'll add it to the never achieved to do list.

Ladies what happens at six week check? Made appointment today and can't remember.

Minion · 17/02/2015 08:15

No problems going down after bottle at 11, had to Bob in at 12 but she went straight off again.
Woke at 3:30 for next feed. I went in at 5 and straight off again. Went on at 6 when she was straining for a massive poo and took her into our bed then where we both slept.
Think she did ok in all honesty, it's just me whose cream crackered now.

6 week check was a bit pointless, checked hips, eyes lungs and feeding. Asked if I was ok and got sent home.
I wanted her weighing but they don't do that at my gps, so I'll wait till the well baby clinic on Thurs.
Post natal group this arvo, intro to baby sensory. This one's already straining necks to look at lights, she'll be on overload!

willywallace · 17/02/2015 08:54

Ah we love the lights here. They said six week check was just for me, not baby. Just wondering if I'll have to get my foof out basically? Grin

Sounds like a busy night. MicroWil still only sleeps between 30 mins and an hour at a time. I don't understand why she can happily sleep in the day but at night she is writhing around. Makes no sense to me. Can't get her to take the gaviscon Angry .

Minion · 17/02/2015 09:38

Can you express and add it to the bottle? Though with it for every feed may mean you spending all your awake hours expressing, so not a handy option.

I've had an ace morning already. She's been full of smiles! She's 8 week old today and finally treating me to more than one small smirk , though she's approached the magic 90 mins and got arsey, so back of to sleep again.
Hard life eh.

FurryScoob · 17/02/2015 09:39

No foof inspection for me at 6 week check just a lecture about contraception & BP check.

Put DD in her basket in the big cot last night, no thrashing about & she slept 11.30-7.30 after a last minute late night poo explosion.Grin I sat wrapped in a quilt ready to calm her if she thrashed about as she went to sleep & woke up on the floor at 7 Blush may make it to bed tonight!

willywallace · 17/02/2015 10:29

OMG you must have been knackered not to wake up Furry! Good news though.

You have to have something like 4 oz of milk to mix it with that Min and she'll only take 2. Will try a syringe later.

MrWil seems to have had a breakthrough yesterday. Started going on about how organised we'll need to be with two. And did a meal plan for the week Shock . Funny how things seem more manageable when you feel like someone else is sharing the burden.

cookielove · 17/02/2015 10:31

Wow I can't wait to out E in his own room, counting down the days now! We are hopefully gonna find out today if it has completed :)

I was in to win £500.

ZylaB · 17/02/2015 12:49

Well H hasn't put any weight on, lost a few grams more making her loss be 12%. I thought we had cracked it, she's been feeding every 2-3hours! They checked our latch and don't think she has tongue tie, so I guess it's just that I'm shit and can't feed her properly. Got to top her up every 3 hours now with expressed stuff if I can manage to express enough, as well as normal feeds. I'm such a crap mummy :(
