Oh also let me know what happens re bum grapes. I was going to wait until 6 week check to mention. The midwife says they can give you a cream but that doesn't sound easy to apply?! Confused

RPopz · 12/02/2015 17:49

He's 6 weeks old tomorrow Wil. He seems to be feeding much less often these past couple of days too.... (Cue law of sod! Confused )

My "6 week check" is actually at 8 weeks and I'm not sure I can last til then! Blush Got some cream from Boots but it's not really doing much. Should probably eat more fruit and veg instead of biscuits.... Hmm

Pub sounds awesome Min! Happy mummy = happy baby! Or something... if it makes you feel less of a bad parent, DS fell off the sofa t'other day. Onto his head. Natch. Blush

Speaking of liars... DH has been off work today and at home with us. So DS has been asleep all bloody day! Making me look bad!

RPopz · 12/02/2015 17:52

Think the name is sticking now Will Grin I blame the hormones!! Haha. Plus a load of people have come out of the woodwork saying they're glad we didn't use the other one.... Though they might said that either way. Who knows.

Nessalina · 12/02/2015 18:29

Hey all! Plague household here Confused All three of us down with the lurgy, so we missed our first baby swim lesson today. Gutted, we've been so looking forward to it! Definitely for the best though, J is so snotty! He was making the most disgusting noises all last night Grin
Great news on the BFing Zyla, that's a good stint for early days Smile
Pub action sounds amazing Min Grin
Have you been able to get a bit for rest Wil?

cookielove · 12/02/2015 19:56

Ds had his first swimming lesson today which he totally rocked!

His sleeping is slowly improving which is good as he was waking at 1am and it was killing me. I don't think I will be able to stop feeding him in the night until he is ready to stop as be just goes crazy until he gets the milk. The last two nights I gave him calpol before his bottle and he refused the bottle for ages as he was so upset at having to wait!

willywallace · 12/02/2015 21:20

He'll probably get a bit better when he's eating more solids cookie. Then he can have a wee supper before bedtime.

Is it just sore when pooing Popz?

Do you have a wetsuit for him Ness? Cos they get cold really quickly (and they're super cute). I found it useful when she was wee.

willywallace · 12/02/2015 21:22

Oh and yes Ness, had an ok night last night and got a nap earlier too. Hoping she stops feeding soon so I can go upstairs and either sleep or chill for a bit.

cookielove · 12/02/2015 22:01

Would definitely recommend a wetsuit, ds didn't need one as he is so chunky but there was a wee little bambino in a wetsuit who ca me out a little chilled. Her mama warmed he up under the hand driers awww!

RPopz · 12/02/2015 22:05

I quite want to do these baby swimming lessons but they're so bloody expensive round here! Sad

Sore all the time since this week Wil. My diet is a travesty right now and am always sat on my arse bfing so it's hardly surprising. Sad

cookielove · 12/02/2015 22:07

rpopz they are ridiculously expensive here to £152 for 10 weeks

willywallace · 12/02/2015 23:35

Quite often you can get mother and baby sessions for free or cheap. It's not lessons but you can still get them used to the pool. Or If you search hard enough you can often find local lessons for a fraction of the price of the franchised ones. Ask around when you meet other mums or even ask at the pools.

willywallace · 12/02/2015 23:36

ice pack popz? Mine aren't as bad as that. More just a toilet issue.

FurryScoob · 13/02/2015 08:55

Grin love the use of a hand dryer as a baby heater!

Flowers for the bum grapes ladies

Did anyone watch This Morning yesterday? They were talking about how hard being a first time mum is & how lonely it can be. I've downloaded it for DP to watch to try & make him understand why I get pissed off at him buggering off to the pub after work & generally not getting involved with DD.

Minion · 13/02/2015 09:00

Horrible night here.
She won't sleep swaddled. Won't sleep unswaddled. Writhing, thrashing, moaning, we've both been up since half 1, husband has taken a day off to help me out.
I've our 6 week check at half ten so I'll bring it up
I just don't know what to do.

RPopz · 13/02/2015 09:02

DH watched that Furry! He's recorded it for me apparently haha! Bless him.

Apparently my bum grapes are an abcess Shock No wonder I'm in so much bloody pain!

willywallace · 13/02/2015 09:03

I didn't see it Furry but totally agree, especially if you're not used to children. How is Mr Scoob being of late?

willywallace · 13/02/2015 09:06

Oh shit popz! That explains it! What will they do?

She may need better medication Min? Could be the gaviscon just isn't cutting it for her. How long has she been on it now?

ZylaB · 13/02/2015 09:42

I feel like we've had some progress! First night since she was born that she'd settle without being on one of us. Only for a couple of hours at a time but it was nice to have all 3 of us asleep at once instead of me and DH doing shifts. She's also feeding better, but I think she will have lost quite a lot at her weigh in today, so we will see what they say. The last 24 hours she's had a feed off me every 3 or 3 and a half hours, which is an amazing improvement for us, though I still don't think my milk is in properly yet....blaming the CS for that.

Stitches out today too, hope it doesn't hurt! Eeek

ZylaB · 13/02/2015 09:42

Oh popz ow, poor you!

min fx for a better night tonight for you

FurryScoob · 13/02/2015 09:49

min I've had the same with DD, thrashes about whacking her arms on the side of her cot. I've ditched the gaviscon for the last 24 hours & started using aptimil reflux, she's a lot more settled & didn't chuck herself about going to sleep. Breast milk top up doesn't stay down though. Sad

Bum abscess sounds bad popz is it fixable with antibiotics?

Mrfurry's having good & bad days! He's given DD a couple of bottles this week but still goes to pub on way home from work (doesn't get in till 8) & won't help with DD crying unless he's 'in the right frame of mind'. He'll get there eventually or ill murder him for moaning he only got 6 hours sleep!

RPopz · 13/02/2015 10:22

I've got antibiotics and cream and lactulose... Shock Should start getting better in 48 hours apparently. I bloody hope so. Hurts worse than my episiotomy wound did! Sad

Zy I don't think my milk came in properly til day 5 or 6... I think having a cs or any kind of birth "trauma" delays it.

willywallace · 13/02/2015 11:58

Ow Popz, I hope it gets better quickly. Sounds grim.

Glad LittleScoob had a better night. Probably harder for bm to stay down as it isn't as heavy. Great that you found something that works though. I wanted to express this morning but am trapped under baby. Also can't reach my juice. Angry You're a lovely, patient wife/partner. MrWil suggested he might fly back to where he's from for a boys' night, the week after he is going out here for a big day out. I gave him Envy this face and suggested I leave him for the weekend with both girls. Thankfully he saw my point.

ZylaB · 13/02/2015 14:40

Just had midwife round, H has lost 10.9% weight so we've got to go have her weighed on sun again. She's only 5lb 11oz now :( im not surprised though, with how reluctant she's been to feed. She has been a lot better the last 24 hours though so we're hopefully on the right road now. Just need my sodding milk to come in properly!

I've got to go docs this afternoon cos my bp is really high again. Apparently it usually takes a while to come down after preeclampsia, but mine went low after CS so they took me off tablets, then reintroduced them at what seems to be a guessed level as they crept up again. Most people have it come down staeadily over a few weeks, mine is just fluctuating so I need monitoring and do adjustment grrr.

RPopz · 13/02/2015 14:47

Upto 10% is normal Zy so she's only just outside that. I wouldn't worry too much.

willywallace · 13/02/2015 15:24

MiniWil lost 9.5% I think zyla and she was ok although took her a little while to catch up. I know you have other complications but try not to worry if she's feeding well now.
