Hope Eli's feeling better cookie

It's gone very quiet in here, is everyone fast asleep with their babies?

willywallace · 02/02/2015 11:38

I wish I was Furry.

Hope Eli is feeling better Cookie.

We made it out for 9am this morning! I did have help but still pretty pleased.

Nessalina · 03/02/2015 02:06

Hey viroids Smile I seem to be so short of time for MNetting these days! J has been sleeping ok the last few nights, but he's feeding loads in the day - I have tired boobs! After the mastitis incident I'm trying to feed of both boobs at every feed so they don't get overfull, but my nipples are feeling the frequency!
How's everyone else? Smile

cookielove · 03/02/2015 04:03

Elijah is still poorly and it is waking him at night, although tried him with hungry naby formula at 8.00 when he went to bed unfortunately he woke up at 8.40. Then had 2oz of normal formula at 10 and slept till 3.47am I call that success he has just taken another 4 oz and is currently going back off which is taking a while as he is so bunged up!

willywallace · 03/02/2015 08:29

Glad the boobs are better Ness. I'm finding that I'm not really engorged this time round. I was all the time with MiniWil. Finding it much comfier in general this time round.

Colic is rearing it's delightful head here so we have screaming for hours each evening/night. Apart from that, not going too badly.

How are you doing Min?

Minion · 03/02/2015 11:28

Hi all, we're good thanks. We've been at in laws for the weekend and she's been an angel. Sleeping till 2, Bottle then sleep til 6. Lush!

Had a lovely stay at a hotel on Sunday night, missed her but she had a ball apparently.
Sorry for the sore boobs girls

cookielove · 03/02/2015 17:17

I cave and have bought a tub of hungry baby formula but it is only for nights!

I hate this cold it has taken away my happy boy today!

ness glad the boobs are better!

wil is there anything you can do for colic if you are breastfeeding?

Have signed up for waterbabies very expensive! Have heard great things though. Will do one term to build up confidence then we will wing it till he is older.

JuniDD · 03/02/2015 18:36

Sorry about the colic wil, that particular memory is still rather fresh! Hope you're managing it ok.

DD has been asleep most of the day, had her jabs earlier and we got jumped on by a dog Angry. She's now WIDE awake...this time yesterday she'd been asleep for an hour. A pattern will emerge, right?!

Night in a hotel sounds nice min. I'm looking forward to one of those when the time comes. Although we're meant to be going to a wedding in March and i've insisted on the poshest hotel possible. I will be woken in the night though!

Considering giving bounce and rhyme a try tomorrow (if the child deigns to be awake) we'll see.

willywallace · 03/02/2015 19:03

Ha don't think we really got a daytime sleeping pattern until we were down to one sleep Juni.

Think we can give all the usual colic stuff Cookie, it's more the reflux meds which are a pain with bf. When did your DD stop the screaming Juni? I can't remember from last time.

willywallace · 03/02/2015 19:05

Also Cookie, we did waterbabies and thought it was great. MiniWil loves a swimming pool - no issue with going underwater etc.

So jealous of the hotel Min.

JuniDD · 03/02/2015 19:11

It's particularly weird as she's not slept in the day for a couple of weeks! It's caught up with her. (She's had brief catnaps but no proper sleep. Til today!)

6 weeks DD improved immensely. I got quite militant with the winding - every time she took a break I'd wind her, when she fell asleep on the boob etc. Also gripe water seemed to take the edge off it a bit. Lordy, it was pretty awful. DP asking me not to feed her as she'd calm down, take three sucks and be off again for another 40 minutes...shudder.

DD has horrendous eczema so no swimming for her. (plus it really doesn't agree with my hair Wink)

Nessalina · 03/02/2015 20:56

We've booked onto water babies too! Start next week! DH is so excited about it! Grin
Nice day today, my mum was visiting and we went to baby cinema and then for lunches. J was a little gem he's been very good when we go out, it's just when we're at home that he acts up it seems Blush We needs more outings!

willywallace · 03/02/2015 22:10

Always the way Ness, better when they're out and about. Means you don't get any rest though.

6 weeks I can cope with Juni. I'm not very good at getting her wind up. I try every time but hit or miss whether I manage it.

Nessalina · 04/02/2015 05:05

Good god, J just slept 9-4:30!! Shock My boobs are killing me!! Why why why? Why tonight? Not that I'm complaining. Though I might need to get up and pump the other boob coz it's going to burst and I doubt he'll have both!
J has got very hard to burp now he moves more - I used to just hold him up under his arms and he'd relax and burp, but now he squirms (and whimpers if he hasn't been given both boobs), so I don't ever get a decent burp out of him.it doesn't seem to be causing any trouble yet at least.

willywallace · 04/02/2015 05:54

Fuck I'm so jealous. I got 11.15-1.45. Then up for 2 sodding hours. Then an hour of sleep and she's up again.

JuniDD · 04/02/2015 14:29

Hope you got a bit more sleep in the end wil.

DD woke up at 2.30 and was then feeding and screaming until 4. It was like having a newborn. I put her in bed with me and after a 6am feed slept til 8.30. I had to sleep on my "bad" side so now ache like a mofo.

Apparently MrJ is so so tired he's had to work from home IN OUR BED today. God, sometimes I could spit he winds me up so much! And then DD vomited massively during a mid-morning feed. I am feeling somewhat below par myself. But glad we've reduced our daily activities. Life is so much less stressful when I'm not worrying about being late all the time!

Minion · 04/02/2015 15:28

Poor little jnrjuni
Hope you both feel better this afternoon.
And why does ' working from home ' involve a living room, pj's and sky sports, to all men?
The husband is having a weeks leave this week so I'm actually able to eat, poo and get things done without having to strain my ears listening out for her.
Bliss!

Just had her weighed, chunky is now 9lb 14oz!!
On our way to charity shop to give away some tiny baby grows. Can't believe she ever fitted into them.
And we're entering the dreaded 6 week growth spurt, already noticing it. Poor lamb won't finish her bottle and just wants to sit with me.
Earlier on, when she wouldn't nap she just sat in my arms whilst I played candy crush, just staring at me. For ages!
Not crying. Just content.
What a feeling!!

cookielove · 04/02/2015 16:59

Well we had some success with the new formula he had a melt down at 10 had some milk and then crashed out at 10.40 slept till 2.30 when he stirred but I ignored him and he went back to sleep till 5. Took 2 more oz and slept till 9.00! 9.00AM I am amazed!

OP posts:
willywallace · 04/02/2015 19:14

Aw I'm longing for the days of sleeping contented baby!

Definitely only organise one thing a day at most Juni, keeps things far more manageable. Although saying that we had a zillion things today but such is life with a toddler. I never would have managed it all with my first.

Hoping I get a chance to use my pump tomorrow, could do with getting an early night at some stage.

JuniDD · 04/02/2015 20:17

hello. My mum came round and played with DD while I dozed on the sofa. She is amazing at playing with her, she should be on telly or something!

Glad you're having a good week with MrMin around min. It's all so much easier with another pair of hands, isn't it?

Thank god, he's not into sport but I almost wish he was as sitting watching something is at least activity instead of this endless sleeping/tiredness.

9am is an awesome up time cookie. DD is usually up around 8.30am at the moment which is great. Apart from we have dr at 8.40am on Friday. We are both shitting ourselves about how we are going to get there!

Meeting my sil tomorrow at ikea at 10am. Last time I met her I was two hours late (at her house, but still Shock) so hoping to be less shit tomorrow. Wish us luck!

JuniDD · 04/02/2015 20:17

Oh & wil I have so learned my lesson the hard way on that one. Always seem to be on my 2nd engagement of the day at someone's house and they never offer lunch!!!!

willywallace · 04/02/2015 21:46

Bastards Juni! If you're there at lunchtime they HAVE to offer lunch. There must be a law about that.

I've left MrWil downstairs with the baby. Sweepstake on how long until he brings her up?

Minion · 04/02/2015 23:23

I've come downstairs with velcro child. She just well not try and sleep, ironic since she's not been awake for 4 days!
So, velcro kid (superhero name, superhero power is the ability to keep eyes open even in the most fearsome of baddies), me (said, baddie), trading places and the lights on full bright (as it helps keep her eyes shut) and that's us til I get fed up.
Anyone up for company?

willywallace · 05/02/2015 00:00

Me Min. This one has been going since half seven. I'm kind of hoping she's just got off to sleep but not counting my chickens just yet.

FurryScoob · 05/02/2015 00:46

Hope Velcro kids nodded off & let you get some sleep minion

DP's snoring so loud DD is waking up & doing the startled reflex every time he breaths so we've set up camp on the sofa again because I can't wake him up to make him move. Angry
