That's so annoying Furry. 1 frigging hour, that-s how long I get?! Not amused.

Minion · 05/02/2015 15:28

This kid is testing me today.
That is all

willywallace · 05/02/2015 15:33

I know the feeling Min except it isn't the baby, it's the toddler. Will not do a thing she's told Angry .

Minion · 05/02/2015 18:56

She is so tired she's fighting sleep, which in turn makes her scream, which makes her more tired.
And so and so on

willywallace · 05/02/2015 19:22

Sling? Swing? Car? Or have you exhausted all options?

Has anyone managed to breastfeed in a wrap sling?

Minion · 05/02/2015 19:55

Sling...cried
Car... She sleeps but wakes as soon as it's stopped.
Don't have a swing and not a fan of bouncy chair just yet.
I got a bit fed up and popped her on my shoulder and rubbed her back vigorously then she Burped the smallest of burps and now she's quiet.

Typical!!

JuniDD · 05/02/2015 20:53

Glad R has calmed down.
I've not managed to feed in a sling - too much going on!

I think I'm getting mastitis...everything was fine until a crappy latch today in bloody mothercare of all places! They've got shit chairs. Now my right side is sore and tingling/shooting pains and baby refusing to feed on that side. I tried it and it's really salty. So very pleased we have an appointment at the GP booked tomorrow! Have to try to keep expressing and hopefully it won't get too bad. Fingers crossed.

how did yours start ness? Hope you're feeling better now xx

FurryScoob · 05/02/2015 21:02

DD has a cold, been grumpy all day with me but as soon as DP walks in the smiles come out. I really am just a food machine Sad

Not used a wrap sling wil scared ill do it wrong & DD will fall through the bottom.

willywallace · 05/02/2015 21:22

Yeah I don't like it much Furry. They don't fall through the bottom but not convinced the legs and head are supported as they should be. They're not handy for bf either.

Have you got any red patches Juni? I used to manage to clear any blocked ducts by massaging in shower or when feeding and expressing. Do you feel ill?

JuniDD · 05/02/2015 21:39

Aw, furry I know that feeling. DD is going through a very attached phase with me which I am half enjoying, half perturbed by.

No red patches and the breast feels soft but I am getting shooting pains and the nipple is so bloody sensitive. Hard to know if it's just damage from the bad latch or something worse. The milk seems salty on both sides. Bah, what's a course of antibiotics between friends?! Will see what the GP thinks and express again in a bit and give it all a good massage. Weirdly, it doesn't hurt at all when she's feeding (for 2 seconds before she pulls off in disgust).

willywallace · 05/02/2015 23:09

Don't know Juni, never had mastitis. Hope it's not that.

So we tried a bottle half an hour ago. Expressed just over 3oz and MrWil tried to give it to her. He managed to get 1oz down her but she wasn't happy. I managed another ounce through the screams but she then threw the whole lot up over me to get her own back. So I have wasted lots of bm and am now worried she won't take a bottle. Any advice? This is new to me. Was really looking forward to a little break and the chance of going to bed early. Of course now she's widw awake.

Minion · 06/02/2015 03:19

wil, reflux? That sounds how ours started. Is she pushing her legs out straight? Arching back and almost throwing her head?

I hope it's not x

Is it me or is burping babies one if the very worst aspects of early morning feeds.
Pees me right off!

R crashed out as soon as the Bottle left her lips last night. Poor thing was shattered. And all that palaver over a tiny burp.

willywallace · 06/02/2015 05:34

Burping babies is totally the biggest pain in the arse, I agree.

Yeah I'm coming round to the notion she may have a bit of reflux although I don't get why it's worse at night? Ever since the bottle attempt she has puked after feed, which is new, but it actually seems to make her more settled so I don't really mind. Now I just need her to sleep for more than two hours at a time.

Minion · 06/02/2015 07:34

Cause she probably lies straight back down after it wil, whereas in the day you probably hold her upright for a bit longer. We have to hold R for 20 mins after each feed to make sure she's OK.
Thankfully gaviscon seems to be working for her. Hope they can give you something

willywallace · 06/02/2015 09:17

No I don't put her back down because I can see she can't handle it. But often she doesn't settle even when held. Although last night she was better. Can't work her out.

FurryScoob · 06/02/2015 09:47

DD's reflux is worse at night, gaviscon helped but a dummy (swore blind I'd never use one) settled her enough to get her into a better sleep at night.

DD decided she'd had enough sleep at 5, got me up, then got comfy on me on the sofa & went back to sleep. She's just woke up for a poo after I've watch 4 hours of breakfast tv!

Minion · 06/02/2015 10:34

YY to a dummy. Been a lifesaver... Mores the pity.
Aww bless littlest wil, it's awful knowing they're in pain and they can't do anything to help themselves.

willywallace · 06/02/2015 10:42

Is it Furry? I wonder why that is.

I would say four hours of breakfast tv sounds like torture but I have had 2 1/2 of nick jr. I am such a bad mother! We're all still in pyjamas too.

willywallace · 06/02/2015 10:42

Oh and we tried a dummy but she didn't like it. Maybe give it another shot next week.

FurryScoob · 06/02/2015 11:06

DD feeds more in the evening so I thought that could be why the reflux is worse because there's more milk to hold down. (If its not puked back up) There's some really good threads in the infant feeding from other people with reflux babies full of stuff to try to get them to sleep.

Nothing wrong with a PJ day in front of the telly!

willywallace · 06/02/2015 12:08

Maybe that is why then. I've been through all the reflux stuff before so know what to do. I just wasn't convinced that was what was wrong with her but now the throwing up has started, I think it probably is. Have a doctor's app for next week. Thanks for support. Seems as if it's pretty common.

JuniDD · 06/02/2015 13:23

Sorry about the refluxy symptoms wil, hope you can get that sorted out. No advice here or on the bottle front. I believe you just have to keep trying with the bottle.

Got an antibiotics scrip and waiting to see how I go. Feeling a lot better now DD is having an actual NAP in the actual DAY for once. Of course now I miss her and want her to wake up. Duh! Beginning to think this pain is damage from a crappy latch. I fed her in mothercare yesterday and they had these tub chairs which are total shite for bf. Grrrr.

Anyway, had an early morning walk to the GP and gonna make my mum take me out in a bit too. Not a bad day, on the whole.

willywallace · 06/02/2015 15:31

My boobs always hurt from crap latch. I'm shit at breastfeeding.

God my foof really hurts today and the bleeding has got heavy again. Hope MrWil gets home early so I can nap.

cookielove · 06/02/2015 15:37

Hello all, sorry to here you and your lo are suffering wil

I'm currently in bed trying to get Elijah into his crib for his nap! I will transfer him soon!
